Robert constructed a new floor in our attic, which is a small and confined space that presented quite a challenge.Despite the difficult working conditions—especially with the summer heat—Robert approached the task with professionalism and efficiency. He maintained a positive attitude throughout the entire process, which made the experience even more enjoyable.The quality of Roberts work is outstanding, and I couldnt be happier with the final result. Steven of Mr. Handyman fixed a very long-standing issue with steps in a Bilco door entrance to the basement of the house. The steps were constructed from a standardized steel stringer, but were not properly secured into the concrete enclosure and had become skewed and off-angle. The riser heights at the top and the bottom were completely out of code tolerances. When Stephen was done, every single fastener on the stringer was pre-drilled and screwed into the concrete, all the removable wood tread inserts were properly secured (2 screws/tread), and the entire stair assembly aligned and lifted so the the riser heights, from top to bottom, were correct to code. I had no idea the result would be this good.

I needed a large, heavy, (18000 BTU) window air conditioner removed and a new one installed in a school building with single-pane aluminum frame windows. Robert and Pete arrived early for the job, were very friendly and professional in their demeanor, and did an outstanding job on the replacement. They were very respectful of the area around the work site, taking care not to damage anything and making sure everything was tidied up afterwards. They completed the job in a remarkably short time, yet did solid work. Considering that they hadnt seen the job before arriving, and had to do some on-the-fly problem-solving for the install, I was stunned by how fast it was completed. I definitely recommend Mr. Handyman, and would readily hire them again for tough-to-solve oddball projects that dont fit into the standard trades.

Ive used this service at least twice before and found them to be very capable and highly reliable. My experience with Peter Savaryn couldnt have been any better. Clearly he was knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. All of the work he did was top notch. He even cleaned up the resulting trash and took it with him when he left. One thing I want to make clear to potential customers is that they are insured. This is often overlooked when utilizing someone professing to be a contractor. In the event that a contractor is injured while on your property, it leaves you open to a potential lawsuit. Always ask if they have workmens comp before hiring. In conclusion, I highly recommend them for misc. jobs such as furniture assembly, minor repairs and more.

I hired Mr. Handy man to fix my string lights on my patio that I had put up several years ago Jon Bulakbasi their technician was fantastic he came two days before the job was going to start to meet with me and discuss the project as well as confirm the materials list, he showed up on time with all the proper materials on the scheduled day. The work came out great he was very clean and professional while do his work. While there he also helped me reorganized my garage we took everything out, cleaned the floor and put everything back in. Our storm door blew off our front door during one of the recent wind storms, and Jon from Mr. Handyman of S.Orange/Westfield/ScotchPlains/Metuchen came to the rescue! He first helped with deciding what to order for a replacement door (Andersen Series 3000--special order), which we ordered, gave us the labor estimate & then returned to do the install. Jon is a skilled professional: he does meticulous carpentry work and can make on-the-spot work arounds that always arise when doing installs on old houses. Best of all, he has a wonderful, helpful demeanor. We appreciate that the manager of Mr Handyman also squeezed us into the schedule once the special order door arrived. We will continue to use this Mr Handyman and recommend them to all our friends.

We needed to replace a light and exhaust fan in our third floor bathroom. My wife and I bought a replacement in 2022, but it was 8 square, and the old box was 8X12. An electrician looked at the job, but simply said you are going to need to sheetrock the opening. I was working on the job myself when I had reached the end of my limited skills. I called Mr. Handyman on a Friday, and Dan showed up on Monday morning at 8 AM as promised. Everything that need to be done he did, including spackling. He would have painted too, but I didnt have any leftover paint. Very happy!

On the other hand, after being disappointed twice by local contractors, I felt it was worth the extra money to get a company that was on time, did what they said they would do and communicate with me constantly and professionally. From getting the services scheduled to the work itself the whole experience was great.They took the time to understand our challenge (birds nested in our vents), figure out how to resolve the challenge (all 4 birds flew out under their own power and were healthy) and make sure we didnt face it again by ensuring that the proper screens were attached to our vents.Mike came out, expertly assessed the situation, made sure that we understood what was going to be done and he brought all the right tools for the job.Would 100% recommend Mr Handyman (Ron, Alena and Mike) to anyone looking for work around their house and will 100% be using them again!

Robert was our tech and he came 2x to our house to do 2 different jobs- to fix a leak and to patch up drywall. He was professional, polite, and very nice. Mr Handyman charges by the hour and I would certainly use them again for more skilled work like plumbing. I think they are a little pricey for more general handyman work like painting. Overall, they seem to be a trustworthy company and I would recommend them to friends and neighbors.

We had James Kralovich as our technician. We were having issues with the installation of our storm door which we got though Monk’s. They did a bad installation and the door wouldn’t align properly so it didn’t close. The stress from the wind ended up causing a crack in the frame. James repaired the crack and corrected the installation so the door closed properly and was properly fastened to the frame of the house. He painted the frame to finish it off and the job came out great!

I only needed one step installed in my hallway and called Mr. Handyman to see if it could be installed quickly because I was having it carpeted the following week. Someone came out the same day and installed it in less than an hour and 30 minutes. First of all, the step looked great and I couldnt believe how quickly he was able to finish it. Second, he was extremely flexible with coming back to my home later in the day because I had a doctors appointment. Lastly, I loved that the company sent me a text with the installers picture and time of arrival so that I knew who would be coming to my home. As a single mother and homeowner, this was an important detail because I am cautious of having men working in and outside of my home. The installer was very professional and I appreciated his diligence.

