    We experienced a power outage in a part of our home. Reading testimonials from other customers prompted us to call Great Lakes. Tony and Tyler arrived at the time scheduled and tracked down the problem quickly. Their friendly professionalism was top notch. Tony and Tyler did an outstanding job of representing Great Lakes. We would recommend Great Lakes to everyone.

    Great Lakes was great! Jim provided the original estimate, and helped to oversee the project. Brian and his team spent a day and an half installing a new panel in our new home as well as handling several smaller issues. Jason and Adam followed up a couple of days later to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. Throughout, everyone that we encountered was courteous, knowledgeable, and willing to answer our questions.The work was well done, quick, and reasonably priced. We would recommend Great Lakes without reservation!

    I bought an older house a few years ago that was very DIY and last night when I turned on my dishwasher, my worst fear came to life. Sparks starting shooting out from the wall. We killed the breaker and immediately called great lakes and Mike Harley was there within a half hour, no easy feat at 930 at night Thanksgiving week. Mike found the problem within about 10 minutes ( a problem I should add that a previous electrician from another company couldnt figure out about a year ago and supposedly fixed) and rewired a whole new setup behind the dishwasher within about an hour. We were literally blown away by their professionalism and quick response. So much so that I will be calling today to schedule a time for them to come look at the rest of the wiring in my house, something that now more than ever I want done. Cant say enough good things about this company and Mike, couldnt be happier! With having a vacation planned in two day on top of the holidays, I was beyond relieved to be able to have the issue addressed before leaving town. Thanks again!UPDATE: I was lucky enough to have Mike again to do the follow up work rewiring my crawlspace and him and Kadin did incredible work! Always friendly and professional, they clearly make a great team and got it done faster than expected. I will forever use this company, thank you again!!!

    From the first call Great Lakes was easy to work with. I had an estimator call me to set up an appointment but I was going to be traveling for work and could not meet with them before work needed done. The estimator was flexible and offered to still schedule a crew for an hourly rate plus materials. He was also nice enough to give me a potential ballpark range to expect. On the scheduled day of service, Shane and Kurt from Great Lakes showed up on time to hook up a hot tub for me. They were fast, clean and efficient. I feel they went above and beyond in their service and if their work is indicative of the typical service to be expected then I would recommend and use Great Lakes again in the future.

    Would recommend Great Lakes Electrical all the way!They installed whole house generator in Sept 2024 and can’t say enough good things about the company from the estimator, installers and all the behind the scene support staff in the office.Once we signed the contract to install, we didn’t have to do anything. They did everything from paperwork with Generac, city permits, inspections and everything else that needed to be done. Installation crew was on time, courteous, worked well together and very professional…one day install. Both final inspections were scheduled, city came out and both passed. Also, cost was very reasonable and scheduled in a timely manner. Thank you for everything!

    If I could give them 6 stars , I would. I sent a customer to them last week because they were experiencing power outages in random spots throughout their home. This customer asked me for a referral for a great electrical contractor and Great Lakes is my go to. After this customer called and explained the situation to Valerie, her experience told her that it was a Toledo Edison issue and she gave them contact information to get ahold of them. Valerie took it upon herself to call back multiple times that day to make sure the issue was resolved, and it was! I have worked with Great Lakes for many years and will continue to do so because of service like that and the combined experience of the entire team. Thank you, I appreciate you.

    Alastair and Alex W. did an outstanding job this morning. They handled mulitple complicated issues quickly. They were able to troubleshoot problems and resolve the issues.     Alastair A. and Elijah G pulled off the impossible! We had extensive damage to our home due to Toledo Edison mistake - these gentleman replaced our 200amp home panel, 100amp garage panel and our external meter in less than 10hrs. These technicians took the time to explain all that needed to be done, were polite and courteous throughout the process. My family and I had to stay in a hotel for the evening and we 100% trusted them on our property while we were away. I could NOT recommend Great Lakes more for their professionalism, punctuality and expertise during the process and they will 100% get additional business from us.     Great Lakes Electrical Contracting (GLEC) is a great option for any electrical needs. We transitioned from gas to electric, and the two guys sent--Shane and Kurt--did a great job making quick work of the changes.     If you have electrical issues or need repair, call GREAT LAKES ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING. I had a tenant contact me today with a major electrical problem at my rental. After checking it out, I realized it was beyond my expertise, so I called four different companies and ended up leaving messages. The fourth company I called was Great Lakes and, get this...I actually spoke with an employee, not an answering service or some automated text. Anyway, Noah and his co-worker, Nick, from Great Lakes, gave me an estimated time of arrival and they were there, on site, as promised. Note that its 8 hours since I made those calls and I havent heard from any of the other companies!Anyway, the issue ended up being outside with the wiring from the service drop to the meter of which they replaced in no time. Noah and Nick are true assets to this company and I will use GREAT LAKES ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING in the future for any electrical needs.

