    Donā€™t usually do reviews but this one is well deserved. I couldnā€™t be happier with the hydro jetting service I received when I had tree roots in my main drain. Before I hired them I called a few of the top rated services to get pricing and availability. Some others werenā€™t up front with pricing and others quoted me almost double what Zippy did. Everyone I spoke with or interacted with from this company was extremely polite, kind and did not pressure me into booking service immediately. The service techs who came to the house were also kind, polite, answered all my questions and made common sense recommendations for continued maintenance. They didnā€™t try to upsell me or solicit a long term service contract. There just did the job at hand (quickly) and I was happy to pay for the level of service they provided. Theyā€™ve earned the right to be my first call for drain issues in the future and I will absolutely recommend them to others without hesitation.

    Seth was a great advocate for me with my insurance company. We had grease in our line and instead of just pushing a hole through it and let it solidify later, he got his scope out and made sure all the grease was cleaned out from access point through the main line. Highly suggest them if you need someone that isnā€™t just going to ā€œopen the lineā€ and move on.

    Mike was able to come and unclog our sewer within just an hour after I put in a service request. He also explained what he did, thoughts on what it was and discussed options for future issues. I was receiving a new dishwasher same night from a different company who couldnā€™t install due pipes needing replaced. Mike was able to get me scheduled right away. Excellent customer service!

    Outstanding service at a fair price! Called around 5pm on a Saturday for a sewer backup. Zippy Drain was on site within the hour and had everything flowing in short order. Highly recommended!

    I had a plumbing emergency early on a Sunday morning which in itself is not ideal for anyone to deal with. Zippy Drain answered my call on the second ring, took my info and said they would have someone call me right back, which was actually literal, as I received a call within 2 minutes. The person calling named Ian, said he was on his way.... Within 30 minutes he was here and got right to work. He was so helpful, went right to work, DID NOT MAKE ANY MESS WHATSOEVER, which is extremely difficult in a clogged sink drain and he did not try to extend time whatsoever on me. He was extremely polite, he was very professional and respectful of my home and he went out of his way to show me what he was doing and how he did it. I had never heard of this company before but will definitely be using them in the future. I would suggest asking for Ian if you can... I am not sure if they take employee requests but if they are willing, you definitely want him to come. Im sure all of their employees are great based on reviews but with this kind of experience, I know I would be asking for him... I definitely see why the reviews are high... On top of this, for a Sunday morning call, the price was extremely rare... The 5 star rating is more than deserved for them!

    Due to a drain flooding part of our basement we were forced to search for emergency plumbers on a Saturday night. I contacted two companies. Zippy was able to send someone within the hour versus the other company that didnā€™t even call me back until the next day.We were very happy with our visit from Ian. He quickly diagnosed it as a blocked sewer line. He was in and out quickly, explained the problem thoroughly, and cleaned up after himself. Weā€™ve had bad luck with other plumbers so weā€™re happy to have a quality one on standby now.

I called this morning and was scheduled for this afternoon but he was able to come by even earlier than expected, which was very much appreciated considering the main house drain was clogged.     Our main drain had backed up Friday night. Called Zippy the next morning and they said theyd make it on Saturday, but it would be afternoon as there were so many in front of us. Surprised to hear from Chris before 11am, as others did not answer. He came, assessed, brought in The Machine, and got to work. Was done in less than 40 minutes! Great work - we were so thankful for his time and WOW... great prices! I hope they are paying themselves and their workers well as they do great work. Thank you so much!

    Amazing service. Had a clogged pipe they were able tome out the same day and they stayed true to the price quoted over the phone. No hidden add-ons. The technician was professional, thorough, and did not leave any mess. Also had the back out to inspect our water heater on a different call. That technician was also very through and patient as we discussed what resolutions can be looked into. Highly recommend this company for your service needs.

    We had a kitchen drain backup the night before Christmas Eve. We had to call the emergency line to have someone come out at 1:00am to come save the day. Not only was the service person knowledgeable, he was very pleasant, and even offered tips for how to prevent future Christmas Eve Eve mishaps. 100% recommend!

