    My neighbor recommended AK Paving for my small driveway project. The project consisted of removing 3 layers of asphalt and repaving, add a Belgium block apron, and leveling a prefab concrete trench drain so vehicles can enter garage smoother. When the owner, Alex Lino surveyed the job, he suggested building up the cement walls of the trench as the original installer pitched the trench properly and addressed the ~3 step up when vehicles entered garage with anchored perforated platforms. Secondly, the driveway is both on a decline slope into garage but also on hill, so you are dealing with 2 angles if that makes sense. Lastly, vehicles entering or exiting top of driveway always bottomed out either the front of the air dam or rear undercarriage. Previous owners tried cutting away and repair with cold patch as seen in pic. What an eyesore. The projected started on time as scheduled and the team of 3, 4, or 5 people depending on phase of project were professional with various skillsets. I watched probably 95% of the project and learned a lot and their meticulous workmanship. It took 3.5 days to complete. Alex is very conscientious and extremely knowledgeable mentioning his 30 years of expertise is any complex stonework which he prefers, concrete, and asphalt paving. Whats also important about the company is the front office is staffed properly and any email communication has always been answered within 24 hours but typically within the same day. The proposal presented to me was very competitive and met scope. I highly recommend AK Paving for your project needs in vision, budgetary, and timeline requirements

    What did we do?We contracted AK Paving in April 2023 to repave our old driveway and install a double line of belgian blocks on each side.How did we chose AK Paving?Before starting we had obtained multiple quotes from different contractors and chose to work with Alex because of his great references and great online reviews. We wanted a quality job and, because we work in the city and would not always be present during the day, we wanted to work with someone we could trust.How did it go?Since the beginning Alex was responsive and explained us how things would work. He started on time, finished on time, and was available to come by when we had questions and to discuss progress/questions. AK Pavings craftsmanship is really amazing. Not only do they use top quality commercial grade materials, the crew is knowledgeable and professional, and they take the time to do things well, without shortcuts. Alex takes real pride in his work, and asked multiple times his crew to fix various things along the way which he really didnt have to: we would have been none the wiser. But he did so to make sure the final product was something he would be proud of.Final Words:Our driveway now is simply stunning!! We could not be happier. Most highly recommended.

    I just finished a driveway expansion project and a stone deck re-pointing with AK Paving, and I am extremely happy I went with them. The work crew were punctual, attentive to detail, and the finished product looks excellent.     Alex, his crew, and his office were incredibly professional and responsive during the entire duration of our project. We had our driveway repaved, the walkway to the front door replaced, and he also leveled and laid a gravel foundation for a shed in the backyard.     AK Paving demolished our existing concrete deck and replaced it with pavers. It was a big job and they did excellent work including installing new coping and new tile around our pool.     Alex and his team did a great job fixing our backyard stairs that was collapsing and fixing issues around the sump pump cover and piping. They delivered quality work, fast and leave the place as clean as it can be. I couldn’t be happier. We quote 4 different mason and we choose Alex after reading the reviews and meeting him.     We hired Alex to do a new patio with a landing, stairs, and 2 walls. He and his crew did an amazing job. The patio is gorgeous. They were there every day, and were very responsive and communicative, especially when delays arose due to needed inspections (not their fault). Alex also caught a flaw in our design and helped us create an even better one. They were very careful to minimize the damage done to our lawn, and they cleaned up so well that our outside looked better after they left than it did before they came. Highly recommend!

    AK Paving just completed a total renovation of my front pathway pavers and my front porch, to include the installation of some belgium block trim around a tree in my front yard.     Alex and his team made a front porch for me. They were extremely professional, reliable, honest, and Alex stands behind his work. At two different points, I asked for changes midway through the project and he pivoted and made those changes without hesitation or charging extra. There was one detail I noticed at the end of the project (the grout was not quite the color I had hoped for, though we had never discussed it). He offered to come, tear out the grout and re-grout the steps for free (which I probably wont take him up on), but was very impressed with his honesty and readiness to stand behind his work.

    Over the last 5 years I have had Alex and his crew undertake a few different jobs involving interlocking pavers, concrete work, steps, and landscaping. He has always done beautiful work. They had to repair, stucco and paint the support walls and they selected and placed the topping beautifully. The prices we were given were very fair, and all work was done cleanly and within the time frame promised. I highly recommend AK Paving, without hesitation. In fact, we are presently in negotiations for more work by this company on an extension to our house!

    Alex and his crew built a large stone retaining wall for us. It was a huge and challenging project, and they did a great job. Alex is easy to work with and always fair-minded. Hes very detail-oriented and clearly cares about the work. Could not recommend him more highly.

Very professional - excellent communication, dependable, and detail oriented. Our driveway was a big job as we completely removed the old driveway and not only replaced it, but added a new Belgium block border and apron.     AK Paving put in my walkway several years ago and we now just had them come back and build a beautiful wall. Very happy with their work. They start the work on time. The workers were very professional. They consulted with us to find the colors to best match the walkway and enhance the overall appearance of the house. The project came out better than I could have even hoped for. The price was also reasonable. Will be calling them next year to redo the driveway.

    Update-just used AK Paving to seal our driveway, update a retaining wall from railroad ties to stone and change a bluestone walkway to pavers. Once again, Alex completed the job way ahead of schedule, was reasonably priced, easy to work with and had a great crew working for him. Highly recommend!Used AK Paving to extend/rebuild current steps for a new patio door as well as to rebrick a part of our house. Alex was so easy to work with-easily accessible, came when he said he would and had very fair pricing. I would definitely recommend and plan to use him again in the spring for our walkway.
