    I had a wonderful experience with 1918 Preservation. From the time I reached out for an estimate to the completion of my deck project, everything was amazing. Josh was great communicating with me and getting updated pricing on changes I requested. The team were extremely neat and organized. Everyday they came to work prepared with everything they needed to complete the job. I had a total deck tear down and new larger build. The quality of their work is unmatched. My family and I are absolutely in love with our new outdoor living.

    I love my new deck! Josh and his crew did an outstanding job from start to finish! I was shown an array of material options which helped me decide the look I wanted. An estimate was provided in a timely manner. I didn’t have to wait long before the work started. Communication on timing of crew arrival and work to be done was excellent! The craftsmanship provided was above par! I would highly recommend this company if you are looking at adding a deck to your home.

    We are extremely happy with our deck that 1918 Preservation built for us this summer. They answered all questions in a timely manner, there was no pressure with making decisions and they kept us posted as to when we could expect the project to start. They cleaned up each day. I could not asked for a nicer more professional group of guys to build a deck for us. I am very happy they were able to start our deck about a month earlier than we had originally thought - so that we will have a lot more time this year to enjoy the deck as a family.

    I hired 1918 Preservation to remove a 20 year old bi - level pool deck and rebuild a smaller deck with Trex. I contacted them in March of 2024 to get on the schedule. I was scheduled for the first week of August. They were able to start the work early, June 28th. They were finished in 3 days. Absolute perfection is the only way to describe my deck. It is gorgeous!!Their work ethic, communication, pricing, and the thought that is put in to what they do is the sum of the outcome. They think through the process of how we mobilize in our surroundings and consider the smallest details during the building process. They communicate with the customer extremely well from start to finish. The skill of the team and how they work together is demonstrated by constantly double and triple checking their measurements and steps in the building process. The jobsite is left clean and orderly. I will be using them again in the future to complete another project.

    We could not be more happy with our experience with Josh and his team. Josh was extremely easy to work with and an excellent communicator. He kept us updated with the weather and their progression with the fence. If there were any concerns, he called or texted before they moved forward with the issue. Our fence looks amazing and we’ve already had several people comment on the fence. Their work is top notch. I highly recommend!

    I reached out to 1918 Preservation because I had a need for a deck install in the place of some unsightly stairs as well as a small fence project. 1918 was attractive because they offered estimates on both. I was surprised at how quickly Josh was able to come out and take a look. After bouncing ideas back and forth through text and email, we settled on a plan, and the final quote fit well into our budget. Josh laid out a few different options on material choice and even possibly securing materials ourselves if we wanted, because cost are currently higher. A few days later he even let me know that the materials cost had dropped and our quote had dropped substantially. Josh brought Rob and Nate to assist with the job. The guys were great and continued to toss creative ideas our way when new potentials arose. Its February in Cleveland, so efficiency was in question, but the guys were able to piece out the project around a couple of decent weather days. Overall, we were very impressed with this company, their work, and the guys who represent it. They are waiting for some things on our end for the fence portion, but that wont stop me from complementing the work they did on our new deck. I would definitely recommend.

    After receiving several astronomical quotes to replace our 30 year old deck, we reached out to 1918 Preservation. They quoted us to replace our existing deck using lumber and separately using composite material for the deck surface. Their composite material quote was far less than the other quotes using wood.They had three people working to replace the fairly large deck and it took less than 5 days to take apart the old deck surface, stairs, and rails and replace these with new composite decking, rails, and stairs. They also fortified the underlying structure to handle the load and enclosed the entire underside of the deck with fence boards and a gate. Now we have approximately 600 square feet of storage underneith the new deck.Overall this company did an excellent high-quality job at a very reasonable cost. The team was very professional and listened to our ideas and questions. I would highly recommend 1918 Preservation for any deck or fence work.

    I became familiar with this company by watching them build a deck around my neighbors above ground pool in 2021. Working from home, I watched them daily out of my window. They were timely arriving and were in and out within a week with a completed project that was beautiful. I knew at that point I wanted them to tear down my old deck and rebuild it. Josh & Robert did an amazing job! I am so pleased with the service they performed and highly recommend them for the outstanding job they completed.They assisted me in my choices when I was undecided and I totally appreciate their guidance. My new deck is amazingly beautiful. My neighbors, family & friends have complimented the great job completed by 1918 Preservation. We look forward to many occasions being celebrated on the deck as well as relaxing sessions for many years to come. It definitely increases the value of my home! Take a bow fellows, you totally deserve it!

    What a great job!!! We bought a house that had really steep and narrow stairs on our deck. Josh and his crew rebuilt the stairs with great attention to detail. He added rails that matched the rest of the deck. We also have a beautiful lake behind our house. We wanted to have a little dock for our son to swim off of and to load him on his kayak. They did a fantastic job. Once again, attention to detail was evident. All of our friends love being able to sit and fish off of the dock and the sunsets are beautiful with your feet dangling in the water. The other huge bonus… they did it so quickly from reviewing their design to their execution. They were reasonably priced and everything turned out exactly as expected. It’s been 2 years now and we have appreciated the outdoor space they created for us! Thanks Josh!

    We couldn’t be happier! The crew 1918 are very professional, skilled and courteous. Start to finish, this was such a great experience. We have a lake house with a dock, boardwalk and two tiered deck. Its a lot of decking! The attention to detail was over the top. They sent up updates and photos often. We couldn’t be more happy with our deck! They did a phenomenal job from the initial consultation through the completion of the project. I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for a professional team that holds true to their word and does quality work.

They installed a composite deck and also did work on our front porch steps and railing.     Josh and his crew did an amazing job from start to finish! We live on a challenging plot of land with an uneven yard, but the finished fence product looks better than we could have imagined, with the team taking particular care in doing the job right. They were very professional and timely with their work, finishing a day earlier than anticipated without any loss of quality. Josh and crew are also very knowledgeable and willing to share info regarding any necessary upkeep needed on the particular product. Pricing is very reasonable as well!     Found the 1918 Preservation thanks to a google search of deck builders in my area and will be recommending them to everyone I know going forward. The whole crew was extremely professional. They were always on time, cleaned up when they were done for the day, and were so patient and helpful when we were struggling with design choices. They confidently provided information about our new fence project, and also gave us a voice to make decisions throughout the process as they shared their expertise. If you’re looking for a team of hardworking and collaborative people to work with on a home project- 1918 Preservation is the crew for you. They arrived timely each day and were efficient. We were left with a beautiful fenced in yard with 2 gates, and specific recommendations for continued aftercare to ensure a long lasting and quality fence. I also think it’s important to note that the guys left our property picked up and clean after they were done working, which hasn’t always been the case when we’ve worked with other contractors and professionals in the past.
