Blue Door Painters saved our deck. It was stained earlier in the season by a different company, who used water-based and oil-based paint, one on top of the other for the two coats, which created many raised black spots. Also, the application of the stain was very sloppy. Blue Door analyzed the problem and corrected it by sanding the entire deck and properly staining it. The deck looks beautiful now thanks to the professional and knowledgable painters at Blue Door. We will definitely hire them for all of our painting needs.

Im an out of town owner and dont get into town very often, so I rely on people I know and recommendations of people I know. Blue Door Painters did a great job of repainting and all the walls and ceilings and making repairs where needed. They also replaced the shades, repaired the front storm door, replaced smoke/CO2 detectorsm and repainted the floor in the utility room. Everything looks great. I would highly recommend Blue Door Painters.

I have been using Blue Door Painters exclusively for all of my exterior painting and wood maintenance for around 15 years now. They do a fantastic job on my 1935 Arlington colonial with a large wood 1990s addition. Because the 90s wood is not the best quality we see each other every 18 months replacing different sections here and there. Theyve painted my whole house twice and the last time they steamed/scraped the old wood down a dozen layers. That was four years ago and it still looks fantastic even though it gets blasted by western sun.Ive had 8 shutters replaced with them too. They look great. Have not had a chance for interior painting yet, but when I do I know Ill call them.They communicate well start to finish and are very fairly priced. Always on budget, on time, clean and excellent work. My house is always looking great with Blue Door.

The crew who did our work - Luis and Manuel - were on time, polite, and cleaned up our spaces at the end of each work day. We have worked with Blue Door Painters since 2009. When we bought our first house they completed both exterior and interior work. We have now moved and they completed extensive interior painting in our home. They do great and timely work for a competitive price. They take care in the work and provide a walk through before completion. They always leave everything clean at the end of each day when working on a multiple day project. Overall, their communication is good - the quote is quick, negotiating the contract is professional, the time to set up the job is communicated well, and discussing the paints and actual job occur daily.

I hired Blue Door Painters as a rescue mission to finish painting my aluminum siding. My wife and I were not comfortable working on tall ladders ourselves. I contacted Jeff (the owner) and he and I worked out a price. I was pleased to hear that Blue Door Painters was available to come to my house at a time that was convenient to me. I was really impressed with how much was accomplished in the time allowed. I have used Blue Door Painters several times and have been very happy every time. For todays job I got a flat rate for two painters, hoping theyd be able to complete two or three rooms. The painters arrived on time and worked so efficiently that they were able to complete all three rooms, as well as several doors and trim that werent in the original scope of work but desperately in need of some paint. I will definitely use Blue Door Painters again and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I have used Blue Door multiple times over the last 11 years. Most recently they painted probably 50 percent or more of my new home and did powerwashing for me. Fernando was great setting up the estimate and getting the team ready. I think they are very competitive price-wise. I needed some colors matched and they made that happen. Luis and Manuel were a great team - cleaned up each night and did a final tidying on their last day. They went above and beyond to make sure the job was to my liking - and added a couple of extras! Jeffrey called to check in on how things were going. They are a solid company offering great customer service. Very pleased, highly recommend.

Blue Door gave me a detailed written estimate that was considerably cheaper than a competing estimate; they were able to fit me in to the schedule much sooner than I anticipated; they were in and out in one day; and they did a great job. Superior job on the exterior of our home.Part of the job included some power washing. The did such a good job that we contracted for some additional power washing.The key to a good paint job is the prep. Blue Doors prep was excellent, esp on the exterior doors. I had painted the doors several times in the past and always ended up with a ridge around the edges from closing the door tooo soon after painting. My wife loves the fact the doors are now smooth.I obtained many estimates. Blue Door provided the most professional estimate I have ever received from a contractor. Not only did it include photos and a detailed scope of work, they included a copy of their business license and statement of insurance.Blue Door wasnt the least expensive, but when comparing estimates make sure you are comparing apples to apples. All of my other estimates were for a single coat of paint, Blue Door does two coats.We will definitely use Blue Door again.

Ive used Blue Door Painters for two interior jobs, one job for full room repaints and one job for water damage repair. They are by far the most responsive in the area (DC metro), I got a callback within 30 minutes both times Ive used them. The painters showed up on the dot for both jobs and masked off, covered, or otherwise protected everything that was not to be painted or restored. Jeffrey (the owner) called for status updates as the job progressed to ensure everything was going well. I had no issues or concerns for either job. One thing to note is their estimates come through an online service, but contracts are pen and paper and in person. (At the time of writing) I dont believe they have online contract agreements or payment methods.

