Bay State did an AMAZING job with our house. We originally hired them to redo 2 bathrooms - then, after a different company backed out of our HVAC installation right before the winter, Bay State came to the rescue and did a wonderful job with the remodeling required for that, too. We decided to expand the scope of our home remodel (to include a kitchen remodel, opening up the floorplan, etc.) because we were so impressed with the quality of their work, and we are very happy with the results. It was a pleasure working with Marcio, Andreina, David, Marcus, Mr. Fixit, Dayna, and everyone else involved in the project. We are so glad we went with Bay State - they are professional, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and committed to quality. Also, they know how to make things look really good!

We recently used Bay State Remodeling for our kitchen renovation and we could not be happier. Everything went incredibly smoothly. Andreina and Marcio were easy to work with and very communicative, I got an email most mornings to let me know what would be happening for the day, and then for the most part thats exactly what happened. Obviously they cant control every detail with every subcontractor, but any issues that arose were taken care of quickly and professionally. Anrdreina made our lives so easy and I couldnt recommend working with her enough! Our project was on time, ended just about exactly when we anticipated it would, and we are absolutely in love with our new kitchen! We will absolutely be using Bay State again for any upcoming renovations, no hesitation!I attached our old kitchen and then the new one so you can see just how big of an improvement it was! David, Marcio, Andreina, Dayna, and the rest of the Bay State team did a fantastic job getting our home in Newton ready on time for our family to move into. Sub-contractors Jonathan (electrical) and David (plumbing) were also great to work with.We were working with a tight deadline, and our friends and neighbors were amazed by how much they did so quickly and well. Our project included removing a defunct chimney from roof through garage, removing a load bearing wall and building requisite structural support, gutting the kitchen and dining areas, adding a bathroom, removing radiator heat and adding central air, upgrading electrical including adding an EV charger, and a ton of small improvements we added along the way.They also did a great job following up with any adjustments we needed post-move. We are so happy with Bay State and plan to use them again on future projects!Ive also included some pictures of the original kitchen and dining area to help get a sense for how much they changed.

Great job by the Bay State team on remodeling our bathroom! From Sabrina helping us with the initial design, Andreina and Carla running operations, and Marcio, Darly, Paulo, David and the crew doing a stellar job taking the old bathroom apart and putting it back together.My one regret has nothing to do with Bay State - its not ordering all of our fixtures first and having them in hand before actually starting the project. Had we done that we would have avoided some painful delays caused by supply chain/shipping issues. Lesson learned!

I would wholeheartedly recommend Bay State Construction. Everyone on their team was professional, responsive and reliable. In the beginning, as I was searching for help with my kitchen update, I was hesitant to hire a new construction company because I’d had problems in the past with other companies - unforeseen delays and intermittent communication. I also live in a historic pre-war apartment building in Cambridge that has strict rules about any construction. The Bay State team did everything according to the rules and were very professional about all the unusual requests made by the condo board. They did beautiful work for my kitchen renovation, even when, due to a clerical error (mine) with my condo board, I had to put off the renovation for a few months at the last minute. Though none of this was By State’s fault, They found another space of time for me on their schedule so that the project did not have to be delayed too much into the future. I am so grateful for that. In addition, I have high standards for workmanship and also made some spontaneous changes along the way regarding appliances and other things, but Adrienne, Sabrina, Marcio, Darly and everyone else on the team responded and accommodated me in a very reasonable and helpful way. They even put down a very nicely-done cardboard cover in the apartment hallway so that the carpet in the common areas would not be damaged. I always felt that I could pick up the phone or email them with questions and concerns and they would get back to me within a day and most often sooner than that. I would highly recommend Bay State for any renovation or building project, especially if you live in a historic home or apartment building. They were wonderful.

Bay State Refinishing, re glazed our bathtub in 2012 and except for a couple of small areas we could have gone a bit longer before having it re glazed again. However, we felt the tub needed refreshing, so today, 1-11-2023, they re glazed our tub again. The technician was efficient, courteous and careful to protect all surrounding areas in our home. At the present time the product is in the drying period and we will not be able to use it for 48 hours but we wanted to send an acknowledgment that we are completely satisfied with the work performed by Bay State.

