    This Old Wood let me pick out the wood and like magic a few weeks later fabulous shelves appeared. The wood is so beautiful and the shelves make the room.Note: I added a steampunk brace for support due to my walls as the floating shelf bracket are hooked to some studs but not many.

    I reached out to This Old Wood to have them make a custom gate for the bottom of my stairs, to keep my dogs from going up there and they exceeded my expectations. From beginning to end, the team at TOW was amazing.Jeff came out to take measurements and talk about what I was looking for and what I was wanting style/look wise. Zack reached out to send photos of the finished product and talk about stain colors, etc and schedule installation.Jose showed up promptly on the day/time of installation and was so friendly and professional. They just do such great work!I’m so happy with the way this turned out and I’m already looking around my house for future projects I want them to do :)

    Jeff and his crew were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process. This was our first endeavor in reclaimed wood and we had tons of questions, but all were addressed without a lot of jargon. We had a simple project redoing the standard fireplace mantel and it came out perfect. I will be back for future projects and I highly recommend This Old Wood.

    We are absolutely blown away by our farm table, thanks to the incredible craftsmanship of Jeff and his team. We have received so many compliments, and we could not be happier with our new piece. Jeff exceeded our expectations, and it was such a pleasure to work with him. We loved visiting the shop, and the best part was discovering that Jeff is originally from our hometown, Baltimore!The entire experience was such a fun and positive one, and we now have a table that we absolutely love and are so proud of. Hats off to This Old Wood.

    Knowledgable, Creative, Passionate and Generous. Jeff and his team are fabulous! As someone who highly values my time, I was honestly shocked at how willing they were to give me theirs. They patiently walked me all through their entire yard (twice - brought my wife back) while pointing out options of raw, reclaimed lumber. Afterward, we went up to the shop where they showed me multiple levels for finishing each type. They had great suggestions for my project (master bed, headboard, footboard), shared the work with me (I did some, they did some), and even gave me tips and tricks on how to get it done. Fabulous experience - I almost hate to share them! Oh...and there was a miscommunication along the way which resulted in two pieces needing to be replaced. Jeff wouldnt charge me extra for the work (when I clearly owned some of the responsibility for it), so I insisted on buying them lunch. WOW - Thanks Guys - looking forward to more projects in the future!

    Highly recommend this place if you are looking for reclaimed wood for your project. I stopped by to look for a unique piece to make a cheese board. Met Jeff and he was great. He hooked me up with a scrap piece of pine and ran it through the wood planer for me. Definitely will be back for some reclaimed wood for my next big project. Tons to choose from.

    We made an appointment to look for wood to make two shelves and it was an amazing experience! Jeffrey and his assistant walked us through the lumber yard and talked to us about the history of all the wood, how it’s procured, where it came from, etc. You can tell Jeffrey is passionate about this business and it was so fun to see that passion while he talked to us. He also showed us around the shop and explained all the cool things he and his team made while his assistant cut our wood to the exact size and loaded it in our car for us. My only regret is not knowing this place existed sooner! Theres no need to purchase wood at a big box store when Jeffrey will,have exactly what you’re looking for!

    They are amazing!! Totally recommend them! The wood pieces are stunning, really beautiful! They try and keep track of where the wood came from, and how old it is, etc. It was super cool to be able to tell my clients a little bit about the history behind their 120 year old piece, that will be the mantel on their fireplace! And Jeff is great, he helps with design ideas, stain colors and/or finishing suggestions, he really works hard to make sure clients are happy, I can tell he really cares! Also prices are reasonable, I work for a remodeling company and we will definitely continue to use them for future projects!

    I went to This Old Wood to find wood to create a desk that would bring me joy. As we looked at different wood, I was directed to an old reclaimed bowling lane. I had to have it. My dad was an avid bowler, I just lost him to Covid. My grandfather wrote a bowling column in their small town paper, and my uncle was a bowling writer and his wife a pro-bowler.I was wanting a custom shape to fit my job tasks and a specific corner of my home. I drew up the shape and the guys got to work. The first run on the desk was cracking between boards and things just werent right. The original carpenter had left the company...but...They came and picked up the desk and another carpenter took a look, did research on the type of wood and behavior and inserted steel beams hidden underneath. I cannot imagine the hours he spent making sure the desk was done right. They returned the desk looking WAY better than the first time, and I didnt know that was possible. It had a smoother finish and was gorgeous.They stood behind the work, went to extra lengths to make it perfect for me and to add in the sit-stand legs I had on hand.I love this desk. I love it every day, and I get to think of my dad a lot when I appreciate it too. Thanks This Old Wood.

    Have you ever had such a good experience with a business that you wished you had a need to keep buying from them? Thats been my experience with This Old Wood.Were in the middle of a mold remediation/rebuild project that has exploded in so many ways. One unplanned part of this project was to completely rebuild/replace our existing wood burning stove. The new design called for 2 pieces of reclaimed wood for a 2-sided mantel.The guys at This Old Wood took a lot of time to teach me wood world lingo and wrap my head around what was needed. I ended up finding one piece at another location, but still needed a second piece with a lot of specific measurements. I met up with Zack at the yard and we walked all of the planks until we found the right piece.He took the time to trim the piece up so I could have my local sawmill finish the work. I really appreciate the time and consideration Zack gave me. Thank you!