    Nate came over today to unclog our main pipe. We werent given a time frame of when he was suppose to get here. We called at 11:30am, he got back to me at 11:50, and was finishing up a job and at our place by 12:13. We didnt expect to get help so zippy since every other place was closed on Saturdays and the earliest was going to be Tuesday or Thursday. Nate was on call today and we are so glad he was!! He was very professional, speedy, but knowing exactly what he was doing and was able to let us know what was going on. Even gave us a suggestion to use a camera to check our pipes and make sure they were okay. He was done at about exactly an hour, and please, seriously dont let him get in trouble for this, but he gave us a bit of a break, which we really needed at this time, so Im very thankful for that. It was 217 dollars in total, which we really thought it was going to cost more. We were able to give him some goodies and water for his next trip. Hope you liked it! But overall, We are very satisfied with Zippy Drain and Nate. We will definitely be giving yall a call anytime we have any issues and definitely be spreading the word!!     We had two clogged toilets, bathroom sink and tub just at closing time for most businesses. Zippy Plumbing was one of the companies called. Ian was the service provider. Called to let us know he was on his way, very personable and looked for the most efficient way to solve our problem. Less than an hour and everything was unclogged. Very happy with the prompt and efficient service.

    VERY happy with my experience! Zippy Drain was able to get two technicians out to my home very quickly after my first call. Nash and Nate were the techs that came out and they were fantastic! Both were very nice, knowledgeable, and fast! They got my main line unplugged quickly and explained what the problem was and how to avoid future problems.     Saturday evening labor day weekend. 45 min response time. Very efficient,polite and all business in a nice way. I called at least 4 other regular plumbing companies and they only uplug lines during regular business hours. I will call this company first next time. They specialize in this of work. No question about it! The other guys are 9 to 5 ā€œunpluggersā€. Actually had one of the 4 plumbing companies recommend them. I think, per previous adventures, they were cheaper.

    Nate and Seth were amazing!I had a toilet backing up and water coming up through the shower and also not draining on a Sunday.Whoever was on call on 9/11/22 (sorry I cant remember the name) was also super helpful and walked us through how to postpone the problem until Monday when it would be a lot cheaper for them to come out and assist with the problem.Nate and Seth came out and were on time, professional, personable, and super knowledgeable as well.They fixed our problem and gave us tips on what new toilet to buy for our home.The pricing was also very fair for everything that they did.Id definitely recommend this company to anyone in need of plumbing assistance.

    We recently put our house on the market but had some sort of blockage in the main sewer line per the home inspection. Contacted Zippy Drain (via a friends referral) first thing in the morning and they were able to come out same day that afternoon. Went to the house and met with Nash and Nate. Both were super friendly and very professional. Very direct, knowledgeable, and knew exactly what they were doing.     My kitchen sink backed up. Called on Sunday and told them I could wait until Monday. They called before 8am on Monday to confirm an appointment between noon and 2. I received a follow-up call at 11:30 asking if they could send the tech. He arrived, spent about 15 minutes working to clear the drain. Fast and courteous. Good price, too (about $100). I would recommend.

    Nobody plans the sewer clog. These guys were great at getting me in within a few hours of me calling them, and it was a Friday afternoon. The dispatch gal was super friendly and helpful, too. Another company that I called was booked until Tuesday, and my former go-to still hasnt called me back.Seth did a great job and was very communicative with me during the process to explain what he thought was happening and why, and he had a great attitude!I may have found a new Go-to for my rental properties, and I will certainly recommend this crew to my real estate clients!Thanks, Seth!

    I had Roto-Rooter out 4 days earlier spent one hour working on my drain and tried charging me $565, after showing him his mistake reading a clock he charged me $297 and said I needed to spend 10k-25k for a new line. Spoke with Zippy and set up an appt, Ian arrived early, completed a full clear in less than 30 minutes, charged half of what Roto-Rooter did, actually CLEANED up the mess they left behind and followed up with two calls. Great to restored my faith in humanity, will never use anyone other than Zippy! THANKS SO MUCH!

    I filed my home warranty claim last night and received a call right away from Zippy Drain Cleaning. Seth arrived to my home and was very knowledgeable and friendly! Seth explained everything that he was doing, and also gave some very helpful recommendations to solve the current issue, and to prevent this issue from happening in the future. After he resolved my issue Seth went above and beyond and cleaned up just as it was before(if not better) and gave me a very well written report of what he had done to resolve my issue! I would highly recommend this company (especially Seth) and will definitely be using this company for any future issues!

    I called Zippy drain to deal with a clogged sinkdrain. The two young men, Nate and Nate,who showed up worked their Fannies off trying to unplug it. They scheduled another crew to blow or blast the line open. When the second crew arrived one of the guys, Ian, asked if he could try another way first. Well it opened the drain and saved me the cost of the power blasting. Highly recommend Zippydrain and will rely on them for any future issues. On a side note I mentioned that my washer drain pump had broken and I had to wait a month for a repairman. Ian immediately called his friend Kris at Nebraska Home Appliance Repair and they agreed to come out in 2 weeks which they did and replaced the pump in short work. See my review for them at their website. No more going to the laundromat or washing dishes by hand thanks to both these professional companies.

