We built our home in Alaska with Sumner company this year in the middle of the pandemic. As a local realtor I was working with many other clients building with other builders around the same time. Our experience with Sumner far exceeded the experience that many of my other clients had. We appreciate everything that Max and his team did for us as they made our custom home come to life. Building is challenging in general- not to mention in the middle of a pandemic where delays and material shortages ran high. We would build with Sumner again for sure. Highly recommend Max and Sumner for your building your dream home! -

Sumner Company wasnt our first choice, but I am glad we went with them. We have had several friends buy homes from different builders after we bought ours, and I will just say that the shortcuts made by some other builders is evident. We are extremely happy with our home and quality products that were used in its construction and highly recommend them for anyone considering a new home in the Mat-su Valley.. -

Sumner Company builds a great home, and you wont be unsatisfied with the quality and solidity of their structures. The only downsides I had with my home after it was finished was the painters didnt properly caulk around the trim and baseboards, so it started to peel away after about a year, but that is easy to mention to the contractors while the work is being done. If your house is being built in an open area, then it might be worth the money to have Sumner Company have the insulators spray-foam insulate the walls to seal the house better from the wind, that way there is less heat loss in the rooms that are hit the most by the wind. And if building a two story house, have a two or three zone heating system installed to keep the house temperature even throughout. This can greatly save heating costs in the long run if rooms facing heavy wind have their own heat source. -

After a couple years of going back and forth on whether to build or not we decided to take the plunge with Sumner.It wasn’t a easy year to build with supplies being in short demand and labor hard to find with the pandemic.But, Sumner pulled it off with grace and professionalism! We truly feel that we went with the best builder in the valley. A builder who puts quality first. We not only got all of our “must haves”,but just about all of our “wish list” items too. There’s not one thing I’d change about my home.Thank you Sumner! -

Its hard to say what the best part about working with Sumner Company Homes was, but I would have to say overall it was their quality of work. They dont cut corners. The do a high quality job the first time, and stand behind their work as well. If I had any concerns after we closed, I gave them a call and they come back to just do little touch up things here and there. These guys are excellent. -

I was referred to Sumner for septic work and am so thankful for that referral. I have always loved their homes and am glad to know I can call them for smaller jobs as well. The septic system was no small job though, it was winter, the most snow we had gotten at one time in years, and there were complications with the system. They knocked it out quickly and as affordably as possible. Great communication with me and my clients. Their work got the clients home to close on time and we are grateful to Max and his team for that. Thank you! -
