Our power had to be shut down for several hours and they hooked up my portable generator so I could still function while the power was down. They truly provided a turnkey installation. Nipper Electric in Virginia Beach and all of Nippers staff are outstanding, and are true professionals . They are rated 5 stars but should have a millions stars for their true care, kindness, expertise, professionalism, always immediate response, dedication to you as the customer. I am retired Navy and found them on google as a five star electrical company during the most heartbreaking time of my life. The minute I called them they were there for me. Rocky Nippers head electrician came by and looked our home and for what we needed. We needed all new electrical upgrade. Rocky truly cared listened to my situation of the true heartbreak I was going through. He told me when he does electrical in a home he does it like he is doing it for his family, like his would be living there, safely. Rocky said this includes any electrical job from the smallest project to the biggest--putting in a light switch, ceiling fan, outside lights to a whole new electrical system/ upgrade. with a new panel. Also Rocky was very honest, he told me things I didn’t need. That is true gift to have a honest contractor. He was so correct. Rocky and his crew came immediately. All of them were there for all my concerns, and completed everything in the best way ever. This included getting permits, bunches of technical things, I never knew how much was involved., and Rocky and his staff took care of everything. Over the years I have had many contractors, this is the very first time I have ever had such true a positive experience. I told Rocky and his crew they are like Sentara Emergency Surgeons, I don’t think people realize all the detail, expertise goes into having safe electric in your home. Rocky and his crew work ethic, dedication, is the best, they go above and beyond, for you as the customer no other Electrical company can match it. The office staff Beth , Danielle and Leeanne always there for you. They answer the phone, you talk to a real person. All of Rockys crew Chris, Alex, Jorge, and Matt are dedicated, kind , expert electrical techs, professional they are there for you. I know this was long , I could added even more positive things. We were in the midst of an emergency - no heat, and all house lights were flickering! Heating & Cooling tech said it was the meter ... Dominion Virginia Power told us to call an electrician. On the recommendation of a neighbor, we called Nipper because in our 23 years of living in Virginia Beach, we had never found a great electrician. We were initially told their next opening was a week later, but when I explained the situation, Elizabeth at Nipper took mercy on us ... she couldnt make any promises, but was able to get Jorge out to the house later that day for an assessment. Jorge recognized the severity of our situation, and between him and the scheduler, he was able to return 2 days later, vice the following week. We are more than pleased with the service provided by both Elizabeth and Jorge, and should we ever need an electrician, Nipper is at the top of our list!

Update: 11/28/2023:I contacted Nipper Electric again to install an exhaust fan in a bathroom. Rocky came out and provided an estimate which I accepted. He came out again the next day to perform the work. He arrived on time and was ready to get on the job. The new fan was a replacement for an older model, but the opening had to be expanded since the new model was a slightly different size. Rocky was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. He swapped out the old fan and cleaned up before he left. The new fan looks and works great. I was very impressed with Rocky and would definitely request him to perform any type of electrical work. Nipper Electric is my go to business for all future electrical needs.The technician (Austin) was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained the work to be performed, asked me my preferences on applicable items and offered his own suggestions as well. The other associate (Glenn) was polite and helpful. They performed all work requested and I am very happy with the results. They cleaned up before they left. I would definitely use Nipper Electric in the future.

My wife and I hired Nipper Electric come do electrical work on a house we just purchased in Virginia Beach. The electrical work was necessary to bring the house up to code. The two gentlemen that came from Nipper were both very professional pleasant and competent. They arrived on the day they were scheduled at the time they were scheduled and went directly to work. They checked off every item on their list and completed the job in the amount of time I was told prior to them arriving. The cost was almost exactly what I was told I could expect and I could not be happier with the outcome. From the get go everything involving Nipper was amazing. We needed a 240 line/outlet installed on our panel for an EV charger, as well as getting a manual transfer switch installed for a generator. Setting up a consultation was super easy. Matt the technician that came out was great. I told him what needed to be done, he took a look at my panel and talked me through everything that needed to be done (to where a non-electrician could understand it). I had a couple of options for pricing and such so Matt sent me some quotes and we scheduled the appointment. There was some equipment that was backordered but the front office kept me in the loop for the entire process from start to finish. Matt and his other technician (I cant remember his name) came out today to install everything. They did great, efficient work. They explained everything that they did step by step and even labeled our panel for us. 10/10 would work with them in the future if we ever need anything else done.

