We have lived in the area for 27 years and our first time trying Independent Carpet was this year. This company did not disappoint as pricing was fair. Our salesman, Jason, was great at showing us samples of what meet my Mothers needs. He was very responsive via telephone call and email. We had some time to spare, so we stopped in to pay the deposit and unfortunately Jason was not available until later in the day, but Cameron assisted us by providing detailed information on the next steps, how to prepare for installation and warranty. With installation, the gentleman came out prior to the carpet install for measurements. He called before arrival and arrived timely! He answered additional questions. The day of install, the installers arrived promptly and worked until the job was complete. They were in and out. I would recommend Independent Carpet as they are an honest company who seems to believe in customer service! The experience was good.

We enjoyed every part of our experience working with Independent One, no pressure sales, take a sample home and see how it looks for a few days, answered many questions over the phone, rescheduled install at our convenience. The installers were good and a few adjustments that needed to be made from the initial plan were taken care of at no extra expense to us! We love the look of our new floors (carpet and laminate-its like a new house! They are even making a few remnants into rugs for us to go on the laminate that coordinates so nicely!

Id give Independent Carpet more stars if I could. I had my entire house re-carpeted this past Saturday. From Jeane, my designer, to Eli, my installer, everything was perfect.Jeane was extremely patient about helping me find the right carpet. She knew I was nervous about the project. I brought in furniture fabric samples and she gave me 4 carpet samples she thought would work for me. I took them home, chose what I thought was best and ordered the carpeting.Even though I liked my choice, I was still extremely nervous. Second guessing myself is my hobby. Jeane continued to reassure me.Jeane chose Eli to be my installer. He was patient, kind, considerate and incredibly hard working. He did an amazing job. He and his partner, Mike, went above and beyond my expectations.I love my new carpeting. I would heartily encourage anyone looking for carpeting to pay a visit to Independent Carpet.

From Tamika who made me take a sample home that I didn’t think I wanted (that’s the one I bought!), to the ordering, the measuring, and Joe coming out to survey situation and assure me, to the installers who were skilled, friendly and efficient, I couldn’t be happier. All went perfect! Almost 40 years of satisfaction. Now that’s something these days!

Had a very good experience with Independent Carpet One. Purchased hardwood flooring and carpeting for nearly my entire house and had them install. Cathy is great with a keen eye for color, design and knowing the composition of each carpet as I was interested in as natural a carpet as possible. She also helped me get a sample of the hardwood I was interested in. I am very pleased with both the hardwood and carpet.Hardwood installer, Joe, was awesome. We did all removal of old carpeting, flooring, screwing down of subfloors, but we still had some quick fixes to do at start of installation. I would make sure your floors are in best shape possible prior to installation to avoid any additional or unexpected work. Carpet installation was quick and easy as we also prepped the rooms by moving out all the furniture.

Tamika was great in helping us pick out our carpet. We were able to take sample carpets home to see was was best in our home. She was very helpful in scheduling an installation date that worked best for us. The installers did a great job. They moved the living room furniture out and put it back in and made sure it was where we wanted it. No issues with the carpet installation. They did 2 rooms and a flight of stairs in one day.The old carpet was taken with them as promised. We were recommended by a friend to use Independent Carpet One and we would definitely use them again. Most Important is I Love my carpet!

Jeane presented carpet samples to me and was very honest and straightforward, as we viewed carpet that would blend well with the lighting in my condo, as well as the furniture design. Everyone at Independent Carpet One is very professional and extremely helpful. From receptionist, to sales, to installation, everyone was very friendly! I highly recommend this family owned business for any of your flooring needs! I cannot say enough good about them. I also want to give kudos to the father and son team, the Longs, who performed the installation of my carpet. I purchased carpet from here 10 years ago and was so pleased that I knew that this was where I wanted to get my new flooring. My original salesperson, Jeane, is still there, so I was thrilled. She was so meticulous with everything she did in helping me select my flooring. Her customer service as the job progressed was excellent. Joe was on point with everything from start to finish, making sure that all was being done according to plan. Mark did an amazing job of custom staining the baseboards, bringing a cohesive look to all of the shades of greys and browns in the flooring. The flooring itself enhanced my wall colors and cabinets (I never liked the cabinet color until now!) Tony and Abby were amazing installers. They are artists! The flooring and baseboards are perfectly laid, enhancing the different colors in the flooring. It truly is perfect. In addition, they were respectful not only of my home and possessions but also of me. They asked my opinion on how I wanted certain things done, they cleaned as they worked, and did a total clean up when they were finished. Our story starts out with a phone call to Cameron Mitchell, our sales contact we worked with in prior years. After meeting with him and taking a taking a few samples home, we ordered our LVT for our main living area. As usual, Cameron was personable and more than helpful with his insight and recommendations. He was able to secure the product we wanted too, and he received a big hug from me for that! The materials were delivered by Will and he was very nice to work with too. A few days later, enter Tony and Abbey for the install. OH ... MY ... GOSH! Tony and Abbey were fabulous!! They were detailed, professional, focused, and very, very nice to work with! Our floors were installed in 4 days and came out fantastic! They ran into one issue which was resolved when they called Joe S in for reinforcement! I called the store the afternoon they left to let them know how completely satisfied I was with Tony and Abbeys capabilities ... I truly cant say enough for their outstanding work. I miss these two already! ;o)Part 2 ... our story continues with the carpet install in 3 rooms and basement stairs. Eli and Ali were our carpet installers. The basement stairway is the star! We have a pattern to the carpet we selected for our stairs (a similar pattern we had installed at our prior home by another company, of which the pattern did not match up on the risers). Eli matched up the symmetry of the pattern on the risers ... to .. a .. tee!! We am very, very happy with the outcome and I smile every time I walk up and down those stairs!All in all, our experience with our new floors and new carpet throughout our main level was, without a doubt, one of the BEST and SATISFYING experiences EVER with a company like Independent Carpet One! The service and attention I received while shopping was second to none. The installation was performed a couple of weeks later by Joe and Ali. Both were friendly and professional and the installation for both rooms was excellent and completed in less than two hours.I would certainly recommend Independent Carpet One for anyone looking for new or replacement carpeting and if you want that soft plush feel, dont skimp on the cost of padding. Great experience from start to finish! Bob, my salesman, was fantastic. I was interested in sheet vinyl flooring and he helped me pick out several possibilities. I was able to take large samples home to try them in my space to see which worked best. Install was about 2 - 3 weeks from order. Scheduling install was very easy and they worked with my schedule. Joe, the installer, was fantastic! My flooring had a pattern on it but my walls are not straight. Joe made sure that the pattern was visually straight with the center of the hallway, rather than having it match the walls and look crooked. Joe was careful, thorough, and professional. He was very concerned with my happiness with the product and installation. The new flooring looks great and feels good under foot. I am very happy and would highly recommend!

