    Norris Mechanical has always treated us right. We had a A/C problem. We called first thing and they were here by 11:00 that morning.     In the 1980s I was building a cottage and had Hersey Norris install a heat pump. It lasted approx. 30 years, which is unbelievable. It finally quit in July, 2018, hottest time of the year. I contacted Norris Mechanical and they installed a new system at my convenience . Two Techs installed it in one day. Thanks for a job well done.March 8, 2022 - Since Norris Mechanical installed my heat pump they have been doing the tuneup on a regular basis. Joe just did my tuneup and I am very please with service received. What I like most is they give you the date and a narrow time frame that the tech will be arriving. They have been excellent for the past three years. Keep up the good work.

    We asked for a quote for a new HVAC last week & were really impressed with the prompt, professional service. Our new unit was installed two days ago and the indoor comfort of our home has improved nicely. The installers, Heath, Ricardo & Ryan did a great job. They took great care with our home as they worked. Drop clothes were put on the stairs & floors before starting to remove the old equipment & install the new unit.     I love Norris mechanical! I called Monday about my dryer vent, there is a bird in the vent and wanted the vent cleaned as well. They sent a nice young man over to assess and today 2 young men came to get the birds nest and clean the vent. The technicians are friendly, polite and did more than I even asked. They shortened the dryer vent for efficiency. We lived in Kitty Hawk and they serviced our units at our old house and replaced an A/C unit. Thanks for the prompt professional service.

    Justin was very professional and polite. He found we had issues with out outside unit, so called in an emergency call to have someone come out to repair it. He advised my husband what had to be done. Jackson came out about 2 hours later and was able to find the issues & make the repairs. Jackson also was polite, professional, & articulated what he did and what will need to be done in the future and why. Norris Mechanical techs are on time, do their job well & the company has reasonable pricing. I recommend Norris for your HVAC and water heater needs.

    It was great dealing with the two technicians that came to my house. On a Friday morning I started having issues with my outside compressor and Norris was the first company able to respond. I can’t recall the name of the tech that showed up on Friday. But he was able to quickly troubleshoot my system and provide a fix. A few hours after he left my system was having issues again. So Scott came out Monday afternoon and acknowledged my suspicion that my condenser was fried. Although he wasn’t able to get it up and running again, he did try a few different things. But the unit kept tripping the breaker and burning wires. Through Scott I was able to get a fast quote on a replacement system. Still working on getting a few more quotes. But my dealings with the technicians at Norris Mechanical where great. I would be happy to call them again.

    We had a great experience with Norris Mechanical Services. Hersey Norris knows his products well, and has a great team to support him. It was very helpful to have Mr Norris come over and conduct the review for estimate since he not only performed a very thorough review, but was able to match or better price his quote when other estimates were compared. The install crew was well trained and very professional. Kevin and Rumo as well as the others completed the install of two systems for us in one day, so we were not left in a cold home overnight. Their work was outstanding. We highly recommend that you include Norris Mechanical in your HVAC needs. They are fair, honest and hard working, and Mr Norris is a man of his word.     Scott came today he was able to find small leak in our coil. He is very knowledgeable and explained everything. He recharged our system to hopefully get us thru till next week when they will install a new coil. Scott also came last fall and checked out our unit. Again very knowledgeable with excellent customer service. I will always feel comfortable calling Norris for my systems needs, because of Scotts service!

    Always professional, always responsive and excellent technical skills. Recently our thermostat broke when the temperature hit the 30’s on the Outer Banks and we lost all heat on one of our levels. Norris Mechanical was out within the hour to fix a faulty capacitor and got the heat back up and running. This is just one recent instance-there have been other emergencies over the years we’ve been with Norris where they’ve had the same prompt service.

    Heath and Ezekiel were Awesome. We had continuous plumbing issues that we had called multiple plumbers to diagnose and repair. They had us spend thousands on new septic lines that we did not need . Norris Mechanical came out and ran a camera through our main drain line and found our issue right away . They even repaired and replaced our line that was damaged in 3 places on a Saturday. Thank you so very much .

