    We have been using Metric for plumbing, heating and cooling jobs big and small for years. There is no job that they cant handle.Their staff and technicians are the best. They are friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. The are a large enough company that they can have someone at your place whenever you need them but small enough that you get to know everyone personally. While they are not inexpensive they guarantee their work and will make sure that the customer is happy with their results.

    Metric has been fantastic! The whole team is amazing, attentive, patient and accommodating! My third floor renovation required a lot of plumbing and a new mini split unit which they handled from start to finish.     One of the last businesses of its kind. Third generation family run business that provides excellent quality work, great communication, fair pricing and accountability.Metric replaced a 400,000 BTU boiler for us. Huge job that requires expertise and coordination rarely available from heating and cooling contractors today. Most contractors I called said they didn’t know how to replace a unit that big.Metric mobilized 3 separate teams for our job within 12 hours of bid acceptance. They communicated expectations and timelines up front and continued to do so every step of the way. Everyone from the guys actually replacing our unit to their accounting department were a pleasure to work with.Metric is how I imagine service businesses used to be before we were all forced to accept mediocrity from contractors who lie, steal, and otherwise pull the wool over your eyes on most jobs. Recommend 100%.

    During the hottest week of the summer, as Murphy’s Law would have it, our air conditioner on the first floor stopped working. Despite the fact that we were not regular customers, Gary Jr. responded immediately. He and his team made sure that a new A/C was properly installed and serviced the other A/C unit for the upper levels of the house. Metric’s team responded quickly, professionally, and provided quality service. We highly recommend them!

    Alan and Gary Jr. were just outstanding in their responsiveness and help. Courtesy and professionalism are their mark, we have been customers of Metric for over 25 years, and they do outstanding work. Alan replaced our heater in December, and he was just so superb in his professionalism and attitude and courtesy we recommend them unconditionally to everyone, they are absolutely the best. Alan came today immediately to fix our air conditioning, and it is now working perfectly. Shout out to Metric!!

    Ive been a customer of Metric Plumbing for years and their work has always been extremely high quality but tonight was a different kind of situation; I had a true emergency and it was after hours. I was able to connect with the owner (Gary Jr.) and, within 15 minutes, he was at my home investigating the issue. He immediately diagnosed the issue, devised a plan/solution, and put us on the path to having it resolved urgently (which included his help in connecting with the Township Water Department after hours for a piece of the work that could only be performed by them). The entire situation was resolved in one evening, for which I owe Gary a ton of thanks! Metric has always been pretty responsive when weve needed them, but that level of responsiveness, friendliness, and expertise - directly from the owner - really put them over top for me and my family tonight. Thanks again to Gary Jr and Gary Sr!

    I’ve had 3 plumbing situations occur in the past few months, (well 1 plumbing and 2 AC) and Metric was great for both. The office was super professional and organized, they fit me in conveniently and the workers showed up right on time.Kept everything clean, and were nice guys all around.     Metric plumbing and HVAC are great company! My family from growing up has relied on them since they moved to Cedar Grove in 1984 & I will continue to devote all of my plumbing and hvac needs onto them. My AC was never wired correctly and their on call staff Allen was able to come over on a Sunday morning to sort out the issues. Gary Sr. runs an outstanding company and I’m sure my friend Gary Jr. will follow in his fathers footsteps, starting out as a great manager. Metric services all areas of NJ.     Called Metric to come do a standard AC maintenance on a new home we purchased. Wanted to try a local business to see if they were worth it.Long story short, they found a major problem with our old HVAC unit that wasnt a straight-forward fix. Gary came by to fully explain the problem and possible solutions. Left it up to us to determine what we wanted to do. He provided many options and fully explained what each would cost and what it would entail. Ended up using them to fully replace our HVAC system.     I cant say enough about Angelo from Metric. He came within one hour of calling as we had found a small leak in a pipe that clearly had been going on for quite some time. He was efficient, friendly, neat and gave great advice on how to remedy the problem. Angelo also identified a larger pipe that was original to the house (from the 1950s) that clearly needed repair. He assisted in setting up an appointment for the following day to replace the larger, second pipe that needed to be replaced. Both he and another Metric plumber, Mike, showed up on time the following day and did the same quality work in my home. Their pricing was fair and the quality of their work was excellent! I highly recommend Metric Plumbing!

    We have used Metric several times over the past 13+ years and we have always found their crews to be friendly, respectful and honest. Most of the time we need them when were in jam vs something planned and they have always showed up the same day. One time was 2 days before Thanksgiving when the water heater from the previous home owner died. They showed up and were able to get us a new one and switch it from electric to gas all before the out-of-town guesses showed up. Unfortunately the water heater died again on a Sunday several years later, but they came, helped shut it down so we were safe with the water running all over the place and were there first thing Monday morning to replace it.They are our go to plumbers.

    We were having problems getting hot water quickly in the shower. It would take over 5 minutes before the water turned hot. We called Metric based on my daughters recommendation. Gary Jr. came and found a couple of things wrong and fixed them on the spot. Made adjustments to mixing valve and wanted to see in the AM if it got better . It didn’t so Angelo came out next day, change cartridge and re adjusted valve which was not set up properly by contractors plumber. We now have instant hot water. Can’t thank Metric enough. They are now are plumbers

    Gary, Sal and the entire staff at Metric are considerate, knowledgeable and dependable. We can rely on them to respond to our plumbing and heating needs, regardless of the day or hour. Example: The boiler in our rental property failed in the middle of the pandemic, and Gary, Sal and their crew were able to replace it within a few days, even though it was a very complicated job, involving the chimney liner being replaced and all that goes with a steam heating system in a 100+ year old house. This is why we think they are the best, because over the course of 28 years they have stepped up for many a crisis like this most recent one, as well as ordinary plumbing needs.

    Alan Strauss and his company think everything through very carefully. And they took the time to explain to me whats really going on in the machinery. (Which is hard for a non-plumber like me to understand.) Theyll do a process of elimination to find the problem and fix it. The prices are comparable. And even after the job is done, they follow up to confirm its working well.Ive worked with Mr. Strauss for many years, and can point to many successful, innovative projects hes done around my house. After a rain-storm caused flooding in a power outage, he installed a sump pump thats water-powered, believe it or not.