Bay State Refinishing & Remodeling came recommend from a dear friend of mine and I could not be happier with the work they did. They renovate my master bathroom. The entire team (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc..) led by David (contractor) were amazing. Marcel is one of the nicest people I have ever met and can do almost anything that has to do with home renovations. They were always on-time, very professional and even helped me deal with a difficult neighbor. I have recommended them to friends who are planning home renovations in the near future. Overall, we were very pleased with our home remodel that was done with Bay State. We hired them for a complete master bathroom addition, as well as floor refinishing. While they werent the cheapest bid that we looked at, they were able to complete the final project ahead of time, meeting all inspections, and had very overall high quality, with a team of subcontractors that we liked and trusted. Additionally the team was extremely responsive, and David and Marcio in particular would drop by in person within the day when we thought that there were issues that needed to be addressed. We would recommend their services for people looking for home remodeling projects.

I contracted Bay State again after they done a great bathroom remodeling and proved they could be trusted, very important for me being away in another state during most of the work. The team of David, Sabrina, Andreina and Marco designed, planned, ordered, directed, and executed the kitchen remodeling to assure smooth forward progress. Bay State has at its calling the best carpenters, plumbers, electricians, cabinet installers, tilers, and floorers. Bay State also did renovations to the entire rest of the condo in the arts and Craft style. My specific requests were honored. I was most pleased with the high quality of craftsmanship. We had a great experience with Bay State during our recent bathroom renovation. Our initial meetings with their designer Sabrina helped us settle on our scope and design, and she also set up our appointments to pick fixtures and tiles. During the project itself we had great communication with the operations manager Andreina and the rest of the team. David checked in almost daily and we are very happy with the quality of work from Jose, Marcio, and the rest of the team.Overall Baystate and the team mentioned above ran a smooth operation. Quotes were thorough and easy to understand, and cost was very transparent. The team was very organized, from staging supplies to scheduling of subcontractors. We felt very informed at all times about what and when the next steps were at each stage of the project. Everyone who worked in our home was resectful of our space and we were thrilled at both the speed and quality of work. The entire team was very responsive when we brought up concerns which were addressed. We would definitely work with Baystate again for future projects.

This summer I had Bay State remodeling and refinishing redid my bathroom.The people at Bay State were very friendly and courteousBay State did the demolition of the bathroom, gutted it to the studs, they also converted the bathroom closet to a washer and dryer space, they did the tile on both floor and bathtub surround and installed vanity and two sets of closet doors, shelving and window.Through the process communication with the project manager Yuri was excellent. Yuri and the plumber were up to any challenge that came during the project in specific with the full size washer and dryer installation on the closet.Bay State kept my townhouse clean during the project and disposed all the building material upon completion.Bay State helped me with the material selection and ordering process, also when the material arrived they made sure that everything was complete and in good condition.My new bathroom now looks AMAZING; it’s such a joy now to walk in to itThe staff in the office and on site was professional and did excellent work.Special thanks goes to Yuri the project manager and Darly (tile professional), Shimon Aviksis (plumbing) and Dino (Electrician) for their work in making it look greatI would definitely consider using Bay State in any future projects in my house and recommend to all friends and family.

I worked with Bay State for a complete bathroom remodeling and my experience with them was outstanding. The bathroom was fully functional within the time frame they estimated, which is a feat during a pandemic. Sabrina made sure all the materials and finishes were in place before the work started. Because it is the only bathroom, David worked with me to get a functional toilet installed as soon as possible and even responded to my texts on the weekend when something came up. Marcio and Paulo did awesome work and listened to my concerns and requests. Special mention to Andreina who was in constant contact with me to let me know what would happen when and relayed all my concerns to the subcontractors. This team clearly has customer satisfaction in mind. They will definitely be on the top of my list when I decide to pull the trigger on the kitchen!

