    I can’t say enough good things about our experience with the design and remodeling of our kitchen and two bathrooms by Thayer Design & Build. Every step of the process went smoothly. The 3-month project started and finished on time. From beginning to end, Jared and the Thayer team were helpful and highly competent. Communication was excellent in all phases of the project and every member of the team was respectful and a pleasure to work with. It was especially enjoyable to work with Jeff and Rory during the construction phase. They were very courteous and adaptable throughout the project. Every request was taken in stride, and they often suggested better solutions to our requests. The quality of the workmanship couldn’t be better, down to the finest details. The professionalism and perfectionism of the Thayer team made the remodeling project an easy and enjoyable experience. These are not words that clients commonly say at the end of a major home remodel. I highly recommend Thayer for whatever your remodeling needs and desires may be.

    Working with Thayer Design Build was a pleasure and everything one could hope for in a major kitchen remodel project. The entire project, from initial meetings with the design team, to starting demo, and then all the way to the final walk-through was done as scheduled and on time. Jeff, the Project Manager, was amazing and would send a text each morning telling us who would be there and what time they would arrive. All of the subs that Thayer uses are pros, and their quality of work and attention to detail is unmatched. Jeff was always there making sure the work was done exactly as specified. At the end of the project we were asked what they could have done different to improve the overall experience of the remodel, and our answer was nothing.     We were completely impressed with Thayer Design Build throughout our kitchen remodeling project. Natalie, our Interior Designer, listened and developed plans that reflected our needs and wants for the new space. During construction we came to completely trust our project manager and greatly appreciated Jeff’s attention to detail and level of care that he brought to the project. Having managed some smaller home remodeling projects on my own, I was completely impressed at their level of coordination with subs and how they stayed on or ahead of schedule throughout the entire four-month project. Each and every Thayer employee and subcontractor was top-notch and I would highly recommend Thayer Design Build for any home remodeling project.

    Everyone on the entire team at Thayer Design/Build is awesome, from the designers to the sub-contractors to the craftsmen who beautifully transformed our family room by designing and building a wall of gorgeous windows and vaulting our dining room ceiling.     It was a pleasure to work with Thayer Design Build to give me my dream kitchen. Jeff, the project manager was very organized and gave us a daily text letting us know what to expect each day. We were also given a print out of the projects time line. All the people that came into our home were friendly and professional. The job site was left clean every evening. Jeff is a perfectionist and added many personal touches that elevated my kitchen to the highest level. The project was completed on time and on budget.     Thayer was an incredible partner for our basement and guest bathroom remodel. We werent sure what we wanted to do with the space to start (except make it better), but Thayer translated our half-formed ideas into beautiful plans.     It has been a pleasure working with Jared and the rest of the Thayer crew on our home renovation project. Our home had extensive exterior renovations that included residing, painting, and replacement of several windows among many other things. The process was well organized and transparent. Sean and Natalie were great to work with, especially during the initial planning stages. Jeff was a fantastic project manager that went the extra mile to make sure that our project came to fruition all while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.     We used Thayer Design Build for our bathroom remodel and basement remodel. It was a pretty extensive project and we are so glad that we went with Thayer! The finished rooms look amazing and we are so happy with how everything turned out. The best part about working with Thayer is the people- everyone is so nice that honestly now that the project is over we miss seeing them! The other thing we loved is that Jared was very honest with us about pricing and timeline from the get go. Our project finished exactly on budget and two weeks early.     We hired Jared and his team to remove our shower stall and update it with a new tub and flooring, as well as update our kitchen and half bath.     I hired Thayer Design-Build to do my whole house remodel last year. I interviewed several design build firms before hiring Jared and his team. In my first phone call with Jared, I was impressed with the questions he asked. Not only did he want to know the scope of the job, but he asked questions that showed that he cared about the relationship that I have with my house. Every person who worked on my house treated my space with the utmost respect. The quality of the work is top notch. In my early conversations with Jared and Natalie, we discussed how I wanted to keep my mid century modern house feeling vintage yet with modern treatments. The end result is more magnificent than I even imagined it would be. And the whole process couldn’t have been more enjoyable! Jeff, the project manager, is absolutely fantastic. It’s a pleasure to have him working in my house and the quality of his work is phenomenal.     We are very happy with the results of our kitchen/dining room remodel completed by Thayer Design Build. We really were novices in dealing with contractors and home improvement. I am so grateful that we selected Thayer. I cannot imagine how stressful the process would have been if we did not have full confidence in the staff and subcontractors. We really appreciated the communication, extra care and expertise that we experienced with Carpenter Rory and Senior Project M manager Jeff. At the end of each day, everything was cleaned up and vacuumed. Production Manager Sean made sure we knew what was happening each day even after we had been supplied with a project calendar. We were texted each evening about arrival times of subcontractors. The project was completed on the day it was scheduled to end so we could host our extended family Christmas dinner.

