    Homeownership can be bittersweet when it comes to unexpected repairs and maintenance. The staff at Superior Energy are professional, trustworthy, accountable, and do not cut any corners . Herb, the electrician, installed two ceiling fans and is currently working on my track lighting. He is very meticulous and cerebral about his work and is a master at his craft. Tom repaired water damage in my ceiling as well as other minute wall damage in my home. He also assessed some water damage in my basement which may have saved me a lot of money. Both took the time to educate me about the work that was being done in my home. Behind every successful business there is a team that gets the scheduling done at the most convenient time for the customer. Latoya and Adam have been my point of contact and, in my opinion, are the nucleus of the business. Latoya is a gem and is always a pleasure to speak with.     Incredible crew to work with. Have had their service since 1989 for cooking propane and have now added a generator. Their support and explanations (no pressure sales) were very clear, installation went very smoothly and support staff at the main office exceptionally helpful with my follow up questions.     I wanted to thank Superior Energy for the great customer service I received. I unexpectedly ran out of propane and called Superior. They were quick to reply to my request and sent out a service technician who identified the issue and fixed it quickly. The technician Tom was professional and explained the issue and was able to resolve it!! The customer service was top notch and made me feel important and valued.     I called after going through hell with my other provider and was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted politely by patty instead of an answering machine! Not only was she kind, and polite but had all the answers to the questions I had and even ones I havent thought of yet! They seem very knowledgeable and actually care about their customers! What took me over a week at the other place was handled in roughly 10 minutes, and she said her salesman Rick would call back when he had a chance, typically with other places, this means theyll forget about you until you remind them but he called less then 5 minutes later and he was also phenomenal, hes polite knowledgeable and understanding! Genuinely seemed to care about the predicament I was in and did everything he could to help me! Id highly recommend going with superior for all your propane needs and hope you get patty or Rick because theyre heaven sent!!

    As a new user of Propane, I was very apprehensive about what to expect. My journey with Superior started with Rick McCaffrey. He came out to my new build to walk me through the process. Ricks knowledge of Propane usage and equipment needs was impressive. Throughout the build, I often had questions. Rick was always available to answer them or direct me to the appropriate source. Rick also became the conduit to my plumber, Generator, and hardscape contractor.Once the plan was in place, Mike was the guy who showed up for the install of the underground tank, my service lines, a custom manifold and miscellaneous connections. Mike always left the site better than the way he found it.Then there was Patty Allen. Any time I called the office, Patty was able to ensure my needs were met. If I called after hours, Patty was sure to return my call early the next business day.I am very pleased with Superior and would recommend them to anyone having HVAC or Propane needs.Thank you Superior Team!

    Been a loyal customer of Superior Energy for over 25 years. Great service and great people.Our family supports about 10 neighbors during extended power outages (hot food, water, sometimes a warm house). We have a full house, LP powered generator. Superior owner (Adam) knows this and is able to fill our LP tanks within a day of notice when we call to notify we are on our last tank. Each tank last about 2 to 3 days .Just this past week, first time a driver (Bryant) stopped by to do a wellness check on tank and equipment. It is so great to know Superior employs individuals who care. Dont usually find this type of dedication with employees now a days.Keep up the great service.

