    Had furnace and AC serviced as a maintenance task for the first time since moving in to my home 5 years ago. Technician pointed out oxidation within the furnace, that would lead to potential dangerous CO2 leakage. It being 20 years old, I feared this conversation would be coming at some point. They provided a very reasonable quote for a new unit with installation, and financing options. They came the following day to install the new unit. All technicians were prompt, friendly and professionally. The entire experience from my initial call for service until the installers left was seamless. Would highly recommend Merts / Four Seasons. Though months away, I am now ready to tackle the winter cold.

Now that Four Seasons has acquired a good company, I will need to see if the local reputation is correct. But todays service call was reasonable.

    ‼️ Update 7/12/2024, I spoke with Lynn yesterday about my business and was completely devastated to find out the service guy and one of the installers have left this company and mentioned that the issues with my new furnaces were never addressed she went into my file and saw the notes and Im suppose to hear back from someone within a week. This merge with Four seasons has affected customers in my eyes as Im a long time Merts supporter. Im a business owner myself and Eric was one of a kind‼️ I use Merts for commercial and residential, they are truly amazing, honest, professional from the owner, to the staff in the office, to the employees they send to you. The pricing is amazing as well. You wont go wrong with this company.Updated 11/12/2023 Merts and their staff never fails me. My 23 y/o Frances furnaces had to be replaced this year and they went above and beyond!

    On 11/29 I opened my back door to the smell of gas that had me coughing. The gas was turned off and called Merts Heating & Air Conditioning. I stopped by the office the staff was nice and helpful. The service Tech Eric Pyle is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and let me know what and why I needed the work done, he went above and beyond. I really appreciate the time and effort. They sent a man named Ryan out to check out my furnace not only did he check out my whole furnace the heating latitude to make sure the proper heating was going through the system not too much not too low he went through everything he figured out everything he was so wonderfully nice and professional he helped me with any questions I had, he made me feel so comfortable and talked me through everything he was doing so that I would understand everything. he did an awesome job and for a very reasonable price and I am on top of the world right now! high five to these folks truly wonderful!     I needed to replace my thermostat, and had a coupon for a checkup on my A/C. Ryan was the tech who checked out the system, which is 19 years old. He was on time, knowledgeable, and efficient, and explained what he was doing at each step. He recommended replacing the unit next year.     Had my air conditioner repaired. The entire process from setting up apptmt to the service repair were both great. The phone customer service rep and repair man (Jesus), were both helpful, knowledgeable and courteous; he explained to me and showed me the part that needed replacing.     Nicor found carbon monoxide venting out into the house from my hot water heater and turned it off until it could be repaired. The company that installed the hot water heater said it wasnt their problem because they installed it correctly to the venting system that was already there. I was beside myself worrying about this leak AND not having any hot water. I called Merts and Jenifer sent Ryan out immediately, as soon as she heard carbon monoxide. He, and later Jake, attempted to adjust the venting system, but that was unsuccessful. Jose and Jesus returned to install a new lining in the chimney, but that couldnt be accomplished because of another problem with my OLD house. They returned to install a new water heater and vent it directly outside through the basement wall. This whole process took a while, but everything was accomplished. Through this whole fiasco, Jenifer and Gordy tried to accommodate me with scheduling the work ASAP, and all the technicians were all professional and responsive to my needs, especially Jose. They were genuinely concerned for my safety. Thanks to all of you. YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!

    Ryan, I really appreciate your service & knowledge. My husband and I asked multiple questions and Ryan answer them with easy and with patience. He were here to service our heater, but he even answer questions about our Central air and it’s 40° in Chicago we are not about to ran that anytime soon. I even like that we received pictures on what he fixed and he explained our problem. Thanks Ryan again! I did not realize Merts deal with different contractors. I am very disappointed with. A month later I called them again cuz my furnace was blowing cold air when it should have been heat. This the 2nd time with in a month I had to call them for the same services. This time it was a guy from Four seasons that guy was very rude and pushy toward me. He kept pushing me to get another services done cuz he don’t understand whoever installed this, why they didn’t this way & he was pushing me to get services done even air conditioning my air conditioner was just installed last year. He said that was done work. He was very negative saying I do not know how long this going to last. Ur motor might go out or u might need another board. Everything that was coming out of mouth was ALL negative. I told him a few times to stop pushing for me to pay for other services & why the 1st technician didn’t tell me this. We all work different, he said. I had to tell him to leave my house three times, he kept saying I have to finish my report. I was hoping my husband pulled up. I even told him he making me very angry. After a few min laters, he said my company told me to leave. I said this my house not ur company he finally left. I spoke to my sister she said she had a bad experience with them too & she don’t trust them I said me either. She described the guy that serviced them and I told her that’s how that man look she said yes he was rude & pushy.     This letter is long over due. We have used Merts for over 15 years. Where do we start?We have really had a wonderful experiences with Merts. Of course, the most important factor is fixing the problem as soon as possible at a reasonable price. Repair work is normally urgent. i.e., no hot water, no heat, no air conditioning or frozen pipes.They have a good office system to schedule the work and keep you advised of the estimated time a qualified repair person will arrive. We have had many of their service staff and without doubt all their service staff are true professionals.With a boiler system we have needs beyond most homes with forced air. After your last job was completed the service person (Eric) asked me for the instruction manual to check something he was not aware of but not related to the repair. He took a picture of the text and diagrams to study later. During the repair he took time to explain what he was doing. He noticed some anomalies during maintenance, explained what he wanted to do to correct the issues and how much it would cost, then performed the service in a timely and professional manner.     Had a problem with my air conditioner. Called yesterday and they offered to send someone out that day. Unfortunately it didnt work with my schedule so it was scheduled for today. Frank arrived on time and explained the problem so I understood it. Fixed in short time and then continued to tune-up my furnace since it was scheduled to be done in mid-September so I didnt need to have him come back. Great job!

