    The electrician who came was Bill Welsh, he was punctual and very professional. He met with a more complicated issue than expected and was able to solve it perfectly. Although he had to come twice, he never showed any signs of impatience,very polite. He answered all my questions.Excellent service, I would highly recommend.

    Jp. McCurdy helped me with a bunch of electrical work after. I bought my home, they were very professional and responsive to work with. Shebeeb and Brandon did an excellent. and professional job going above and beyond to ensure the work was done correctly in the best way possible, leaving a professional finish patching the wall where they needed to move an outlet, and cleaning up. 10/10 would recommend.

    If you are planning to take out the old Knob and Tube (K&T) from a 1890s wood framed, 3 storey furnished house as we did,they make it bearable.     We had many odd jobs that we needed help with around the house. JP McCurdy was extremely responsive and quick to book an appt. They arrived on time and worked professionally and quickly, recommending that we get a new electrical panel as ours was overloaded. We decided it was best to move forward and got a quote and an appt quickly within a couple days. Shabeeb and Nico were extremely professional and diligent in giving us a brand new electrical panel. We are SO happy with the result, it’s labeled and organized and they grounded a wire in our basement while they were here as well. We will absolutely be calling them for future services!

    I cannot say enough good things about my experience with J.P. McCurdy Electrical Services. They went well above and beyond on our job. Most meaningful to me is that Jack McCurdy (owner) stood by his word and contract even when more work was required on our job. The electricians working in our home were diligent, thorough, and respectful. (I work from home so this was important.) The head electrician, Joe, was great to work with. He was very patient with us and always took time to answer questions. We were having all of the knob and tube removed from our home, which can be a dirty and require holes in the walls. Joe and the rest of the team did all they could to minimize the holes and mess, and even came up with ingenious ways of accessing difficult to access areas that needed rewiring. Working with McCurdy Electric felt like a godsend after having previously dealt with a dishonest contractor. I would highly recommend this company. I can sleep at night knowing that the knob and tube is definitely gone, and I can finally safely insulate my home. Should we ever need further electrical work done in our home, we will be sure to call them again.

    JP McCurdy Electrical is our go-to electrician! We had new smoke/CO2 detectors installed and a new ceiling fan. The work was completed in a timely fashion and they were immaculate. At one point one of the detectors needed replacing; they came over right away and took care of it.

    We live in an old condo in Cambridge where there was zero lighting. It was perpetually dark with our inadequate lamps. Mr. John McCurdy himself came out to give us an estimate to install recessed lights in our ceilings. He was knowledgeable and trustworthy and very experienced. Then the job was easy and smooth. Joe and Brandon came out and did the living room. They made a minimal to no mess, and installed wafer lights. Joe took the time to explain all the options to us, including how we could adjust the light color. The next day, Shebeeb and Nico came and did the kids room and the big bedroom. They consulted with us on spacing, dimmer switches, and even installed a fan. They were courteous and respectful and did a FABULOUS JOB. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat. The lighting has made a big difference to our quality of life and has been worth the investment.

    I used JP McCurdy to install recessed lights in my living room. The ceiling was sloped and very high and Shazeeb and Nico did a great job. They also installed overhead lights in bedrooms and put in a 240-volt outlet for a washer/dryer room. They communicated with me about my preferences throughout the job. Their work was professional and clean. They also patched the holes they made, which some electricians wouldn’t do.

    I called McCurdy to assess the lighting in our kitchen. One side had poor lighting. Jack came and knew exactly what we needed. Shebeeb and David came on a scheduled day (on time!) and completed the job so well, its hard to tell which recessed lights are the new ones. They even washed my floor before they left! They also installed a new plug that was complicated because of the placement over the basement. The job was perfect and were thrilled.