    Our entire experience with Superior Energy was outstanding with their entire Team. Rick, Patty, Mike and Rich were extraordinary!Rick in sales was extremely detailed and clear on the requirements to move forward with our project and always available anytime throughout this process to answer any questions.Patty was an absolute angel. She went above and beyond communicating with our contractor when it seemed like our project would never end after having to push our initial tank installation.Mike came to install the tanks, saw us at our wits end with our contractor and stepped up to make sure we were all set and completely up and running.     Updated: Always a great experience working with everyone out here. Rick was so fantastic when I purchased a propane tank from them years ago that I called them back this past month when it was time to replace my hot water heater. Let me tell you this guy is honest, up-front, down to earth and personable. Highly recommend any interaction with anyone here, especially Rick! Theyre always putting the customer first and there for you when you need them. Their management must be doing something right too because everyone always seems happy whether you meet them in person, talk to them on the phone, or respond via email.Fantastic service!Rick was down to earth and straightforward. No surprises when it came to pricing and he sat down with me to go over everything. Just had a 500 gallon tank installed by Mike and he was fantastic. Double checked his work, made sure the tank was where we wanted it, hooked up the line and made sure our hot water heater was running before leaving. Great group of folks over there.     I was extremely happy with Superior Energy installing propane for a gas stove. When I contacted Superior Rick came out the same day to look at the proposed installation location and give an estimate. Tom came out and started the initial installation. While the building inspector was here Tom talked to him about the final installation.I was very happy with Tom during the final installation and him making certain the stove was working properly. Definitely a 5 star job.

    In March of 2021 Superior Energy installed two 120 gallon propane tanks to power my Generac generator system.I got the cellular fuel gauge monitor that automatically sends a signal to the office if the tanks need a refill so even if Im on vacation and the power goes out Ill know that the generator wont run out of propane.Rick, my salesman, the install crew of Mike, Port, Steve G, Tom, and Patty in the office, were all great to work with and I recommend their services.

    We called Superior Energy because our 13-year-old Rinnai propane boiler was randomly turning off and we wanted a second opinion. We didn’t know if we would have to repair or replace it. It had been spotty for a while and (our mistake) we had waited too long to install a water softener. We were worried about the repair and replacement estimates we got from our usual HVAC company.Rich gave us a much lower estimate for essentially the same repair work. Turns out after that repair it had to be replaced anyway. (We suspected this was coming, but who can blame us for trying?) We replaced it with a Viessmann. Superior’s replacement estimate also was lower than our usual HVAC company’s. And Superior gave us a big discount on the repair work they did before realizing that repair would not be sufficient. That was decent of them.What’s more, Rich and Rick noticed that our propane tanks, which were installed by our previous propane supplier, were in a bad location. They were too close to our A/C unit (which that previous company also installed) and also too close to the boiler vent. Two building code violations! We called town hall to ask if those 10-feet-apart codes had been in place when the tanks were installed. The building inspector confirmed that they were. We were glad Rich and Rick pointed out this safety hazard that we had been living with unknowingly. So they installed two new tanks in an appropriately distanced location and we are their propane customers now.We are glad we called Superior. Rick and the installation team — Rich, Tom, Herb and Mike — got us going and we are happy with the new setup. Recommended!

    Ive known of Superior Energy because of the work theyve done for a family member. Patty has always been good answering questions and scheduling work. Rick handled the sales part of our job extremely well, working around our schedule, getting us the right unit to fit our needs and not over-selling. Jeff and Mike did a great job on the install - they provided a professional, clean install.     The most important thing about Superior Energy (what makes them truly superior, I suppose I should say) is their honesty and integrity. When Rick says hell call, hell call. And hell tell you exactly what you need to do to be safe, stay well-provisioned, and make using Superior work for you--both in person (his inspection was quite thorough) and over the phone. Patty keeps the appointments consistent and calls with reminders. And Mike does a fantastic and unobtrusive job with the installation. I know that my money supports people who listen, care, and do a great job when I buy from Superior.

    These guys are terrific. We only use propane for an oven and pool heater, so we were not on an auto delivery plan. With 16 people coming for Thanksgiving and a 26lb turkey to cook, I checked my tank this morning and it was down under 10%. Called this morning, explained the situation and got a same day delivery. It doesnt get any better than that. And yes, we changed to auto delivery.