We expanded our kitchen and they made the process extremely easy and seamless -something very rare when describing home renovations! We highly recommend Bay State Remodeling & Refinishing. I’m a tough customer and was skeptical of hiring a company that I found on the Web. In the end, we’re very happy we did. Andreina, our main contact, was a dream to work with. She’s extremely responsive and thorough – she answers her own phone and never fails to provide information quickly and accurately. I absolutely loved working with her. Darly is a standout (so great), and all the workers were extremely friendly, prompt, clean, and courteous. We received a few estimates prior to selection, and Bay State’s estimate was right in line with others. I was also afraid that they would find issues along the way that would increase the price. In the end, however, the final construction cost was in line with the estimate. They stayed on target with the timeframe too. Do some research on the cost of vanities, sinks, and plumbing supplies beforehand to get a sense of how much you want to spend. We ended up picking some higher-end items so the total cost was more than I expected during my initial planning. That, however, had nothing to do with the demolition and construction costs. Bay State stuck to their estimate. As a bonus, Bay State brought in a wonderful woman named Danielle to clean our house when the project was finished. Her husband, Marcus, also works for Bay State and is delightful as well. Again, we highly recommend Bay State.

Bay State Remodeling and Refinishing completely transformed our third floor from an unfinished attic to an incredible playroom/guestroom. When we bought our house eight years ago, we always knew that the third floor would be a project that would improve our house and provide more living space, but the finished product is even bigger and nicer than I had imagined. Yuri, David, Marcio, Rogerio and the rest of the team were an absolute joy to work with! Yuri and David, our project managers, were in constant touch with us and always kept us informed about progress. They were always available by cell or text. And Marcio’s work on the tile and carpentry was beautiful… he is a true craftsman! Marcio and his assistant Rogerio made every detail of the bathrooms beautiful. They were reasonably priced, and had loads of practical suggestions to help us get the most from the project. They took two, old dingy bathrooms (master and guest) and made them absolute show-pieces! Our home is 100 years old, and the project required a complete gutting, re-configuring all plumbing, electric, windows, extensive tile work, and detailed finish carpentry to match existing features. Each bathroom was a complicated project, and they handled both at the same time better than we could have hoped for. Yuri, David and Marcio did a brilliant job! They kept our home clean while the project was going on, and were a pleasure to have in our home. We would definitely hire them again, and would recommend them to anyone!

We went with Bay State Refinishing & Remodeling for a large project. Kitchen and Master Bath remodel (down to the studs), along with guest bath and powder room update. They were able to complete the work within 4 months. We have family doing similar work still waiting for it to be finished after a year. The results look night and day different from how the place looked beforehand and they did what they could to work within our budget. Sabrina helped with design and helped choose some items, along with their placement. She did a great job arranging meetings with all of the vendors. David was great to work with and very accommodating and willing to help and work through any issues. Andreina was good to work with too.Based on peoples experience with other companies, we were warned not to make the last payment until all work, including small adjustments, were done. I never felt that was needed with Bay State. They have come out for any and all details that needed slight adjustments, e.g. drawers misaligned etc. The only cons or feedback I would give is a few more updates along the way would have been helpful and a few details were mixed up. The latter part is understandable though with such a large project and they were always there to fix any mistakes.I would recommend them going forward.

Ray and his team did a fantastic renovation of my kitchen and bathroom! We are thrilled with the results, and their entire team including Lina (helped with design), David (project manager who was always available for any concerns I had), Marcio (who did the majority of the carpentry and tiling) provided excellent quality work and were very attentive to all small details that go into such a big project. Even during the difficulty obtaining a permit due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ray worked with me constantly to push the city to grant the permit! I would highly recommend Bay State to anyone looking for home renovations!

With Ofir’s outstanding oversight, Andreina was always in contact and so helpful, and with Sabrina ready to discuss every choice, Marcio expertly directed and advised construction, and other members of the team including Paulo, Jose and Robson were fantastic. We had Bay State do a complete remodel of our kitchen and I mean a COMPLETE remodel. Our previous kitchen was barely functional; it had a weird layout that made using the stove difficult, had no heat source serving the kitchen, and had barely any storage space. From the first phone call and estimate through design, completion, and inspection, the team was really easy to work with. Dayna, Sabrina, Andreina, Marcio, David, and the whole team were all super responsive; they worked with us through several design changes until the layout was just how we wanted it and then made our visions into reality. Its no exaggeration to say the finished product was like getting a brand new house. We have had other contractors do work on the house before, and this crew was much easier to work with than others that have come through before. Definitely recommend!

