    I was referred to Wood Urban Design by a client of mine who highly recommended them. Definitely did not disappoint!! After some back-and-forth regarding designs and ideas, Adrian sent me a couple of design ideas and gave me a mock up to give my wife and I an indication of what the finished product would look like. He then turned the project over to a coworker, Drake, who took it from there. The finished product was amazing and beautiful!! Drake and his wife came up to our home in Northern Wisconsin to install them and ensure satisfaction personally!! During the process, I had a Music cabinet that needed repair as well… They took care of it and am thrilled with how everything turned out!! Wood Urban Design does the highest quality of work and cannot recommend them high enough! Thank you, Adrian for your availability… And thank you, Drake for not just the fine woodwork, but the personal touch that you gave the entire project!!!

    We asked Drake to make a bench out of my Mother in law’s childhood bed. Although he’d not done one before he was up for the challenge. He picked up the bed and delivered it back. It came out perfect and exactly like we had envisioned! We can continue enjoying this priceless heirloom in a different way! We love it. Our next ask was to make butcher blocks from a piece of old wood we found in our crawl space that had the stamp of a place special to our family. Drake made several beautiful blocks for us to gift to my Dad and sons for Christmas. Drake was able to save the stamps on the bottom of the blocks to make them even more special!Thanks so much Drake. I will not hesitate to use WUD again! Highly highly recommend this company and this thoughtful kind craftsman!

    During the second week of June 2020 we had a substantial storm roll through and take out a large chunk of a white oak at the front of the property. A few days later we cleaned up the mess and then just let it sit wondering what we were going to do.After hours of searching and googling I came across Adrian Plante and Wood Urban Design. Someone who mills and builds? Yes, please! Adrian and his team milled with the tree in March 2021 with the intention of making a dining room table. The milled wood sat at the house curing for another year. Fast forward to September 2022, the oak pieces were picked up and taken to WUD’s shop to prepare it for building. For several months my husband and I fumbled through different plans and thoughts for what style of table we wanted and how we were going to blend our visions into one item. With gentle prodding and guidance we finalized our vision for this heirloom table and Adrian made it a reality…Finally, on July 20 this amazing work of art was delivered and assembled by the WUD team and I haven’t stopped staring at this table that will be passed down for generations and will live on in the houses of our children’s children. Adrian, we are forever grateful for the piece you made for our family.

    Wood Urban Design (W.U.D.) is the best!! Large or small projects, the care and craftsmanship is incredible.We met Adrian and the team about 5 years ago when they helped us remodel portions of our home. When we decided to open The Spice and Tea Exchange of Crystal Lake, we didnt have second thought about who we would ask to help us with our project.We approached W.U.D. several months before starting the project to collaborate with them on how we would accomplish our build out. They completely gutted the original location and help build a beautiful store. Right down to the POS counter that uses a 222 year old white oak tree from the famous Dole Mansion that was removed a couple years a go. All along the way, the W.U.D. team made suggestions and provided guidance on options to consider. We hit several snags but the team stayed with us to the end. The result we think is spectacular. The pictures hopefully give you a peak. Be sure to take note of the front of our store as it was when we started and the finished store.Feel free to stop into the store on Williams Street and we will share more.

    We worked with Adrian and his team to have our beautiful old elm tree milled after it sadly succumbed to Dutch elm disease. Adrian was very responsive to my many questions about the process and he worked with our tree company to coordinate what parts of the tree they would want them to save for lumber. He and his team showed up on time with their equipment and neatly stacked all of the lumber in a convenient spot. We are looking forward to working with Adrian again in a couple of years when the lumber is ready to be turned into furniture!

    Absolutely LOVE my new live edge bench! Adrian and Kuba provided the perfect centerpiece to our mudroom remodel. Love the natural cedar wood look on the white background. Couldnt be happier with the product!

    Adrian from Wood Urban Design did an amazing job. We were struggling with a completion of our fireplace project for months. Then a friend of ours recommended Adrian. He came to our house and within minutes recommended a solution. The countertop was built and installed on time, as promised, and the final work exceeded our expectations. Thank you for a great job!

    I have known Adrian since he first set up his company. He brought artistry and creativity to each project I asked of him. Not only did he create what will be family heirlooms, like the bar table set he made for me from a tree cut down in Wrigleyville ( Cubs fan here) but he brought those of my family back to life. Hopefully the photos I add will illustrate his ability.

    Amazing experience and quality wood. Adrian, the owner and main carpenter, is so professional and has decent prices considering its all custom to order. Definitely recommend here, my boyfriend and I will be coming back to buy some wood decor!!!

    We couldnt be happier with our finished bar top and table tops for our brewery (Perspective Brewing Co.)! We were so happy with the product and service from Wood Urban Design, and we cant wait to work with them on other projects for our brewery!
