We’re so grateful that we found RDL Electric!!! Without going into too much detail, our tankless gas water heater was tripping the circuit. Over the phone, Bobby guided me through steps to determine that it was not the water heater. He always answered and was extremely patient. He and his son came out very promptly, diagnosed the problem, and discussed options to fix it. It’s working fine now! It’s so nice to have such a competent, ethical, reasonable, professional and responsive electrician!! We will not look elsewhere when we need an electrician in the future!!

This guy is the bees knees. I was dealing with a intermittent short at my house that was killing breakers... He found the circuit and repaired it, and it solved all these crazy problems I was having. Since then, I had him install a whole house surge protection system, a plug in for a house generator. An outdoor panel box for my shed and wired it. Converted all my garage lights to LED!! He is truly talented and meticulous to detail. But not bad for a Yankee.... This guy is awesome.

He gave me a killer price to do some last minute work, and had the patience to talk my idiot self through where I messed up on the project to help in the future. Bob and Tristan arrived and quickly solved a problem quite creatively. They were prepared and knowledgeable, and really nice to work with. They installed a floor outlet for me to support surround sound speakers. It is so much nicer and safer to be freed from having cords coming from walls! I should have called them years ago for this. Bob came recommended to us by a friend, and we could not be more satisfied by his work, professionalism, and honesty. He was timely in coming out to look at our needs as well as getting back to us with an estimate. His prices were right in line or lower than other estimates received. He arrived on time, mounted two large TVs and a makeup mirror, relocated our cable and DSL line to a closet, and made sure everything was working as expected and that I was satisfied before leaving. Additionally, he made recommendations to prevent us from spending unnecessary money with the project. Highly recommended!

Very professional, very high quality, excellent price! Bob did a fantastic job. He installed two fan boxes with switches, a light over our shower with a switch, and a motion light outside our garage. Everything was very professionally done, he was very fast (finishing in about 6 hours), and cleaning up after the work so it was like he wasnt even there.

I called four electricians to install a 240v-50a circuit for an electric vehicle charger. Bob was one of two to answer the phone. He came out within four hours to provide a free quote. The other contractor to answer the phone also came out for a free quote the same day. Bobs quote was $200 less than the other guy, before the other guy began acting like a used car dealer, and still beat him after the discounts he began offering were all done. Of the other two that did not answer the phone, one called back two days later and the other never called back. Bob showed up to do the work when he said he would, did his work in an expeditious manner, and did an excellent job. Even the Town of Cary inspector was impressed. The thing I particularly like about Bob is that he always answers his phone. Its a family business. I couldnt give him a higher recommendation.

I have a lot of good things to say about RDL Electric even though I have never physically met any of their service engineers on my property.My irrigation system stopped working and all outside receptacles had no power. I called a service, the appointment was three weeks away (7/8 to 7/29).I then called RDL Electric; the gentleman over phone helped me troubleshoot by asking many detailed questions. Finally the problem was narrowed down to GFI receptacles in my garage. I checked all three which were normal, but he insisted I looked for one more, which was hiding behind my tool box. Surely that was tripped. After resetting it, the outside receptacles and the irrigation system have power back!! My problem was solved!I feel bad that I didnt even know this gentlemans name. He could easily make over $200 by just coming to my house, plus the labor cost spent on trouble shooting. Instead, he helped me for free.When I verbally thanked him, he said he was only do the right thing to his clints. Wow! I am so moved. Thank you!!

I attempt to do most home projects myself but came across a situation that was completely new to me. I called Rob who said he always enjoys teaching other people so he was happy to help. I sent him a few pictures and a video and he gave me his thoughts and guidance on what needed to be done and how. If I decide I need a professional I will definitely give him a call for this and future projects solely based on his excellent service to a potential customer.As an update I had Rob and his son come do a job for me in my home. To summarize; on time, great work and a great rate. Not to mention they are genuine and kind people. You couldn’t ask for more.

Suddenly I had two non working outlets in my master bath. I reached out to RDL and got a call back from Bobby. I explained my issue and steps I had taken already (resetting the breaker box). He walked me through what to check (a GFI switch) on an outlet in my other bathroom! I reset it and my issue was fixed! He further explained how GFIs are setup in a home so I could understand what happen.All I can say is WOW! Truly an honest professional who wants to help customers. I doubt any other place would have given advice over the phone. I would strongly encourage anyone needing electrical help call RDL!

I am so so happy I found them! We changed out many ceiling fans, added outlets, changed about every switch I have to a dimmer, remove an ugly box light in my kitchen and added recessed lighting, oh and changed out my noisy bathroom fan for a more powerful and quieter model. I still have more projects for them to come. Highly recommend.

In need of a reliable and reasonably-priced electrician, and having struck out finding that company in the Wilmington area, a friend from Raleigh recommended RDL Electric, Apex, NC. It was suggested, RDLs owner, Bob Lantry, often travels to Wilmington and might be available during one of his trips to the coast. In fact, this happened, and Bob and his son, Robert, showed up on a Friday morning all set to tackle the installation of a 60+ wall unit TV, replacement of an 18-year-old attic fan that had frozen, and installation of LED lighting (replacing florescent) under all kitchen cabinets.Not only did RDL Electric do a professional job, Bob and son, were neat, polite, and reasonably priced. Arrangements are already being made for another trip to the beach so that RDL can install an indoor switch for a deck awning and the installation of front yard lighting. An extremely positive experience. Recommend to all Raleigh-based residential owners.

Turned on the master bedroom bathroom lights and everything in the master bedroom went dead. Checked the fuse box and that was not the problem. I had a short and having worked around electrical machinery for over 30 years, this needed to be repaired ASAP. Called RDL and they were at my house within a half hour. They looked at the problem and analysed the situation. They traced the wired inside the master bedroom and underneath the house. It only took them about 20 minutes to find the problem and it was a short in an electrical outlet. Took them just a few minutes to repair the problem. All of the electrical items in the master bedroom now work and I will be able to sleep very peacefully tonight. Great job for a great price and they are now on my speed dial.

I called to get a price on upgrading two residential outlets to one that has usb outlets. When I called I spoke to the owner Bobby. He said he would need to charge me a minimum for 1 hr work and to be honest if I was up to it he would tell me what material I would need and walk me through it at “No charge”. I did it with Bobby’s guidance and I am happy. Bobby could of taken me for some cash if you choose, but didn’t. RDL Electric is the best! Bobby found the electric problem I was having almost immediately. He knew exactly what to look for and found the very dangerous Open Neutral by checking all connections from the entrance panel and working forward to the inside breaker box. A cheap chinese part had fallen apart in one of the power boxs, hidden from view! He looked beyond what was easy to find and searched for a failing connection in a hidden place. Another week with this issue and I would have lost most of the electronics in my house. So glad I called Bobby at RDL!
