This project consisted of renovating a kitchen from a closed floor plan to an open floor plan which included addressing load-bearing walls. JOMA did a great job on the project from beginning to end. Jason McCall, project supervisor, and his construction teams were very knowledgeable, well equipped, and professional. Important to us was the teams were on site every day and working with an obvious interest in a quality job. When an issue arose (and they will with any reno project), the team worked quickly to resolve the issue to the owners satisfaction. Also important was understanding that the owners were living in the space throughout the entire project and thus programming the work accordingly. Last and certainly not least, the project stayed on schedule and within budget. We would highly recommend giving JOMA an opportunity to discuss your next home improvement project with them. We have had a fantastic experience with JOMA for the renovation of our kitchen, laundry room, and pantry. We worked with them for months figuring out what we wanted to do with our space and they never once rushed our decision-making or the initial process of establishing a plan. Our on-site contractor, Jason, has been amazing throughout the entire renovation process. From start to finish, he has been professional, communicative, and dedicated to quality work. He kept the project on track and ensured every detail was perfect. Our dream kitchen is now a reality thanks to Jason and JOMA! JOMA’s team has truly exceeded our expectations, and I highly recommend them for any renovation needs!

JOMA construction removed our old deck and built a new one. They did a fantastic job. I can’t say enough about the quality of their work. They were great to work with, from the project managers to the skilled carpenters. They were very efficient and kept the project site very clean. Jose in particular was more than excellent. His workmanship was highly skilled. He said good morning everyday with a big smile. We are glad he was working on our project. I highly recommend JOMA construction for any deck work.

I was extremely pleased with JOMA Construction from beginning to end of my project. We did a complete remodel of the master bathroom, including widening the door and replacing it with a pocket door, removing a garden tub and replacing it with a curb-less shower with grab bars, glass doors, tiled walls and tiled floors. A small step-in shower was replaced with a custom linen closet. The project also included new vanity, counter top, sink, light fixtures, and a number of other features. JOMA workers showed up as scheduled, with all of the trades coordinated by the Project Manager, who made sure steps went as planned and that the workmanship was high quality. The job was completed on time and within budget. They have a great system for tracking progress and communicating with the customer. I highly recommend them.

JOMA just finished our renovation. We started with the kitchen and ended up doing the whole house. The quality of work is excellent. The process is great. They take the time to understand what you want and meticulously pound out every detail they can before they start. Once they start the process is very organized and managed well. We had a specific project manager on site almost everyday. He scheduled the work to be done and handled any issues that may come up. Ours was Gerry who was always Johnny on the spot. He kept the job moving and he got it done by the deadline we needed. Can’t recommend JOMA enough. We will have them back for our next project we do.

I’m so glad we chose JOMA to redo our master bathroom. All of the various subcontractors who came in (demo, plumbing, tile, electrician, glass) were great at their jobs, and do high quality work. And cleaned up after themselves every day. A very tidy worksite!Jason McCall was our main project leader and he did an outstanding job. Projects like this are not easy, with supply shortages and shipping hiccups, alongside the tradespeople coming in and out for a few months, but he made it a good experience. Responsive, reliable, dedicated to getting it right and keeping us happy and in the loop. My dog likes him, too, and he’s an excellent judge of character!With the amount of work travel I do, I wanted a hotel-quality bathroom to equal what I see on the road, and I’m absolutely thrilled to come home to it now. I am happy with the quality, cost and schedule on my deck rebuilt from old pine to Trex composite wood. JOMA is employee owned and every person in the design and build process was keen on making certain the quality was excellent. The cost estimate was clear to me and the changes made were changes the scope of work which I initiated. The project started on time. There was some delay because of weather and material availability, but I aways felt my deck was a JOMA priority. The project manager, Jason, is upbeat and frequently met with me to discuss progress and questions I had. I am very satisfied!

JOMA Construction was our choice for creating an addition to our home because of their reputation for quality of work in the community surrounding Athens. My husband and I needed to add a bedroom and bath on the main floor of our almost 50-year-old home with the objective of aging in place in the future. From our initial contact at JOMA’s offices to the final detail work on a pocket door latch, the entire process was performed with knowledgable, skilled tradespersons who LISTENED to our ideas and needs. JOMA converted them into a unique space that melded the original structure to the addition. Each group of specialized workers was respectful of our situation, treating us with patience as they made changes to fit unforeseen obstacles in the build, as examples, granite rock present during the excavation of the basement or tight angles of truss supports through which air ducts needed to be threaded. Especially helpful was their computer program that allowed the planning, scheduling and progress of the build to be viewed by all parties in real time. Jason McCall, our project manager, was especially responsive on a daily basis, helping with scheduling work and solving problems as they arose. We are so pleased with the structure and grateful for all the hard work of the JOMA professionals that made it a reality.

