    I began working with David Katz on my pool project this spring. From our first meeting, I was excited about my new pool. David is very creative, but he also listened to what I wanted. His concept took into consideration my house and my yard. I wanted something natural - like it had always been there. The end product was a pool and landscaping that exceeded my expectations.There were some challenges along the way. David was very engaged - responding to texts and emails promptly. He assured me that my project would get done and I would be satisfied. That couldnt be more true. I have been so pleased with my experience that I will do another project with Land of Elite in the spring!I would like to recognize Julio and his co-worker who worked on the patio.     After meeting with several contractors about installing a pool in my backyard, it’s clear that Land of Elite is in a class by itself. My initial call with the incredibly helpful Amanda filled me with enthusiasm for my upcoming consultation with David. And upon meeting with David and his assistant, Joe, I realized how fortunate I was to be guided by someone so knowledgeable and gifted. The word visionary comes to mind. It is inspiring and magical to see my property through David’s eyes, and they are just terrific guys to work with. No matter the scope or size of your project, if you love your home and property, you want to hire someone who treats it like it’s paradise!

    My family met with David for a consultation on a potential backyard makeover project (gunite pool, spa, outdoor kitchen, firepit). While we have been talking to several companies about our project, David and Land of Elite immediately stood out from the rest. David took the time to understand exactly what we want and how we want to use our yard. After getting a thorough understanding of our project / desires, David immediately began discussing the potential of our property.We have a slope in our yard that other firms have found challenging, but David approached the potential issue as an opportunity to create a unique space consisting of multiple levels. By the time we finished our consultation, David had actually drawn up a potential vision of what we could do with our property.Davids ideas were unique, exciting, different from any others we have received and most importantly more than we could have envisioned being capable with our yard. Not only did David have ideas about the specific project, but he had a vision of other things that could be done with our yard to create a true dream backyard.We were very excited about the ideas David was able to come up with in a 2 hour consultation.     My husband and I had a very unfinished space between our back deck and our pool deck. While we had some ideas, we were never quite sure what exactly would work well in this unusable area of our yard. We spoke with some local contractors and quickly realized that we would ultimately be the ones designing the space. My husband and I wondered if there was a company out there that would give us their input and their ideas because we wanted it to be perfect! I researched companies online that would potentially help with our design and came across ELITE Landscaping. The projects posted on their website are magnificent! The main draw for us was the design component. We contacted ELITE and, after a brief conversation with Deborah, was assured that we had found exactly what we were looking for! We made a consult appointment. David came to meet us the following week. He asked us what our ideas/visions were for the space. He listened intently and came up with a plan that completely blew us away! His design was completely unexpected and exactly what we wanted! It was amazing to see the design transform from thought to paper to the actual completion of the project. The work crew was professional, polite, extremely neat, hard working and very talented.     I am very happy with the work done by David and his crew. We have a lakefront property, where they built us lovely and functional stone steps in to the water, a boat launch area for our kayaks, and a rack to store our boats. The work was done on time and to the highest standards. David also had excellent, creative ideas for other ways to improve our property. Highly recommended!