    I need to tell you folks about how happy I am with the work done at my home recently. Shane and Kurt are very professional. The totally figured out what to do in short order to install two new ceiling pendant lamp fixtures, one ceiling fan and a wall one outlet in areas where none previously existed. From the first contact with Jared Sears, your sales rep, to your two electricians, Nick and Nate, who completed the installation, I have nothing but good, no GREAT things to say concerning all aspects of this project and the company they represent.Jared, Nick and Nate possess a very high level of knowledge and skill in their electrical trade and I rate them second to none -- honestly, the Best of the Best.     We contacted great lakes for a list of electrical issues to fix and dispatcher/reception was easy to schedule and work with.They sent out Mike and John they were able to come earlier than expected and did an amazing job. Very professional and courteous they changed outlets, replaced bathroom light fixtures, installed porch lights as well as making sure the fuses and breaker was good. I kept adding jobs and they kept knocking them out with a smile. I would definitely recommend these guys if you need electrical work. They are now my go to electricians.

    For the past several months we have been doing extensive remodeling in our home, and Alistair & Dominic have done an excellent job of moving the project along by rewiring our electrical system. We applaud their patience & willingness to do their job with excellence. As a side note, they went beyond the call of duty when they rushed to my screams after I was shocked to discover a 2’ garter snake lurking in our basement. “Snake handler”, Alistair, calmly removed the snake & carried it as far as I insisted to a vacant lot behind our home.     As I was in the process of purchasing a new home, the inspection noted several problems with the wiring into the electrical panel. I contacted Great Lakes Electrical Contracting and Greg went to the house THE NEXT DAY and provided a quote for correcting all of the problems he found there. Gregs responsiveness was very important to me because I wanted to adjust my offer on the house based on the expense of repairing the electrical. After I had the quote, I was able to schedule them to do the repairs within a week. Dean and Kaden arrived in the morning as planned and got right to work. We discussed what they would be doing and I asked for an estimate on a couple additional items . Dean suggested that I replace a fixture as the ballasts were bad. He even looked on Lowes website and showed me a possible fixture that would work well. Dean and Kaden were personable, helpful and got the work done we asked them to do AND then they pretty much cleaned up after themselves as well! Dean was very good at pointing out issues that he saw and offering advice on best way to resolve them. I have already recommended them to a friend and I would definitely call Great Lakes Electrical again!

    Definitely would highly recommend using great lakes. We had lost all power due to a really bad storm and was without power for a week. I finally was able to get them to come out after calling multiple people. Mark came out started doing up my estimate made some calls and next thing we new he was going in on it. He and his helper nate were great they came in and replaced and entire service for us meter and electrical box. Along with upgrading a majority of the stuff. They were very quick and made everything look amazing and they cleaned up very well afterwards too. They both made sure to communicate everything that was going on. Jimmy the boss of the two had even came out to talk with me about a little issue I had before hand with trying to contact great lakes and apologize and made sure to get everything fixed right away.

    Had a failure in my electric panel. The first person they sent out was a young kid. I think he was still learning as when he left the problem was supposed to be patched for a temporary fix but wasnt. thats ok though people need to learn and the problem ultimately was resolved. But I called and spoke with the owner and he immediately sent someone out to fix the patch. It was then scheduled to update my service to 200 amp, two guys came out and they were extremely efficient. I figured a whole day event for this, they were done in a little over four hours. They did excellent work, were clean, and knowledgeable. This isnt my first time doing business with great lakes, Im a returning customer and will stay a returning customer. Looking forward to doing business with them again in the future.Highly recommend. Im sure if you search around long enough youll find someone cheaper, but you wont find someone as knowledgeable, efficient, and caring for a reasonable price.