Theyre easy to work with and provide a personal touch.Most recently I had my old beige bathroom tile refinished to be bright white and it came out fantastic. We recently had our kitchen renovated with Bay State. We had an excellent experience. They exceeded all our expectations with their professionalism, knowledge, workmanship and communication. We initially worked with Sabrina on the design process who was absolutely delightful to work with. During the remodeling, Andreina was our key contact that organized the jobs and answered all our questions. She was very responsive and handled everything with care and speed. David and Marcio oversaw what was going on at the job site and their knowledge is amazing. They made sure all our concerns were addressed on a timely manner. And there is nothing they cannot fix! Jose was amazing organizing the job site. He was always very kind, prompt and super helpful. Bay States crews are outstanding on their craftmanship. They also work with top notch subcontractors! Overall, they are fantastic at what they do and wed love to work with them on our future projects.

We worked with Bay State Remodeling to remodel 2.5 bathrooms and to complete an unfinished space within our home. Before the renovation start date, Bay State set up appointments with the tile company and bathroom fixture company to make selections for the bathrooms so that everything was ready to go when the renovation started. They started their work on time, stayed within the scope of the budget we laid out and anticipated, and finished on time. Andreina managed the project and was excellent with communication. Sabrina was helpful with design elements. Marcio and Ofir made sure that we had everything we wanted and that we were satisfied with each of the spaces. They even helped us refinish our floors which were not part of our original scope of work, but needed to be done. All of their subcontractors were respectful of our home and did very good quality work. Overall this was a very positive renovation experience and we are loving our new spaces.

This was our third project with Bay State (complete kitchen remodel). It would be hard to overstate how great they are to work with. So professional, knowledgable, organized, and caring with details. The project was 100% on time (2 months), and at the budget we expected. I appreciated how invested they were with the outcome being perfect, and not just the bare minimum to get the job done. Would 100% recommend them or work with them again.A few people in particular: Andreina was always on top of the schedule and details and great communication; Marcio, great eye and good advice on the finishing design touches; Jose, very efficient with the initial stages of demo etc and made sure everything else in our house was carefully moved and covered; Ray and David, great advice at the beginning; Dayna and Sabrina, very helpful with design/sourcing. I did two full bathroom remodels with Bay State. They were great to work with from the beginning - within a week of signing a contract, Andreina came over to measure the spaces, talk through design choices and set me up with appointments to choose fixtures and tile.The crews that came out to do the work were all very professional. The project manager, David, stayed in constant contact by text message, answered all my questions, and accommodated my last minute requests and made sure any issues were handled immediately. The crew (David, Marcio, Darly, and Paulo) did a fantastic job in all the details - everything looks really good, and were fantastic about masks and keeping folks safe from Covid throughout. The plumbing and electrical crews they brought in were great as well.Bathroom 1 completed fully on-time, and bathroom 2 was delayed only by an underlying structural problem uncovered. Bay State was fantastic about setting up a consultation with a structural engineer and offered a great price to do the work themselves to keep everything moving as quickly as possible.Im extremely pleased with how the project turned out - both bathrooms look fantastic, and I got every item on my original checklist of what I wanted out of a remodel. I appreciated their support and advice throughout the design and decision process, as well as a flawless implementation. They werent the cheapest, but the price was fair, and the work excellent.

I was very happy with Bay States transformation of my well-worn, stain-ridden old bathtub, to one that looks as good as new. Also, and importantly, I was very happy with the technician, Frank. Frank was professional and courteous, and went beyond the call of duty, returning the following day to put the fixtures back in the tub, caulk the tub/tile junction, and remove the protective paper and plastic. Not only is this additional work not necessarily included as part of the refinishing job, the technician nonetheless returned at the end of a very long day, at about 7:30 pm. I cant say how much I appreciate Franks dedication to providing top notch customer service!