    Elite Landscaping did an exceptional job in turning our mediocre yard into a magnificent resort. They are patient, creative, talented, considerate, and professional. Every challenge was embraced with a creative solution. They are exceptional and we had many demands as our expectations were very high. They were also able to navigate the many requirements of Scarsdale with a grace and professionalism. This was impressive as this was the first time they worked in Scarsdale. They delivered!     If I were given just one word to describe my experience with Elite Landscaping, it would be trust. I knew from my first call with Lynn, who patiently listened to my request for a highly personalized experience regarding optimization of our current outdoor landscape lighting, that working with Elite was going to be about all about us, the customer. My first meeting with David solidified my gut reaction as he listened intently to our situation, and continued to provide 2 recommendations. 1) How to fix it correctly and 2) How to approach a less costly interim solution which may be enough for us to find love for our backyard again. Low and behold, the lesser costly solution has transformed our back yard again to a space we love. He was the first vendor we worked with in years that actually listened to how we would define success of the project, and used that the metric that we both used for project completion.In conversations with David regarding a new house we are building, he immediately asked to be involved in the project even though we had yet broke ground. David is a visionary. He came to the lot, spray painted out where the house should be for optimal sun, and back yard entertaining (not where the surveyor had plopped it in the middle of the lot!). He was conscious of trying to save mature trees and spent several hours there with us mulling over how to create a driveway entrance with character. I didn’t ask for any of this. David is a forward thinker. He is already envisioning the exact layout of our new backyard and challenging us to think outside of the box, which has led to what is going to be an amazing little piece of paradise. Once again proving, his involvement is based on doing a project the right way, not doing it to check the box and cash a check. There is pride in every suggestion he provides.As for timeliness, responsiveness and general caring, I haven’t worked with a company like this in my entire life. Being in the service business myself, I’m a tuff nut please. Trust me, you simply can’t go wrong with Elite!

    I first met David Katz, the owner of Elite Landscaping more than 25 years ago having seen work he did for a friend of mine. I had just purchased a new home in Purchase, NY and wanted the entire front of my property re-done in a very contemporary fashion. With minimal guidance from me David developed a landscape plan that was beyond anything I had hoped for in design and yet responsibly priced.Several years later I sold that home and bought into a townhouse with a 700 sq. ft. private garden that looked like a graveyard featuring large trees surrounded by ivy. A brief conversation with David about my expectations resulted in a plan that was once again beyond anything I had hoped for; a waterfall, a stone bridge, bamboo, grasses--a secret wooded paradise in the heart of Murray Hill.If your needs direct you to a need for the highest level of landscaping creativity you can do no better than contacting David at Elite Landscaping.     We had a very difficult project that required redoing a retaining wall that was putting pressure on our deck and pool which were all about 20 years old. What made this project complicated was that the wall was behind the pool and Elite had to work in a way that would not damage the pool. Elite did top notch job on coming up with a workable solution, implementing the solution and getting it all done on time! Elite has a great eye for design and we would happily use them again.

    The ELITE Landscaping team installed a spa (hot hub) complete with landscaping three years ago and the project was more than we could have imagined. The design, execution and management of the project was top notch. I continue to use ELITE to service the spa and ensure it runs properly.     ELITE took on a partial renovation project of a second home in Ulster County, far from my regular home. Before contracting ELITE, I had been renovating an old victorian cottage piecemeal with laborers who I could not monitor, and the work never went as planned and ended up costing more than expected to make it right. When it came time to install all new windows, I hired ELITE (who Id become familiar with through a landscape design project). They were professional, quick and excellent communicators. The work was done to a high standard and I felt comfortable with David, Mitch, Wes and their team handling the work in my second home without me being around. The quote was not the lowest I received, but I suspect that it was the most honest and, given my experiences prior to contracting ELITE and considering the quality of work that ELITE delivered, Im comfortable that it was the best value I couldve gotten. As a construction manager in Brooklyn, Ive learned to recognize when Im out of my depth and to call in better professionals. If I cant be there myself, I want people of ELITEs caliber on site.

