This was the second time I’ve had dealings with Smedley plumbing both times have been excellent work! This time Jon and Chris quickly found the problem to be an old cast iron drain they explained the choices I had gave sent me a quote describing the work that needed to be completed and Chris, Noah and Jon went right to work the next day not only by passing the old cast iron drain but replacing some other work done by another plumbing firm which Chris found to be not up to his standard. I am very happy with the knowledge and quality of work done by these men - I would highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

Chris and Noah installed a new toilet and two faucets today. They also repaired and replaced a shower handle and discovered some damage of which I was unaware. They called before they arrived today to tell me their ETA. At all times they behaved respectfully and professionally. They explained what they were doing and why. They informed Anthony about the newly discovered damage when they returned to the office. Anthony came back over to examine the damage and made some suggestions and an estimate. Needed shower cartridge replaced and main shut off inspected as it had developed a leak. My old plumber retired, so I asked around and was recommended Smedley Plumbing. Called them on a Thursday afternoon, they said they could have someone out Friday morning. Jon showed up on time, took a look at what I needed, gave me an upfront itemized estimate for replacement of the cartridge and replacement of the pressure valve and service valve on the main line. The estimate was VERY reasonable. He got the work done in a timely manner, very professional and clearly knew what he was doing. I would highly recommend this company.

He left me with Endure drain cleaner so I can stay on top of further problems and answered some questions about ADA toilets for a future purchase. This was my second experience with the company, having had them also install a new sump pump/back up battery and hot water heater. I recommend them for your plumbing needs.

Things seemed touch and go, and there was talk of opening up walls, but he found a way around that, and I am so grateful! Mitch did a fantastic job and walked me through each of the repairs needed. He also came prepared with all the tools needed to get the job done and even for some unexpected plumbing surprises. We needed new stop valves & spool in our shower, replacement of some drain line, a new anode and relief valve for the hot water tank, and then were surprised by a 10-ft clog of bacon grease. He took care of all of these easily. I highly recommend his work and his prices. We were also about a 40-minute drive for him, which was no problem at all. A+

When we checked the bill, it was $496! Total bill $555.This is just ridiculous for the time it took. I would NOT recommend this company! There was no estimate in writing, which would eliminate any questions about price. Im very upset about this company. I feel like we were taken advantage of because we had an urgent need.UPDATE: We were contacted by Mr. Smedley & he was very concerned about our experience with our service. He wanted to help us remedy the misunderstanding. After asking what I felt like the correct amount for their service would be, I stated the amount we agreed to .The $59. for them to come out & the $196. my husband heard. What else can I say other than Smedley is amazing! From the time I made the call and spoke with Danielle, who was very nice, to the time the job was finished. Anthony came out to diagnose the problem and he is experienced, responsive, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. He thoroughly inspected and diagnosed the issue and explained it every step of the way. Turns out a sewer repair was needed. He gave us a couple of different options on how to go about the repair and took the time to write up a very fair quote for both. When the decision was made on what option would work best for us the work was scheduled for the very next day. The day of the repair it was Anthony and Mitch that came out to tag team the work and Mitch was also extremely experienced, responsive, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. They both explained what they were doing every step of the way and got us all fixed up. I dont like to necessarily bash other companies so I wont mention the name but I did call a different, probably arguably one of the more well known companies around, first before calling Smedley, but I got a bad vibe about the experience of the tech they sent out and it didnt seem that they were very thorough, so I actually called Smedley for a second opinion and I knew pretty fast that they were more right for the job compared to the other company. Im so glad I made the decision to call them. Before you call anyone else call Smedley, they will be the only call you need to make.

We contacted Smedley Plumbing right about mid day and a short time later we had a response and a confirmed appointment for the next day with a two hour window for service. We were called shortly before the scheduled service to let us know they were on their way and on time.Mitch arrived, in clean attire, with booties on his shoes, and took the time to walk through each problem one by one to understand them. After that he gave a very clear and up front estimate of all associated costs that would be involved. After agreeing to those he got to work and systematically took care of our needs (a couple slow drains due to hair clogs, a clogged toilet due to my lovely children, and a ruptured pipe attached to an exterior spigot from ice damage). His work was timely, he offered suggestions on how to combat a couple of those issues in the future, and everything was kept clean and organized while he was working. After he was finished we looked at the repairs which were all completed to satisfaction. I took care of payment and an emailed receipt was immediately sent. I would definitely recommend Smedley and will be using them again on my upcoming basement finishing project for the plumbing needs in the bathroom.While having to make service calls is never an enjoyable experience for any homeowner, Mitch made the process a pleasant one. He was on time, professional, knowledgeable, and up front. That’s really all I can ask for in someone that is doing repairs on my home. I think they would be a good choice for anyone else that has plumbing needs.

UPDATE: Mitch (owner) contacted me by phone to hear my concerns and reinforce this was not to their company standard. After hearing the work that was done and considering the poor experience, he offered a partial refund. Although I did not ask for this, it was very fair and I will give Smedley a chance in the future.I contacted Smedley Plumbing because of the reviews and unfortunately did not receive 5 star quality service. We had several minor repairs-two faucets that needed to be tightened, three stoppers that needed adjustment and an outdoor faucet that leaks when in use. I had a good experience making the appointment and our plumber, Spencer, called on his way during the window-all good at that point. But once Spencer arrived it was not good. He spent a great deal of time assessing the work. The protocol as described to me was a $59 charge plus repair costs and that we would have a quote before the work. Instead, Spencer wanted to leave and return another time to do the work. When we requested he do at least the kitchen faucet and bathroom faucets/stoppers that day he begrudgingly did so, but did not provide an advance estimate. For tightening two faucets and adjusting two stoppers he charged $269. He then gave us the estimate for the leaky outside faucet-over $500, which he said we could schedule. We said no thanks. Crummy attitude, did not follow protocol for pricing, and overcharged. When the company reached out to solicit feedback I gave them these details (and more) and I never heard a word back. I can say the work that was done was good quality, but I won’t call Smedley again. I hope everyone else has a 5 star experience because we did not.

We had an old leaky shower faucet and Spencer did a great job! He was honest up front about the possible cost and need to replace in the event he was unable to repair. He was able to complete the repair without having to do a complete replacement, which saved us money. That is always appreciated! Would definitely recommend!

Spencer showed up at our house a little earlier than scheduled after calling to ask if it was okay if he came early. He was polite, diagnosed the problem, explained our options, answered our questions, and installed a new faucet quickly and at what we believe was a fair price. He also recommended a company to repair some flooding damage, and they showed up and began working while Spencer was still here. If we have any further plumbing issues, we will not hesitate to use Smedley Plumbing again.

We received Smedley Plumbing from a couple trusted recommendations. Spencer and Mitch are top notch! They are extremely friendly, thorough, efficient and definitely put their customers best interest first. We had them remove our tanked water heater and install a tankless water heater, move and add gas and water lines.Their expertise definitely made the work we had done easy and it turned out perfect.