I was checking online for a company to refinish the tub and tiles surround at my sons apartment in the Back Bay. I called Bay State Refinishing and spoke with David, he was very polite and informative, he even complied with my request to schedule the work to be on the following week before my son comes back from his vacation. I received the work order and some more useful information about the refinishing process via email the same day. The job took around 4 hours and the tub and tiles look great, beautiful change from the old pink color that he had in his apartment. The cost was reasonable and the whole process was quick and smooth.

We contracted with Bay State to completely remodel our main bathroom, and are very happy that we did. We have done a few remodeling projects, and this was definitely the smoothest and most satisfactory. Bay State provides a full service from design through demo, tile, electric, plumbing etc. Ray walked us through the process, and Sabrina made the process of selecting tiles, fixtures etc, easy, setting up appointments with suppliers and making sure that we had picked out everything we needed. David coordinated the whole project and kept us informed as it progressed. All of the work was top notch (electric work by Jonathan, plumbing by Shimon, and pretty much everything else by Marcio and Paulo) – everything is plumb, square and level, and it looks beautiful. The team knew when to check on decisions (including aesthetic decisions that we would have regretted), and when to get on with things. They were also very accommodating of last minute design changes (custom niches for the tub and shower).

They even brought in a painter and someone to sand our floors at the last minute at our request.We had major issues that were unexpected and needed to be addressed like decaying joists, plumbing that was falling apart, and knob and tube wiring that had to be replaced. They addressed all of these unexpected issues and built us a beautiful new bathroom.During the project, we decided to have the wiring in our entire condo redone for safety reasons, which they did quickly. This included the tearing down of two ceilings and then a third one when it was determined it might come down at some point on its own.They seemed to do it all, and we only had to find another place to stay for three nights due to the bedroom ceiling that was close to falling and the floor work.They went above and beyond what we expected and although we had to pay for the extra work we added, the bathroom came in on budget.I am glad we went with them!

It then took another five weeks to fully complete the details only because of delays in inspection and waiting for final small pieces to arrive for installation. We live in a 100 year old condo, and our remodeling project included the addition of a 2nd bathroom, refinishing floors, painting, custom shelving, installation of recessed lights, and electrical upgrade. What I was most impressed by Bay State is their level of professionalism, honesty, and customer service.Our project had some challenges that went beyond what you would expect from renovations of a similar scope, and we felt that the Bay State Team was there with us every step of the way. A big shout out to Allyson the design director, who handled the situation professionally, and worked very hard to set up the paperwork before the project began. We had David as our project manager. He was eager to problem solve, listened to all my crazy design ideas, and provided realistic expectations from the outset. While I met with him onsite most of the time, we also did facetime and calls whenever necessary. Then we had Marcio and Darly who did high quality work, offered excellent advice, and were happy to incorporate our design needs. We had Kami from the office who answered our emails and calls in a timely manner. There were many other guys I met from Bay State - all of them were polite, respectful, and professional.The subs that Bay State hires also worked seamlessly with its team. The standout was David the plumber from Mr Fix it. We first met him via facetime when he was dressed in scrubs in hospital awaiting the delivery of his baby (such dedication)! He was a great problem solver with a can do attitude. We were also very impressed by the floor guy who refinished our floors beautifully. Other great subs included the guys from Brody electricals and Iriano the carpenter who did amazing molding work.For anyone wishing to do a similar project in a condo, we would highly recommend finding temporary accommodation and putting furniture in storage. As other reviewers have mentioned, Bay State is great with being on schedule. Despite the unexpected challenges and the extra work we commissioned them to do, they still managed to finish the entire project relatively close to the initial end date. Most importantly, the end result looks fantastic! We will definitely use Bay State Remodeling again and have already recommended them to friends!

