Just used The Good Contractor website for the first time to find a company to fix my garage door that wouldnt go up or down. What a great experience!!! I chose a company from their list of recommendations and they sent an email to the company and I was called within an hour. The company came out 30 minutes later and fixed the garage door. I was expecting it to be an ordeal and take all day so I was pleasantly surprised. They even sent me a thank you email for using their company. I would definitely recommend The Good Contractor and Ive already decided to use them for my next issue - a non-working ice-maker.

I found a contractor who quoted me 1/3 of the original quote. And with a little more info, The Good Contractors contractor found we still had a warranty and paid even less. I will turn to The Good Contractors List first next time!

Gus Gutierrez Painting Company just completed painting the exterior of my home. I have nothing but good things to say about Gus and his well trained crew. I first want to say Gus gave me a fair no nonsense bid which I appreciated. His crew was very professional and well trained starting work as soon as they arrived. The first day was prep work with a good power washing and masking off of border surfaces. The second day the fun began as two van loads of workers attacked my house with a well thought out plan. With caulk guns in hand and more masking tape with paper they sealed every crack and crevice in preparation for the paint. Everyone knows the prep work is the most time consuming and will dictate the quality of work to follow. These guys and gal got it right because the finished product is awesome. This company did a great job for me and did it in the blazing Texas heat. I recommend Gus Gutierrez Painting Company to anyone that wants quality paint work on their home at a fair price.

I recently used The Good Contractor List to find a concrete contractor. I had originally hired a contractor (not through The Good Contractor List) who basically left us with a mess of a patio extension. I felt going through The Good Contractor List would be a safer alternative to find someone to complete the job.We needed someone to redo some stone seating walls and stain and seal the patio. The seating walls were sub-contracted out to a stone mason and completed beautifully. But the finish work on the patio left a lot to be desired. Also the contractor never showed up as scheduled and didn’t call to say he wasn’t coming. Finally after over a week of him not showing up as scheduled, we complained to The Good Contractor List. They called the contractor who did finally show up and complete the job. But it was rushed and not well done. It seemed he was irritated that we had complained about him. We told him it didn’t look right but he said it was the best that could be done.We contacted The Good Contractor List and asked them to come out and look at the job since that’s what they advertise they will do if you aren’t happy with the work. John Hill came out and he agreed the job could have been done better. John called the contractor and scheduled for him to come back and redo the work. John came to my house and met with me and the contractor to make sure we were all on the same page on what was expected. He stayed several hours until the work was finished. I’m very happy with the completed project. I will definitely use The Good Contractor List again and I’ve already recommended them to someone else. I know if we had not had them as a resource the job would have been done sloppy and we would be stuck with that. Thanks again John!Becky Hearne

We had a great experience with Weather Claims re-roofing our house. They negotiated with the insurance company on our behalf (with our permission) and did a terrific job saving us money. They did a free inspection and gave us options to consider before contracting them, explaining each very carefully. The work was done on time and they cleaned up before they left. We are very happy with our new roof!

The company we went with was great from start to finish. And though we did not have any issues or need Good Contractors List to mediate anything, it was nice to know that we had them to mediate if needed.

I found Direct Source Plumbing and Drain Cleaning through the Good Contractors List. It was my first time using Good Contractors List, but it will not be the last. Direct Source exceeded my expectations. They were on time, effecient, and knowledgeable. The plumber, Wes, was also courteous and after fixing my problem, CLEANED my shower! I had to have them out on a Saturday, but there was no extra charge for it not being a week day. In fact, the charges were very reasonable. I cannot think of one negative thing to say about Direct Source Plumbing and Drain Cleaning

I was in the hospital 3 weeks ago - not 24 hours after a surgery when I received a call from my home (in Texas). I was told temps upstairs were in the 90s. After instructing my family to move downstairs I was feeling like there was little else I could do from my location. Having used your website before, I remembered the Good Contractors List. We had heard their ads on the radio and needed an electrician to repair a junction box in our attic that had shorted out. Since the house is fairly new, we didnt know of any electricians. We went to the site and put in our zip code and selected a company from the list. Tommy from A.M.E. Electric came out and was on time, friendly, did a great job and was reasonably priced! We were so impressed that we had him come back out later the same day and install a 220v circuit in our garage! It feels good to know that you found a reputable company you can recommend to others! Highly recommended! I have used their site several times. They always call to make sure how things worked out. From a contractors work to customer service. On my last use, I had a small problem, Good Contractors List asked what happened. They even sent me an email with a list of contractors to call. Problem fixed. The people at GCL are always friendly and actually make you feel like they care. Any time someone ask me if I know anyone can do this or that, I always tell then to use the GCL website.

I recently contracted M&M Stone, Inc from the Good Contractors List to replace kitchen counter tops with quartz. Mark Maness company is superb. The work was completed quickly, professionally and beautifully! Once work was completed, Mark is delaying collecting final payment until some inadvertent damage, done during the install, is corrected. A very morally straight man! Would highly recommend this company!