Replaced an under-counter farmhouse sink which had cracked and was leaking. Original installers would not touch it, plumbers would not touch it, other handymen would not touch it because they were scared they would crack the stone counters while completing the job. GCs would not do it because the job was too small. Then I remembered Mr. Handyman, who did a great job installing two basement windows for us years back. Again, they came through and did a great job. Extremely helpful, and Dean who did the job was excellent and extremely professional. Would not hesitate to use them again.

The best handymen, hands down. I have had them come for so many projects from little ‘honey do’ items to major construction and they are ALWAYS great. All their guys are professionals - carpenters, painters, handymen, etc - and they do the job the right way. And the office staff is super responsive and helpful. They are not the cheapest, but they are up front on pricing (you can do the math yourself) and it’s worth the price. When I’ve tried to go cheaper in the past, the work wasn’t as good, and I’ve only had to call these guys to fix it a few months later. They are the BEST.

I called Mr. Handyman for a list of items to be fixed in the house. A gentleman named Dean came sharp at 8 in the morning. While we were reviewing the to-do list, we realized my first floor bath shower was leaking water. He jumped on identifying the leak first, then tightened the joints and finally sealed the sink area. Then he moved onto my original list. After a whole day of work including running to stores to purchase materials, Dean completed a brand new looking screen door, installed 3 motion sensor lights, added 2 layers of shelves to my closet, patched up dry wall in the bathroom and gave me a shower that no longer leaks. He also provided many valuable suggestions and ideas on my other items. I cant wait for him to come back and complete the rest of my list. The handyman work is not cheap, whats important is quality and done right the first time!!! Dean is also working on a solution for my decking and I cant wait for that job to start. Will come back to report on that experience!

After finding Mr. Handyman, I’ve completed 4 projects with them. I started with a pretty major repair to some damaged outside wood that had to be repaired before the Winter. That went very well, so I created a long list of items I hadnt been able to get to. They came back and professionally and expeditiously knocked off several challenges – refinishing some damaged stairs, bathroom drywall repair, replacement of two complex windows, etc.My most recent job with them was a very big one. Half of my basement was damaged by water in Hurricane Sandy and I had been waiting to repair it because I wanted to gut the whole thing and rebuild it from the walls in. The job involved removing a bunch of paneling down to the cinder blocks, removing a hanging ceiling, adjusting a laundry area to a smaller footprint, moving ducts and pipes to accommodate the new design, putting in sheet rock walls and ceiling, installing new lights and breakers, redoing the floor, and a myriad of other details plus painting. It was a big job I had quoted with contractors before, but hadn’t gotten around doing. I’m happy to say the job was very smooth, of high quality, and exceeded my expectations.

He has a cat of his own so he knew exactly why I wanted a catio. We looked at a few pictures together and he designed an amazing catio for us. His workmanship and attention to detail was simply inspiring. He thought of every single place a cat could try and escape from and took care of it. I am truly so impressed by him. And while the work was being done, Ron provided regular updates on Mikes availability and assured us that they would complete the job in a decent timeframe. This is my first experience using a contractor without any personal recommendations.Contractor was not aware of local parking conditions in Hoboken and attempted to try and find parking for over an hour before giving up. I sympathize, however, the very same morning I had another contractor find parking with no issues. We rescheduled the schedule date where I paid for a permit to park in front of building with no further issues.The work scheduled went very well. It was to strip out old sheetrock and replace with new sheetrock, insulation, taping/spackling while replacing base molding. We added a second project on the spot which was to replace a standard shower head with a shower tower. All work was performed cleanly and efficiently as work is performed on a time and material basis. I consider overall price slightly high, however, feel its okay when you have a responsible contractor. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

If youre looking for help with a project big or small, we cant recommend Mr. Handyman enough! In particular, James K. is AMAZING and does excellent work.We recently moved into a new house, and had previously used Mr. Handyman for two small jobs: re-attaching the kitchen sink that had separated from the counter, and installing a new mailbox/mailbox post after it was destroyed by another contractor who backed into it. The Handymen we had used previously were so professional and good, we decided to use Mr. Handyman for another set of larger jobs.For this larger project, we needed help both inside and outside the house. Our list included (in part!): banisters installed in numerous places around the house (basement to first floor, first to second floor, and on the deck stairs), rotten steps replaced on the back porch, the basement staircase enclosed (it was completely open to the basement when we purchased the house), repairs performed to our bluestone front steps, and patching to some hairline cracks in the basement foundation.Ron, the owner of this Mr. Handyman, walked through our house with us and took careful notes regarding the work we wanted performed. Based on the fact that we needed work done on our bluestone steps and the basement foundation, Ron said he would send James K., the mason at Mr. Handyman, to perform our job.James was an amazing, dedicated worker, and we could not be happier with the final products. James enjoyed explaining exactly what he was doing at each step of the project. Over the course of the multi-day work, James regularly stayed late to complete work. James did an excellent job matching the paint and stain colors that were in use in various parts of our house, and the new banisters in particular look as though they have always been in our home.We are so pleased with the work James did- we are confident that the excellent workmanship on these numerous jobs will last a lifetime.
