They understood how urgent it was to have the installation done as soon as possible and came out to install a new panel and run conduit up and around the tightest of spots for efficiency and for proper aesthetic. Installed the Grizzl-e charger with perfection, a game changer. I work out of home and their work around the house did not affect me at all. On top of it all...they completed all the work in less time then I anticipated and on the coldest, first day of snow. Definitely recommend this company and will be working with them in the future.

When considering the purchase of an electric vehicle (EV), I recognized the importance of including the cost of installing a home charger in my overall budget. ComEd offers a rebate for eligible buyers, but the installation must be performed by an Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) certified electrician. While searching for qualified professionals on Yelp, I noticed none of the companies I contacted had the necessary ICC certification. Fortunately, ComEd’s website provided a list of approved electricians.One company had a long wait time to send someone out for a quote, and another wanted to charge $300, which would only be applied to the project if I hired them. This approach was frustrating, as the quote was crucial to my EV purchase decision. Fortunately, I reached out to Brilliant Home Services, and they provided a free quote and quickly dispatched an electrician, which was excellent since I needed to make a decision that week.Edison, the electrician, arrived on time, assessed the situation, and provided a competitive quote that my GM Energy agent deemed quite reasonable. After deciding to proceed, I texted Edison, who scheduled my installation within a few days. He arrived on time and expertly navigated some unexpected challenges without raising the initial quote. He installed a new 240v line and completed the work swiftly. Edison proved to be professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with.Those applying for the ComEd rebate must know that the electrician must provide specific documentation. Brilliant Home Services ensured I received all necessary paperwork promptly, allowing for the timely delivery of my car by Christmas.Brilliant Home Services genuinely deserves a solid 5-star rating!

It was a wonderful experience getting the Tesla in-home charger installation from Tom Heskin and his crew! Tom promptly contacted me after initial request for an online quote. Tom showed up at our house/garage and suggested the right place for the charger, we agreed on a date for installation. Toms crew showed up at the house on time and began working. The crew was very courteous and professional. The installation work was done and took 3-4 hours. Tom even saved our time by applying for the village permit and obtaining it. The next day the village inspector finished his inspection and approved it. For us it was such a smooth process and worry free, the workmanship is excellent. We are a very happy customers and I wish all other service providers were like Tom (BHS) :). We highly recommend him for any electrical and EV charger installation. Brilliant absolutely deserves FIVE STARS!!

In order to prevent damage from ice damming, I hired them to install a sophisticated de-icing cable system on my roof and also an additional circuit to handle the extra current. Time was of the essence due to the changing weather conditions and the necessity of the installation. Tom was very willing to schedule my job asap, and to meet with the representative of the company providing the materials. In the rain and the cold, Tom and his electricians were able to finish the job in one day. I highly recommend Brilliant Home Services. Originally used Brilliant Home Services 12-13 years ago for an upgrade for electrical panel in previous residence. They did awesome job so called and asked to upgrade panel in current home and do an outlet installation in the bathroom.Tom upgraded and repaired my electrical panel, matched breakers to wiring to make sure they were appropriate. Then put in a new outlet in my bathroom and did it with a minimum of disruption to the drywall. Made patching really easy and it looks great.Very happy with everything and would use Brilliant for any electrical work in the future.

We just moved into a new home that had a bunch of various electrical issues that needed figuring out: multiple banks of lights that would never turn on, a sub pump breaker that kept tripping, and lots of mystery switches that seemed to go to nowhere etc. Tom got it all fixed and then some. When he was here looking at the lights he even helped a contractor that was building us a new closet by running wiring for a ceiling light - all in the same appointment. And when I shorted something out trying to install something myself, he came right over to fix the issue. Tom is an absolute pleasure to work with and so very knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it so I would understand how to trouble shoot issues in the future. I wholeheartedly recommend Tom and Brilliant home services.