We had had a shower/tub combination that was leaking. As owner of a real estate brokerage and insurance agency, I meet many contractors and company owners. I already used Bay State in the past to do some work in one of my properties, they did a great job and this time in my house before calling them again I wanted to get other estimates in order to validate the scope of work and cost. Two of our clients gave us proposals that were not acceptable. One of my wifes clients, is a plumber and gave us another proposal but could not do the entire job because he was a plumber. Our shower had no access from the back and needed a remodel with the plumbing repair. I called a local plumber who also had to bring his contractor in and gave us a crazy estimate in pricing and timing for the repair.When I called Bay State, I emailed a picture of the problem and they gave me a written estimate within minutes. They came over two days later, with their own plumber and had the entire tub-surround re-tiled completely within 2 days. They were clean, neat and efficient. They even took away other trash that I had from previous work.I already referred one of my neighbors that was looking for someone to refinish his shower and replace his bathroom vanity and he told me that they did a great job as well

Working with Bay State Refinishing has been a total joy. My email questions had been answered promptly by Martha G. I appreciated that greatly and was one of the reasons I ended up picking Bay State Refinishing to work with instead of some of the other guys. When the time came for my tub to be resurfaced I had been told that the refinishers would be at my home between 1 & 3 pm. About noon time I got a call from Frank saying they were 20 minutes away and asked if that was ok. Absolutely it was ok!! When he and Jose arrived they were very professional, neat, organized. They told me exactly what they were going to do, when and why. They put drop cloths down; protective paper on the tub walls so nothing was touch outside of the spray zone. It just so happened that the weather was very bad the day my tub was being resurfaced but each and every time Frank or Jose had to go out to their van they made sure to wipe their feet before entering my home. They went out of their way to make sure they did not cause any kind of mess or damage. The precision with which they worked with was amazing. Frank had told me this would take about an hour an 20 minutes from start to finish. He wasn’t kidding; they were done and loading up their van by 1:55PM. I wouldn’t hesitate to tell people to use Bay State Refinishing if they were thinking of having their tub or shower resurfaced.

They were very accommodating to our needs and design changes. David, our project manager, was wonderful, a great communicator and very willing to “meet” with us on FaceTime as well as in person because we are split between coasts. Bay State assigned a crew to our project who worked with David on most aspects of the project and were knowledgeable in many areas of construction techniques. Mearcelu is a real craftsman when it comes to custom moldings and finish carpentry. The other team members were conscientious, very hard working and always responsive to any requests or concerns we expressed. The whole crew met the challenge of working on a 100-year-old building without a single plumb wall or right angle with great results. Ray, the owner, Roger, the office engineer, and David worked together seamlessly to maintain schedule and their contract documentation is superb. Working with Bay State Refinishing has been a fantastic experience from my initial call with Ray to get an old pink tub and grungy tile surround walls refinished in a rental property to today when the work was done. The technician that came out, Milano, was a true professional - he explained what he was going to do step-by-step, showed me how it was going at the end of each step and once the work was done, went over in detail the time before the tub could be used, how to maintain the tub going forward, etc. I cant recommend Milano enough for his work and Bay State Refinishing for how easy they made the process.

Bay State Remodeling has been a total pleasure to work with from start to (even after) completion. Like everyone else in New England, I had a lot of damage to my bathroom from both ice dams and also a pipe bursting from the unit above mine imploding my bathroom ceiling. I decided it was time to do a full remodel, down to the studs (keeping the tub only). I got 4 quotes from 4 different sources and they were the only ones that were reasonable and in line with what my expectations were. They started on time and although they initially quoted 3-4 weeks, I set my expectation to 6 weeks which it ended up being. The delay was out of their control as the town I live in requires so many inspections. They were so professional, nice, helpful, and very communicative. He explained everything he was going to do. He took specail care to cover our new carpets and hardwood floors leading to the bathrooms, he even covered our newly paved driveway were he had to walk back and forth to his truck ! The tubs both came out looking like new ! I am very pleased with the result !

We hired Bay State for a complete remodel, down to the studs, of our one bathroom 100 year old condo in Brookline. With 2 young children, remodeling your only bathroom is risky. Ray, David and Darly did a great job. We had to deal with some expected issues given the old plumbing, The Bay State guys, Brody Electrical and Aviksis Plumbing teamed up to do great work. David was available basically 24/7 via phone or text whenever we had questions. Darly was such a genuinely nice guy and was so conscientious every day after his work to clean up the condo as much as possible for our family. Darly was very thoughtful in keeping the work area clean and safe for our kids at the end of the day. The bathroom came out great, looking exactly like our designers plans. David helped us select some of the finishing touches as well. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Bay State.