    These guys were great, thank god. After months of trying to find an electrician to do some minor repairs. So I spoke with five different electricians I found in the Lynn area, every one of them showed up to look at the job and give an estimate. the problem was after numerous calls, none of them sent the estimate or returned calls ( I get it everyone is busy but honestly) - So I called an old electrician I used in Lynn many years ago - he had since retired and JP McCurdy now was servicing his customers. Best experience we have had with a contractor - first showed up exactly on time to review the job and told me they were busy - Sent the estimate - when he said he would - so another plus. Than when we called to say we wanted to move forward, the office staff were incredible helpful in coordinating the job. Two guys showed up - on time - very professional and extremely personable. They first discussed Covid protocols - which was a plus - and before they even started asked two questions that I was really impressed with1. Did we have any pets they needed to be aware of and that could not go outside - which we do have two indoor cats -2. If we had multiple bathrooms, given Covid was there one we would prefer them to use - (they could use any of the three if they needed to) but the point was, they were two questions that showed they cared about our thoughts.Anyways - they explained everything they did and were informative - I cannot say enough how impressed we were with them and the estimate was spot on. We will definitely use them again for any and all electrical needs we will have.

    I have been working with JP McCurdy for the past 11 years. They have given exceptional service over this time. I am a single mother and it is not always easy to find craftsman that are willing to take the time to explain issues as McCurdy has done.Not only competent electricians, but have been helpful in giving advice , friendly, and kind in their communication.     McCurdy electric recently completed the following electrical upgrades to our 160-year-old house: service upgrade; installation of auxiliary electric heat in three rooms and one bath; replacement and/or removal of knob and tube wiring; replacement of old switches and outlets; installation of new lighting fixtures; and upgrade to code. These activities were accomplished without any interruption to the progress of simultaneously occurring carpentry, plumbing, and painting; nor any loss of comfort or convenience, even though we are living in the house during renovations.McCurdy Electric’s estimation process is detailed and carefully explains the basis of the estimate.Scheduling work was easy, cooperative and, quite frankly, a pleasant experience. The same is true of billing discussions.We were pleased with the knowledge and professionalism of the owner, Jack McCurdy, and his entire staff.We strongly recommend McCurdy Electric for your next electrical project.

    There is one question I always ask myself about employing other tradesmen, would I employ their services again? With McCurdy electrical its a resounding YES! Jack, the owner was very responsive in returning my calls and also with his initial site visit to give an estimate for a Three Family Multi-panel Service Upgrade.He was very professional and patient in explaining what was required, and with the steps that needed to be achieved in order to complete the job! The excellent advice he gave personifies his vast experience in the field. My job involved a lot of tedious circuit identification in a house that had not been updated in this century. It also had exterior fixtures to be updated along with common area upgrades. His experience and advice was priceless in finding cost-efficient ways to bring everything up to code. kudos!He dealt with all the back-end permit pulling and the Utility communications which relived me of the stress of dealing with those organizations. Jack, kept an open dialogue with me concerning the project and was always checking in about how his employees were doing on site. On this point, his employees were very respectful and responsive and worked tirelessly to get the job done. Their work ethic is second to none and it reflects the the ethos of the McCurdy company.In short, The McCurdy company came in on budget, completed the scope of work detailed in the itemized estimate and delivered on time.     The most important thing to me with contractors is honesty. And of course, competency, and a fair price. Well, McCurdy passed the test with flying colors for me on all counts. Jacks character (hes the owner) is outstanding--he stands behind the companys work and honors his word 100%, looking to save the customer money if possible, instead of upcharging. Hell give you the straight truth about whats going on and whats needed, at a good price.I had to have knob and tube electric wiring removed so that we can insulate our house. Its a big job, and McCurdys workers, led by Joe, were all kind, considerate, and knowledgeable about what they were doing. They even did a significant amount of work that they didnt charge me for. I couldnt be happier with what they did.Honest, professional, kind--and highly recommended! Id call them again, and send my friends and family to them in a heartbeat. Finding a trustworthy worker is gold--Ill be saving their number for any future needs.

    My fire alarms kept going off so called JP McCurdy to come install new ones that I bought. The new ones were a different brand so required them to do rework on the wiring to swap them out. I called them at 8am and said how I had a newborn at home and really needed help with these alarms. They instantly sent someone over and all the new alarms were installed and tested within the hour. Price was reasonable / comparable to other electricians I’ve used.

    I had some electrical work done in my home. I had the company remove the old cloth wires through out the house and replace it with new wiring.