Edit/ Update: I’m sorry to have to warn potential JOMA clients to be wary of their employee, a project manager named Joseph A. After my remodel was complete, I hired him outside of JOMA for a few projects at my house. On the last project, he pocketed several hundred dollars without completing the work and stopped responding to my messages. Don’t trust him on your project.Original review:I had a great experience when I hired the JOMA team to remodel a house that I bought. It was an extensive renovation: complete kitchen gut and expansion, remodeled two baths, traded carpet for hardwoods, detailed trim and molding work, stone work on fireplace and kitchen island, custom mantel and a challenging light fixture. Everyone that comes to my house is very impressed with the work they did.

Our project consisted of renovating a 1450 sq ft basement. Our home was built in 1951. We worked with JOMA to convert our screen porch into a new bedroom and bathroom. JOMA is a big company, but I felt like our project manager Jason genuinely cared, not just about the job but also about our family. Our son was born midway through the project, and the team took extra precautions to keep him safe from fumes, etc. There were so many days Jason went the extra mile to get things done, whether it was finding ways to work around my newborn and crazy dog or running out to the store in the middle of the day to make sure we got the exact shade of stain we wanted. It was a long process, mostly of because supply-chain issues beyond anyone’s control, but I was SO happy with the final product.

We called on JOMA to remodel our bathroom and received gracious help throughout the whole process. As we were changing from shower insert to handicap access we had numerous projects to address from tile work to painting, and from enlarging doorways to installing grab bars and new comfort height toilets. From start to finish we received great advice and recommendations from Kelly, and all crew members were always courteous, punctual, thoughtful, and showed a high degree of skill in their respective areas. Although we must have been a small project for JOMA, we were extremely satisfied with the quality of work and attention to details. Not only would we highly recommend JOMA for any remodeling work, but we would be highly surprised if you did not have the great experience we did. We hired JOMA to replace a rotten exterior wall, repair termite damage, replace water- damaged drywall, and seal a leak around our chimney. The staff was very professional. We had good communication with them. They were always polite and respectful. The final cost matched the estimate for each phase of the project. We are very pleased with their work. For our big project, it was comforting to be working with them because we knew that the repairs would be done right. We would not hesitate to call them again in the future. Highly recommended.

We had JOMA extend an upper floor room. The work required opening a roof, building a large dormer-style extension, and drying everything in. Everything was done to a very high standard, on schedule, and on budget. No complaints. Only compliments on their workmanship.But what is worth noting is the care they took to make sure the rest of my house and property were respected during the process. Jason, our jobs supervisor, did a phenomenal job coordinating the different work crews, making sure they showed up when scheduled, and making sure other parts of our house and yard werent torn apart during the process. They even laid down, and picked up, straw on our lawn after a rain storm to ensure our lawn didnt get torn up. It was Jasons attention to ALL the little details of the remodel, not just the actual work, that really impressed me. I strongly recommend.

Joma fixed my chimney about a month ago which was sinking into the crawlspace. Jason did a great job keeping me updated and sending me pictures of the project. I was surprised at how fast they fixed it. They replaced the mantel, masonry, hearth, and rotten wood all in about a week. I am very happy with the final project and will keep them in mind for future projects.

When we called to have our slightly sloping hall fixed, I never imagined it would be so quick and easy (for me at least, as didn’t have to crawl through the tiny crawl space to actually do the work). The floor is now level, was repaired for a reasonable price, and done in a timely manner by courteous workers!

We hired JOMA to replace some worn-out storm doors, a French door on an outbuilding, and several rotten/damaged spots in our soffits, eaves, and around a door, install new locks, and paint the repaired places. They gave us a good estimate up front, worked with us to select replacement parts that fit our lifestyle and budget, started on time and finished on schedule, even after discovering more rot than expected. Jason, the lead on our project, kept us up-to-date on progress and issues and was instantly available anytime we had a question. Great experience! We will be using them again.

I’m glad I chose JOMA to remodel my bathroom. The only negative thing was the delay in finishing the job. I understand this is a difficult time for contractors, with worker shortages and supply chain issues, so I won’t blame JOMA. I would use them again, but not until these problems have been resolved. The JOMA people I worked with were, without exception, professional, courteous and reasonable.

We used JOMA to screen in an existing porch, build a new grill deck, add a sun room, and convert an existing bedroom into an ensuite bathroom for another bedroom and a new laundry room. They also tended to various additional honey-dos, like reworking the stone on our front porch pillars, replacing decades old electrical/fixtures with new LED can lights, updating our fire/smoke detection, etc. etc. etc. JOMAs process, from initial discussion through design to setting expectations and actual construction and finishing is straightforward, powered by clear and timely communication throughout. Even at moments of unavoidable hurdle or delay, explanation was clear and follow through remained consistent. You can trust them to be honest, and you can trust them to follow through. And the final product is gorgeous (they even went back and repainted our interiors when the initial job didnt meet THEIR expectations) - were over the moon, and had a much better experience than several of our friends and family who recently went through remodels with different companies. Highest recommendation!

