We have used JC Custom Painting on a number of occasions and we have always been pleased with their work. We unfortunately experienced a flood in our basement in October. Baseboards, drywall, and carpets had to be removed/replaced. Repainting was done throughout. JC Custom Painting put our home back together. They were professional and our basement looks better than it did before.

We are beyond satisfied with the services provided by JC Custom Painting! From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. We received our in person quote promptly. Edwin was able to immediately accommodate our request for scheduling. We originally decided to paint our entire main floor; entry, office, kitchen, sunroom, formal dining, halls, Mudroom, family room, guest room, ceiling, stair risers, all trim and doors, as well as adding on carpentry services which included 20ft floor to ceiling shiplap in our family room around the gas fireplace and crown molding in our entry. The craftsmanship of the work done by the carpenter is impeccable and we highly recommended and suggest this add on. The team was mindful and cautious covering our floors and furniture. Super grateful for Edwin and his crew at JC Custom for getting our huge painting project completed! We appreciate the attention to detail they obviously had with the finishing touches (moulding/trim) because we had all carpeting removed and many adjustments needed to be done to look finished. No crazy gaps between the trim and the door frames etc. We had long hallways, bathrooms, bedrooms, main living spaces repainted and cabinets refinished. Looks like a completely new house! They took care of the cleaning and took extra effort (IMO) to keep the dust to a minimum because at first it did get unruly. Very happy with the work!

Over the summer, I hired JC Custom Painting to do extensive work at my home at Heritage Hunt in Gainesville. The work involved (1) repairing extensive wood rot around multiple windows, (2) painting and repairing/replacing deck stairs and hand rail, and (3) repairing the deck itself including replacing boards and washing/staining. The results were phenomenal, and the cost was fair and reasonable. We even received compliments from our neighbors on how great the deck stairs looked. I cannot speak highly enough of JC Custom Painting. I reached out for more information and received an immediate reply from Edwin, who came out to give me as estimate and get everything scheduled super quickly. The team painted the walls, ceilings, trim, and doors of my condo, and everything looks phenomenal. I had a few places where awkward settlement, cracking, and some patches that I had done myself which were not in the greatest of shape, and they prepped everything so that the imperfections are hardly noticeable at all, when before they were all I could look at. Everything was covered, they took pictures of my furniture to replace it as it was when they were finished, and gave me advice on how to finish some little things I have left. The price was incredibly reasonable and the quality is extraordinary. I will definitely be coming back with future projects.

Wow what can I say about this painting company! JC painters are punctual, perfectionists, professional and just overall competent and kind!!! Edwin (the owner) is a great business man who gave me a fair estimate and checked with me daily keeping the lines if communication open….. Not only did Edwin provide me with the best painters I ever witnessed, but he also used his tile guy for completing the best looking back splash imaginable. I say this, because I chose a fireplace stone for my back splash, and Freddie cut each stone so precise. The window over my kitchen sink had uneven spaces on both sides of the window, but Freddie somehow cut and placed the stone perfectly in those spaces. I could continue on and talk about how these guys COVERED EVERYTHING prior to working, and then cleaning up each night. This cleaning trait will be important to those individuals who start getting anxious over their homes not being in order. during construction/remodeling.Needless to say, Edwins guys will be coming back to complete painting and tile work in my Master bedroom and basement. JC Custom Painting is the real deal! Edwin was very responsive from the beginning until the end. The crew was very professional and always showed up on time. The entire team knew what they were doing and were very careful when painting. When the house (including a two and a three car garage) were done, we we extremely satisfied with the work product. We also had JC Custom painting build a bench with cubbies in then mud room and change some light fixtures and install some new ones. We were told that it would take close to two weeks to have all the work but it was done in leas than two week. The prices were very competitive and we chose them over a different company and we are glad we did. The workmanship and professionalism by the the JC Custom are second to none.