Have found my electrical company for life! Very professional, courteous and responsive. Worked with us through a complete kitchen rehab. Tech Rocky was extremely helpful in walking us through different options. Realized that we hadnt included adding a GFCI outlet under the sink for the dishwasher. Rocky was able to move and replace the old dishwasher outlet without damage to the wall, or sink cabinet. In every step along they way, Nipper did a fantastic job accommodating our needs and schedule. I cant thank you enough, and there will be no other electrical company I would consider using in the future. Thanks for the great work.

I dont think I can give the team over at Nipper Electric enough praise. I am extremely grateful for the work they did and the peace of mind they have given me.We recently purchased our home and found out during the inspection process that the home had aluminum wiring. Long story short, aluminum wiring requires special attention. I reached out to Trey at Nipper and he helped to put all my worries at ease. Ultimately we had AlumiConn fittings installed in every receptacle and outlet in the home.Nipper was professional in all regards. Trey was diligent and prompt in returning/answering all my phone calls. Zach and Matt worked meticulously on each outlet/receptacle and their attention to detail was noticeable. They ensured they cleaned up the workspace throughout the day and were even cognizant of our infants sleep schedule. As an added bonus, each member of the Nipper team was a truly courteous and polite person. Hired Nipper Electric to install a new outlet for our Hot Tub. From the start they were extremely responsive, professional, and friendly. They were able to send an electrician out two days after I called. Prior to arrival I received multiple notifications and a call from Jacob, letting me know the exact time he was going to arrive including a picture of himself so I knew who was coming to provide the service. The job itself was done exactly as we requested and within a reasonable time and cost. Jacob also went above and beyond by coming back after our Hot Tub was delivered to run the electrical whip directly to the Hot Tub under the deck so we didnt have to have a conduit running in top. Cant recommend Nipper and Jacob more highly and definitely will use them again for all my electrical needs.

He told us he would be back to install an outdoor outlet but he ghosted us. We had given up on him until Austin called us to rectify the situation. He came out and installed the outlet in a timely and professional manor and stated the previous employee no longer worked for them and apologized for the inconvenience. We appreciate the honesty and work done to ensure the job was complete. He even looked at the work done previously to ensure it was all up to par. Which it was. I did find Nipper Electric this way-did a fair amount of research on the company and read every available review. As a skeptic of having strangers in my house, all my suspicions were assuaged upon the first phone call to Trey. He provided information about their company, asked detailed questions about the requested work, answered all my initial questions throughly, and was patient with me to explain what needed to be done. This is about a year after this incident happened but it is still an experience that sticks in my mind to this day. After purchasing my new home, I drilled into a wall and nicked a wire. After doing some google searches and seeing who would be open to help me on a Saturday at 8 PM I called Nipper Electric expecting an expensive quote and a difficult process. Instead Trey Nipper answered the phone and walked me through looking at the wire to ensure it was safe to apply power again. Yesterday Rocky, Aneius, and Glen from Nipper Electric, came and installed a new, larger circuit breaker box. They also installed two new outlets (in the hallway and in the master bath), upgraded another in the living room from a 2- to a 4-outlet. Additionally, they installed an outdoor outlet out front.This was an all day job made more difficult by the fact that the house was built in 1967 which meant the walls inside were plaster. Not only did they have to drill and cut the plaster to put in the new outlets, for the new one out front they additionally had brick to contend with.Today they came back to check all the lights and outlets, in order to label all the circuits and grounded everything, of course.Kudos guys! I would use them again in a heartbeat! They were professional, jovial, and excellent at their work.
