We have used John Lucchese and his team at Design Unlimited for all of our interior and exterior painting over the course of 25+ years. We have tackled a number of interior and exterior improvement projects with John including the residing of our home, the preservation of our cedar roof, complete window replacement, deck railing installation and a remodeling of our basement. I have never been unhappy with the results of any project and I find John to be thoughtful, knowledgable and a conscientious professional for large projects and small. Happy to recommend Design Unlimited!

John Lucchese and his team have done several projects at my house over the past 10+ years including interior painting, exterior painting, power washing, and total replacement of the siding and windows of my house. His work is excellent and his pricing is fair. He is very accessible and responsive and is totally dedicated to doing a quality job. I recommend him without hesitation.

If you are looking for a professional, experienced, detailed oriented, top notch, friendly, hard working team to address your painting/carpentry needs, your search can end. Designs Unlimited just complete the exterior painting and repairing of my entire house and detached garage. The team is fantastic to work with. They are courteous, hard working, detailed oriented, respectful and just a pleasure to have around.Our house was fading and peeling. Construction was needed to replace wood, fix damage from mildew and animals, replace thin shingles and even replace screen doors. Every item they found that needed to be fixed, they addressed. Some companies might have just painted over these issues, but not Designs Unlimited.They know the value in doing the job right the first time. I speak from experience since this is second time we have had the entire exterior painted by Designs Unlimited. The first time was 24 years ago. Though they came back in 2003 for some touch-ups, there work stands the test of time (and we have very unique/rich colors on our house).This summer they transformed our house back to its original, beautiful exterior. We worked with Designs Unlimited to re-side our house with Hardee Board. In the process, they discovered several long-standing issues hiding under the old siding, and stabilized and rebuilt our front door / portico which was badly rotted. They also did a variety of other small fixes along the way, from fixing other rotted areas to replacing lights, interior and exterior painting, etc.We had a great experience with John and Steve. As new, first-time homeowners encountering a project that turned out to be bigger than wed anticipated, we really appreciated the time and care they took to make sure we understood our full range of options, tradeoffs we should consider, and why they were recommending what they were recommending. The quality of work was excellent, they were always highly responsive and easy to get in touch with, and pleasant to work with. When they found unexpected problems, like the fact that the front of our house was about to collapse, they helped us work through options for dealing with this added work in a way that balanced cost concerns with a shared desire to see the problem solved permanently rather than just patched. Since this work, theyve spent time with us assessing some other projects weve been considering around the house and helping us build out a long-term plan for how to get the house into the shape we want it to be in. We look forward to working with them again over the years.

DU did exterior painting, repairs to exterior window frames and installation of new shutters on our nearly 100-year-old house. Great job and each crew member had a field of expertise and did a great job. John worked alongside them and also perfectly coordinated our large project in spite of weather conditions and COVID. We would recommend highly and will use again for other projects.

As important was the quality of his work, he was easy to work with, and there was mutual trust (which was well- placed.) I recommend him without reservation. They take time to understand the project, and explain the alternatives. They do a fantastic job, treating us with utmost respect. We were thoroughly impressed with John and his crew. We needed carpentry work done, painting and our deck stained. John encouraged me to try a new stain for my Ipe deck and he was spot on! It has never looked better! They were responsive, detail oriented with excellent workmanship! We highly recommend!

While the work was completed one year ago, the home looks brand new. I also want to state that we had no complaints from neighbors, despite the long and highly demanding job.