We have used JC Custom on 4 jobs over several years. Our jobs have been simple painting (twice), custom woodwork in the bedroom, and a complete kitchen remodel. Their work is always exemplary. They seem to have a large group of workers ranging from apprentices up to master craftsmen. I work from home, so I was around to see teaching going on as the jobs progressed.In our kitchen remodel, they installed cabinets, set up the gas oven and hood, did plumbing and electrical work, installed an exterior door, patched our vinyl siding, and put in custom shelves in the pantry.The crew is always friendly, courteous, and clean. Even with the kitchen painting going on, our family room stayed mostly dust free.Pricing has been reasonable, and estimates have been very close to the final prices.Im very comfortable recommending them to do any work they say they can take on.FYI -- The built-in refrigerator is on back order. They are coming back to finish the job even though it will be a month+ until fridge is scheduled to be delivered.

Edwin and his crew turned our drab, natural wood finish kitchen into the kitchen of my dreams. Their prep work and neat and tidy work space was unexpected. They arrived at 8:00am every morning as promised, they were very quiet, respectful and polite. The tile setter and his assistant were exacting in the placement and the tile looks gorgeous. I had two side walls that needed new drywall and the area is invisible. Overall, the cabinets look as if they came from the manufacturer. JC Custom painting did a really good job although I had to point out a lot of nail pops that I asked to be part of the scope of work, but for some reason the workers missed although they did go back and take care of them, I still thought for the cost (that was a little excessive in my opinion) those types of things would have been done. The painters also ended up painting my trim with the same wall color which was not supposed to be changed but it still looked nice in the end. Also, the size of the crew was not always consistent which caused the job to not be completed upon the original agreed upon timeline. Again, overall they did a good job and my home showed and sold with ease but I still think it was overpriced for a standard whole home paint job as I think every ceiling should have been included for the price I paid.

Ive used Edwin and his team several times over the last 4 years. He painted our entire home as well as done a lot of carpentry work. Including our coffered ceiling, custom pantry, wainscoting, and window casings. Recently, we removed our over the stove microwave and installed a hood, which required new backsplash as well as some cabinet repair. Hes always on time, responsive, and willing to do whatever he can to ensure that we are happy, which is why we keep coming back. Anytime I have a concern, he works to make it perfect. I don’t write reviews, but for this team I will. Edwin’s crew did a terrific job at our home in Clifton, VA. We asked for the house exterior to be repainted. His crew repaired and replaced rotted siding, made substantial fiberglass repairs to a rotted door, repaired multiple rotted exterior windows, replaced dry rotted Tudor trim, and caulked, primed, and painted the house. The attention to detail of the crew was exceptional—his crew definitely takes pride in the quality of their work. It sounds trivial, but most contractors say they will caulk as part of prep—I cannot find any spots his crew missed! In addition they showed up each day and worked until the job was complete…no leaving to start second jobs. Well done!

And one of his painters, Roberto, can “magically” make any wall or ceiling look new with his repairs and painting. I was a color consultant for a number of years, and he’s the best painter I’ve met.

Needless to say the paint looks amazing, the quality is outstanding and they finished with 5 days to spare. One thing I should also mention is that the house is only 4 years old and is still settling, as a result we had a lot of nail pops and places where the drywall was buckling and guess what??? First, all of my belongings are carefully protected from dust or paint. Next, the prep work is completed. I believe this is one of the most important steps. JC Custom Painting just completed the second of two jobs we contracted with them to complete this year. The first job Edwin’s team transformed our kitchen cabinets from a dark stain to a professionally-finished white. In the second job, two crews came out. On the outside they painted along the foundation, exterior columns, garage door & front door. Inside they addressed some settling that had occurred in the ceilings— they look better than when they were new. Additionally they painted all the walls in three adjoining rooms, including the trim work and ceilings. All in all, I think they did an incredible job. Would definitely work with JC Custom again in the future.

I couldnt share a more positive review than I had with Edwin and his team from JC Custom Painting. We had the entire exterior of our home and detached garage painted. We had 3 other estimates, and while not the least expensive, the details of their quote made us choose them, and they lived up to every expectation! After 14 years of weathering, the joints, eves, and soffits needed significant prep work (i.e. caulking and sanding), and Edwins team was meticulous. Then his team spent another day repairing flaws in our Hardi-plank siding. Finally, they did primer coats to both the Hardi-plank and trim; plus a finishing coat to the plank and two finish coats to the trim. In short, the house looks better than new and exceeded all of my expectations. In this day of sub-par/shoddy work by a lot of contractors, I couldnt be more impressed. Highly, highly recommended!!