    We shopped around, and decided to go with Superior Energy for our Propane needs based on high customer service ratings. Rick McCaffrey the Sales person, was great as he was the first person we met. Rick was knowledgeable, courteous, and explained the whole process to us. We got a date for our installation which was 3 weeks out, and met Mike Miner for our installation of tanks. He was also very knowledgeable and installed /connected 3 tanks with no trouble. We then had someone come out to fill the tanks, (did not get his name) who was respectful of our property. Lastly I talked with Patty who was informative about the billing process. She was friendly and helpful in explaining it to me. The whole process dealing with Superior was stress free, and would highly recommend them for your propane needs!

    My wife and I just called several weeks ago while looking for new propane service under the recommendation of a friend an old co-worker Bobby who works at Superior. Anne Marie was the first of many friendly and helpful staff who took my information and stated I would get a call back very soon. She was right, Rick called very shortly after and arraigned a meeting for an estimate on a Saturday, even though it was his day off, to make our schedules work. We agreed to service, especially with the excellent information and advice Rick provided. Patty was able to arrange service in a short time frame with Thanksgiving looming. On the day of installation, Mike and Jeff came out and did all the work in a timely and professional manner. Patty then was able to arrange Mike to come back out quickly, once our range finally arrived, to do the final install, as well as our new fireplace insert.     For once a company name accurately reflects their performance!!After calling a few of the more prominent propane suppliers and receiving lukewarm responses (maybe we can get a sales guy out there next week.. and I was inquiring about a completely new propane service for my home!) the next company on my call list was Superior.From the moment they answered, it was apparent Superior was different. Patty (who answered my call) was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in helping me. And, as I told her my story and needs it became apparent she had a great sense of humor as well! She listened, asked a few questions and promised her salesperson would call me later that day.Within minutes of finishing that call my phone rang; it was Superiors salesperson Rick!Rick immediately apologized for not being able to meet me that afternoon (keep in mind, my initial call to Superior was at 3pm on a Friday afternoon!) but asked a bunch of questions about my project and promised to meet me Monday morning.Rick arrived as scheduled, immediately began exploring the property and assembling the information he needed to understand the complete scope of work. I can say without exaggeration his focus on helping me understand the pros and cons of each of several options was incredible!After we agreed on the best path forward Rick went back to his office, reviewed the details with his technical folks and the next day I had a firm quote; a quote which (based against quotes for the inside plumbing I already had) was very competitive!Work included a 500 gallon tank set some 90 feet from the house, gas line from the tank to the house, piping to 5 different locations and conversion and connection of a range and dryer. A lot of work!The installation team was excellent; Sam (Samantha) was the lead and, working with Mike, she took care to insure the workmanship and execution of every detail met her standards. Rick even stopped by to insure everything was going smoothly and sent me a couple of progress photos!After installation follow-up was Superior as well! Patty called, Rick called and when I mentioned a minor aesthetic issue (one short section of pipe wasnt quite perpendicular and yes, probably no one but me would even notice it!) Sam returned and corrected it the next day!If youre looking for a new propane installation these folks are the ones to go to! They are Superior in every way!

    Needed an instant hot water heater and called Superior as they installed a new propane gas tank for us in 2015. We scheduled an appointment for them to come out to review our needs. Rick arrived on schedule as promised and reviewed our needs and wrote up a quote, we sign off that same day. It took two days as planned to get the equipment. Mike ( installer ) and Bobby ( his assistant) arrived in the morning as schedule and went right to work having all the right tools to do the job quickly, efficiently and they were very friendly and pleasant. They called the inspector to come out and had it all set up so he arrived that afternoon and all passed so they could finish the hook up the following day. The quote said it would take two days due to inspection time. Mike arrived the follow morning on schedule and finished the work and reviewed how the system worked. Mike spent time answering all our questions and he was very knowledgeable of all aspects of the unit. It was especially nice as he took his time with us and didn’t make me feel like he had to rush off. In addition both Rick and Mike went out of their way to find a link to the web site for a $100 rebate that we qualified for which was a nice surprise . They were very professional and we plan to use Superior again for our next project of a new heating system as they are very reliable!

