We are a 20-unit condominium community so it was a big job with several cedar siding buildings. Built in 1966, the cedar was original and has aged but after power washing and staining/sealing, it looks so clean and refreshed. The crew was friendly and helpful, hard workers and very knowledgeable. Romero, Jerry and Matt K. were super to work with. Great experience with M. Carlson Painting.

We had a wonderful experience with M. Carlson on our exterior. They prepped, repaired some foundation issues, and did a beautiful job with the paint. Excellent, crisp clean lines, great coverage. Even worked with me to find a paint that works for the deeper color we choose. Our Project Manager Matt and his team Fernando and Allen were all fantastic. I have a lot of plants around parts of the house, which added another level of care, for which they also did great with. With all the rainy weather weve had recently, scheduling had to understandably be pushed a bit, but the team went above and beyond and did some of the work on a Saturday. Pictures dont even do it justice (we didnt have them paint the red door as it is soon to be replaced). I highly recommend M. Carlson Painting.

A 2024 update - We have now used M. Carlson Painting a second time - and once again they did not disappoint. We had the mud room, powder room, and downstairs ceilings and walls painted and - start to finish - the experience was timely, high quality and exceeded our expectations. One special service they provided was a free color consultation who came to our house and this really helped me with color selection of a downstairs with lots of wood. Then, Mike painted and did an incredible job in just three days. He was excellent at his craft. I highly recommend.2022 review - I cannot share enough what a positive experience we had. Every step of the way, we were provided information and updates. And Igor our painter - because it was kitchen cabinets, his attention to detail, his beautiful work really spoke to how much pride he takes in his craft. HIGHLY recommend.

We were so impressed with how our cabinets turned out two years ago that we reached out to Woody for an exterior deck staining job summer of 2024. Once again, the crew was fantastic. They were courteous, meticulous, and professional. The crew had to power wash before staining which of course creates a bit of a mess. But the crew cleaned everything when they were done- even windows! What a great surprise!Woody, Gabriel, and crew just finished painting our kitchen cabinets and they were fabulous. Every member of the team we interacted with has been responsive, professional, hard- working, kind, and just around outstanding. The cabinets turned out beautifully. I will 100% recommend them to friends and family.

I cannot say enough good things about Kristen, Max and Adam. They were professional, kind, and so great to work with. Max was amazing at installing wallpaper in our powder room, playroom and nursery. He really took his time to make sure our not so easy wallpaper came out perfect. From prep to finish, he absolutely nailed it. Kristen provided excellent communication from start to finish and was such a breath of fresh air to work with. I am so happy we chose to work with them and will really miss having them working on the projects in our home.They really brought our house to life and we are just so grateful! We had the full exterior of our house painted and could not be more pleased with both the quality of the work and the efficiency/ease of working with the M.Carlson Painting team. Contracts were electronic and could be adapted to add change orders, so there were no misunderstandings. Luis was a great crew leader and Matt K. was knowledgeable and easy to work with. Lots of good ideas and input. Even after we were satisfied with the project, the team insisted on doing further touch ups on areas they thought could be improved. M.Carlson will be the only painter we use in the future - both interior and exterior jobs/big and small.

The M.Carlson team painted our house last week, and we love the work they did! This was a color change and included painting the siding, exterior window frames, soffits and gutters, and some brick foundation with three different colors. They masked everything to avoid overspray issues and spent time touching up minor things when finished. They also did this outdoor work during one of the hottest and humid weeks of the summer. The guys in the crew were extremely friendly and accommodating to our questions and requests. My wife and I are so pleased with our new house LOL! We highly recommend these folks for your house painting project. And the price was reasonable as well.

We had an extremely positive experience with M. Carlson painting. After I submitted a request for painting service, someone from the office responded almost immediately. The team was very helpful in identifying our needs and coming up with a painting plan. They sent a paint consultant who spent almost an hour at our house helping us choose the right colors.The painters did a phenomenal job, working quickly but also paying attention to every detail such as plastering and sanding rough spots to get the right texture and not spilling paint on any of our trim or cabinets. The final result was perfect. We highly recommend M. Carlson painting!

Matt’s team did an excellent job! 6 years after building our home we needed some repairs and a fresh coat of paint due to nail pops and the shifting of our home. Our home is an open concept and I knew we would have to paint the majority of the main level. I want to tweak the colors a bit but did not want the new colors to conflict with the original. Matt sent a colorist to help relieve the anxiety. His team was excellent, they took care to cover my belongings in order to protect them and what I loved most was they truly were perfectionists. The repairs were perfect! My husband and I are very happy and would hire them in the future and will recommend them to others.

Im a repeat customer with M. Carlson Painting and hired them to remove popcorn from my master bedroom ceiling and paint it. Kyle came out within a few days to do an estimate. They scheduled right away. Ryan was there on start day and handled the project from there on. Ryan did an excellent job handling the project and Elijah did an excellent job removing the popcorn, patching some areas that needed it, and then painting. One day 80s popcorn, a few days later, smooth and white. Overall Im extremely pleased with M. Carlson and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Our feeling about MCarlson for a recent total interior paint project (six rooms including a stairwell). They were fabulous all the way from the opening sales presentation until the final cleanup. They answered many questions that we had during the initial contact and continually throughout the project. Unfortunately, we had made a poor color selection for one of the rooms but not to worry as MCarlson did a repaint at a lesser than originally quoted price but that also was because there was no patchwork/prepwork needed for the repaint. They select good suppliers for the paints and used good equipment throughout the project. They also were very diligent in tarping. The painters are a sublet from MCarlson and they themselves did a wonderful job. We like the sublet approach because the accountability is outstanding as MCarlson stands behind everything. Long and short of it, end of the day we strongly recommend MCarlson as we could not be happier with the final project results. A+, 100%, kudos to MCarlson and particularly to Kyle the sales and product manager. Job well done!!!! Plus included is their standard superb warranty at no additional cost. 👍😃😃

