Earlier this year we signed on Black Bear Builders to do a home remodel / extension after doing our due diligence in the market. As we have seen their work before in other homes in the area, we had them come out for an initial consult & design plan.Black Bear Builders were thoughtful and considerate to all of our ideas while also providing some great insights to things we had never considered. Together we created an amazing design for our renovation.The Black Bear crew were great through the entire process, providing us realistic timelines and problem solving solutions along the way during construction. I highly recommend Black Bear Builders for your future projects.

We have just wrapped up our third project with Black Bear, with another planned in a few months. Black Bear did a major addition for us and has also renovated existing spaces. The owner, Matt, has always been easy to work with - he is reliable, honest, creative and detail-oriented. And each and every person that works for Black Bear reflects those same qualities. There are never any shortcuts taken, work is always done the “right way.”

My remodeling experience with Black Bear was first-rate all the way. Matt was charming and informative, filled with good ideas and open to later what abouts that homeowners such as myself always come up with during work. He and his workers were a consistent pleasure to work with; they built a fairly elaborate series of bookcases and put in large, box-bay window as well as working on numerous smaller improvements (sun-tunnels, rehanging older cabinets and mirrors) etc. They company also works with excellent and reliable painters, roofers, etc. Occasionally delays caused by supply-line issues were unavoidable, but I they kept me in the information loop My previous experience several years ago with another firm was OK but not as good as this, and I would look forward to working with them again.

We are so happy to have the Black Bear team working on our kitchen renovation now! Matt, Shelby, and Marcus have been thorough, attentive, and professional throughout this journey. They have been able to translate our ideas into reality while being great communicators about the process. Weve had no surprises, and when there are details to be adjusted theyve been flexible.Were going to plan our next project with them as soon as this one wraps up.

Black Bear Builders renovated 1/3 of our house (bedrooms, laundry room, hallways and master bathroom) in 2020 and we were very happy with them and have recommended them to many of our local friends. They are responsive, professional, and have beautifully renovated our older home to accommodate for our growing family. During construction, someone from Black Bear was there EVERY DAY and kept us updated on the job’s progress constantly. We are looking to renovate our home again within the next few years and will only be reaching out to Black Bear Builders.

Black Bear Builders built us the most used room in our home, a screened in porch with radiant heat. Five years in and we could not be happier with this addition. The project was so well done from start to finish, design to build and beyond, that they build three more in our neighborhood. Matt Bonacci, along with the entire team is a class act and super responsive before, during, and after the build. If you are considering any home renovation, I would not look beyond Black Bear Builders. They are worth it!!!

The Black Bear employees and subcontractors were wonderful - hardworking, there when expected (on time every day for 5 months!), and willing to go far beyond expectations at all times. Planning, scheduling and the rate of progress were superb, and we were so happy with the entire experience that we had them do a second job for us the following year.

Stop researching and just use Black Bear Builders!!!! We did a complete reno of a primary bathroom upstairs thats enormous. Matt and his team were fantastic. Excellent drawings, suggestions, customer service. Couldnt have asked for a better partner in this huge endeavor. You wont be disappointed.

I wish I could select more than five stars, quite honestly. There truly can’t be better a construction outfit than Black Bear Builders, if what matters to you is work of the highest quality and materials, a keen eye for detail, and a distinct allergy to cutting corners, which is de rigueur for most other contractors (with whom we’ve been unlucky in the past, so I speak from experience and relief). The owner, Matt Bonacci, is an all around great guy with years of experience in the field and has extensive contacts. You can quickly see that his employees and subs are the best staff and craftspeople. During the build, we were perfectly fine taking an extended vacation and just leaving the house to the project head, an amazingly talented, legendary carpenter named Bob—which is a testament to the trust they earn with their clients. We had Black Bear design and build us an artist studio and a huge blinged out screened porch, plus some significant landscape components. It is all so well built as to survive whatever cataclysm this way comes. We’d definitely hire them again if ever the need arises, and cannot commend them highly enough.
