    Basement Systems installed new Themaldry plank vinyl flooring in our basement. It replaced rug that was over 24 years old. The quoting/sales/planning and installation process was executed flawlessly by all involved. Our installation had several hard to reach closets that were installed perfectly. The installation crew worked non-stop all day to complete the job. We have been a customer of Basement Systems for over 24 years and rely on them for professional advice and solutions. The price was competitive and the result speaks for itself. Love our new floor.

    Please find below my original review.I am updating from 2 to 4 stars and adding this info because I posted the same review on their website and within a day got a call from an executive in the company.He apologized profusely. We discussed that their processes either werent followed or failed to take into account the needs of this project. He promised me that whey would review what happened here and make matters right.He agreed that I should not have been billed the permit fee and was removing that charge.HE ALSO - told me that he would be sending me a check that would cover the extra closing cost that came about because of their mistake.I have to say. They have really bent over backwards to make things right after the fact.Mistakes happen. This is a quality company that is focused on customer satisfaction.*********************Original Review*********************We paid top dollar for a company that leads the industry.The workmanship was great.The processes around the work was not great.1) After the work was done, the bill included extra charges for permits that the sales rep didnt put in the quote. I short paid the bill and didnt hear back.2) They FAILED to close the permit required for the work. I didnt learn about this until the day before we were supposed to close on the sale of the house.This delayed the closing and cost me $600 because the buyer lost his rate lock.Workmanship was excellent. Everything else was not.When I called and asked to speak with a manager, I got voicemail. So I called back and asked to speak to someone else, and got their voicemail also.

    Connecticut Basement Systems recently finished a full renovation of our basement. From designing the new basement, to the demo, to installing the floor, walls, and painting, everything was done extremely well and we’re thrilled with the finished product. They were professional and timely and completed our project early (even when we asked for additional items). Despite being a sizable project, the crew minimized any impact on us (noise/disruption) including never leaving a mess. The team was responsive, professional, and trustworthy--I would definitely recommend!

    Connecticut Basement Systems has been a pleasure to work with. I’ve used them for my home and my Mom’s home. I was always afraid to finish my basement in case we ever had a leak, but they were able to do the job inclusive of waterproofing to give us peace of mind. The finish product has lasted for years and their annual service keeps the system running smoothly. We haven’t had one problem in over 8 years. I also had them finish the basement of my Mom’s house which had a severe leakage problem. They sealed it, finished it and implemented their water proofing solution which allowed us to sell the house with no concerns. I highly recommend the folks at Connecticut Basement Systems!

    We had a French drain, dehumidifier and sump pump put in by Connecticut Basement. The entire process was completely professional. Andrew, the sales consultant, did the initial proposal and reviewed the work the day after it was completed.     Connecticut Basement systems was astonishingly good. Given the cost of the investment, we asked many people about them and only heard raves. They are the only company that guarantees a dry basement. The team -- led by Allan Guglielmoni -- was first rate. Allan was highly professional and dealt with the challenges of installing the system in a very old house with aplomb. They worked quickly and cleanly, and it feels amazing to know that we are protected against the many sources of flooding during climate change. Im grateful to all of them.

    Bruce was professional, responsive and led a very efficient project overall. Our basement is now much cleaner with new flooring, bright wall, and a confined boiler space.     For years we have had water in our basement, and after two entire months with water - and having to manually plug in sump pumps day and night so the water didnt rise high enough to damage the furnace - we decided to have our basement waterproofed. The company I settled on was Connecticut Basement Systems, and I must say its probably the best company of ANY type weve ever come across.They sent us their sales literature, and not only is it gorgeously produced, but even better and more importantly, it actually tells whats causing the water problem, how CBS can alleviate problems, and what products they use to do so. I love that they have fixed prices, so theres no haggling and you know what youre getting. Transparent and clear information, and estimates and drawings were sent fast after our first meeting, and very clearly shown and explained.I have to single out Jimmy Stablein, our sales rep, who knew things backwards and forward, never tried to hard sell us, got all the paperwork done in no time flat, and followed through AFTER the job was done as well as leading up. There was a tiny hole in an underground pipe that needed replacing, so I called Jimmy and sent him pictures of water outside where it shouldnt have been...and within literally 15 minutes we got a call and an appointment was set for assessment and repair. That happened today, and I once again tested the system and the leak is fixed.Every person at this company showed amazing competence, respect, kindness, and dedication to getting the job done right. I cannot thank Connecticut Basement Systems enough...and again, I thank Jimmy for being there from start to finish.If you need basement waterproofing, Connecticut Basement Systems is an incredible company and you will be more pleased than you can imagine.(and for the first time in my life, Im hoping for rain because I really want to see this system performing in all its glory!)