This was just about the best contractor experience I have ever had. (And I have had many.) I found Baystate via an internet search. The renovation was enough of a distance from my primary home that none of my favored contractors would drive the distance. I am usually hesitant about using an unknown but the reviews were so good I decided to see what they could offer and I am very glad I did. From the first call with Ray, I immediately felt comfortable. The first meeting confirmed these were the contractors for this job. I originally scoped the project as a bathroom renovation but when meeting with them I felt confident in their abilities and expanded it to also include a complete kitchen renovation. The work was done almost exactly according to the schedule we originally discussed, even considering a number of additions along the way. David was the project manager. He had superb knowledge and many great ideas. Marcio and Rogerio were the carpenters. They had so many skills- I think there was nothing they couldn’t do. Their solutions and suggestions were perfect. The attention to detail was incredible. Ari, the plumber, and Jonathan, the electrician helped me in making the final choices and visualizing which options would be best. They made their jobs seem easy to me-and I know there were a number of issues to deal with in the design. Overall, the team was AMAZING. I felt so confident in their ideas and suggestions I often asked “What do you recommend” and went with that. There ended up being a number of unexpected complexities during the project. David and team dealt with each of these and kept me well informed. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. Thank you ALL!

Where do I start??!! This summer we bought a 100 year old colonial home in Newton that had incredible “bones” but that was in serious need of updating. We wanted to open up the kitchen and dining room. During the project we ultimately decided we wanted to open up an area that included a load bearing wall, and needed to move over an entire bathroom adjacent to this space, so we could have a bathroom and added laundry area. This was a very big project requiring an LDL to support the areas we were opening up AND the complete removal of a vestigial chimney hidden behind the old kitchen walls.Before we started the work, I had heard good things about Baystate from a friend so we called them up for an initial estimate. I thought they would be one of several we would interview. The crew from Baystate sold us right off the bat. And they did not disappoint.I can’t speak highly enough of Ray, David, Marcio and the rest of the Baystate crew.We even added central air conditioning to this “old house” all the while! And the whole time, the crew worked together flawlessly! Plus, the subcontractors who came in! They were really top notch. All of them were careful, skilled, detail oriented, on-time and professional! I was a complete newbie when it came to renovating anything; but the experience was surprisingly smooth and I can’t say enough about how gorgeous the renovation came out! I’m going to miss those guys now that the project is done. I would not hesitate to call these guys again in a heartbeat. In fact I’m begging them to do my next project: renovation of my tired, old finished basement. Baystate really does impressive work.

We did a complete kitchen renovation including structural work. When Bay States estimate came in at HALF that of the others we had received, we were skeptical but hopeful. What we got was anything but discount quality. These guys did incredible work. They were careful, FAST, friendly, and so respectful of our space and our family. When the project wrapped up we actually missed having them around. Nothing went over budget or over timeline (classic construction problems, arent they?) David and Yuri were frequently on-site, answering all of our questions and addressing items that came up in the field. Roger held down the fort in the office and took time to answer my thousands of questions about specifics of cost. And Marcio and Rogerio...the real MVPs who not only are multi-talented guys who built our kitchen from scratch (truly) but ALSO won the affection of our 15 month old son (ok, the fact that they always brought really awesome tools/trucks helped a bit). Clara and Andreina were always readily available when we had questions and were quick to respond. David was great to work with as well, and did a fantastic job coordinating the project. It was a very complicated project with a lot of interdependencies. The team I worked with - Ray, David, Adreina, Sabrina and were excellent. Marcio, who did a lot of the carpentry work, and the tile guy who tiled our bathroom in particular i found to be particularly good. They both did some great work and really contributed thoughtful solutions to the design process (we didnt have a designer or architect and didnt need one). From start to finish they were super organized, letting us know step by step what to expect and what we had to do on our end to keep the process moving.We picked out all our own fixtures/finishes, but they helped with that by scheduling showroom appointments and providing the sales people with spec sheets detailing what would fit/work in our space. When it came to the actual construction, they took care of every detail so we didnt have to think or worry about anything.The project took about 6 weeks start to finish (this was down to the studs remodel), and was 100% on schedule. The work itself was great, we especially appreciated Darlee who did the tile and installation. Marcio helped us plan the tile layout and gave some suggestions which I appreciated. They were all very professional and courteous (we did live in the space throughout the construction process). I would definitely work with them again and recommend them. You may pay a bit more than managing the process yourself, but well worth it in my opinion.

