    North Country was a 5 star rating from the start. Aaron came out immediately and gave us a quote and also had knowledge on rebates at this time. No one else we got quotes from knew anything about them. He was great to work with from the quote to the end! Great communication through out the whole process.     North Country Plumbing and Heating installed a ductless mini split system in our lake cabin 10/29/24. The system has two heads. We started the process interviewing four companies which had local addresses. We were most impressed with Aaron and this company so we went with them, after researching what all of them had suggested and asking a bunch of questions before agreeing. Aaron was awesome to work with pre-install as far as helping us understand the type of system we were getting installed and making us feel comfortable with the brand and that the size of the system was appropriate. We went over other details such as the location of the heads inside and placement of the system outside. They arrived early on the day of the install just as the sun was coming up. They got things done in a timely manner and were very courteous and professional the day of the installation. We are thrilled with the results. The system works great and we think it looks great too. Aaron also answered questions after the installation--things I wanted to verify to understand the system. There was a fair amount of communication from the beginning of the process until the end and Aaron was great. This is one of the best experiences I have had working with contractors over the years.     We recently bought a new home in the woods and this is my 2nd time calling on services from North Country. Starting with Misty on the phone the process was helpful and assuring the work could be scheduled when we needed and handled in the most efficient manner.I arranged with North Country to have the unit installed by one of their plumbers. Again, Matt came out for the scheduled appointment. How many superlatives can I use to describe Matt? He is professional, skillful, friendly, informative, thorough and very efficient.From my experience, today and previously, I would definitely recommend Matt, Misty & North Country.

    A great experience! After my initial inquiry via their website they reached out immediately and scheduled the plumbing appointment. Matthew L was a very nice guy - fixed us up PDQ and was a pleasure to talk with. He explained a furnace and air conditioning maintenance program they offer and as a 3-season cabin dweller I think we’ll take them up on that. It’s a comfort to have a good local (Crosslake) partner for heating, plumbing and cooling and I’m very happy with the company.

    My wife and I are veterans and I have service-connected disabilities after serving for almost 30 years. Originally from Minnesota, we moved back “home” in 2017 and purchased a property in the Brainerd Lakes Area.In the fall of 2019, our furnace was “red-tagged” by an HVAC company during a yearly checkup. Our credit at the time did not qualify us for a loan and we couldn’t afford to replace the furnace, so we applied for and received an emergency grant through our local Veteran Service Office (VSO) in Brainerd. The VSO staff couldn’t have been more helpful, and we are beyond grateful for their service.In August, 2023 our A/C needed to be replaced so we called “Service Today”, a company that purchased “Air Tech” which is the company that installed the new furnace in 2019 with the assistance of the VSO. “Service Today” no longer operates in the Brainerd area, so we contacted “North Country Plumbing and Heating” of Crosslake (NCPH) after a referral from a neighbor. NCPH replaced our A/C for a reasonable price, offered us a veteran discount, and did great work with retrofitting ducts, piping, etc.In September, 2024 we needed our well pressure tank replaced so we called NCPH, and they replaced the pressure tank, gauge, and switch for a reasonable price and also offered us a veteran discount. The morning after the new pressure tank was installed, a pipe fitting from the well burst, and water sprayed like a geyser for at least 10 minutes into our utility room. The fiber optic Internet equipment, washer, dryer, water softener, FURNACE, and other small appliances are also in the utility room. Due to the amount of water that sprayed out of the well pipe, we contacted our insurance company to see if we should file a claim, but our deductible is fairly high, so filing a claim was not relevant.In mid-September, 2024, the weather was getting chilly enough to run our furnace during the night. We switched the thermostat to heat, but the furnace didn’t work. Remember, our “original” furnace was red-tagged by “Air Tech” that was purchased by “Service Today”.The furnace was still under warranty, so we called NCPH to have them check it out. The technicians at North Country were diligent and spent 3.5 weeks trying to get our furnace working again with new parts, valves, etc. Thankfully, the weather warmed up during that timeframe, so we didn’t really need much heat.We didn’t consider that maybe the furnace “internals” were damaged during the well pipe geyser. Obviously, the furnace manufacturer’s warranty does not cover any damage caused by a water leak, so we were prepared to pack up and go south until we could afford to get the furnace replaced. Then the hurricanes targeted the south. If it wasn’t for bad luck, we’d have no luck at all.On October 9, 2024 NCPH called to follow up. The final verdict; the furnace control board had gotten wet and shorted out. It is beyond rare for a company to suggest that maybe the problem was triggered by something they did, but NCPH offered to replace the furnace. This is unprecedented customer service for us, and writing this letter is the least we can do to recognize this company for its integrity, service, and diligence toward its customers. The “other” HVAC contractors learned the hard way that it’s not always about the bottom line; it’s about doing whatever necessary to keep a customer, and the bottom line will take care of itself.

    We have a small cabin by Merrifield. Its spring time, and time to open up the cabin. We turned on the water and immediately we were greeted a small tidal wave erupting from our burst pipe. (Behind the shower) We made the phone call to North Country Plumbing and Heating. They immediately called back and said that they could have someone there by 1:00 pm. Would that be soon enough? Matthew showed up and 45 minutes later we using water! At a very reasonable rate. Its really nice to have fast, affordable, polite service!

    Our water heater was leaking. North Country arrived on time and repaired the leak promptly. The technician, Matt, was professional explaining everything as he went through the repair. When finished he told us about a program they have to inspect our furnace/air conditioner annually which would give us a discount on the just completed service. Great experience!

    Matt and Jake from North Country Plumbing & Heating were wonderful to work with. They said they were sure they would be able to figure out the issue we were having with a sewer gas smell that had been coming and going at the office for quite some time. We had probably 4 different plumbing companies come over the last couple of years to see if they could figure it out, but they never could.     We had an issue with our soft water conditioner that resulted in plugging up our water lines with small treatment, beads or resin. We called & explained the issue. The lady in the office was very compassionate and understanding. She said she would call the plumbers and see if they were some thing that they could fix. We were called back within 10 minutes, and the plumbers were here within an hour and a half. The plumbers completed their job very well and we had running water in less than an hour. the plumbers were very courteous, very kind and more often than not, humorous. Bottom line is they did excellent work, and we were treated very well. I would not hesitate to recommend them again.

    My situation was quite unique, I own a four season cabin on an island. Our boiler system wasnt working properly and I was worried about finding someone to come to the island in November.     Matt and all the staff at North Country Plumbing did a great job recommending the right equipment and then replacing our leaking water heaters and old water softener with new water heaters and a water conditioning system and an iron filter. All rust and black mold are gone!We cannot recommend them enough!

    Mike, Matt, and the crew did a fantastic job working with us to get a new water softener and iron filtration system installed in our new lake home in Crosslake. Matts work was expedient, tidy, and done correctly. Matt and Mike also went the extra mile to help us repair a shower valve that was out of production vs. having to bust open the wall to install a new valve, which saved us a bunch of money and repairs. Highly recommend for service in the area!
