We hired VZLA to do some tile work in the kitchen and living rooms, and painting of those areas. Jay did an excellent job and we are very pleased with the outcome. He was always punctual with his arrival times and the job was completed as scheduled. We highly recommend this company and we felt totally at ease leaving them alone in our home. If any additional work is needed, we will not hesitate to call them.

This summer, I needed some tile work done in my home, and a friend recommended Jay Mendez and VZLA Residential Services. I cannot speak highly enough about the outstanding work Jay and his team completed.They took on two significant projects for me: installing new shower tiles and removing and replacing the floor tiles throughout my home. Their dedication was evident, as they worked tirelessly until everything was completed.Jay is not only a skilled professional but also, from my experience, a true gentleman. If I could give Joan 10 stars, I would. Ive hired Joan many times over the past 3 years for various jobs including some that were complicated. Im extremely picky and want the job done right the first time. First, Joan always responds to me quickly and makes it a point of coming out as soon as hes available. One time he moved his schedule because my job was urgent. Hes an excellent communicator and youll never have to track him down. He always shows up promptly too. Most importantly, he does a fabulous job. He takes pride in his work and wants his customers pleased with the job. Joan is fair priced and isnt only good at what he does, hes a wonderfully kind human being too. I recommend him with 100% certainty that you will be thrilled with him and his workmanship.

We have had the pleasure of having Joan complete many projects for our home over the past few years. He is an incredible electrician as well as highly skilled in any project we have had him complete big or small. He has repaired countless items in my home from electrical wiring issues, drywall repairs, shower tile work, installation of new light fixtures interior and out, installation of water heater, and many more. Joan also completed our entire electrical wiring for our new dock as well. Joan is reliable, always on time, trustworthy, and impeccable in his work. He is outstanding in every job he has ever done for us. He is an absolute pleasure to deal with both personally and professionally.We intend to hire Joan to complete our outdoor kitchen remodel and stonework for our interior 2 story fireplace next.We trust him completely and wouldn’t hire anyone else.Hire Joan…..I promise….. you will be thankful that you did!!!!

From the initial quote to the final touches Joan’s attention to detail, cleanliness and communication made working with him a pleasure. He installed slat wall, new backsplash in my kitchen and bar, remodeled my laundry room and created a custom closet build out around a steam engine. His tile work is very clean and took care of moving and reworking electrical outlets in multiple areas. A Jack of all trades and a master at them as well. Our go to for any work needed in our house.

Cant say enough about Joan and the quality of work he performs. I would recommend him for any small to medium sized job around your house. From remodels to carpentry to tile work and beyond. A back story, we had a water line break in the spare bathroom, which we had to have the water line replaced and then Dri Rite come in and dry out the place. They wanted $10k to repair drywall, replace base boards and paint. No flooring. So a co-worker who uses Joan Jay gave me him phone #; I sent him a text and we met up for an estimate. He was so low on repairs that I asked him about flooring. Full repair job with flooring $6200 +/-. We had to have some touch work done and our master bedroom ceiling went out, I purchased a ceiling and had Jay install it while it was at the house. Very trust worthy. Good communication; easy to work with. We hooked up the RV and the 30amp service my BIL installed started popping the breaker, texted Jay, and a couple of days later we have 50amp for the RV. Husband happy, Im happy.

I highly recommend Jay. He has remodeled 2 of our bathrooms and they turned out beautiful. These werent easy jobs. First bathroom he removed an old jacuzzi down the stairs and the second one he removed an old cast iron tub. He is also a master electrical contractor and has helped us with several projects. Jay explains what he is going to do and gives you updates. He doesnt hire subs, he does all the work himself so you dont have to worry about strangers coming and going. Honest, cleans up every day before he leaves and tells you his plans for the next day. You wont be disappointed.

As a landlord far away from Tampa, I confided in Joan to completely gut and remodel 2 bathrooms in my south Tampa condo. His estimate was the cheapest of 3 and allowed me the option to purchase the materials of choice from the stores of my choice. He went to the stores and picked up the materials. On a continuous basis, he provided video and photos for me to see progress and help us communicate and plan. The bathrooms surpassed my cost, schedule, and results expectations. With my trust gained, I had him do flooring for my entire 2nd floor. Then I had him paint the entire interior. He helps you make smart product and repair choices depending on your goals and financial situation.

I recently had a tankless water heater installed in my home, and I couldnt be happier with the experience. From the initial consultation to the final installation, the electrician was professional, courteous, and clearly knowledgeable about tankless water heaters. He answered all my questions patiently and explained the process thoroughly.The installation was completed quickly and efficiently. He worked meticulous about keeping the work area clean and tidy, and left no mess behind. Installation was flawless, and the tankless water heater is now functioning perfectly. Highly recommeded.

Joan Mendez is as good as a mechanic as any one will or would find. He has corrected the electric in my home, place new gfi boxes in my kitchen and created a very special illumination with patio lights for my pool deck. All of these items for much less money than I had projected. He is worth the time and money for any home improvement you my wish to do.