I contracted with Bay State Refinishing to reglaze our bathroom tub. We live in a 100 year old building, 3rd floor walk up and the tub was yellowed and stained. Frank came out to do the job. Within warranty, I have asked the company to return to fix a few small issues. Frank returned and did the job in a timely manner. Fast forward 15 months, still in warranty, and another small issue appeared (possibly user error but we dont know) and I called again. I want to complement Jose, who came out, inspected my concerns and agreed to send back Frank when he was in the area. Frank came back, always professional, did the minor work, and left the tub clean and like new again! Both guys made suggestions how I could better care for the tub. I would use again. Bay State did all of this and rebuilt our kitchen/dining room space into what is now the highlight of our house. Their engineer also pointed out a major issue with the (very old) support beam for the entire house, which we ended up having replaced. Throughout the project they were communicative, respectful, and thoroughly professional. More importantly, as someone who works remotely, they were incredibly respectful of my space and made sure that our toilet was put back after every day of work. Darly, their onsite guy, was especially helpful and did incredible tile work.Additionally, everyone they brought in to work on the project was professional and efficient, and were often in and out within a day. Jonathan, their electrician, did great work with a really old home and old electrical.We were anxious about a project that could span over 6 weeks for a small bathroom, but Bay State got it done in just over four weeks, with no delays and no surprises. I’d recommend them for your bathroom or home. We love the work they did at our home and are glad they’re who we went with when moving forward on the project.

About two months ago we bought a house in newton and it was in need of a complete renovation. Bat state Remodeling just finished the first phase of the project which was renovating the entire first floor (~2000 sqf) and about to start finishing our basement David and his crew did an excellent job on our house. They renovated 2 bathrooms added 1/2 a bathroom with a mud room, 3 bedrooms , Sun room and reconfigured our kitchen dinning room and living room creating an open space layout by removing structural walls and installing a structural beam, They did all new plumbing and electrical air conditioning, Tiling installation of the kitchen cabinets paint, pretty much everything you can think about from start to finish they arrived on time every time and the entire crew was very polite and understanding of my needs. I completely trusted them in my house and was very comfortable with them. I choose Bay state remodeling after interviewing many other contractors from Yelp and Angies list ( I was very picky) But their responsiveness to all my questions ( I had a lot) phone calls emails and text where answered in a very timely manner. Their invitation to meet them on the job site with a similar scope of work as ours made me choose them and we havent looked back. The quality of work is extraordinary, We could not be happier with the end result and with the entire process.

We were fortunate to have found a company like Bay State for our remodeling project. They have been head and shoulders above any other contractors weve worked with. All of the Bay State folks, and the subcontractors they work with, genuinely take pride in the work they do. David, the project manager has been amazingly patient and listened to all of our concerns. All of our concerns and questions were quickly and fairly addressed. I am consitently impressed with the attention to detail Marcio and his crew give to everything they do. They make sure that everything they touch is done right, is solid as a rock, and looks good in the end. They listen to what you want but make adjustments based on their deep experience, knowing what produces the best result. Shimon, the plumber and Jonathan the electrician are true masters of their trades. This is particularly important for us since our house is 103 years old. They were able to anticipate my needs and adjust based on the age of the house, making sure that things were done right and up to code. Overall, not only is Bay State accomodating but they stand by the work they do. David also took every opportunity to let us know where we could save money or if something seemed unnecessary - and even when our requests defied logic they were more than happy to take care of us. I wouldnt hesitate to work with Bay State again in the future.