    I love this company. They have superior customer service. I initially got a quote that was too expensive for me and went with another company my insurance covered. That company incorrectly diagnosed and made more problems. I got so much good feedback from CT Basement Systems that I decided to circle back to them and bite the bullet. They had a billing department that worked with me to pay the balance. They completed the job and at first it was insufficient to handle all the water. They didn’t hesitate to come correct the issue and ensure I was happy. Fingers crossed but I have not flooded since they installed their final system. I recently had annual service and the guy was so professional and went above and beyond. I had annual service scheduled but there was a big storm a few days prior and I felt my pump was running for too long. I called and they sent a technician same day. That technician went above and beyond to perform the annual service that day so I wouldn’t have to pay twice and everything would be clean and handled/ fixed that day. He also took detailed pictures and cleaned the pumps well and my garage smelled so good afterwards. They are always willing to help and are nice and respectful to customers.

    Refinishing a basement is expensive so it needs to be done correctly. CT Basement Systems created a space more beautiful than we had ever imagined possible.     I met with Mark Krasnickas, the sales representative, at my home. He did a thorough inspection of my family room and garage, where all the water damage was. He also inspected all around the outside of my home. He was very knowledgeable, explained everything to me until he was certain I understood. He showed me exactly what was needed, what each piece of equipment was needed, how it would be installed, and what each part of the job would cost me. After my decision to proceed with the full job, Mark walked me through the financial process and assisted me with the paperwork.Once the job started, the foreman Marcial and his assistant Tucker were on time, efficient, explained what they would be doing, and approximately how long the job would take. Every step of the process was completed to my satisfaction.I am very happy with CT Basement Systems and the work they have done for me. I would highly recommend them again & again.

    The three man crew arrived right on time and immediately scoped out the project, gathering all the layers of material needed, and got to work. They were diligent despite the heat and humidity that we were experiencing. They took great care with our basement as they worked to seal the two crawl spaces. They had us check on their progress each step of the way. Their work was excellent. They cleaned up their work area, swept and vacuumed the area, and removed any trash.     CT Basement Systems is excellent. My basement used to have a stream running through it when we had a rain storm. And the mold on the granite block foundation in my basement was so bad I could feel it in my lungs as soon as I started down the stairs. Since I had the system installed, none of that is true anymore. Also, the white surface of the fabric that covers the walls makes my basement lighter and brighter. Every summer they come and maintain the system so its always in good working order. If it rained for 40 nights and 40 days, Im sure my basement would stay dry.

    Just had a complete basement system put in, including walls and a waterproof floor. They came in 3 different days to complete each part of the system and it was seamless. There wasn’t a huge mess to clean after they left, and while they were here, they were respectful of the rest of my house. The system is working great, we even feel giddy when we hear the sump pump running! It’s such a relief to know we don’t have to worry about water in our basement again!

    They just finished installing a full perimeter drainage system with a sump pump. The system is simple, but seems awesome. The crew was friendly, worked fast, diligent, and hard.     After getting several quotes, we decided to go with CT Basement Systems Dr. Energy group to install new attic insulation in our home. They were not our least expensive option. But, after a careful review of their scope of work, we concluded theirs was the most comprehensive and complete scope. Our home has a hip roof (pitches four ways) with very little headroom in the attic. Theres enough room to crawl around on all fours but you cant stand up. Their crew (Rudy, Jay and George) did an outstanding job for us. They were professional, very courteous and super diligent. They went about their business with zero complaints about how tight the working area and kept working until the job was done. Were extremely pleased with the quality of their work and highly recommend them. Thanks Dr. Energy and a special thank you to Rudy, Jay and George for a job well done!

