This is the very first review I have ever written but I want to share my experience with SanMar with anyone who is thinking of hiring them. I called Mark (the CEO of SanMar) with the intention of motivating myself by finding out how much money I was saving by doing the digging for my new patio and sidewalks myself.But I digress. Let me backup a little and tell yall the whole story.We purchased a house in Mount Vernon, Illinois with the intentions to gut it and remodel it while living in it. About two thirds of the way through the major project my wife was offered her dream job in Georgia and the race was on to get the house done and on the market. One of the three major tasks remaining was to pour a large patio and sidewalks spanning the backyard. I had demolished a huge backporch that was attached and there were footings in the ground running down three feet and spanning a total of 70 feet. My plan was to pour over the top of the footings but due to elevation and drainage concerns the best course of action was to remove the footings. Enter Mark and SanMar as I called to get an estimate to talk myself into digging the footings up by hand.Mark is the nicest guy you will ever meet. He immediately came to my home and I explained what needed to be done. Mark assured me that while it seemed a daunting task, the excavating was not a problem at all. Mark quoted me a VERY reasonable price and a week of backbreaking shovel work quickly became a day of watching the SanMar crew do their magic.From start to finish Mark was a complete professional and his work was impeccable. Mark thought of concerns I had not even considered and offered viable solutions every time. Mark dug my footings up, broke them up into manageable pieces and loaded them with his excavator and hauled them away. SanMar went to great lengths to insure no peripheral damage occurred during the demolition and that the site was disturbed as little as possible. I cannot say enough about the professionalism Mark and his people showed on my site. Mark went well above and beyond the scope of his responsibility to me and made sure I had as little physical labor left to do as was possible. At the end of the day, Mark charged me LESS than his estimate and I gave him a nice tip for all his extra efforts to make certain I was well taken care of.Ultimately, Mark and SanMar saved me a ton of work and charged me an EXTREMELY Reasonable price. I would and will recommend SanMar to anyone and everyone who will listen. This company is the real deal folks. Do yourself a favor and let them save you some work and some money!
