Excellent Service throughout the years and I have always been happy with the installation and maintenance of my generator. I originally chose DM Shaver Inc. to purchase my Kohler generator due to the companys reputation as being a leader for generator service in our area. There were 3 other companies to choose from, but I have never regretted choosing DM Shaver to provide mine.I have maintained a service agreement with them since the day of installation and it is an annual fee that is well spent. They come by twice a year to inspect and test my system and one of those times, they perform the required annual maintenance where they change the oil & filter, air filter, spark plugs and verify system operation. They have provided me with a worry free system that has never failed to provide electricity for my home through some pretty nasty storms. If I had it to do all over again, I would definitely choose them again. Very dependable and professional.

When my contractor failed to service my home generator as specified in our contract, I called DM Shaver to perform the annual service required to maintain my extended warranty. They were prompt and professional and serviced the generator within a couple of days.

Simply owning an emergency generator for your home is not enough. For it to do you any good during an ice storm outage, the generator, like any other engine that lives it’s life outdoors, must be regularly maintained. I have owned a 12,000 watt system for 17 years and it continues to operate flawlessly thanks to DM Shaver’s outstanding service technician Scott Smith. In addition to twice yearly check-ups and routine maintenance Scott has performed major surgery during inclement weather conditions to keep my generator running. Being elderly, it is indeed a comfort to know that the generator will work when the need presents itself! The folks at DM Shaver are professionals, and nice people!

We had our Kohler generator installed by D.M. Shaver in 2018. We have had them service it annually since that time, and it has worked flawlessly on the occasions where we have lost power.For us, a generator was to be an insurance policy to protect us from being without power in freezing weather and to provide power to allow us to stay in our home during an extended power outage of several days, not for weeks. Therefore, we were leaning toward a smaller generator that would not supply power to all circuits in the house. A further complication was that, because of a situation unique to our home, the transfer panel would have to be installed on a pole outside the home.The wiring for a generator installed this way is more complicated than for a generator sized to supply the entire home. We got quotes from several companies. None were enthusiastic about installing a generator this way, and they either didn’t supply a quote for this type of installation, or their quotes reflected a significant upcharge.Dan Shaver discussed other options with us, but he understood and accepted our position, and worked with us to properly size the generator for the circuits we wanted to supply and to educate us about the issues with the size propane tank we would need. The work was done on time and the property was left in good condition after the work was done. He was responsive to questions we had after the installation by phone and e-mail.Getting a generator from D.M. Shaver has proved to be the right decision for us, and we would recommend Dan and his company highly to anyone looking to install a generator.

It was almost the same cost to purchase a maintenance package, as to just fix the unit, so they offered me the maintenance. We had a 20kw Kohler generator installed by Dan and we were thrilled with every aspect of the process. He was quick and easy to communicate with at all times during the process. From the day I initially contacted him all the way through until completion he was very easy to get a hold of to ask questions. We were lucky enough to get on the schedule and had our project completed in about 2-3 weeks once I made the choice to move forward. All of their work was well thought out and clean. We would happily recommend them to anyone else in the market for this type of product.

Six month oil change and complete unit inspection. Asked if we had any questions or concerns with the units operation. I inquired about the loudness of the unit and was told that it is a little louder than the other units in the neighborhood and nothing could be done to stifle the loudness. However, I am happy with choosing DM Shaver, Inc. as the contractor and would purchase this same product again based upon reviews related to a competing brand.