    Mike, Rick, Buck, and Patty were all great to work with. Patty was polite on the phone when scheduling (and rescheduling) my propane tank installment. Rick showed up to my house a little early and was able to answer all of my questions; he even might have saved me a few bucks showing me the existing copper pipe could be modified rather than replaced. Mike and Buck installed the new propane tank and my new oven (including converting the range from natural gas to propane) without any trouble.     Ive used Superior as my home supplier for nearly 23 years now and have always been satisfied with the delivery service. Earlier this week I noticed that my hot water heater was failing and decided to give them a shot for replacing the heater. Was fortunate enough to connect with Adam in the office directly and in short order, Rick and Steve were both out at the house to price out the replacement. Knowing that living without hot water is no fun, despite being fully booked with other jobs, they squeezed my replacement into the calendar the next morning. Steve, Mike, and Tom arrived a bit after 7:00 am this morning and I was back in business by 8:00 am.     What a wonderful experience this process has been with Superior Propane. I stopped into the office to start the process of getting my generator set up. The gals in the office were so kind, professional and helpful. Then I met Adam- he was Great! - very informative and so good at explaining things to me. (It is all new speak to me!) Then, by the time I got home, within an hour of my visit, the phone was ringing and it was their main salesman, Rick. So responsive, was actually able to get out to the house the next morning.What a wonderful experience, again! I was having an issue with the newly installed remote tank monitor. It was not reading the correct amount of available propane in my tank. My gauge was in the red and the strong wind and rain was coming down. With the potential of the loss of power my generator would have kicked in and with the low amount of propane in the tank it would have been used up quickly. The delivery guy recognized the what was causing the issue and informed Anne-Marie of what the problem was. Anne-Marie followed up with me today to inform me that the problem would be corrected. We just upgraded from one propane tank for hot water and cooking to two tanks to accommodate a switch from oil heat to propane heat as well.     We wanted to commend Rich - the technician that came out to our home 2 days in a row. Without getting into detail about what was wrong with one of our furnaces I can say that Rich was determined to figure it out!     Since the time we contracted with Superior for propane, the original tank began showing its age, so I contacted them for a switch out. Patty was extremely helpful in scheduling the appointment. Then unfortunately the pipe leading to my outdoor grill developed a leak, so I called Patty again to schedule the repair in conjunction with the tank replacement. She was great in scheduling the appointment around my time constraints. Rick was already at the house when I got there and did a superior job in improving the installation by making it more secure at the gas grill and adding a T fitting so that only 1 pipe ran to the tank instead of the two previously installed.     Our heat went out on Monday, we called Superior energy on Tuesday for a service call. They were able to come on Wednesday for the diagnosis. Rich, our technician quickly identified the problem as a bad valve. He had the part overnighted and we were back in business. We have dealt with Superior Energy and have always felt that they put the customer first. As an addendum We were quoted a price for the part and labor. AP in the office gave us $50 off our estimate because it took Rich half the time quoted. That was a very pleasant and generous gesture which they really did not have to do. Honesty and integrity are what this company offers. If I could give 6 stars I would.

    I cant speak highly enough of this company. My first introduction was Rick two years ago. Hes almost always available and quickly responds to voicemails when not. During installation of our generator they even took it upon themselves to coordinate the process with the other contractors. The generator finally became available and was put in place only a couple days before hurricane Henri was to arrive. I called Patty on Thursday hoping (even though it was short notice) they would be able to run the pipes from the tanks to the generator. Mike and Port were out the next day to make it happen. Even though the next day was a Saturday and the hurricane was imminent, Mike returned to fill our tanks and made sure we were ready. When the storm hit and we lost power, everything worked without a hitch.