    I honestly am not sure how to add to all the superlatives and positive reactions that have already been said about Thayer Design, Jared, and crew. Ditto to all! Perhaps what speaks most to how much we like this business is that fact that after using them for a small exterior door installation, when it was time to tackle a massive lower level remodel, we didnt even consider using anyone else other than Thayer. Yes, its their quality of work, but more than that, its Jareds commitment to Integrity, with a capital I. And when you deal with a company that ensures that all employees carry this same quality, its always going to be a win for the customer. Even if something goes awry, you know with absolute certainty that it will be made right. Everyone associated with the Thayer name is professional, kind, genuine, funny....we feel like we have made lifelong friends.     Thayer Construction did a full kitchen remodel and added a laundry room off the kitchen, This project for my husband and I is the best experience weve had with construction.     We have had our basement fully remodeled by Thayer Construction. For us, this was a big job. It involved building a new egress, waterproofing, new drains, pipes, electrical, carpentry, floors, bathroom, etc. They have done an amazing job, going over and beyond our expectations.The level of care and attention to all details that Jared and his team are committed to is exceptional. The basement is now transformed. Fully functional, bright, comfortable, and very very beautiful. A great addition to our home.Throughout the construction (~ 2 months) Jared and his team kept excellent communication, sharing of photos, updates, and involvement in planning. We had a long trip during the remodeling, and even from far away, we felt like we were there the whole time. We received daily updates with photos and commentaries! If there were important decisions to be made, we were promptly briefed ahead of time, so that we could give our input. Sometimes this involved videos, photos, and phone calls. But all was made very easy for us.Everybody at Thayer construction is skilled and very respectful. Jeff, Jared, and Nathan were doing most of the work at our home. Jeff is super talented, creative, and committed to excellence. Jared was always on hand to make sure everything was going according to plan and to our complete satisfaction. Nathan is a great guy, skilled, and very respectful and kind. Subcontractors were also all great. This is a unique company.     Thayer Construction did a beautiful job on my ceiling. It was damaged by a water leak which required removal of a large section of dry wall. Our ceilings have a smooth, unforgiving finish. Annoyingly, we had a similar but even larger leak 2 years ago (nothing to do with Thayer) and Jeff Cedarleaf repaired the damage then. He did such an amazing job that we sought him out again to fix it this time (he worked for a different company then). Once again, he exceeded expectations-which is hard to do since perfection is all I expect from him.Jared Thayer is responsive, prompt and professional. Jeff is a perfectionist, paying attention to every detail. He is considerate, professional, always on time, and does his job with great integrity. If he was a surgeon, Id trust him operate on me (and Im a surgeon).

    Thayer Construction recently completed a basement “refresh” for me and I was very pleased with the results. Both Jared and his partner/wife were very responsive to phone, email, text and my many questions. I was really impressed with Jared’s flexibility. Due to some circumstances outside my control, the project had to be started, stopped and then started again. Jared handled the changes with much grace and good humor. One of the most delightful aspects of working with Jared was the creativity and artistry he contributed to the design of the project. What I proposed was a fairly standard (read: bland) basement project. Jared suggested some design changes that really made the space not only functional, but special and unique as well. The team who came to my house were all talented professionals who, as a added bonus, left a clean, orderly work area at the end of the day. I would recommend Thayer Construction without reservation and should any remodeling or construction needs arise, would happily work with them again.

    Jared and crew just completed a kitchen remodel for us . We are very happy with the results and would use them again in the future. Coordination of all phases of construction were very smooth and cleanup was exceptional throughout. This is not the first time we have used Jared and crew.     Jared from Thayer Construction was one of multiple bidders for replacing an original 1950s, oversized and somewhat complicated patio door for a very high end product. I took note upon our meeting how detail oriented he was. How much he actually cared about how the final product was going to look and where the details could be missed. I was even impressed how he contacted me more than once to make sure I had what I needed and to let me know how interested in the job he was. That passion and perseverance helped galvanize my decision. And I’m elated I did as the crew, specifically Jeff, are nothing short of incredible craftsmen. The thought, time, detail and care they put in shows what they do isn’t just a job, it’s their signature and their reputation. Perfection was clear throughout. I know because I too rely on incredibly fine details and scrutiny in my position. I hold ludicrously high standards for myself and feel for situations like fine home remodeling, those I hire should uphold the same. Thayer absolutely met my standards and gave me hope for what a construction team could be. And this is why I look forward to working with them for future projects and why you should hire them for your current job.