I had 2 painters come for 2 days to paint 3 ceilings, a hallway, and a stairway. They were very professional, good at communicating, arrived on time each day around 7:30am (actually early!), and finished on time each day, around 4pm. They covered everything well, kept everything neat and tidy as they worked, and cleaned up very well each day. Their work was very high quality. It was a very smooth and pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

My wife and I contracted with Blue Door back in July to paint the interior of our home before we moved in. Estimator was prompt, thorough and easy to work with. They have a color consultant on staff who was very helpful in choosing the right paint for our home (bright, but not too bright, neutral but not boring etc.). Price was very reasonable for the area. Their quoted price was right in the middle of all of the estimates we had received. They finished the work quicker than expected and even worked through our move in, which certainly was not easy. Minor details were corrected promptly. No complaints. If we have a big job again in the future I would certainly contact Blue Door first.

Knowing my family would be coming back to the U.S. this summer to live in a house weve owned but havent lived in for six years, I contacted a number of companies for estimates of interior and exterior painting during a quick trip to the area in March. Blue Door responded quickly and professionally, surveyed the house with me and sent me an estimate which - while not the least expensive, was the most detailed and forthcoming about costs for various alternatives I might want done.Based on this, I selected Blue Door and was not disappointed. The color consultation service was invaluable (and free!) and greatly enhanced the selection process for the interior colors. They completed all the work within the week allotted, and any extra costs were discussed beforehand and agreed to (for example, we decided to add trim for some rooms). Overall I would highly recommend Blue Door and wouldnt hesitate to use them again.

Our HOA painted the brick buildings a couple of years ago, but the prep/prime work was not done properly and the paint started to peel off after 1-2 years. Therefore, we were careful as we decided to paint this time and interview several painters. Blue Door was patient in answering all our questions both before and during the job. They took about 2 days to prep and paint 8 two-storey row houses. The results look nice now and we are waiting to see how long these last.

We were extremely happy with Blue Door Painters on both jobs.Wed heard about Blue Door Painters through a neighbor who was working as a color consultant for Blue Door Painters. Debbie was absolutely fantastic--her color recommendations were right on the money and she was very thorough. The crew that came to paint the exterior was professional, punctual, and did a wonderful job. After an initial misstep in MY color choice (because I didnt listen to Debbie on ALL her color recommendations) he crew quickly accommodated the change.About a year later, we had BDP to repair woodpecker damage on our siding. Because the siding was older wood composite that is no longer manufactured and the jobs were small, we had trouble finding a repair company. Finally one of the siding companies recommended that we contact a painting company instead. Wow. BDP once again delivered.BDP understands customer service. They will call before and after each work and if theres a possibility that the work can be performed prior to the agreed-upon date, theyll call to see if its something you desire.We believe in the adage that you get what you pay for. With BDP, you get more than what you pay for.

We did a full interior painting (including drywall repair) and full exterior brick painting, including a large deck and detailed railings. Fernando and Jeffrey were great as well for the back-office work and were always available to answer my questions. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Every encounter with a Blue Door employee/representative was professional and pleasant. They painted the exterior of our home. It took about 10 days and Manual and Luis were there every day on time. They did not rush to finish and move on to the next job. Their work is neat and meticulous. I was a little anxious about color matching with the old paint color and they went out of their way and to several different paint stores to mix a perfect match. They wanted me to be happy with the color, and I appreciate their patience as I debated. Fernando was my first point of contact and he is awesome to work with. Thanks to all at Blue Door. I have found it extremely difficult to find a reliable painting company that provides reliable painting services. I recently tried out Blue Door Painters to fix some mistakes that another painting company made. Their level of detail to address and resolve the trouble areas throughout the house put me at ease. I was so pleased out their hassle-free, babysit-free services that I called them back in to do some wall repair, patching, and painting that was needed after some last-minute electrical work. A big thanks to Blue Door Painters for giving my house the final finished look that I had wanted, but also for doing so in a way that made me trust their workmanship.

Overall a very good experience. The estimate came below the competitors (half as much as one competitor) and the paint work was excellent. The proposal is very clear, and also includes their licenses, etc. They used “primer and paint in one” from Sherwin Williams which covered up everything that was there before. The painter arrived early and finished the job in a timely fashion. He was polite and professional. I would use this company again.