I called Tom at Brilliant Home Services on Monday morning knowing I was picking up my new Tesla that evening. He came over that afternoon (in between jobs) to give me an estimate. I had been explaining my busy schedule and he knew I had taken Tuesday off from work. He made arrangements to have a team at my home on Tuesday morning and they were able to get my wall charger installed in no time flat. Cost was a little higher than anticipated because I needed an additional breaker box installed (certainly not Tom’s fault!), but Tom was upfront about all costs; there were no surprises. The team even cleaned up completely when they were finished. By Tuesday afternoon, I had a working Tesla wall charger for my brand new car. I couldn’t have been happier with Tom or his team! While you might be tempted to pick a random name out of the phone book, don’t do it. You might accidentally hit an unreliable electrical contractor; and, don’t kid yourself, just because someone holds a license or certification (and such qualifications are vitally important) in themselves, they alone don’t confer competence.My family and I have been working with Brilliant Electric, Heating and Cooling for nearly 10 years. The owner is Tom; and his knowledge, experience, attention to detail, and strategic thinking have made him an extraordinary resource for electrical work. His ability to absorb and analyze information to deduce the best electrical decisions and problem-solving have aided our family enormously, as well as made our home safe and properly updated through much needed work.I bought an older home and needed to upgrade the electrical panel to 220-amp electrical service in 2011. I selected Brilliant Electric Heating and Cooling to do the upgrade; and, have subsequently had them back for a few additional small projects, i.e., adding outlets in spaces where more outlets were needed; and, installing additional lighting.Recently, we had a problem with the electrical service in the basement that we just didn’t understand. It was in the part of the house that we hadn’t updated, so because we rarely went down to the basement, we didn’t know when the breaker flipped or what was causing the breaker to flip when it did. Honestly, we didn’t know until the next time one of us went to the basement.That the breaker kept flipping confirmed that there was a problem, but between 3 adults, we couldn’t identify what we were doing that was causing the issue. We would notice later when we went downstairs that power wasn’t working in an area, but no one had been downstairs and we weren’t able to communicate the cause/effect; just that one breaker kept flipping for power in the basement, although no one had been in the basement.We called Brilliant Electric, Heating and Cooling for the problem and they arrived on time and were very helpful and friendly. They found, defined and diagnosed a very difficult problem to identify; provided a very detailed, written quote, and followed up to confirm the problem was fully resolved.I feel confident recommending Brilliant Electric, Heating and Cooling and give them my highest recommendation. They are very competent in resolving complex problems, thorough, and easy to work with. I also appreciate that they are always willing to take the time to discuss concerns and respond to questions.

Hello Tom and the folks at Brilliant,Our 25 year old furnace went out last Friday and we elected to use Brilliant Cooling and Heating to replace the furnace. Saul was the technician assigned to the project. He was fabulous. Personable, efficient and the hardest worker I’ve ever seen. He had help carrying the new furnace down the stairs but from then on, he was on his own for the entire day into the evening. I finally made him a P&J sandwich at 5:00PM since he hadn’t gone to lunch. He was quite responsive to our needs, cleaned everything up before he left and provided his cell number if we needed anything else.Not only would we recommend Brilliant to any of our friends and neighbors, I would recommend that you reward Saul for his dedication to his work, his customers and his company.

I received a quote quickly from Brilliant after submitting basic information, along with photos of existing conditions, and having a site visit by one of Brilliants technicians. It was easy to schedule the installation and Brilliant handled the permit for me. The owner and one assistant came to perform the work, and they were very professional, friendly and efficient. The owner discussed the location of the outlet with me so that it was placed in a convenient spot with my approval. They installed the conduit, outlet and disconnect neatly with quality workmanship when others might not have considered that important due to it being in a garage. We tested the outlet and they cleaned the area so that youd never know that work was done there, except for the outlet and disconnect were ready to go. During the whole process from first contact to inspection, I found Brilliant Home Services to be really responsive and happy to explain the wiring, equipment and how it works. I would highly recommend Brilliant Home Services, and hope to work with them in the future.