    Great experience from the minute I received a call from their office staff, to Bill my rep coming out multiple times when I had more questions on my basement issues. I really liked that I also left the whole experience very educated in basement solutions because their first priority is teaching their customers about basements and providing full transparency on the process. The staff that came to my house to do the work were wonderful, very courteous and took me step by step through the process the whole time. The foreman and his team worked hard a long day to accomplish the job, even when we found a hurdle (large rock and slate hiding under my basement floor) as the work was being done. When I called her two weeks ago, she helped me figure out how to push something that allows the sump pump to discharge water. But, she explained that it may be not working on its own.     Replaced a sump pump motor that was still working but was well past its expected lifespan (it’s not the kind of thing you wait to fail). Also had check valves installed on all 3 discharge pipes to eliminate water hammer. Customer service and tech personnel were prompt, professional and courteous. Very fair prices. Highly recommended.Edited: Basement flooded just a few days later. I initially panicked when I saw that neither pump in a double sump basin were working but that was replaced with aggravation when I realized that both pumps had been left unplugged. Called CTBS to complain and was told pumps are always tested after work is done so it wasn’t them. However, no one except me had been in the basement since they left so you do the math. I understand that mistakes happen and would’ve let it go if they’d said, “I’ve never heard of that happening before, I’m really sorry.” but their unwillingness to own their mistake (and insinuation that I must’ve done it and was trying to blame them) has soured my opinion.

    We moved into our home almost two years ago. Our home had an existing system put in by Connecticut Basement Systems. When it came to servicing the sump pump all technicians who came out were professional, knowledgeable and honest. They were always upfront about what was needed to upkeep our system – always offering it as an option, never forcing anything but explaining valuable information as to why these changes and / or upgrades would be helpful.Last summer with the two hurricanes that hit the Northeast we had flood water in our basement. As a result, Connecticut Basement Systems had to come by several times starting in August and continuing through this past week. While I write this review of CT Basement Systems as a company – I truly write it to mention field supervisor Daniel Oestreich who we have worked with since August. Daniel is not only the most knowledgeable and skilled technician who has come to our home but one of the kindest people I’ve met. He has truly gone above and beyond explaining in so much detail everything that could help out our wet basement. He has been honest about what products would work best and what wouldn’t be as helpful. He has been patient as my husband and I ask question after question to fully understand our basement and property as a whole. Our basement is on its way to becoming the DRY play room and family space that we have been hoping for.     Sergio and Jacob did an amazing job reinforcing the foundation and lifting the upper levels and staircase of our lovely old farmhouse. We had depression in the center of our house of about 2 inches after some renovation, which caused our staircase to become lopsided too. In about 3 hours, they installed 5 adjustable jacks and a beam in the basement. Then they made two adjustments and used a level to measure the improvement upstairs. They were able to eliminate most of the softness in the center of the house and reduce some of the unevenness of the staircase. They’re coming back in 3-4 months to do another adjustment to eliminate more of it. The work was professional from start to finish. They put plastic up so I wouldn’t get dust everywhere, and they vacuumed and cleaned up beautifully once they were done. Everyone at the company is wonderful to deal with, from my salesperson, Tim Kane, to the production and installation crew. This company isn’t cheap but they are worth the cost. They guarantee their work and make adjustments for 5 years after installation if there’s additional settlement. That peace of mind is priceless.

Foam in the kneewall rafters and cellulose in the attic. They removed 40 year old balsam insulation and the fiberglass from the attic before the installation. Cleanup was great. Not cheap, but my heating and cooling use is down.

    I highly recommend this company, as they are amazing!! When I moved into my house there was already a Connecticut Basement Systems trench and sump pump system in my house (installed almost 20 years ago from the records). After finishing our basement 2 years ago I noticed that there was some water coming up through the floor, I called Connecticut Basement Systems to come out and take a look, upon arrival the service tech, Steve couldnt have been nicer, he did testing and showed me that there was a lot of hydro static pressure coming from the slab. He took the time to explain everything to me and he recommended what he thought would fix the issue without overselling me, you could tell he was trying to save me money the whole way. Quickly, they were able to schedule the feed lines installation. On the day of the install the foreman, Cisco and his team showed up and from the start and they were outstanding. Cisco was truly amazing, he took the time to look over the entire existing set up again and noticed that after all the rain the night before, one of the sections of the trench wasnt draining properly. He and his great team got to work and dug the new trenches for the feed lines, upon finishing his digging he called me downstairs to show me that his assumption was right and the one section of the existing perimeter trench wasnt draining properly and that was causing water to come out of the side onto the floor. He fixed the whole thing and added the new feed lines to help with the hydrostatic pressure. They were done in less than 2 hours and when they left everything was spotless and looked perfect. After he left I received a call from Accounting letting me know that all of the work was covered under warranty due to the incorrect pitch from the existing trench that was performed 20 years ago. This just shows that this company really does stand behind their work for the lifetime of the house! They turned what could be a stressful, water issue into a stress-free and quick process. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has water issues in their basement.