    My wife and I have used Elite for every landscaping project weve done in the last 15 years. The designs drawn up by David Katz are outstanding, always delivering what weve asked for and adding extra touches as well. The quality of their work is also top-notch.Unlike many contractors in todays world, the Elite team is very responsive. Last year we had a drainage problem and heavy rains caused water to leak into our basement. We called Elite right away and described the situation, and before the next heavy rain a few days later, everything was fixed.We can’t say enough good things about Elite.     ELITE Landscaping is a family-owned landscape and pool design-builder unlike any company I have ever worked with. David Katz and his son Mitch are wonderful people and incredible at what they do. They have an eye for design, a focus on quality, and a passion for the details. They deliver a complete solution (permits, pool, patios, masonry, fencing, landscaping, lighting, monitoring, etc.) and manage every aspect from start to finish.I found ELITE through the Northeast Pool and Spa Association as I wanted a award-winning team to design and build an infinity pool for our Bedford, NY home. The finished product, surpassed my lofty expectations and is nothing short of a masterpiece. David designed a multi-level infinity pool carved between to massive pieces of bedrock, creating a free-form design that married the natural landscape with key architectural elements from our home.From our first meeting in December 2013, I knew ELITE offered something special. Id interviewed more than a half a dozen landscape architects and high-end pool builders and the difference is noticeable. ELITE focuses not only on aesthetics and build quality, but on function - how the pool, poolscape, and surrounding property will be used and enjoyed. My wife and I both shared our views and from that David sketched out his vision on the spot. That sketch became the framework for the plan to come, each aspect carefully thought out.I received ELITEs proposal shortly thereafter with every aspect of the project meticulously laid out (27 pages in all!). There was complete transparency and ever detail of the project carefully explained. In the coming months, I was never once asked for a change order or for more money than what was agreed.As promised up front, we broke ground in March 2014 and were swimming by the July 4th weekend. His team worked 6 days a week, on holidays, and in the rain much of the time to make that happen. From the excavation to the finishing landscaping David and Mitch were there personally. While their whole team is outstanding, there is no bait and switch with ELITE. David was there for the 8 straight days as they carefully chipped rock during the excavation and from 6am to 10pm at night the day they shot the gunite. He personally laid out all 500+ plants for the landscaping. It would not be odd to see David or Mitch out at the pool site checking ever aspect of the work late at night, early in the morning, or on the weekend. And if I ever had any questions, David was available basically 24/7. I cant even count the number of times we spoke (or met) on a Sunday or at 9pm at night. This is something he gladly does as making his customers happy and delivering what the customer wants is paramount to the ELITE culture.In sum, Ill paraphrase one of Davids other clients I spoke with in the numerous reference checks I did before hiring them, ELITE Landscaping is the best company Ive ever worked with. Whether around my home or in my work life, no one else comes close.

    When I needed to get a pool inspection in order to complete a home purchase in the month of December, I found myself with the few options. Mitch, of elite landscaping, proved himself to be someone who not only wants to make his customers happy, but someone who wants to represent his industry as one that contains people of the highest caliber.Even though my purchase was quite some distance away from him, he spent time on the phone and via email answering my questions and providing any possible referrals. When none of them worked out, he graciously offered to do the inspection himself.     About a year ago, my wife and I bought a house in Putnam Valley which came with a pond in a small yard area, which had been designed and installed by the former owner. Unfortunately, some critical aspects of the pond’s infrastructure—the electrical hook-up, pump, filter, stone-work, waterfall and piping—had been either poorly designed or had fallen into disrepair. After being told by one pond company that our only option was to tear out the entire pond and rebuild it at a cost of thousands of dollars, we were fortunate to find Mitch Katz, of Elite Landscaping, who took the time to understand our perspective and was willing to work with us to deal with an array of problems that cropped up over a period of months. I cannot overstate my gratitude for Mitch’s professionalism and his ability to listen, as well as his skill, expertise, and creative problem-solving ability.     We recently moved into our home and we wanted to eliminate steps to the front porch as well as redo the driveway. Having no idea how to do away with steps and still have front entrance accesible we reached out to Land of Elite. David Katz came to our home and came up with a plan that I never would have come up with on my own. He envisioned a circular driveway that would come up to a new walkway to the front steps and also repalce the current steps. The driveway would then lead down to the garage where there would be a large apron. In the middle of the circle he envisoned a grass area with a flagpole in the middle. We had wanted additional lighting and David proposed some walkway lights and a large light post at the entrance to the driveway. My wife and I were blown away by the design idea and even more so by the finished product. The many workers who were here at various times were all personable and professional. David came by several times to see where the progress was. I highly recommend The Land of Elite, both for its conceptual ideas and quality of work performed. Oh yes, we previously had nine steps leading to front door, we now have two.