    We had a drain stopped in our basement, we called Zippy Drain first thing in the morning and they had someone at our house before noon.     Late day yesterday, we had a toilet gushing water from the base. Ian was out first thing this morning. After assessing the situation, he quickly diagnosed the issue. He explained it to me and let me know what needed to be done. We had gone out and bought a new toilet last night as we feared the worse. He let me know he could fix it without having to replace it. I let him know we wanted it replaced and he was done in 30 minutes. I received the invoice and was relieved to see how reasonable it was.

    We had a sewage situation in our basement and they got someone here quickly. He was great...kind, professional and courteous. Unfortunately, he alone was unable to fix the problem. They were able to get another crew, with different equipment, here the same day. They were able to break through the blockage and determine that there was no damage to the pipe. They were equally courteous and professional. We still had some clean up due to the nature of our sewage incident but they were very considerate of flooring and keeping the mess to a minimum. I hope I donā€™t ever have this issue again, but if I do, I will call them.

    Found a surprise issue with our drain in the basement. Put in a call to DM excavation as per our home warranty, the office staff was very pleasant and understanding and got back to me promptly. Nate and Seth showed up on time, they were clean, polite, and professional. I didnā€™t think to have stuff cleared out of the way and they both sprang to helping me. I know service work can be hard on people but I didnā€™t get anything but cheerful out of these two. We would definitely recommend them and use them again for other work.

The job ended up being bigger than I expected (needed to replace some of the pipe in addition to snaking) but Seth was able to get it all taken care of for us quickly and it cost quite a bit less than I expected. We have a 110 year old house with a problematic main stack and a hard to reach clean-out but Nate and Seth were able to find a great solution and solve my problem in less than an hour!Im very pleased with Zippy Drain and will be recommending them to my friends.     Seth Owens and Nate K. Did an amazing job from start to finish. Hereā€™s what they did that an other company, Jet Surge, did not. 1) they were able to identify the issue during their first trip as a grease clog in our grey water line that runs separately of our septic 2) they attempted to fix the issue during their first trip in case it wasnā€™t a grease clog that required different equipment, by running a cable through the drain AND even walking around my woods area to see if they could find where the grey water was run in case it had become clogged by erosion. 3) they came back after the new year holiday with their jet equipment and were able to fix the clog and even walked my woods once more to see if they could find where the grey line was run while the jet was going even though the clog had been fixed at that point in time. They then took the time to walk me to the general area they thought the grey line was run based off the smell. We couldnā€™t reach it due to the thorny briars but this was EXTREMELY HELPFUL and ABOVE AND BEYOND what we needed. We had been searching for the grey water line in the wrong way and now have a better idea of where to find it in case need to know that in the future. They did all this for less money than Jet Surge charged us, who were unable to even fix our problem. What they didnā€™t do that the other company did, 1)they didnā€™t leave the hose to my washing machine on the ground behind my machine, left to drain water across my basement floor. 2) they didnā€™t check my septic tank and left the lid off of it for two days before we noticed 3) they didnā€™t lie to us about what was causing the problem, or the work that they did. They were fast, informative, polite and very detailed in their explanation of the work they were doing.

    I had a different company come less than 3 weeks ago and fix my drain clog that was causing sewer backup into my basement. It had already clogged again and that company was rude and wanted me to pay them all over again. Instead I called Zippy Drain and someone came the same day. They cleared what turned out to be a stubborn clog. Before leaving, but after doing all paperwork etc... He said, lets go test it one last time to be SURE its working. They didnt want me to be left in the same boat. It was a nice touch. The technician was friendly, polite, and in a much better mood than I was while digging into clogged sewer grossness!

    Had them come out to clean pipe. Pipe had a hole in it and it needed to be replaced. Instead of choosing the option of digging up on basement floor, we decided to have them tie in that pipe to a second drain pipe. The new pipe looks awful. It hangs too low from the ceiling, the metal ties are poorly done; for the cost of doing it, it is should have been done better. I wont be using their service again.Updated: Owner came out and agreed that to replace the installed pipe at no cost. The 2nd installers were great. Very satisfied with the new pipe.