    Merts is a very good company. I have two York high efficiency furnaces and AC units that they installed and have maintained over the years. Very easy to make appointments. Very responsive to emergency concerns and recommendations for maintaining the furnaces in proper working condition.Eric Pyle is an especially excellent technician. His knowledge of the York furnace and its maintaince and repair is phenomenal. And, he is a very nice guy. He cares for the furnance as if it is his own and goes above and beyond in explaining and answering any questions or concerns.     My A/C stopped working and as I sat there melting and dripping with sweat I started calling around to see if I could get my 14 plus year old R-22, A/C working for one last season. Places I initially spoke with kept trying to sell me a new unit immediately but wouldnt even try to attempt a repair or refrigerant replacement. I called Merts because of the high reviews and was greeted cordially by a lady named Jennifer who understood my situation and said she would send someone out the next afternoon. AWESOME! They called early the next day and asked if I would like an earlier appointment...um..HELL YEAH!!! I was baking in the 90 degree weather and 120 degree house(exaggeration but it was super hot). Jimmy from Merts showed up early. YES!!! I explained my situation and he immediately began investigating my problem. Yes, it is an old unit but he was willing to try and after literally about 15 minutes he diagnosed and had the it running again. SWEET ICY AIR RELIEF!!!! Needed a new capacitor and switch. Didnt even need any refrigerant or R-22. He recommended a cleaning and discussed options for the future. I am so pleased with the repairs and the level of customer service from start to finish that when the time comes to replace my unit I wont hesitate to call Merts. Quality work, great staff, and fair prices! I have found my trustworthy HVAC company.

    Jesus was the most thorough Serviceman Ive ever had. He explain things and showed me what he was doing and he cleaned the furnace more than anyone ever did before. I was told a service technician would arrive between 12:00 and 5: 00.George arrived promptly at 12:00 noon and got to work diagnosing the problem with my furnace. Two other gentlemen were going to be in route bringing the furnace and new items that were needed while George got busy draining the hot water heater which needed to be relocated. The technician was very helpful, he fixed the issue and quoted what it might cost for us to replace the unit in the future. They did not charge us a ridiculous amount. About an hour after he left, we noticed that we had received an advertisement in the mail that day that had a coupon attached. We called to see if, just by chance, they would honor the coupon, even though we received it after the tech left.     First time using merts and from the person (dispatcher?) who answered the phone to Adam every thing was great. Gas was turned off by NICOR for a leak. Adams found a few more and made sure everything was safe when he was done. He showed my his soap and water test and no bubbles to confirm no leaks. Very very professional. Good employees for a good company. I would recommend. And like their donation to breast cancer this month.

    Merts has great customer service. Technician Jacob, did an awesome job! He had great attention to detail, performed a very throrough inspection, and tune up of my AC.     The company is over-the-top CUSTOMER first! They dont come with the gimmicks of other vendors ready to nickel and dime you for every new feature or every service. My first interaction was with a sweet lady that was able to schedule a fast appointment (next day). Bob came out and assessed my current situation. He was very knowledgeable and provided me a few offers. Not sure if he was swinging a pendulum as we were going over prices, but I was convinced! Techs came out same day and in less than 4 hours the house was equipped with the AC system. Definitely going back for the furnace and definitely recommend!!!

    We have been with Kleine/Merts for several years now.They are very professional and send the same technician to service our heat and A/C which is comforting because that technician knows the equipment in our home and the repairs/ services that have been done before.They are very courteous about calling to confirm the appointment and also the technician calls when they are close.I highly recommend them and last note.. on the 4th of July last year we thought we had an A/C problem and it turned out to be nothing but the technician STILL showed up even after we canceled the service to be sure we had our A/C up and running. Excellent customer service .. we highly recommend them!