    Early in the AM my wife woke me to tell me of a strange smell in the kitchen. We could not determine the origin of the smell. To be safe we called our propane supplier, Superior Energy. Within an hour there was a technician at our house. Using his instruments he checked for leaks out side the house at the tank and then inside the house at our hot water heater. He then pressure tested the entire system. During this time he continually told us what he was doing and why and answered all questions. He then gave us some advice on better placement of our CO alarms. At all times we felt we were being helped by a professional.We have had Superior Energy as our supplier for many years. In that time we have always found them to be attentive, helpful and professional. We are happy to be one of their customers.l.

    When I first got a call that I needed to relocate my propane tank for safety reasons and to comply with code, I was not too happy. Ive been here 9 years and had just accepted an offer to buy my home. The logistics of relocating the old horizontal tank were tricky and I just wanted the new owners to deal with it after we closed several weeks later. Rick immediately put me at ease and helped me come up with the perfect solution at a very minimal cost. The new vertical tank is now in a much better location. It looks great and was actually necessary to help us pass the home inspection. Rick was super responsive whenever I texted or called him with questions. He even stopped by during the installation to make sure everything was going well and that I was happy. Now nobody else could and the stove has been running for 4 years just fine but we could not take any chances. So I called the office of Superior Energy and talked to a lady named Patty who without any hesitation told me to shut the gas off and she would send someone over by 1 oclock. By 11:30 a technician named Mike arrived and proceeded to check everything gas. If I had known it was going to be this thorough I would have had it done sooner just for peace of mind. All other companies for residential propane in the area are quoting $3-3.50, while Superior is charging customers over $5 per gallon. The EIA average for CT is $3.61 this week and This company is charging $5.14.

    Rick and that guys at Superior handled a very tight schedule around the town inspector, boiler installation, and even my vacation. Everything went better than planned and Rick was quick to answer any questions. Very pleased with the service Superior provided.Update one year later: Im finding that propane, although clean burning, is also a somewhat dirty business. I recommend anyone considering a changeover include owning tanks in their budget. Being handcuffed to contracts limits your ability to change suppliers and creates huge fluctuations in price. This was also the case with heating oil but maybe by 10 or 20%. Propane can actually be double or more through a contract as compared to the free market. Add to this the tank leasing fees and buying your own can pay for itself in one or two years. I stand by my original review, Rick planned the install and did a great job working around everyones schedules.

    I had a new propane service installed and the technicians showed up when they said they would. I did have to contact the office to find out if my inspection happened and what the outcome was because I did not hear anything. Unfortunately, there was a small leak while the line was pressurized (with air only), so it did not pass. After the repair was done it passed and I was able to schedule the final hookup. Overall I am pleased with my experience with Superior energy and cant wait to start cooking with gas!

    Switch over to Superior from anther propane dealer and glad I did! These guys provided amazing customer service as they walked me through transition to above ground tanks.     Excellent service, from the office staff to the road staff/technicians, they could not be nicer or more efficient. I recently had my furnace cleaned and not only did he do that but he suggested and then the changed the batteries in the thermostat, something I hadnt even thought about, He also, without being asked, he checked my tank levels.

    Mike and Rich were great, very polite and on time. Replaced our old tank with a new one. I had a question about possibly moving the tank in the future due to expanding out deck and they were happy to provide suggestions. Also apologized multiple times for getting the flour dirty which was no big deal at all.

    We smelt gas the other evening coming from our propane tank. I called the emergency number at Superior Energy and someone called me back within a few minutes. We were told that someone would be over within the hour to check it our. The technician/repair man arrived around 45 minutes later and was able to fix the tank in a few minutes by replacing a small part up top. Thank you! Shari And Jim

    I have been extremely pleased with the propane delivery service, customer service, and attention to detail that is provided by Superior Energy. I previously had a propane provider that began with A and was so displeased with the service. I ran out of propane even after calling for 3 days in a row BEGGING for a delivery! Horrible company and you had the distinct feeling that they were doing YOU a favor!Then I had the good fortune of having Superior Energy reach out to potential customers and I made the change. I could not be any happier. If you are not happy with your current propane provider, take it from me. You will be glad that you switched to Superior.
