    In May of 2024 we had Porter Electric Install ground mount Solar for us. We spent several months researching and learning about solar for our home. We then spent a few months reaching out to several companies that provide solar installations and sat down with each of the 5 companies to hear what they had to say and to go over their quotes.Porter Electric stood out to us for several reasons1. They are an established and LOCAL electrical company.2. Our salesman, Cam, was not pushy or arrogant but friendly and knowledgeable. We had a lot of questions for him and he was very responsive to texts and emails from us, not to mention patient.3. Most of the solar companies are pushing you to sign papers minutes after they make contact with you. Porter understands that this is a big investment decision for most people and that they need to feel comfortable that the investment will pay off and that the company they are hiring will deliver on their promises.4. Porters 30 yr. warranty on their equipment.5. Highly qualified union electricians that work for Porter Electric, they did not hire some outside third party company to do their work.So we decided that Porter Electric was our company and they did not disappoint.Matt, our lead electrician, reached out to us after we had agreed to go with them and went over the details of our installation and the timeline of when things would happen. Matt and his team were very professional and respectful. Our solar system has been up and running for almost 2 months now and to date we are very happy with the product, installation and service provided to us from Porter. We would highly recommend to any friends or family to give them a call if they are considering solar for their home.

    We worked with Porter Electric over the past few months to quote and finally install a solar system on our house. The quoting process was straightforward and clear, and Shane was extremely easy to work with and very communicative. He answered the many question I had during the process. The project was installed ahead of schedule. The crew was very friendly and clearly proficient. They provided updates throughout the day and finished the project when they said they would. The Porter Electric team worked through all of the applications and utilities interactions to make the process as streamlined as possible.The system has been working wonderfully, and I would recommend Porter Electric to anyone for their solar array needs!

    My experience with Porter Electric installing our solar system was positive from start to finish. Our salesman was respectful, thorough and accurate. The bid was competitive. The installation crew was skilled and efficient. One thing that impressed me was how they respected my property and jumped through some extra hoops to stay off freshly seeded grass. The system was completed within the time frame they gave me and the installation was neat and it has been performing well for me.

    Porter Electric installed a roof top solar array along with a battery backup system. Shane was absolutely awesome to work with. He made sure everything was taken care of. He came out and gave us a free estimate which showed how solar would pay for itself over the next few years. We did have some issues during the installation, but Porter Electric stood behind their work and made it right. I would highly recommend Porter Electric to anyone looking for solar. I would not use a third party vendor as they end up hiring electricians such as Porter Electric to do the work anyway. You might as well hire the electricians directly instead of paying a third party to hire the electrician for your solar project.

    Solar ground mount installation was excellent. The crew with Nate and Chris were friendly and professional. The office accounting performance drop a rating from 5 to 4 on overall rating.Electrical craftsmen are knowledgeable and attentive to detail.

    I want to give kudos to Porter Electric. Our solar install was completed yesterday, and we could not be happier. Shane was patient during the entire process and kept us informed the entire time. If you are thinking about solar, dont use any of those Tik Tok, FB, or any other social media ad. Go right to Shane at Porter Electric and he takes care of the entire process for you. If you give him a call, make sure you tell him I referred you. There maybe something special in it for me!

    Porter electric installed solar for our home, they did a professional job and did exactly what they said they would do. It’s only been up and running for a couple of weeks but it sure is nice to see my utility bill decreasing on a daily basis. I can’t wait to see what they will do in the summer.

    Had PE come to my house to do some work in my kitchen related to a newly installed cooktop. They were great! Super professional, friendly, courteous, fair rates; honestly a really good experience all around.     We had an issue late at night with the main breaker of our house going out. Within a few minutes of my husband emailing the company, Greg called him. That night he came to the house and fixed the problem. We were so thankful for the quick and affordable service we had him come back a week later to run electrical for new ceiling fans and light in our house.     Porter Electrics solar project manager Shane Helle did a great job of facilitating whole process of my residential solar panel installation: system design, roof inspection, ROI calculation, federal tax credit, state SREC credit, building permits, and coordination with Ameren. My monthly Ameren bill is reduced to $11.40 (Amerens fixed customer and meter charge).

    I had previously called another company on a friends recommendation. After 2 days and 2 messages left with that companys bored receptionist and still no service visit, I Googled and found Porter Electric. Their receptionist was alive, professional, happy to help! She was able to tell me when an electrician would be at my home THAT DAY. And then... the electrician, Rick, was knowledgeable, equally professional and alive, looked over more than my original electrical issue (at my request, because I had another, less pressing electrical problem), and solved EVERYTHING and explained it to me. Im going to be telling everyone I know. I wish I had a dang tee shirt to wear. Not kidding.

    Crew worked very hard, despite some extreme weather conditions and complications with rocky terrain to install the system. The office staff were right on top of all the paperwork and applications that were necessary in the process.     Well two days ago I had a tree fall in the front yard knocking my power out to my house... The weather the next day was super hot I have two children and I called spoke with the owner he decided to come out and sweat his butt off to get it done for me that day I cant thank him enough for getting the work done as quick as he could for me calling Ameren to tell them he was finished and to come hook our power up!! Porter electric has top notch service and I would suggest everyone to use them for your electrical needs THANKS ALOT!!!
