    I recently bought a home that backs doors with a soccer field. The wind was constantly blowing everything off my patio. I now have lovely cedar “wind wall”. The DJ’s Painting and Remodeling team was wonderful to work with! They kept me updated on the project from beginning to completion.

    We have used DJ’s for a number of projects on our house and they have always been done ahead of promise date and on budget (no surprises).We recently had an urgent request and Lindsey was able to fit us in and get our work done at an incredible speed.     We are so glad that we chose to trust our renovations with DJ’s. They did our kitchen & sunroom. The renovations were time sensitive and the team made every possible effort to get it done on my timeline. Even when they hit an unexpected glitch, instead of increasing the number of days needed, they put in extra effort & made sure they complete on the day as scheduled!Excellent coordination within the team & with us.     DJs Painting has done two jobs for me and both times they were a pleasure to work with and the work was excellent. On the first job, they discovered some of the trim boards were rotting, brought it to my attention and replaced them at a very reasonable rate. Second job was quick and efficient. Will definitely call DJs again because I know they’ll do the job right.

    DJs redid my upstairs bath and completed some additional paint and drywall work for me about six months ago. I am still incredibly satisfied with the outcome. I had a cast iron tub and tile shower that were in good shape and didnt require attention. They encouraged me to keep what didnt need to be touched and developed a plan that created a cohesive look for the bathroom. This saved me a lot of hassle and cash.I was impressed by their professionalism and organization. When the time comes for additional work on my home, theyll be my first call.

    Can’t say enough good things about DJ’s. Started with David, the owner, coming by to take photos and inviting us to their office to go over the estimate. Then working with Kate to pick out the paint, tile, and countertops. They made it simple and easy and gave great suggestions where we needed some help making a decision.Project got started way before some other contractors we had talked to and once the project started everyone has been super responsive. For example, I sent an email after the project started around 10 pm and got a response within the hour and it was not an emergency and someone from their office stopped by first thing the next morning to make sure everything was going smooth and answer any questions we had. I also liked the fact they called at the end of each day to check in after the project started.Their crews and sub contractors were always very professional and on time and did great work!The project was finished right on time and they made sure to clean up at the end of each day so we could use some parts of the kitchen during the remodel.When they were finishing up the kitchen we realized we had miscounted the number of knobs we needed for the cabinet doors and I told them about it when they stopped by to take some photos of the finished kitchen. Lindsey called the office and we they ordered the knob and had it installed as soon as the knob came in the next week.I usually do all of the housework and remodeling myself but if I need anything done in the future that I do not have the time to complete on my own I will be calling DJs.

    David and the team recently completed a full tear out and remodel of my second story deck. The entire office was friendly, knowledgeable, and communicated with me each step of the way. They checked in multiple times to address any possible questions. The deck was done efficiently and professionally. I am so happy to have a functional deck once again!     DJs did a cement patio for us and did a great job! They did what we wanted but also had some great ideas on the size, shape, existing landscaping, and even the coloring of the cement. They even loaned us a ramp for our back door so our dogs could continue to use our backyard until all the work was finished. Great communication and service!

    We had DJ’s painting and remodeling do a whole bunch of projects including drywall repair, painting every room in the house, new countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, new light fixtures, exterior door painting, painting our machine shed and maybe something I forgot. We wanted one point of contact for various projects and DJ’s fit the bill perfectly. Dave and all of the people who work in the office were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful with picking out new colors, countertops, light fixtures etc. There were a few glitches along the way, but all were handled quickly and to our satisfaction. The guys who came to do the work were all polite, courteous, and friendly. We are pleased with the final results and would hire them again with no reservations