We hired Winnie to whitewash our fireplace, and we could not be happier with the outcome! We were stuck between two paint colors for our walls, and she helped us pick the color and tinted the wash for the fireplace to pick up on warm and grey tones from the new wall color. She took her time applying the wash and deciding how much to remove from which stones to give it that unique look. They covered every inch of my wood and slate floors with paper to protect them also. They painted the entire first floor with vaulted ceilings and two story high walls. They repaired two cracks and holes in my ceiling. They went above and beyond to repair these cracks to make them look flawless. They also spray painted the ceilings on the main and second floor. When they were finished, they cleaned up well and took the time to put back any furniture that they needed to move to do the job. Ion came out at did a great job patching our drywall after some electrical work we had done. He was efficient and even primed the patches for us even though we elected to do the painting ourselves. There was minor patching and trim repair work involved as well. The scheduling was a bit of a hassle with some lack of communication and then a couple days before the work was to be done we found out that the wallpaper gal we scheduled with was no longer available and we werent informed. Thankfully, M.Carlson was able to still able to get the wallpaper done (ahead of schedule actually) and everything turned out great. Its expensive, but they really do top notch work.

Michael was prompt and wow, in 2 days, I cant believe how much he was able to do and the quality that he brought to the job which included wall paper removal from a small bathroom (wallpaper was original to home...1955), scraping, patching, priming and two coats. Plus the sanding, fixing, restraining of our cabinets. Then completely repainting our dining room (2 coats). It turned out great. Thank you very much.

Winnie was delightful to work with! We were looking for someone to do lime wash in our main bedroom on walls, ceiling and doors & it took me a couple of weeks to find anyone with limewash experience in the twin cities. She’s still the only person I connected with who does. It turned out exactly like my inspo pics, honestly even more dreamy than I had imagined. She ended up doing a custom green color for me with the perfect amount of white and texture. I will be hiring her when I’m ready to do more walls in my home. She is an incredible artist, efficient and committed to making her clients happy.

Jack, Hayden and the rest of the team are wonderful. I have a 3 toned custom deck with a great deal of nooks and crannies, lots of 2x2s and built in flower boxes all requiring a very steady hand and detailed painting. The team did very good work. They are always accomodating when new things came up like running into a loose board on deck and replacing it. I added last thought paint projects and they got them done in addition to original job hired for. Very professional and pleasant. Definitely hard working. I found pricing to be very reasonable. Despite living in Minnesota less than two years, this was a considerably tough job because we wanted everything to look brand new / in tip top shape. Just a few of the challenges we presented the good folks at M. Carlson Painting included full door stripping and painting, wall repair, cabinet painting and many other jobs not deemed normal. To quote our real estate agent, ...they did a very very very good job and the place looks spectacular.... We could not be more pleased with the work this company has done. So incredibly happy that I stumbled upon this company. The prior quotes we received from other companies werent too bad, but their communication after was incredibly poor. A buddy of mine told me to call M. Carlson. Upon doing so I had the good fortune of chatting with Dave - one the project managers. This guy is disgustingly polite - honestly not sure there is a kinder soul on the planet. Anyway, after talking to him for a few minutes I truly didnt care where the bid landed as I knew he and M. Carlson were the proper fit for us (please note that the bid was very competitive which was a bonus). Dave walked us through the process and told us exactly what to expect. Francisco and his crew (the folks that did the painting) showed up on time and prepped the space incredibly well and got to work. The whole process was so smooth and Dave made sure to follow up shortly after completion to ensure we were fully satisfied. They did miss one tiny spot on our stairway wall, but you would never see it unless you were looking for it - either way, couldnt be happier with the final result. Looking forward to chatting with them soon to discuss painting our kitchen cabinets and redoing our kitchen floors!

We were unavailable when the project started so Kyle FaceTimed us to help us select final exterior color, which helped eased our anxiety on final color selection. Kyle sent us pictures as the project progressed, which we really appreciated. The results exceeded our expectation. Very professional in all our dealings and the quality of the work was outstanding. The painter was very thorough in protecting areas while the painting was going on. They kept me advised so I could move furniture as the painting proceeded through several rooms in the house. The painting of the kitchen cabinets (originally stained oak converted to white and beige) really transformed the kitchen. I have hired them to do some exterior painting this summer as well. I first hired Matt for a job to re-paint the entire interior of my home about years ago when I was doing a significant remodel. Matt not only did a fantastic job on the painting, but gave me some very valuable advice about the remodel generally. I then hired him again a few years later to do the exterior. Again, he gave me some really good advice which actually saved me a ton of money (at his expense), and again he did the work quickly and professionally. Not only does Matt do high quality work at reasonable prices, but he provides honest, helpful feedback on all aspects of your project.***Update - hired Matt for a 3rd time recently - HUGE job. He was the only contractor on the entire project I was happy with.

We hired M. Carlson Painting to limewash our dated 1970s brick fireplace and were completely floored by the results!! Winnie did a fabulous job bringing life back into this space for us. Her attention to detail and artist’s eye for the design absolutely brought this project together. We’ve seen so many fireplace re-dos that felt fake - but the soft feel of the limewash and the way it absorbs into the brick makes it feel authentic. We’ve gotten so many compliments on this space!Outside of technically delivering a great result, Winnie was super friendly, quick to communicate, and easy to work with. Having her around the house for a few days (while I was working from home) was no problem at all!