    After several estimates and designs for our dream outdoor kitchen/fire pit, David from Land of Elite was the only one with a true vision of what we were looking for. David spent the time with us in person and behind the scenes to come up with an absolutely stunning design. Even when a there was a bump in the road (happens with every project) David was able to come up with a solution and made it look even better. As for the crew. What an unbelievable job they did. Everyday they were on time and braved the cold weather to complete our oasis. In the end we could not be happier with the way our backyard has turned out.     From the first phone call with David, we knew this was the place was the one. David came over and did a complete assessment of our yard and helped us see our yards potential. Being first time home-owners, we had many questions and concerns and dreams! The team was always quick to reply to our emails and helped us to solidify what our first step should be. We received a formal proposal which outlined all of our costs and the projected start times. The project was able to be started way before I thought it would be! Once the project began, David met his crew at our house everyday. They took pictures of each step and had constant communication. We were even given a link to the pictures so that we could see what had been done while we were at work. The crew was prompt, everyday. At the end of each day, all of the materials were packed up and put away. The yard always looked neat, despite the ongoing construction. This team goes above and beyond. I watched one of their workers pick up a single rock and move it to a better placement. They were accommodating to our schedule and other work we were having done. Once our patio was built, the service didnt stop there. They completely restored our yard. The put top soil and seed in the areas that were even slightly dug up. They cleaned and dried the patio, placed the furniture in an appealing arrangement. David and Wes came back for the final inspection. They gave me some great tips to move forward on my own in the yard and we talked about future projects to enhance our space. I can say that I have been spoiled by this crew. I plan to use this company for all future projects! They really have exceeded my expectations!

    I cant say enough about the professionalism of Elite Landscaping. I recently built a home in Yorktown Heights and the builder left a steep slope at the end of my driveway. My wife was so upset because we have two young children and the dog. She didnt even want to close on the home. The builder was initially unhelpful and my wife fortunately reached out to David. David reviewed the situation and the site plan. He recognized the slope was not disclosed on the site plan. Further, he spoke with the builder and expressed his concerns as an engineer and came up with a solution to level the slope and provide better access to the backyard with stone steps. During the process he took careful notes of all conversations with the builder to ensure that builder stood by his word.His solution solved all our problems and he even persuaded the builder provide the labor and machinery. David saved me over 10K. During our building process we had the opportunity to interact with many different craftsman. David was by far the most professional and skilled. We hope to be able to use his team in the future.

    I met David Katz when I was interviewing landscape architects for a pool and spa I wanted to build on a property Id recently acquired in the Hudson Valley. Im a business person myself and very careful when choosing who I work with. Accordingly, I interviewed 5 different architects before choosing to go with Elite.Everyone I met with was talented, but David Katz was on a different level. Whereas others would walk the property and talk about what they thought, after Id walked the property with David and we had talked, he started drawing. Within 15 minutes, I had a full rendition of what was clearly right for the property.If there were one theme to my relationship with Elite, it would be this--execution. The other architects talked vaguely of being able to get the pool done in 15 months or so. I told David I wanted to be swimming in thee months. He said I was crazy. I asked him if he could get it done. He said yes. Three months later, on the 4th of July weekend, my family was swimming.Thats whats truly special about David and the Elite team--they can get the job done, on time, and on budget. Moreover, while I was forced to manage my house contractors daily, I didnt have to even think about Elite. They transformed our property in exactly the right way, and I didnt have to manage a thing. That has rarely happened to me before, and it was fantastic.Shortly after the completion of the pool and spa, I engaged Elite on another large scale project on the property. Just like the pool and spa, it was also done perfectly and perfectly on time and on budget. Elite (and in particularly, Mitch, Davids son) continues to service our property and I suspect well build something great again in the future. I cant recommend the Elite team highly enough. If you want to do something great, they are your team.
