DMV Renovation did an amazing job on our bathroom and kitchen. Julio was fantastic to work with start to finish. He was always available for questions, worked to understand our vision, and always kept price in mind. We were particularly impressed with the beautiful tilework and innovation he brought to our tricky bathroom set up and problem solving when removing our kitchen bulkhead. His team was hardworking, always considerate, and delivered on the quality promised. He was also quick. We didnt have to wait too long to start or for the work to be complete. We could not have been happier and the pictures prove it!

I am so glad I contacted DMV Renovation. After 7 years of having tenants at my condo my place needed a lot of work. After getting different estimates from different companies I decided to go with DMV Renovation. The communication, professionalism, price, understanding of what I wanted and needed was amazing! They kept me posted every step of the way including sending pictures to a portal I logged into to see what they had done each day. They even provided great ideas on how I could save money with the renovation. The before and after was incredible. The paint, kitchen, bathroom tiles, closets, balcony, light fixtures, wood floors, looked incredible after they were done. It looked so good that my condo sold in two days!!! if you’re looking for a responsible, transparent, reliable, knowledgeable contractor to do any type of work, look no further. I was working on a whole house remodeling project in the DMV area when I met Julio. I have had to fire two incompetent contractors, he was my third contractor on the project and I was very nervous after my experience with other contractors. He took on my project like it was his own and he completed my project within a very reasonable time frame.I have been a real estate investor for 6 years and Julio is by far the most trustworthy, competent and reliable contractor I have ever worked with and I absolutely look forward to working with him again. DMV did an excellent job on our bathroom remodel. We had contracted with an online design company who hired DMV and the design company screwed things up from beginning to end. I think the project ended up taking about 10 months (for one small bathroom). But DMV really went above and beyond to get the job completed, and theyve come back to fix some small problems weve had afterwards. They purchased materials at their own expense, not knowing if theyd ever be reimbursed, in order to keep construction moving! If it werent for the professionalism and follow through of DMV, I dont know what would have happened. Since I didnt hire DMV directly, I cant speak to many aspects of their business, but they really saved me from a terrible disaster. They subcontracted out the actual work, but they made an excellent choice and the quality of the construction is excellent. Beautiful tile work, and total respect for my home in the process. I would definitely hire them again.

Where to start? We had our kitchen opened. I am very satisfied with the work DMV Renovation provided. From Elena in the office to Julio the project manager and the staff who did the work, the entire team was courteous, experienced and proficient. The process was smooth and professionally executed.I liked that I was listened to and consulted about what I wanted throughout the the duration of the work.The price was competitive and fair, with a detailed scope of work so there were no surprises or hidden fees like I have seen in quotes from other contractors.We love our new open kitchen, and are now saving to remodel a bathroom. When we are ready we will definitely call DMV Renovation and have them transform our bathroom.

Had a slight emergency as a nasty leak had developed in my ceiling from what I suspected was my bathroom shower. Found DMV Renovation through a search and liked the reviews. I was expecting to hear from them within a few days, but was pleasantly surprised to hear back within a few minutes AND they offered to come out that night to check out what the possible problem was regarding the water damage. Rafael and Tony came back the very next day, did a few tests and found out my problem was a poorly installed shower pan. The guys got to work immediately and even helped me find a beautiful new tile and door for my new shower. Tony and his crew were amazing to work with from day one. They helped make a highly stressful situation into a much more easily manageable and surprisingly stress free experience. Tony personally saw to the work himself and took the extra time and care to make sure the job was done right every time he and his crew worked. The work was excellent and looking at my place now, youd never even know there was ever any damage. Cannot say enough good things about the quality of service and professionalism from DMV Renovation.