    My kitchen remodel was great! I was given a calendar and they made all dates even some ahead of schedule. Jeff is fantastic. He texts you daily as to when he will arrive, keeps a neat organized work place and handles all issue calmly and efficiently. All emails are addressed in a timely manner.     We embarked on a full kitchen, 2 bath, plus some custom work remodel with Thayer Construction in September 2020. From our first meeting with Jared I knew that our project was in good hands. Every aspect of the project was handled with a level of professionalism, attention to detail, patience, and conscientiousness that made our existence (we lived and worked in our downstairs through the remodel) not only tolerable, but actually kind of enjoyable. The fremodel included taking down some walls, building a clad support structure and handling plumbing and electrical issues related to the wall-removal.     We had Thayer Construction come out to install a bathroom exhaust fan that also required new roof venting, reworked electrical, and ceiling repair and retexturing. We took photos of the project and sent them to Jared, and he responded quickly with an estimate. When we accepted, Jeff came to the property to talk over the project with me.This was during the Covid-19 pandemic, and Jeff showed up with gloves, a mask, and was very careful about maintaining social distance.After looking over the project, Jeff came back a few days later to start. He was very professional and did an excellent job both on the ceiling exhaust fan as well as all the post-install cleanup, and Jared was in communication with me several times, from the original estimate through job completion.They even came in under the estimated cost.I would not hesitate to use Thayer construction again for remodeling jobs.

They have done numerous projects for us and each one has been carefully planned, promptly completed and fairly priced. Careful selection of subcontractors is definitely a plus. We waited several months to replace our bathroom floor, because the best tile installer was not available. It was worth the wait. We are thrilled with the result.

From the outset, Thayer construction took care of everything from consulting with engineering, to making sure our home space was clean and safe after the work day so we could use the area with our two young kids. And everything was completed in a very timely manner. We felt we got exactly what we paid for with excellent customer service to top it all off.     Jared and his team just did a wonderful job on our basement remodel and we are so grateful. This remodel followed a pipe break in December that was very financially and emotionally debilitating for us.     We liked our old bathroom, but it no longer served our needs. The Thayer team designed a beautiful functional new space for us. Prices have soared, and its not anyones fault that we got a new bathroom just when prices soared. Natalies design was slightly undermined by Donns insistence on keeping the old light fixture, but hes happy, and that counts. Everything is very easy to clean, and works like magic. Sean was so impressive! If we run into some pile of money well hire them again for the laundry room.

    Jared found some time on short notice to come look at my patio roof. We were in the middle of a siding project and when I removed the soffit, I found old dry rot from a leak fixed long ago. Our timeline was short and somehow Jared fit us into the schedule. His guys came and fixed the problem in little more than half a day. It was some delicate work, as part of the roof decking was rotted. The roof is flat and has a vinyl membrane on it. They managed to cut out the rot and replace the decking as well as a beam without damaging the vinyl. They also diagnosed and fixed a problem I hadnt noticed. The rafters were pulling away from the outside beam; they had no brackets. That was potentially worse than the dry rot issue! Jeff has a good eye for detail and great carpentry skills. I would definitely call Thayer construction again for a small job, and they would be my first choice for a more significant project as well.

As a bonus, he even picked up and assembled a new office chair from a nearby store as well as shelving for the garage.     Bathroom remodel highlights: cost, trust, quality of work, friendliness and flexibility. He was great!The grout and tile work looks amazing and we have gotten the most compliments on that part of our remodel. The finished product of our whole bathroom was really done well and we ended up very pleased. The floor is perfect, the vanity looks great, and all the floor boards and seals are excellent. He was friendly and flexible working around our kids and crazy schedules. He addressed my concerns right away. He was easy to get ahold of and even easier to talk to about what we wanted in our remodel. I also really appreciated that he made the small decisions on his own without asking us every little question, but also included us if he wasnt sure what wed like best. It was a really nice balance.The were some areas that could be improved upon from our perspective. We were a bit disappointed when the job was not finished when we were initially expecting, but we understand there were things out of his control. Keeping us in the loop a bit more would have made us feel better about the delays, however, he was apologetic and came to finish as soon as he could.All that said, we really were pleased with the finished product. We chose to work with Thayer Construction because when he came for the estimate, we liked his confidence, friendliness, and because the estimate was one of the lowest. The estimate was very close to the final cost, which was another great area. We were very pleased with what he charged (and didnt charge us for).     We have many huge picture windows that needed re-caulked on the exterior. It required tedious repair with a messy caulk substance and high ladders. A Thayer repair man did the entire job in just a couple afternoons. He even went back to the shop to retrieve the “best” product for the job. We would have never know what to use or how to apply it.