    Quality work, attention to detail, great customer service!When I decided I wanted to pursue a major kitchen renovation I began by searching out well reviewed contractor options online. I narrowed it down to three, and began meeting contractors and getting bids. Meeting with Dave from DJs Painting and Remodeling, I immediately felt he listened to my needs, understood what I was aiming for, and could be trusted to do the job well. Now that my job is complete, I can assure you that my expectations were all met.When shopping for all of the finishes, Dave was a wealth of information about how durable products were, and what would work well together given my goals for the project.The workers were polite, cleaned up after themselves after the day, and answered my many questions. Someone from the office called every day work was done to see if everything went well and if I had any questions. I often asked what the plan was the next few days and was given the next few steps at that time. Dave stopped by often to check on everything and every concern was followed up on.I will say there were some hiccups along the way, as you would expect in any large project, but my concerns were always noted and they were addressed to my satisfaction.One of the reason I was drawn to looking at this company were the repeating reviews that they were on time and on budget. I, unfortunately, was niether on time or on budget, but I do not believe that DJS holds the primary responsibility for either of these things. The delay was due to plumbing issues we could not have known before hand, and my adding on to the amount of flooring we decided to replace. The budget overage was also due to those issues as well as my having more expensive tastes than I realized. If I had anything to say at all it would be that maybe the contracted budget was a little on the low side. However, I was always made aware of what my choices would cost over our contracted amount before signing off on them.Jake, an employee of DJS, was one of the main people to work at my house. He was polite, cleaned up, and knowledgably answered my questions. Yair also came often to work on drywall and paint. He also was very friendly, and kept me aware of what he was doing.In summary, Im very pleased I worked with DJS on this kitchen remodel and would hire them again for both large and small projects. My kitchen ended up beautiful and everything I hoped it would be. You will not be disappointed with the process or the results of choosing this company.

    D Js is a very professional company with a very competent staff of decorators, carpenters and painters. We wanted set in the wall medicine cabinets with mirrors in our bathroom. They worked with us respecting our budget and time needs. The result is just what we wanted. We also found out that they do a wide variety of work including tree removal. Amazing! My wife and I are glad that we chose them!

In addition we had our cedar siding, window trim, garage door, shutters and gutters re-stained / painted. We absolutely love the final product. All work was done by DJs Painting and Remodeling of Bloomington, IL. Dave was invaluable in his guidance with our desired outcome. He takes care of his customers like they were his family. Ryan and Mike made quick work of the pergola/porch removal. Brandon, Jeremy and Brad were very detail oriented in both the preparation and painting/staining. Rick, Cody and Dan did a great job with the walk and porch. The finish was fantastic. Im sorry that I didnt get the name of the carpenter who did some work to facilitate the construction of the new porch. He did a nice job. Kate, Cheryl, Taylor, Amy and office staff were very pleasant to deal with. They checked with us daily to see if we were pleased with the work as it proceeded.We researched reviews of DJs Painting before we called them. The reviews were great. Dave was very professional and detailed in his description of what was needed for the best outcome of the job we were wanting done. The crews were efficient, organized and paid attention to good house keeping while working.     Last fall, DJs Painting and Remodeling rehabilitated my deck. The previous Behrs deck paint had peeled and cracked, causing some boards to decay. DJs replaced the boards and sealed the deck with a top-notch paint that did a beautiful job of lasting through the winter. The service was terrific, and the company informed me at every step of the process.

    I hired DJ’s for ceiling drywall repair and ceiling painting. Their work was good, but what really blew me away was their level of cleanliness and attention to detail.     Djs Painting was fantastic. The customer service from the time I called to set up an appointment, to Dave arriving and giving ideas on how we can fix some wallpaper issues to how they would paint the textured walls in the bathroom. To Kate who came out a couple of times with paid colors and ideas how to improve the hallway issues. Brad did the painting was on time, completed the job in one day. The carpenter arrived at another time and he cut and put molding in our hallway upstairs. We also cant forget the person who arrived at 8am on the first day with everything everyone would need to complete the job. Their customer service,. attitude and thoughtfulness goes a long way Great Job DJS.

    THE best customer service! We have used D.J.s for multiple projects over many years and two different homes, and wouldnt go any where else.. They are reliable, prompt, genuinely pleasant. Even kind, when its some sort of emergency and by definition its not been your best day. It is a pleasure to work with a local business that cares about their customers and only has my best interests at heart. The owner constantly visits the house. Always honest and upfront from the beginning contact to the end of the project. The crews are professional, polite, and do excellent work. Someone from the office calls every evening to make sure were still satisfied. The owners response was immediate when I called for help during the recent flooding. No doubt there are other good contractors out there, but its rare to still find a genuinely loyal business. When I find one, I stick with them. By the way, Im sorry some of you had a difficult time booking them. As you can tell by all those stars and reviews like mine, they are usually slammed. Please think about that the next time you need help. You will not be disappointed.