TLDR: If you work with Estiven as your project/construction manager and can stay on top of the job, youll be happy with the result. Estiven is a real asset to DMV and his hard work (and his construction teams work) earned DMV the overall 5 star rating for our job.On the other hand, DMV as a whole could improve their operations and your experience might differ depending on who you work with, so please tread carefully.*Our project*- (Initial scope with Martin and Tony) Small kitchen (~140 sf) full renovation to replace everything including floors, cabinets, countertops, sink/faucet, and add a new sidebar along one wall, with new electronics and lighting as well. Quoted initially by Martin and Tony at ~$19K, ended up at ~$30K.- (Added scope after we started working with Estiven) Replacement of all hardwood floors (~2000 sf home), insulate and refinish closets, paint ceilings and bedrooms, install several ceiling fans. Quoted initially by Estiven at ~$30K and ended up as quoted.- The initial project scope was estimated to take 6 weeks to complete – Estiven and team had 90% of the full job finished within that time frame (would have been 100% but for having to wait on some mis-ordered/mis-delivered cabinets).*Initial planning and material orders (w/ Martin, Tony, Elena, and Maria)*Pros:- Initial schematic renderings by Maria were provided quickly and looked great.- Martin was prompt in his initial engagement and provided us a reasonable-looking quote quickly.- Tony and Elena were generally available by text and pretty responsive.Cons:- The initial project quote was not particularly detailed and this burned us later (see bullet below about cost increase.)- After signing the project contract we switched to working with Tony and things started to go downhill.- Tony was very late to both of our onsite planning meetings.- As material order details began to be hashed out, the initial quote quickly increased from ~$19K to ~$30K; the cost of quartz countertops and cabinets had been significantly underestimated.- Tony pushed us to pay the change order for the cost increase immediately, which was inconsistent with the contract/payment plan. This request was finally withdrawn after pushback from us, but it took effort and time.- Tony failed to verify our Next Day cabinet order to ensure consistency with the plans we had discussed (despite Elena saying he had done so); this ultimately resulted in errors in the Next Day cabinet selection and delivery that Estiven had to address later.- After making cabinet selections, it took weeks for DMV to place the cabinet order with Next Day, delaying the overall project.- Tony gave us no guidance on floor material selection. We chose travertine, which we later found out from Estiven is very hard to maintain; Estiven had to correct this issue.*Project execution (w/ Estiven and his crew)*Pros:- Estiven is a superb and hard-working project manager; he is also a designer and knows how to do the construction work himself. He bring so much to the table for DMV. (Not to mention hes a great person and easy to talk to!)- Estivens crews were also great, generally showing up on time, working hard and respectfully throughout.- Estiven was especially good at adapting to our changing requests through the project and generating detailed change orders/scopes as documentation.- Estiven also skillfully rectified a number of issues he didnt create, including mis-ordered/mis-delivered cabinets and our poor choice of flooring material.- Estiven/team made so much progress on the initial scope within a week that we added on the entirely new scope to replace hardwood floors, insulate closets, add ceiling fans, and paint. This new scope was handled beautifully and right in stride with the initial work, with the quote, materials, crews, and execution staged in rapid succession.- Estiven has great attention to details/ensuring they get done.Cons:- While the teams almost always arrived on time and as planned, Estiven became harder to get onsite as the project wore on.

Julio Guzman with IRS, inc recently completed a kitchen remodel job at my home. They were serious about the quality of their work. Attentive to detail. They were instrumental in creating ways to customize kitchen. I was pleased with the time spent and punctuality. The crew was professional under Mr Guzman’s monitoring. They worked extremely hard on kitchen remodeling. All time was well spent. They even worked on a Sunday. Prior to meeting with IRS, inc, , another competitor said that the project would take 6 weeks for completion. However, it only took IRS, inc a little over 2 weeks. My wife and I were extremely happy with their work and immediately began to share our good fortune with friends and family who may want home improvement in the future. We have done business with Julio Guzman, the owner of DMV Renovation for over 10 years. He did almost a complete renovation of our split level home in Vienna, allowing us to sell it for way over asking price in 2 days. In our new home in Aldie, he finished upgrading our basement and entrance hall, and recently installed new quartz counter tops and a marble back splash. He always has offered us the highest quality work for a very reasonable price.

Julio and his team were remarkable. I would like to keep them for myself, but I know that is impossible. lol I cant be selfish. Iol I have shared his info with a few of my friends and they have called him already. They did not waste anytime, especially after I shared the work they did for me lolol . I have had some horrible experiences, however Julio and his team really provided me with the most pleasant experience. I have come to learn through him they are not all crooks. I have learnt how to select a contractor. Julio was the 18th contractor I interviewed for the job. AND THAT IS NO LIE! I had people quote me from $5000 to $60,000. I also had people quote me mid range, that is how I knew who was trying to milk me. Once I heard people quoting me in the same ballpark, it gave me a clue of the cost of repairs. I also came across people who did not want to work with me, and I can surmise many factors under the umbrella of judgement. However, Julio came in did an assessment, heard my views and when I couldnt see any further on a vision, he expanded on a vision. He took measurements, sent me a virtual diagram of what it would look like, he sent me blueprints, itinerary of every detail. Things that I was concerned with , I brought it to his attention and/or the team, and they addressed it. On a side note, although the job, is done, I called them back because one thing isnt working right, and they have to install 2 things, so I am waiting for them to return. Julio checked in periodically, but Marvin was the man of the day onsite. He too, was splendid. Hands down! I must say just like we pick and choose who we want to do the job, contractors too pick and choose who they want to work with. I am extremely fortunate that I came across Julio, Marvin and everyone and they wanted to work with me. They were timely, friendly and most of all respectful of my family being that I have an elderly parent and a young child. I am sharing this valuable experience with you all because it is important to highlight professionalism and customer service .