We recently purchased an 80 year old home, and we used Joma to complete our remodeling project. The project started at the peak of the pandemic, which posed many first time challenges (availability of materials and workers, following health and safety guidelines, finding alternatives to face to face communication, etc.) for the Joma team. The team rose to the occasion. Everyone was knowledgeable, kind, accessible, reliable, prompt, and communicative. Our Project Managers, Joseph and Kelly, were all of those things and made every effort to meet our needs and get everything done just as we wanted it done. Our home is now beautiful and very functional for our family. We appreciate Joma Construction!

JOMA remodeled our master bathroom. It was a positive experience from start to finish. They stayed on schedule and we liked their professional team approach to the project. Russ Sanders was great to work with as he guided us through the process and prepared the contract. Kelly Moates was very patient in helping guide us in our selection of fixtures. Kris Pittard, Interior Designer at Dalton Carpet, saved us a lot of stress in helping us coordinate the flooring with wall and cabinet colors and countertops. Billy Brown and Adi Sandu, Project Managers, were excellent to work with, and kept us informed as to which workers were scheduled to work each week, what day and time to expect them and what they were going to do. Billy or Adi inspected the project several times each week. Billy made certain we were happy with the end result and addressed any concerns and issues we raised. They even provided a cleaning service to clean the bathroom and adjoining bedroom to make all move-in ready. We will recommend JOMA to others and will call upon them again when future renovation arise.projects arise.

JOMA did a remodel of our restaurant bar at DePalmas on Timothy rd in Athens - it was a time sensitive job, had to be done in under a week in order to reopen and minimize losses - and there was a budget constraint.Not only was the bar absolutely a beautiful piece of work but it was on time and on budget - now who can say that these days about a contractor?!I highly recommend this company for their design skills and execution ability - I have worked with many over the last 30 years, JOMA is my new contractor for DePalmas and personal projects.

One of the old gigantic columns supporting our house split in two during the pandemic. My husband and I called everyone we knew to help solve this problem. Everyone that came by said that we would have to change all of our columns. That would have involved great expense and would have destroyed a hedge that has taken us 27 years to grow. A friend suggested JOMA. They came out right away. They called in a man who had a tremendous knowledge of wood. Another man checked the structural support. The two men cane up with a plan that involved large screws. The column was fixed and painted in three days!!!! We also had a pipe break and our basement flood. The men are here this week and the floor should be put down and the new tub put in by the end of next week. They come when they say they will come. They stand by their work. I can not say enough good things about each man that has worked on this house. My husband and I highly recommend JOMA!

JOMA put in all new windows and doors for us along with a little bit of kitchen upgrade. They were amazing! We have never worked with such a consumer oriented company. Jason was awesome. He always kept in contact with us and let us know what was going on. He was knowledgeable and helpful when working out problems and details. We were very impressed! We have been telling friends how great JOMA is and will definitely use them again on our next project! And by the way, the windows and door turned out great!

JOMA built a back porch to cover our existing slab patio. They also did some concrete work as we extended a portion of the patio. I knew of JOMA from living in Athens and initially figured they would not do a job this small. However, after a few contractors either didn’t show up to provide an estimate or just never called us back, we contacted JOMA, who was always professional and responsive. I came to find out that they gladly do smaller construction jobs and are even trying to expand that portion of their business. Our project was managed through an app where we could always find up to date information and photos, and we had a project manager, Billy Brown, who was fantastic. I always knew the status of our project, and could always contact someone if I had questions. I would highly recommend JOMA for a construction project at your house.

I used JOMA for a small but meaningful interior project – to add a custom door in the hallway with sidelights and a transom. My goal was to create a more private yet open master living space in keeping with the character of our home. JOMA provided excellent communication, impeccable professionalism, and top-quality workmanship. From initial sketches by Jason (project manager) to custom trim and perfectly matched hardware, I could tell that the project was as important to them as it was to me. The JOMA team exceeded every expectation we had from beginning to end. We selected JOMA for our recent kitchen remodel and are extremely happy with the results. Billy, our project manager, was prompt with communication and an incredible problem solver. He is transparent, listened to our concerns, and addressed every question we had through the entire project. Work went on each day as stated on the schedule and while we could not be around to see most of the action we trusted Billy and the team to take care of things. Adi supported through the project and ensured contractors followed through on commitments. He was very professional and attentive to our needs and requests. JOMAs reputation in Athens and Watkinsville is well earned especially with this incredible team. Though we did not get to meet the dozens of team members who came through our project it was a great experience. I recommend this team for any home project.

We needed some crown molding installed in our house. We called JOMA and they came out for the estimate. On the day of the installation the staff arrived on time and began working. The installation was done by the end of the day and the team cleaned everything up. The staff were friendly and professional. They didnt even mind working around our Chocolate Lab who likes to get in the way. My wife and I were very pleased with the work and would definitely use JOMA in the future.