Im happy with the work CT Basement did today stabilizing a compromised foundation wall that had been poured without footings. Geo locks in lieu of push piles - a HUGE savings, these are the guys that offer them.     Our recent experience with CT Basement Systems has been incredible and thus far above and beyond expectation. Chuck Stofko visited our home and did a thorough assessment of the job. He noticed some potential concerns and checked with his team to make sure the job could be done properly before committing to a quote. Chuck clearly explained the work that would be completed, how long it would take and when they could do it answering all questions. Chuck and Ross were incredibly fair after I had pointed out an opportunity for an additional advertised discount after Chuck had already offered a very reasonable and fair quote for the work. The work was scheduled as quickly as possible. A real WOW experience!

    Two major rain storms in two months raised the water table in our neighborhood and water bubbled up from under the basement slab both times. We were referred to Don Godbout and he was able to schedule an appointment with us sooner, rather than later. We signed our contract on Jan. 31 for a partial basement repair and Don emailed us first thing the next morning with a March 18 install appointment. On Feb 14 we received a call from Tonya asking if they could do the install the next day! The crew of 4 arrived promptly at 10am when they said they would and got right to work under the direction of Garfield. They were careful to cover the floors and hang additional plastic coverings on the shelving in the work area. They worked efficiently and were driving away in just under 5 hours. The work area was left clean and organized. Garfield explained the work that was done and the new equipment installed.

    We have used CT basement systems twice. The first time they installed a dehumidifier in our basement to reduce moisture that had gotten in through the foundation. We were very satisfied with this project. The dehumidifier has worked well and solved our damp basement problem. Installation was quick and easy. The project was a bit pricy but has solved our problem and thus has been worth it.However, we contacted CT basement systems for a second project and have had a less positive experience. We had them quote us to encapsulate and outdoor crawl space. The salesperson gave us a quote, we paid the deposit, and scheduled the project. The workmen who came out were great but right away told us the project could not be completed as quoted without causing future damage. I really appreciated their transparency. That was great. The issue was that the salesperson promised a new quote and after 6 weeks with occasional inquires from me asking for the status of the new quote I was repeatedly told they were working on it. Now after 6 weeks with no new quote I have requested a refund of my deposit (since no work was completed) and they obliged which I also appreciate. The company has reached out for my feedback and is looking to remedy the problems I experienced for future customers. I do appreciate this.

    From start to finish, the project (home gym) went incredibly smoothly, and the final product was even better than I hoped.     I was skeptical at first using this company because I didn’t know anyone that used them. I was assured by the salesman that I was dealing with a top notch company and he was absolutely right! Starting from the very first day when I got a call from the foreman on the job, Sergio telling me that he would be there in 20 minutes and arrived on time. Moving forward he walked me through every step of the job. I was given a 6 day window to complete the job and he and his crew did it in 4 days. He and his crew were professional, courteous, respectful and knowledgeable. Watching Sergio direct his crew was amazing to see he was patient and explained things to them every step of the way.     Absolutely incredible experience. I had just taken over the condo because my wife had passed away and I had open heart surgery within weeks of that. Completely confused unable to think straight but I knew I needed insulation in the Attic of this condo took over. My wifes. Salesman Keith came out and he assured me he would help me out through the whole ordeal even though I was unable to think straight. After that the everything fell in place properly .. a UI audit was done set up by then. After Keith Dom Rafael.     Don’t know where to start. Excellent experience from the start. Staff, crew, everyone super friendly and ready to explain anything in great detail. They also have handy info to read on your own time. The workmanship is impeccable - crew was polite, hardworking, and cleaned up beautifully. Through all the recent downpours in July 2023, and living on a slope where lots of water hits my home, basement is DRY DRY DRY! Best home improvement decision I’ve ever made. And thrilled I chose All Things Basementy!!! I won’t get the terminology correct without looking at invoice, but work included excavating perimeter of cement floor in basement, installation of what I describe as a gutter, cementing it over and covering all rock foundation walls with that thick plastic sheeting. They also installed a sump pump and dehumidifier. I tell you, total transformation!! I’m so happy!!! Love them!