I had used referrals from friends in the past, but was frequently disappointed in the work - with no recourse. DFW Upgrade & Remodeling was a contractor on the list for my zipcode. From the first contact, to the finished job, the level of professionalism and the quality of work that was performed were exceptional. If all contractors on the Good Contractors List are as professional and do such high quality work as DFW Upgrade & Remodeling, then Ill always look here for my contractors.

We hired Load Bearing Wall Pros (LBWP), a company listed on the Good Contractors List, to perform a remodel in our home. LBWP did not pull the permits required by the city or inform us (residential homeowners, not contractors) that permits were required. When we learned at a later date that permits were required, LBWP refused to register with the city and pull the required permits. Fortunately, The Good Contractors List responded immediately to solve the problem. The Good Contractors List hired a structural engineer to come out and inspect the work and provide the documentation we needed for the city. They also reimbursed us for the cost of the city permit fees and were prepared to pay for any drywall repairs that might have been required if the city insisted any of the work be uncovered for inspection. The Good Contractors List answered my request for help on the same day I called them and stood by the guarantee 100% and without any difficulties or waffling. I was incredibly impressed with their response!

We did use the firm we found through Good Contractors, Fortress Foundation, and could not be happier with the process or the results. After two bad experiences dealing with large home improvement stores to obtain flooring and installation, my husband decided to check The Good Contractors List. He chose FWC Flooring, Inc., and we could not be more pleased with the vinyl flooring they installed. FWC Flooring knew we had company coming, so they went out of their way to get the needed measurements so as to get the flooring ordered (They even stopped by on their way to church!). Then, the installation was done quickly but beautifully and with an attention to detail. A family-owned business thatll treat you right, they deserve every one of the five stars I gave them.

I would highly recommend SF5 Roofing to anyone who needs a new roof for their home. They are honest, dependable, competitively priced and do high quality work. They supported me through the entire process of roof replacement after my home was damaged by hail. Through their guidance I was even able to take advantage of a sale on roofing materials which reduced my out of pocket expenditure for the job. If I ever have to replace another roof SF5 will be my first phone call.

I had an AC technician come out to my house and spend 2 minutes looking at my unit before he decided that my unit was in need of replacement. I called Climate Care for a second opinion and was very very pleased with the service from Tim. He actually took the time to see why my coils were freezing and how we could fix that issue. He even took the time to look up the serial numbers of my units to see how old they were. The previous technician never even took the time to try to fix the problem, he went directly to the $11,000 - $18,000 replacement. Tim correctly determined that my unit was low on freon and this was causing the freezing coils. After he topped off the freon, it is working like a champ. If or when my unit needs to be replaced, I will come back to Climate Care to take care of it. Thank you again for your help.

As happens often during any renovation project, issues arise that can become frustrating to anybody. So it was with our project; after several months we were having issues with getting our project completed. After a few e-mail exchanges and a few phone calls, John Hill, owner of The Good Contractors List came out to our home on a Friday morning, and then spent the entire day the following Saturday making sure our project was completed to our satisfaction. In hindsight; had we not had Good Contractors Lists guarantee, we would still be frustrated and living with an incomplete project. Kudos also to Jessica and Lauren in the office for helping pave the way to success.

I contacted the Good Contractors List to find an electrician to install a 240v circuit for swimming pool equipment. Ended up selecting AME Electric from their list. Tommy and Bo from AME arrived right on time. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and very professional. The job was completed quickly and efficiently, and the work site left spotlessly clean. Cost was very reasonable. Overall, I am extremely pleased with AMEs performance. I will definitely use them again for electrical work. GCL contacted me several times to ensure I was happy with the contractors work. I am very pleased with the overall experience. I will DEFINITELY use GCL again when I need a contractor!

I hired a general contractor through the Good Contractors List for a kitchen remodel. We took it down to the sheetrock, and did extensive rewiring. The General Contractor (Lone Star Remodeling) was knowledgeable and professional and costs came within the range of the budget he set. His subs, especially the floor tile guy and sheetrock guy were absolute artists. (I did my own painting and wood refinishing). The electric subs were expensive and $2500 above budget but there was an unforeseen problem and we had to bring a house with 20th century wiring into the 21st century. It was worth the extra cost to pass City of Plano inspection and to make sure there was no fire hazard. With the extra indemnity provided by the Good Contractors List, Id use the GCL again for any remodeling project.

100% happy! In the future, this will be my go-to resource for contractors.I had work done on my garage door by one of the Val-Pak vendors. He worked on it with the special price, and then announced, I got it so it will open half way, but it will take several more hours and about $500 to get it fixed all the way. I could not afford that, so Ive been using it as-is for several months.After listening to the ads, I researched garage door vendors on the GCL. I made a contact through the list, but never heard back. A rep from the list called and asked me about my experience, and I told them never heard back. That guy called me about two hours later and said hed be out to quote. He never arrived or called back. When GCL called several days later, I told them about my NEW experience with this guy, and they helped me find someone else on their list. That vendor FIXED my garage door in an HOUR, for less than $200 and it never worked as well as it does now!!I love the way the GCL keeps their vendors on a short leash and helps protect their customers and will definitely use them again.
