    I was referred to Woodchips Construction from one of my clients. I was looking to have a cabin Airbnb built on vacant land. The Woodchips team worked with me, my designer, and architect every step of the way. I was nervous about the build, but the wonderful ladies in the office told me to trust the process and I did. Building from the ground up takes time, its not quick like you see on HGTV. There are bumps and hiccups. My wife and I put our trust in Woodchips and when it was all said and done Woodchips did not disappoint. I am planning on building again in the spring and you can bet I will be using Woodchips.

    I’ve been fortunate to have good experiences with contractors, but the Woodchips experience was about as good as you get. Challenging project to install a bathroom in a guesthouse studio that had all kinds of challenges and complications, but Rich and his crew hung in there, figured out creative way to work through the challenges.     I am not sure where to begin. Richard and the entire staff at Woodchips was FANTASTIC! They did an absolutely, amazing job with installing trench drains in my driveway. Patrick, Chris and Reese were phenomenal. They informed me about everything that needed to be done, all throughout the project. They were punctual, courteous, friendly and most of, extremely knowledgeable about what they were doing. Woodchips came to my rescue! I would truly recommend them for all of your home needs.

    We had Rich and his crew redoing our kitchen and they did an amazing job! They tackle every problem the right way, keeping us informed on everything that was going on. The crew of Woodchips Construction is really good at what they are doing, and they do an incredible job. The works run a little bit longer than the proposal, but this is something we were expecting with such a renovation.Looking forward to have them again for another renovation soon!

    I hired Woodchips construction for a demolition job on two homes in Orange County. When first meeting Rich, it quickly became clear to me that he was an extremely knowledgeable professional .He was not pushy and explained all of my options in an easy to understand way. He is personable and all my questions were fully answered. He is neither arrogant nor condescending.The verbal price I was quoted was fair and did not change when we signed contracts. At the completion of the job there were no surprise extras.From start to finish he kept me updated and was the liaison between the local building inspector and the environmental company that was required to complete the jobs. This took enormous pressure off of me and my family.While there are other knowledgeable contractors out there, it is hard to find one that you know in your heart that they are both honest and competent. Rich and Woodchips Construction is clearly both.When I called his office I talked with Eileen and she was also very professional and friendly. Any messages I left for Rich were returned promptly.Thank you Rich and Eileen for making this as easy as possible.     Okay heres my story, its a bit long but (spoiler alert), it has a happy ending. My first experience with Woodchips was back in 2005 when we discovered that a large addition to our home had structural damage and was beginning to collapse. This was a multifaceted job that would require lifting the addition in order to remove and replace a large support beam. The beam had rotted due to excess moisture in the crawlspace. Excavation work was needed in order to install new drainage around the foundation, and perimeter drains surrounding the property. A sump-pump had to be installed which meant some additional electrical work. All the insulation in the crawlspace was damaged and had to be replaced. The big room above then needed to be repaired with lots of plaster and paint (the 12 foot vaulted ceiling added an extra challenge). I almost forgot to mention that our back deck needed to be torn out for the drainage work so we needed to get a new one of those built too (oh how I wish I could forget). When we began interviewing contractors nearly all of them could only handle specific parts of the job. We would then need to hire different companies to get it all done. This way wouldve been much more expensive and a total nightmare to coordinate ourselves. Woodchips was the ONLY company that assured us that they could handle EVERY aspect of the job from start to finish. After meeting with the owner Rich, and looking at the many remarkable examples of past projects Woodchips had done both big and small, we knew that we found the right company to do the work. Rich is very cordial, knowledgeable and experienced, and it was also obvious that he takes great pride in the quality of the work that Woodchips does.It was winter and the Woodchips crew worked for many days on their backs in a very cramped and cold crawlspace, yet they were always amiable and professional. Even when a an unexpected problem came up, it was solved quickly and correctly. During the process I even got them to run all my speaker wires through the crawlspace and install individual surround sound speaker jacks in the walls of the room, how cool is that?!? After the winter work was done, they came back in the spring to put in the new deck and lay some cement.Now jump ahead a bunch of years. Two days before Thanksgiving and there is suddenly no running water in the house at all. After calling a number of plumbing establishments and getting no response, I called Rich in desperation. Woodchips was at our house the next day. They fixed the problem that day and saved the holiday.Its been nearly 12 years since the big room rescue and we would certainly hire Woodchips again without hesitation. If asked, we would recommend them highly to family and friends. I hear that Rich recently branched out into the foam insulation business, so I may have to check in with him about an upgrade (and maybe some more hidden home theater tricks too since theyll already be down there).