My family has been using Independent Carpet One for close to 20 years. They’ve done everything from window testaments down to the floors and each project has turned out phenomenal.The most recent project was putting in a new laminate flooring throughout my entire house and the entire experience from start to finish was as positive an experience as one could hope. Their customer service is exemplary and they really make you feel like part of the family which you will never get at a big box store. I worked with Cathy who took the time to explain all the different styles of floors and to made sure that I got the right flooring for my house and lifestyle, she even came out to do the measurements herself. Will, who dropped off the materials, was also extremely friendly and great to work with. I happened to be visiting my mom while Will was dropping off a carpet for her and he recognized me and asked how the floors were coming along in my place. Again, you just feel like part of the family when working with them. Joe who did the install was simply the best. I can’t imagine anyone being more thorough and meticulous when installing the floors. There were parts of my subfloor that were uneven that were discovered after carpet and a wall came down and Joe came up with multiple solutions on the spot to keep the project going. In my experience many contractors might have said the job couldn’t be done or would have said nothing at all and carelessly continued on with the job. You can really tell Joe takes pride in work and does not cut corners. In the end the floors came out perfect and really makes it feel like a brand new home.If you’re looking for new carpets, floors, or rugs you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not going to Independent Carpet One and letting Cathy and Co. take care of you. I would highly recommend Cathy and her team at Carpet One Westland. This was my third time using Independent Carpet One. Why the multiple visits? They are fast. Whether they are carpeting the basement steps or three bedrooms and stairs, they are fast. In this last visit, there was a minor oversight. My salesman, Brian Elsner, was quick to address and resolve the issue. Brian spent a lot of time with me in choosing carpet and plank flooring. More time that I thought was needed initially, but there are so many choices. Its insane how many options are available in gray carpet. Im awaiting the arrival of my plank flooring and that will make four times that Ive used their services. I like to shop local and feel like a made a really good choice vs. using the outsourced services of one of the big box home improvement stores.

I guess they are too busy to follow up after I have made repeated calls to the company. I have spoke with the Owner (Carl) and the Owners Son as well as one of the tile installers (Brian). No one has given me the courtesy of a follow up. I really wish that I could give the company a better score as there is a history between my father and the owners father. Customer service really isnt anywhere close to the way things were even 20 years ago. Seems like no one really cares for anything anymore. Totally disgusted. The design service and excellent installation exceeded were spot on! Below is the basement carpet, what an upgrade. Also before and after pictures of the kitchen floor and basement stairs, which were a mess! Grey is the new off white is the old. I had to replace an 18 month floor and stairs because “I new a guy, who knew a guy”. That translates to bad job and no warranty. Don’t make that mistake, go with the Pros! Joe did a particularly impressive job on the kitchen luxury vinyl installation, he is truly a master and I thank him and Independent Carpet One!

I own a business in Westland MI and recently hired Independent Carpet One to re-carpet our sales offices. Cathy in sales is the absolute best with a wonderful personality. She assisted us in every aspect of planning. I will admit I picked a wild carpet tile. Wild just meaning very different. Once they were down I was not at all happy with the outcome/look it created, Although it was my selection. When Cathy wrote to ask if I was pleased I was just honest. While I didnt blame them at all, I didnt love it. To their credit, they stopped pretty much everything and asked what they could do to get it as best as possible. As promised they were out the very next morning with the install manager moving and replacing tiles to get it to a better place. While I still dont love what I picked, honestly it was a breath of fresh air to work with a company that still cares about their work and how their customers feel not only before the job but after. Sales and proposal process....GREAT. Professionalism, top notch. Install team, excellent. I wouldnt hesitate to not only use them again myself, but likewise confidently refer them to anyone needing flooring of any kind. A+++++++