    I called Connecticut Basement Systems to perform maintenance on my sump pump system and fix the heavy-duty dehumidifier I purchased through them. The technician, William (Bill) Hause was early to my appointment. He worked in a clean and efficient manner and educated me on how my system works. He worked on the sump pump and swapped out the dehumidifier with a newer one. At the end of his visit, I booked an appointmen for service for next year.     Rudy Abel & his team came to the house perfectly on time to install insulation for the basement and the attic. They had their work cut out for them with the attic, but did a wonderful job between the 3 guys. Very thorough and clean - they made sure to keep dirt and dust away, and vacuumed when they were done. My pup was in the house with me and a bit scared with all the commotion, yet Rudy and his guys were very gracious with him. They talked to him and pet him whenever they could.Not to mention the insulation looks great and I can feel the difference in the house. 1000% recommend!

    Cisco Berrios and his crew came out to my house and I cannot say enough great things about them! They called ahead to let me know they were on their way. Once they arrived Cisco walked me through the work they were going to do again. They blocked off the basement area so they would keep dust out of the house. They were super efficient with their work and were able to complete the project sooner than I expected. They did a great job of cleaning everything up along the process to keep my floor clean. Once they were done Cisco gave me another walk-thru showing me what they did and answered any questions I had. 10/10 service.Mike Pale, the Connecticut Basement Systems electrician, came out shortly after to get us set up with some new dedicated outlets for our Pumps/Sedona Humidifier.     Some time ago, we had spoken with Connecticut Basement Systems some time ago but decided against the installation as its an expensive solution.Then during the summer of 2021 we experience 3 devastating floods in our basement, one of which was over a foot of water. We knew we needed to take steps at this time. We reached back out to CBS as well as some other vendors and got updated quotes. While CBS wasnt the least expensive, they were the most professional. They listened to our concerns regarding performance and price. They explained their recommendations and why certain other proposals may not be as safe.On the day of the installation, the team showed up promptly and got to work. The amount of work they were able to accomplish in the 3 days they were on the job was amazing, and they left the basement just as clean as it was when they arrived. They were even able to add some additional services on the fly, as we saw something that we missed during the initial consultation (a drain under a basement window.We ended up with a full basement french drain system as well as the full height wall waterproofing, 2 sump pumps and a dehumidifier. The work is solid and looks very good.Since the system was installed, we have experienced several very strong storms with large amounts of rain. For days after the storms, we could hear the pumps sending the water away and protecting our basement. Despite all of the rain and local flooding, our basement has stayed bone dry.The system was not cheap, but the peace of mind we have gained during even the worst rainfall is well worth what we paid. Our dream of finishing part of the basement is now very much alive and well as we are confident that the flooding will not return. We would highly recommend Connecticut Basement Systems.

    Chuck visited my home today to review my options for waterproofing my home and provide an estimate for the costs. He was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions I asked.EDIT on October 2 -- Chuck returned two months later to address some new questions that came up after his first visit. After scheduling the second appointment with him, TS Ophelia dropped nearly seven inches of rain on our area, and there were some new developments with the water problems affecting my home. I described my observations and Chuck was unbiased and honest in his assessment of the problems and his suggestions as to how I might proceed. While I am not ready to proceed yet, I highly recommend Chuck and intend to use Connecticut Basement Systems if I ultimately do make the changes inside my home.