Fast, reliable and a very reasonable priced. The work that was performed in my house was excellent second to none.     This review is strictly on the kitchen cabinet painting portion of our contracted services...the cabinets are BEAUTIFUL!! the subs they used, Levato Painting are an amazing choice on the part of Woodchips. ONLY issue is that the painters never came out 2 look at job and it created quite a few delays and obstacles. That aside.. I am VERY content with my choice in Woodchips! They have an office staff that is VERY capable in customer service.. Lisa was/is one of the reasons I chose them as customer service is one of the most important qualities in a service company ..2nd only 2 quality of services! I WOULD ABSOLUTELY recommend them.

    I had Rich and his crew do an Ad a Level on my Ulster county ranch home and have to say they made the experience a breeze. They had my roof removed, the addition on and framed, windows in place, and shingles on the roof dried in in 2 days. Then they finished the rest of the project trim and siding included in less that 2 weeks. They worked non stop, everything was done to perfection and they cleaned up leaving the place neater than it was when they started. I highly recommend Woodchips Construction for any home improvement project.....

    I am Richards Dad. He built a house for my wife and myself 2 years ago. The house is amazing and we have no trouble with it. It was priced fairly and the work that was done was incredible. We would highly recommend Richard to anyone who needs work. I have noticed the bad comments that were posted by Michael Spoto. They are not true and he has all the wrong amounts for the pricing. His mother and I highly recommend him.

Jim, his son and Ralph couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. The remediation work they did corrected everything the original builder did wrong . We finally have our dream house !     My fiance and I decided to spend the money we had saved up for a wedding to instead build our dream home. We hired Woodchips Carpentry after meeting with him multiple times and examining his prior work-we felt he and his company were the people to build our home to our exact specifications! NO disappointment! His crew and subcontractors were all professional, courteous and we felt really CARED about the work they were doing. We constantly changed our minds on what we wanted and he always made sure our desires were met and even made some suggestions that were better than what we had in mind! Our entire process was acutally enjoyable versus all the nightmares you hear. He was always on top of every action item, delivered on time and we were in the house alot sooner than we had anticipated! We have since hired Woodchips for minor jobs around the house and every time they surpass our expectations!     Hi.Pleased to announce that Woodchips came yesterday and fixed my sons septic system leach field. My son and his neighbors (us ) are completely satisfied with the work and appreciate the rapid response. Special thanks to Mike and Donny for their excellent professionalism and integrity in resolving the problem. No more nasty smell!Highly recommend Woodchips for your construction needs.I’m a neighbor of a home that was built by WoodChips.I will be up front, my son is the neighbor.He has had several problems with the construction and has not gotten a concrete response or fix from WoodChips for any of the issues.My main concern at this time is the failed septic system. The leach field has never worked properly from the beginning and is now considered a health hazard.The smell has wafted to our house 200 yards away and the kids and family pets are in jeopardy of getting sick.This is a health risk and considered essential work.It needs to be fixed right away.

He was soooooooooooo nice and explained everything in detail to us. He took on our project, even though it was not a HUGE Project. Everyone else that Home Advisor gave me, either did not call back, once I told them what we wanted done, or they said, this is not what they do. Rich & his Team were AMAZING, and we were so pleased they accepted our project. The Team excavated all the brush, and planted premium bluegrass seed, now we have a beautiful lawn. Right from the beginning stages of meeting with the customer, discussing the needed work, working diligently on estimates with a sharp pencil to keep the costs where the customer can afford, having and using state of the art equipment and having the knowledge and ability for each phase of the job, and always being respectful to his customers and his crew.     I hired Woodchips Carpentry to build our custom dream home. The work was above any/all expectations, everything was done on time and the entire project took 6 1/2 months from breaking ground to moving in - exactly on time. Every area of construction the owner Rich sat down with me and found ways for us to save money so we could come in on budget. We loved their work so much we had them come back and build a custom patio for us as well. When it comes time to finish our basement, there will be only one phone call made. Rich and his team always has the homeowners best interest in mind and he takes pride in his work.