    When I initially called Norris Mechanical I needed a new heat pump and had multiple questions. I was directed to Mr. Hersey Norris who was able to immediately answer my detailed questions. He went out of his way to come to our house the same day to evaluate what was needed. He explained terms like SEER, HSPF, EER, BTU, and was familiar with documentation I would need for a tax credit. I appreciated the time he spent making sure I understood the differences in the products offered by TRANE and how it translated into efficiently heating and cooling our home. The next day we were given an estimate on three different systems. Once we chose the system it was promptly installed. Our installation team, Alfredo and Ricardo were very professional. Our heat pump was installed correctly and they made sure it was running efficiently before they left. Mr. Norris followed up the next day to show us the features of our new thermostat. My husband and I are very impressed with Norris Mechanical. They are prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and thorough.     “One of the best contractors”I had geo thermal HVAC installed two years ago by, what turned out be, a non-qualified geo thermal company. For two years I experienced operational problems with both units and extensive water leakage. I tried for two years to find an HVAC contractor who would trouble shoot my units and make repairs and corrections. No company wanted to touch the system since another vendor had conducted the installation. I finally found Norris Mechanical. Mr. Norris and one of his techs, Jason, came to my home and spent 3 hours trouble shooting and evaluating the installation. This was followed up by technician Rumo and his crew making significant modifications to the downstairs and upstairs ventilation. Rumo and Ryan then reconfigured all the water lines, adjusted the water flow to optimum performance and groomed both systems. I found all the team members of Norris to be professional, courteous, clean and respectful of our home. This is one of the best contractors I have dealt with and would encourage anyone to utilize their services.

    You Can Do No Better Than Norris Mechanical!Hersey, his installation crew and support staff worked seamlessly together to provide us with an above-and-beyond customer service to go along with an exceptional installation of our new HVAC system! After receiving quotes from four (4) OBX-based HVAC companies for a new HVAC system (air handler & heat pump replacement), we chose Hersey and Norris Mechanical. Why? Because Hersey listened and understood what we were really trying to accomplish better than all the rest.We started out by asking all the HVAC companies to estimate a HVAC job that would include:* Replacing the heat pump and air handler* Relocating the heat pump from one side of the house to the other, and* Moving the air handler out of a closet and into the atticBut what Hersey got (and none of the other companies did) is what we were really trying to do...restore the historical integrity of our mid-century beach cottage. Now with that insight, he suggested not only moving the heat pump and air handler, but also installing a brand new duct system in the attic (including cutting in eight [8] new registers. This gave us the ability to bring back the beamed ceilings throughout the house, which had been hidden under a clunky drop-down ceiling for nearly 20 years.Hersey also relocated our water heater to the other side of the house. So, when the dust settled he was able to move the entire HVAC system into attic, give us back our beamed ceilings, give us a larger heat pump than everybody else quoted and freed up two (2) closets for us. In a 1,000 sq foot cottage thats a BIG upgrade in storage space!     Norris Mechanical is great. They do quality work and the technicians are amazing. The problem with Norris Mechanical is the customer service from office. I have used Norris for all of my business and homes within the past 12mos totally $10’s of thousands in dollar amount and all of it is quality work with great response from the owner and Techs. The ladies in the office are extremely unprofessional and lack the capability to interact with any customer service edict or decently. Almost enough that I would consider changing HVAC companies to service the 7houses and over 10units that need to be serviced annually. In fact I will not contact the office again and all of my interactions will be with another company or with Hersey Norris himself.

The owner Mr. Norris personally comes out to estimate and then came out after the job to check on everything. No one does this any more. This is old school and the best way to keep your reputation exceptional. Cant say enough great thing about the job they did for me. At my request Norris tore out all duct, line set, etc. They installed new spiral sealed duct then insulated with R8 wrap and flex. Put in a new unit, ductwork, disconnects, breakers and condensate pipe. Perfect job and reasonable cost.Thank You Norris Mechanical!Another, Happy Cool Homeowner!