    Fantastic company!! We did a partial basement remodel that was basically an “in law suite”, to create more space for our disabled adult daughter. It’s difficult to envision what you want in an unfinished dirty basement. Mick came out initially to explain the process and get an idea of what we were hoping to achieve. After signing on with them, their project manager Eamon came out to measure and go over the original blueprint with us. He was fantastic in presenting us with different design options, and we tweaked it along the way. It can be a very stressful process and he always put us at ease on those occasions! Mike the foreman was also great and very detail oriented. Everyone who worked on the project, including Noah, Jacob and Steve the Plumber, was awesome! They were all professional, courteous and respectful of both us and our property. The end project came out better than we had imagined and Eamon came by for a walk through to make sure everything was perfect and that we were pleased. Pleased is an understatement because we are thrilled with the end result! This needed to be perfect for our daughter to feel like she has her own place, which is also the best option for us to keep her at home. The added benefit is how cool and comfortable the basement is over the summer months, decreasing the run time of our window AC units.     My sales representative, Jeff, was good, professional. I have known Larry Janesky and his associate for many years through personal activities outside of work. I hold a great deal of respect for the work they do and the quality of products they install. Once my dehumidifier was installed it was obvious I had received a quality piece of equipment that will keep my workshop dry and my shop equipment rust free finally. My only point of discontent was the production (installation) team. I received a window of time on the day of installation they would arrive. My wife was the only one home at the time and happened to be in the shower when they arrived. When the doorbell rang she got downstairs as quickly as possible but the truck was already pulling away. She called the production department but was informed we would have to reschedule. My wife rescheduled for the next day but the next day had to leave after waiting for an extended period of time waiting for the team to arrive. We were then rescheduled for an appointment almost two months later. I offered to pick the dehumidifier up myself and install it since it was merely a simple hole drill through the wall to run a 3/8 pipe and plug it in. I was denied. On the final day of installation the installer was very nice but arrived at the end of the four hour window for arrival to install the dehumidifier. He brought the unit in and had it installed in under half an hour. In summary I would still recommend Larry Janesky and his Basement Systems however I would strongly recommend a revamp of the scheduling and installation department especially on smaller job/unit installations.

    Technician Bruce was amazing!!! We just moved into a house with the CT Basement waterproofing system. Bruce came out to perform our annual service and I am thrilled with the results. Bruce took the time to teach me about the system, explaining how it works, how to maintain it, and what to look out for in the event something goes wrong.     Had Chuck from CT Basement Systems visit our home in NY today. Extremely professional and courteous. Provided excellent guidance on what our issues were (and what they werent) and recommended some things to be mindful of going forward. Definitely recommend you ask for him when making appointments as he demonstrated high credibility in terms of solutions from his own experience.

    We used Dr. Energy Saver, a division of Connecticut Basement Systems, two insulate our 1926 brick home. We could not be happier with the experience and the final result. After listing my project on HomeAdvisor, Keith responded to my inquiry within minutes and set up an appointment to come see our project the following day. He was prompt, professional, and incredibly patient explaining all of the various options for our project. He developed a quote on site, and I had a formal proposal before he left my driveway. In the weeks following, how he answered many questions thoroughly and patiently as we made our decision. The insulation crew was just as communicative and professional. They were friendly, prompt, and they left the place cleaner than they found it. The temperature in my attic immediately dropped 15° On that hot July day, and Now in February I have yet to turn on the heat in our new attic space. We have been very happy overall with the quality of installation, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone doing a similar project. Great work, and a great experience!

    The spring and summer rain this year in Connecticut was problematic for my basement as on moderate rain storms, water would routinely run down the stairs of my bulkhead and through the seal at the base of my basement door. This would cause large puddles to form in my basement which required hours of cleanup with a wet vac and mop. I hired Connecticut Basement Systems to come in and fix my problem forever. I saw their video on YouTube and that’s how I found them. I made an appointment for a consultation and then a couple of week later I had my project scheduled. They installed a floor drain into a sump pump system with triple redundancy (three separate pumps on different power circuits, one is a battery backup) and while they were here I added an engineered dehumidifier that drains into the sump pump basin. This system is engineered for performance. The workmanship is great. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and cleaned up the whole area when they finished.This job is also done in two parts, the drainage system installation and the electrical which is scheduled for completion after the first of the new year. So my current installation is up and running on temporary power (I.e., extension cord that powers two pumps). the permanent installation will involve hard wiring to the electrical box. Obviously the battery backup powered pump is up and running. I would recommend this company if you want to solve this problem once and for all. #ConnecticutBasementSystems