    Ive been looking for an old rustic wood beam for my house for months and found the beam of my dreams at This Old Wood.I worked with Jeff, who was very helpful, showed me all the different options for the beam I was looking for, and didnt get annoyed when I wanted to look at one from the bottom of the stack.Once I picked my beam, he sanded to help the saw patterns come out, cut it to the length I needed, and helped load it in my car. The prices were excellent, especially considering the quality of the piece I purchased.Jeff was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and passionate about what he does. I couldnt have been happier with my experience and Im already thinking of how I can use some of their wood in my next projects.

    My wife and I were looking for a “rustic” piece of wood to use as a fireplace mantle. We drove out to This Old Wood. We were greeted by the owner Jeff quickly and he helped us find the perfect piece. Jeff knew the history of the wood (from a Pre-Civil war barn in Indiana) and was extremely patient while we looked at multiple pieces of wood. He cut it to the size we needed and even loaded it up for us. I’m going back soon for some vintage corrugated metal. Thanks Jeff

    My in-laws found This Old Wood back when they were located just out of Dripping Springs and have loved their experience for past DIY’s and projects. They were eager to recommend this place when we started building our tiny home. We came today looking for reclaimed wood for shelving in our kitchen and closet space. We were very impressed with their stock and customer service. William was very patient as we discussed our options and walked through the entire lot. He pulled out board after board to find what we were looking for. We walked away satisfied with our kitchen shelving, and empty handed for the closet space for now. We might return later or find another more cost effective option. The only reason I have given four stars, is the price point is rather high. We left with completely raw, barn wood to finish out ourselves and still paid high dollar. Again, this was definitely a good experience and I would definitely recommend This Old Wood to anyone. Just be prepared to spend a little more than you might anticipate!

    This crew of reclaimed wood experts and craftsmen are top notch. Over the last couple years, they have completed several projects for me: built-in office desk and shelves made of wood from an old Elgin power plant; a backsplash for my TV made of wood flooring recovered from an old house in Austin and the floorboard of a hog barn; a bathroom vanity; and kitchen shelves. I know working with reclaimed wood requires special skills and patience. These artisans really love what they do, and you can see it in their finished work. Highly recommend

    If you are looking for a custom piece from beautiful reclaimed wood with a story, this is the place to go. The first time we met Jeff, he showed us his operation and all the reclaimed wood they have collected. He could tell us where most of it came from. You could tell there was a lot of pride in their work. We had a bathroom vanity made. The communication was spot on. He made sure we were satisfied with the end result, which was a beautiful vanity with a historical story of the wood. Jeff was a pleasure to work with. They are working on another project, a fireplace mantel for us, and it probably wont be the last.

    There were so many options to choose from, but I was able to find the perfect beam for our well house door header. Jeff and the others who work with him were friendly, professional and helpful in selecting, cutting and loading the beam. I will be back and definitely recommend them to friends.

    Jeff and the guys are fantastic. A LOT of other businesses dont like to help us DIYers: not these guys. I drive from Cedar Park to Oak Hill just because they dont take umbrage when drop off material that is too big for my home workshop. They are cool and helpful and fast: they dont push me to the back of the line just because they could.I HIGHLY recommend these guys!!!

    Boring wood is everywhere. But This Old Wood has storied stacks. I chose not to use the old bleachers with the gum scrapped off but did like this selection from a disassembled barn. We torched it up and the final look is what I was hoping for to support my sculptural work. The guys who run the place are pretty easy to bounce ideas off of and I can’t help but feel like I was doing the environment some good while I having all that fun.

    We used This Old Wood to source a single beam for several home projects - a mantle, two beam headers for our new shutters, and cut trim wrap for a hood vent cover. Jeff and his team also made our custom shutters off some designs we’d drawn up with some 1x3 pieces he had on property. Everything turned out BEAUTIFULLY, and I can’t think of a better team to work with and create beautiful natural wood pieces.     Needed a butchers block trimmed a few inches. Oddly a difficult thing to find a service for in Austin as most places expect you to do it yourself. Jeff offered to do it for free and in 20min I had perfectly cut piece! Jeff was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable, a real pleasure to chat with.     Jeff was great and super helpful! I needed to buy some reclaimed lumber and had most of the tools for the project - except the big shop tools (Planer, Joiner). They were able to cut/plane/join - and assist with a second pass of planing (post resin fill). Nice guys, super helpful, and a lot of inventory to choose from!

    These guys are fabulous. They know and honor the beauty and strength of our now almost extinct Long-leaf Pine. Not only are they repurposing the wood, they create beautiful products with wood that was once in so many of the buildings in Texas. Easy to work with, and they know their stuff!