    I could not be happier with Great Lakes Electrical Contracting and specifically Mike Harley. We started smelling something burning in our basement and one of our lights went out. We called Great Lakes on a Saturday. They were here in less than an hour and Mike found the problem and fixed everything quickly and was very pleasant to work with. Price was VERY reasonable for an emergency call out.

After reviewing three independent companies we choose Great Lakes as their proposal was excellent, team highly professional and efficient and the outcome was a quality installation.     Called late and left a non emergency message. Was called back first thing in the morning. Was able to have a technician scheduled out the next day. I had bought a wrong size bathroom fan. The technician informed me that if I went to a bigger unit, the installation would go faster without having to repair drywall. We rescheduled for next business day at 11am. At 11am Noah and Nick arrived as scheduled. They worked exceptionally well together and the job was done in very short time. We were extremely pleased with their abilities and professionalism. Would definitely recommend and will use again when needed.

    My goodness I came to this page to post a great review and that is all I saw were great reviews. I could not give Great Lakes Electrical Contracting a higher evaluation. I own a single family rental property that needed a service upgrade. Neal led the charge on getting that done and did a terrific job. I understand the Wood County inspector labeled the job as terrific and might have then done a backflip.GLCs communication with my tenant was fabulous. I had conversations with Kate and Valerie in the office and they were both prompt and informative. The final cost did not exceed the estimate I had received. It is just terrific to have a resource like this. I called the owner who is Greg to tell him how pleased I was and talking to him it became clear why they are truly a service oriented business.

They said if there was further issues they would come out again and the service would be free. We did have to call again but they came out immediately, found that the transformer then would have to be replaced, searched the area for the compatible system, replaced it, for the cost of the new part. Excellent service and follow through to completion. Could not ask for more. High recommendation.

    I had reached out to Great Lakes to get a dedicated circuit added to a room in my home and they were able to come out as soon as I was available, I was figuring there would be a little bit of a wait but I actually had to set the day out a few days to ensure I was off work.Both the crew members, Gordon and Dan, were amazing and professional. They were able to work with me on outlet placements to customize my layout, even with the old house being a huge pain.They were also able to give me some suggestions on some work that Ill be calling Great Lakes for again in the near future!

    We had Great Lakes Electrical help with some work we needed done around out home. We cannot say enough about the company as a whole and the people who work for them. I had some work done in my crawl space and I called to have GLE come to hook up a couple of things in the crawl space and put up a couple of fans and some light work. Logan and Reid were there and on time and communicated very well throughout the time they were at the house. They were extremely professional and explained everything that they were doing. Thank you for taking our call and having them come out to the house so quickly! You will always be my first call for electrical work!

    Clay and Kayden were wonderful contractors. Very pleased with not only their work, but their professionalism. They were on time and definitely efficient! Would definitely recommend. They added an extra electrical circuit to our upstairs, fixed our dining room circuit, and helped change out one of our outlets that was broken.

    Great Lakes did a great job on my hot tub install.     Ive had great lakes out 3 times, most recently this morning.Each time has been excellent, no problem with the appointments. We had our house upgraded to 200 amp service earlier this year by them, that went fine. With the summer being summer we want to use our air conditioning, but it wasnt working. Turns out we didnt know until now, but they needed to re do a breaker in the new panel to get the AC working. He took care of that, and also I had the guy do some extra work while he was here.The guy that came out was nice and he took his time instead of getting to the next job right away. Its sad that you dont find a lot of good service like that anymore, but when you do it should be acknowledged, so Im writing this review.I will be using great lakes in the future for any electrical needs no questions.

    Maxx and Tyler were amazing. Professional, kind, knowledgeable, and experienced. They are excellent faces for the company. They fixed so much for me and answered all my questions. Price was phenominal! We will be calling GLEC out again for other things we need to have done.