    We decided to use DJs painting because of the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. We were having the project redone after bringing in a cheaper contractor with poor quality who just stopped showing up. DJs painting staff took great care to ensure we would love the color and when it came time to start the work they showed up on time and got our project done in a fraction of the time as the last guy. They were respectful and took great care with our home and even fixed a few issues caused by the previous painter that werent their responsibility.     Highly recommend! A friend referred DJs to us years ago and we have used them for all our home updates since. Professional, reliable and customer focused. Everyone is pleasant to work with and the crews always clean up at the end of each day. The owner routinely checks in on the work, promptly responds to our questions and concerns – sometimes over holiday weekends! When the work is done, we know it will be to our satisfaction. I am a rather picky person yet their attention to detail always meets or exceeds my expectations.     My wife and I were looking to have our tub and tile replaced in our bathroom and were looking for a reputable business to do the job. My mother-in-law recommended DJs Painting & Remodeling. DJs had remodeled her fireplace and she was quite happy with it and her overall experience working with them. Since we were quite impressed with the way her fireplace looked, we decided to give DJs a call. Dave was great and he worked with us through the whole process. He made sure that were were happy with the tub and tile we picked out. Once the project started, he checked in with us frequently to make sure everything was going smoothly and we were happy with the progress of the project. The guys he has working for him are top notch, hard workers and were great to deal with. Jake, who did most of the work on our bathroom was awesome. He was such a hard worker and so courteous, polite, and professional. Of course that could be said of all the guys who worked on our bathroom. And, his office staff are great to deal with! After the project was done, Dave came by one more time to check to see if everything met our approval, which it did. My wife and I like the fact that Dave genuinely cares about your project no matter how big or small it is and his employees will see to it that you are happy with the finished product.     We recently had DJs repaint most of the interior of our house. We built about 6 years ago, and the builder used a flat paint that showed nearly every nick and smudge from touching it even in the slightest.     It was a pleasure getting to know Dave and his team recently. Painted our homes exterior and stained some complicated decks (Brazilian Ipe). The paint job came out nice and neat. Our property was treated with respect during the job (something a cross-town competitor failed to do a few years ago!).     OK. I read a lot of reviews about DJs before calling. Despite the TON of positive reviews I had reservations. Not because of anything to do with DJs, but because it was hard to believe these guys were this good. Well, they were better than advertised. Attention to detail, professionalism, friendliness, completely transparent regarding the entire process. I will not contract with anyone else in the future. We still sit and look at the walls (OK not like all day and night!!) and appreciate the workmanship.

While they may be priced a little higher than their competition, the quality of their workmanship, attention to detail, cleanliness, and CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOLLOW-UP were exactly what we needed and wanted.     We had a plumbing leak that damaged our kitchen ceiling. DJs had their people out the same day to stop the leak and the next day to tear out the damaged drywall and insulation.     Weve been struggling for over a year with a persistent leak in our basement window/frame. Prior to contacting DJs, we had already spent about $8000 with an independent contractor without any resolution of the issue.There were many different potential contributors to our issue (too many to list in this review).     Dave and his folks just installed a patio in my back yard. They stayed on budget and finished well within the tight timelines we had agreed to. His folks paid attention to every detail. He made sure I had a detailed account of all of the work and that every detail was worked out.     ADDITIONAL REVIEW - September 2020We used DJs again for an issue we were having with interior water damage coming in from outside. This had been an ongoing issue for years that led to multiple repairs but nothing fixing it. I called Dave because I knew he was a problem solver and would want to get to the root of the issue.Dave was great at looking at the problem, asking a lot of questions to understand, providing thoughts and suggestions. He provided an early verbal estimate that was way under but the repairs were really involved (removing a chimney, taking off all siding, removing insulation and cleaning out mold, new fireplace insert for gas, new chimney, new siding, etc.)I was very pleased with DJs quality and attention. It took time to get the work done but they were very focused on dodging rain since they would be removing so much of the outside of my house (one side). But when they did start, he was attentive to the work being done.For challenging issues and complex problems, Dave is good. Hes a problem solver. They arent cheap, but you will get quality - and I needed the water damage to stop!FIRST REVIEW - 2017I started my experience with DJs with just a quote on painting. That turned into three jobs due to the variety of services they offer. Two were painting (one was baseboard and stair rail) and the other was a sidewalk replacement. Dave was very informed on house issues and discussed options for correcting them - even when the items being discussed werent one of the projects. We interacted with several in the business - painters, designers, and support staff as well as Dave. All were extremely professional, very helpful, and seemed genuinely concerned about my projects.The concrete guy for the sidewalk replacement was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He answered questions and provided good info to help me understand.The painters were very nice and engaged in conversation with us, greeting us and keeping us informed of progress and answering questions as needed.When paint color questions came up, they were on-the-spot there to take care of them - fixing what needed to be fixed and talking through options. Dave would stop by the work site frequently to ensure things were on track and progressing.Overall, a great experience. While not the cheapest, the quality and attention to detail were greatly appreciated.
