    50 North Roofing did an outstanding job replacing my failing screw down/exposed fastener metal roof with a far superior double-lock standing seam metal roof. I bought my house 5 yrs. ago and was pleased to see that it had a metal roof, but I was unaware that metal roofs were not all created equal in quality. I found that out when the roof began to leak.I logged onto the internet and saw the 50NorthRoofing.com website and was impressed with the multitude of 5 star reviews and the fact that they had been roofing for over two decades. When the owner, Luis, came to do the estimate, I found him to be very knowledgeable and articulate. Afterward, he sent me a reasonably priced written quote and communicated with me in a timely, top-notch manner.When work began, his crew was on time, courteous and they cleaned up roofing debris on a daily basis. The carpenters replacing any rotting roof sheathing and the men laying down the new double-lock standing seam metal panels displayed a high level of workmanship. Even the metal manufacturers sales rep that stopped by commented on how exacting they were in covering the section over my bay window.The crew, also, put on new 6 seamless gutters with gutter guards. Luis kept a check on the crews progress and displayed integrity in carrying out the details of the project.Now when I pull into my driveway, I cant help but pause occasionally to admire my new galvalume standing seam roof.     My new construction roof at Wrightsville Beach had leaks for 3 weeks before Luis visited. He answered the phone and showed up the very next morning.The builderā€™s roofer was not able to identify the leaks and eventually stopped answering.Luis found the cause of the leaks and gave excellent advice.     I am a second generation roofer and have worked with many different roofers over the years, some good and some that shouldnt even be roofing. Luis is a dedicated Craftsman who does some of the highest quality and best looking work that I have ever seen. His commitment to quality and waterproofing are second to none.     Called during TS Debby because we had a small leak. Guys came out within an hour! Couldnā€™t believe it. Such prompt and professional service. Patched it that day and then came back a couple weeks later and completed the full repair. Would highly recommend them.

    Luis and his team of professionals recently replaced the roof on our home and detached studio in Carrboro, NC. The main house roof is a combination of intersecting gables, valleys and flat sections meaning it requires a team that knows what they are doing (flat roofing systems are also not very common in residential application in our area, not everyone that says they can do it really means it). Luis and his team had to figure out the best way to create positive slope and drainage on the flat sections using tapered insulation and TPO as the new surface material. They have done an amazing job, have created a functional system up there that drains water as it should have all along, and were thoughtful and intentional in their execution every step of the way. They also went above and beyond in the replacing the old flashing on the main chimney. They first installed stepped flashing but decided it needed another layer over the top to cover up the damage exposed / created from the previous work and repairs done over the years. They could have just left it and saved some time, but they did what they felt was right and quality rather than what was quick and easy.My better half and I own a real estate brokerage firm in Carrboro that serves The Triangle region of NC. We have worked with a lot of roofers and other contractors in our time. Any vendor recommendations we give out to clients or friends are earned with honesty and integrity. I highly recommend Luis and 50 North Roofing Co to clients and friends if they are considering roof repair or replacement for metal, flat or shingle roofing systems.     Luis was recommended to me by my realtor for a replacement roof. When I called he answered right away and showed up the next day to look at it. His price was fair compared to the other companies. He made the process easy for me. When they came to replace the roof his guys were great. Everyone was incredibly nice and did a fantastic job. Along with the roof they replaced the fascia on the front of my house because it was peeling and looked awful. They cleaned up everything thoroughly, locked my gate back so my dogs didnā€™t escape and even brought a toy down my kids threw up there and put it in my front porch.     From the first contact with Luis, I knew we were in competent hands. I called on Saturday to get an estimate on roof and siding repairs due to wind damage from a previous storm. The work was completed the following Monday! Luis from start to finish had great communication. A quote was given and explained and very realistic reasonable pricing was agreed upon and the invoice matched the estimate given. His team showed up Monday morning and finished the repairs with great skill the same day. They went above and beyond to ensure that the work was done right with complete and 100 percent satisfaction.     Worked with Luis Hernandez. He was out to inspect the house the same day I called, I gave him the down payment for the order he said it was too late to get the materials that day so he ordered them that afternoon, they arrived the next day afternoon and the following day after his crew arrived and replaced the roof in one day, good job of clean up and charged exactly what was quoted even offered to leave some of the extra shingles if I wanted them. Fantastic person to work with, excellent work.