    Coming down my finished basement steps I saw water in my utility room -again. My thoughts flashed to the $1700+ total I had paid mostly to RotoRooter who had descaled my pipes a couple months prior only to have everything start backing up again about a month ago on a Saturday morning causing me to have RotoRooter send a new guy come out and diddle around clueless, for over 3 hours @ time & a half. Thats when I found out RotoRooters staff are on commission and that the auger head he finally used to break the clog is the one I would have used 3 hours prior.Vowing to never use RotoRooter again I called Bobs a cheaper yet reasonable service I had used once before and to my relief they said the could immediately come out. Unfortunately after arriving they said they had a new machine and it wouldnt be long enough to make the 145 feet they had measured to the sewer on the other side of the street. I asked for a reference and they gave me a company name and a couple names to avoid. I called the reference -Smiths and they said the could come out in 3 days which meant no showers, dishes or flushing for 3 days and meanwhile the sewer water might continue to accumulate and escape my unfinished utility room. I asked for a reference We dont do that.I started calling smaller companies listed online that showed that they cleared clogged sewer lines and could only leave messages. Finally on the 4th try I called Zippy Sewer and a human answered. She said Yes they serviced Ankeny, could go 145 feet out. Yes they can come today. I asked When -Let me Check; we can fit you in next. Awesome! How Much? $102 for the first hour and $90 and hour after. Come on out! In a little over an hour their technician was on site and asking questions. He was the first to ask if the floor drain cover came off? I told him we had never removed it in the 25 years since we built the house and no service that has ever asked me that question. He asked me several other questions and went to work. In under an hour he had the drain cover off and the drain unclogged. He showed me the source of the clog - a lot of rust (assumably from when RotoRooter descaled my pipes -this is actually deburring or grinding out the internal rust accumulation of your iron pipes because as rust accumulates the pipes flow inside gets thinner) and a wad of TP from 20 feet down the drain. Because he only had to use his smaller machine my total was $90.95 (cash or credit) and he was out the door in under an hour.I know that unclogging sewer pipes is a nasty business full of people looking to take advantage of homeowners in the middle of their catastrophe of water from the sewer backing up into and damaging their homes. If you have had it happen you know exactly what I mean. Some companies claim 24x7 service but their adds dont tell you that service may not be for days. Others may come right out look at your house and try and guess your bank account size so they can run up the bill and pad their commission check.I would recommend Zippy Drain to anyone and everyone, from what I can see their business model is based on service and honesty. Hopefully I wont need them again but if I do they will be my only call.

    Seth at Zippy Drain did a wonderful job and we didnā€™t make it easy. We donā€™t have a door near the basement, our dining table takes up most of the space in a room leading to the basement, and a lot of dress clothes and coats are hung up in the laundry room in front of the stairwell to the basement. We also had a child gate he had to maneuver too. Despite all obstacles he got right to work, carrying in heavy machinery. He kept us updated the entire time, was knowledgeable, and also had to deal with rain prior to leaving. I didnā€™t envy his work today at all and am sure he doesnā€™t get paid enough. I have had several different drainage companies out over the years for this same problem and the other guys never really took the time that Nate at zippy did. he was awsome he showed up first thing in the morning just like he said he would. despite the snow storm we just had and the freezing temps. he stayed as along as it took to make sure the problem was fixed right.     The sewer line draining our washing machine backed up out of the floor drain in our basement on a Saturday night at 8 PM. We called Zippy and Ian was out within 30 minutes. As soon as he arrived I immediately knew we were in good hands. He identified the problem, brought his machine in, and the obstruction cleared within an hour. He went above and beyond to make sure we knew what was happening and what to do if it happened again. On top of that, the price was extremely reasonable, especially for after-hours emergency service. We will definitely be calling Zippy for all of our plumbing needs!

    Called at 7:30 am, Dylan was here by 8:35. We were unable to have house water turned on due to a pipe leaking. A small opening to drywall was required to reach pipe but Dylan assured us it would be as small as possible. Dylan was able to complete the repair and appeared as happy as we were to turn our water back on. Thank you, thank you. We were very grateful we were a priority since we didnt have water. Dylan was kind and courteous. Would call them again!

    Nate came out to address a sewer line that was backed up with water in our basement. He was incredibly helpful and fast! It was refreshing to have him explain what the drain was for and how often to clean out the built up sediment. It was a major comfort to us first-time homeowners. Cant recommend them enough!

    We had called another plumbing company to come to our house last week and they ended up no showing us. So we called zippy and they came the same day we called! Nate was great. He came in and knew exactly what needed to be done. He was very quick and friendly. We had our basement drain/sewer unclogged.