    I called 50 North Roofing as I had a leak in my home. Luis returned my call within minutes. He offered to come to my home that day and examine the problem. He arrived on time, and after inspecting my roof, he determined that the leak was most likely plumbing related and not from a leaky roof. He examined the bathroom fixtures and recommended a plumber that might be able to help me.He could have very easily told me that I needed a new roof or charged me for a service that I dont necessarily need now, but he did not.Luis was honest, reliable and knowledgeable about my issue.     The crew just completed a metal roof project on a 120 year old house in Burgaw. The work was exceptional. A lot of repairs were needed to the roof and they guys did a great job. After completion you could not see any signs that they were there because the site was spotless. The cost for the project was also the best I saw in the area.     Our roof needed replaced We had called several roofing companies and got no response from most of them, and the ones we did get a response from were very unprofessional. We called 50 North Roofing Company and got in touch with Luis Hernandez. His response was very quick. Luis came out and looked at our roof and pointed out some problem areas. He gave us an estimate on a total roof replacement which was very reasonable. His guys showed up they did what Luis and I talked about. they did an excellent job and were very thorough. they cleaned up COMPLETEY. The work was excellent, the roof looked beautiful. We have no leaks now. Luis came out to double check the work that was done, and to make sure we were happy with the job. I cant say enough about this company. Very good company to do business with. they do what they say they are going to do. And Luis and his crew were very professional. And was a pleasure to do business with.     We hired 50 North Roofing (Luis Hernandez) for 2 roofing projects and he and his crew did wonderful work!! Luis was referred to us by a very good friend and he immediately came out to address the recent hurricane damage at both my motherā€™s home in Cape Carteret (initially) as well as our home on Emerald Isle. Luisā€™ quotes and prices were very reasonable, and we were very impressed by his personal attention and willingness to work with us as we awaited other contractors to complete their portion of the work prior to Luisā€™ finishing his. The new roof on the Cape Carteret home turned out beautifully, and Luis and his crew were so reliable and easy to work with. They always showed up when they said they would be there. They are experienced roofers, and their professionalism shows in both the quality of their work and customer service. They kept the area clean from debris throughout the whole process. We highly recommend them and would definitely hire them again (although we really hope that we wonā€™t have to do so any time soon)!

    Called them yesterday afternoon and sent pictures for a roof repair. Came out that day and completed the work in a little over an hour. Had to outsource the shingles for my roof.     Friendly group of guys that did excellent work, fast. It took the crew less than a day and a half (would have only been a day but we had rain on the first morning) to throw a new roof with architectural shingles and new drip edge on my 3 bedroom. Professional, quick, and the roof looks GREAT! They also did an excellent cleanup of the property afterwards. Luis was great to work with and and is very accommodating and willing to work with folks on a budget. They tarped somewhere around 200 houses free of charge after Florence, too. Highly recommended.

    I truly cant say enough good things about the owner, Luis, and his company 50 North Roofing. Their knowledge and quality were above and beyond what I would have expected. They hand nail the shingles which is almost unheard of now without a premium cost. Hand nailing is important so the nails do not go through the shingles which can easily happen with an air gun.We originally heard about Luis after Hurricane Florence. He and his team came into the area and tarped houses for FREE as a service to the community. We wanted to give back to him so we had him replace our roof. Very glad we did!We recommended him to my mom who also had an excellent experience when she replaced her roof. Now I tell as many people as I can about this company. You wont be disappointed!

    50 North Roofing is a great roofing company that works for a very fair price. This company came to my home and made repairs to my roof when I was selling my house and did so at a very low price. They were fast with the repairs and did a great job of cleaning up behind themselves. But the best part was that Mr. Hernandez (the owner) came back after the initial work was done and paid for and did even more work without me even knowing or without asking for more money.     Got Luis info through word of mouth shortly after Hurricane Florence. When I reached it to him in the evening after having so many companies not even show up, he had someone at our house that very next morning tarping our roof, came as a blessing and charged us nothing to have it done! When we got the shingles replaced, his guys brought up to our attention some of the damage they discovered from when our house was built, even though they were only replacing a small section, they thoroughly inspected the whole area. And they were here on Friday the very next day they did the work within an hour and were done. The work was outstanding very satisfactory! And he is getting us an estimate drawn up for replacing the entire roof. I could have not be more pleased with the service received from this company!! I had called others and they quoted me for a not so big of a repair nearly $1,000. His quote for the repair was nowhere near that! Fairly priced great work nice considerate people what more can you ask for!!!

    After a winter storm we lost a few shingles, they were already in our neighborhood helping out other houses with similar issues. The group that put on the roof had used nail guns which a lot of the nails went right through the shingle. Luis and his guys came out all using hammers a longer process, but he knows this means the shingles are actually being held up as they should be. Meaning more anchors to hold down the shingle for the future storms.

    I had a leaking shingle roof that scared me to death every time it called for rain, not to mention when it actually did! I did look at other roofs and could not decide what I wanted to replace my roof with so I could quit worrying. I decided to replace my roof with metal and didnt realized that there were so many choices. After a couple of months of research, I decided to invest in a standing seam roof which does not have exposed fasteners. Luis and his crew removed the entire roof to the plywood and then put a product called ice and water shield over the plywood. They replaced rotted wood from all the previous leaks and cleaned up all the bits, small pieces, and nails up so well that you cannot even tell it was ever even there.They installed the metal panels and did an AWESOME job! I have received many compliments on my new roof and am so happy that I chose that particular roof and was fortunate enough to have Luis install it for me! He was very professional and answered all of my many questions and took time to make sure that I not only understood but was happy with the answer. I highly recommended Luis to anyone who needs a roof, my only regret was not having him do my brand new standing seam metal roof sooner! I am going to have a carport built soon and Luis will definitely get the job!

    We contacted Luis and he was very timely in coming out to meet us. He actually detected problems that we did not even know existed. We can not say enough good things about him and his crew. They were always on time, worked long hours, did not use nail guns at all. The shingles were all hand nailed. He and his team installed a new roof for us, replaced rotten interior plywood that we did not even know was there, and replaced our tile balcony with Duradek to make the balcony completely waterproof.     50 North responded quickly to my call about a leaking roof. They showed up when they said they would and fixed the leak the first time. I had already had a different roofer out to correct the problem, but it was still leaking.I am very pleased to say no more leak now that 50Norths crew repaired my roof. They guys even kept working under a tarp when a rain shower blew in. They left my yard clean and free of roofing nails.
