An electrician came to do an installation of a car charging port. He was expecting to do a high capacity plug, but we needed a regular one. He redid his plans, and as we moved furniture out of the way in the garage, we discovered we actually had the needed plug, which had been begins a shelf. He was really nice about the situation and didn’t even charge me for coming out. A true class act.(I have also had actual work done by Able Electric, and I would recommend them based on that as well. They are always prompt, professional, clean, quick and with a good price. I have no complaints.)

Very friendly, went above and beyond with fixing up the wall after cutting in. We were surprised when the quote came in lower than we expected, but are appreciative that Able was able (heh) to keep it so affordable that it was an instant yes for us to hire them.Weve used Able before, and will continue to have them as our electricians. Karen was diligent in keeping me informed of every detail. From the time the estimator will arrive, the work being done, to when the inspector will arrive.Steve, the electrician, was very knowledgeable, worked hard and he cleaned up every time he was here.I would have given 5 stars if it was not for your estimator, Keith. He came out and quoted a price of $695. When Steve came to do the work, he realized there was more to be done. A new panel & wiring to be done. Keith had to come back out for another estimate, which costed $3,000 more. He should have been noticed the work needed to be done during the first estimate. Then we had to schedule another 2 days to get the work completed. This was a complete waste of our time, having to take multiple days off for this project. Not sure if this is how you run your business; missing important information on the estimate, having the electrician come out to say more work needs to be done, then another over expensive estimate to complete the work. If I was not happy with the work Steve has done, I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau to inform them of the way you run your business.

This an updated review. I had some initial concerns and was pleasantly surprised when the the owner, Doug called me to discuss my experience. First let me say problem of quirky on/off of my curio cabinet light was fixed. It seems the problem is poor capacitance in my finger when touching the hinge on cabinet which is suppose to turn on light and the Electrician pointed out simple alternative way to get light on. My concern was that full charge for coming out was billed despite simple fix that took about 15 minutes. This is where Dougs great customer service kicked in. He apologized and said they do have reduced fee for simple fixes and we agreed on a very satisfactory credit to account. Take away is if you have concern: before doing review BETTER CALL DOUG!

I’m highly satisfied with Steve’s work from Able Electrical. He came right on time, was very pleasant, kind, and highly professional. I have been having multiple electrical issues and with his high problem-solving skills, vigilance, perseverance, and patience he was able to solve all of them one by one, all in one visit. Thank you Steve for a job well done!Here is more technical info: I had no power in my kitchen for a while. Steve troubleshoot all electrical outlet in the kitchen to find the lost neutral and reversed outlet that was not installed correctly. Also part of the living room didn’t have electricity. Steve troubleshoot it to find a lost neutral in the living room too. He also took the time to replace all outlets as per my request to comply with PG County regulations.

They were able to fit me into their schedule and just as my 1st experience was great, so was this one. Josh is the tech who came out and I was equally happy and satisfied with his services. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly and fast! My kinda business.***********I couldn’t be more happy and satisfied with the work done in my home this morning by AES!I scheduled a job for a small chandelier and dimmer switch to be installed and ended up having an additional light fixture put up on another floor as well. Steve arrived a few minutes early. He was friendly, prepared with the necessary tools, and worked quickly and efficiently! He respected my home and cleaned up behind himself. I had smoke detectors that did not meet “code” and because of that he was unable to install them for me. It’s frustrating because I have to go back and purchase the right ones, but I COMPLETELY APPRECIATE his honesty in bringing that to my attention (because a previous individual I hired did in fact install 1 “out of code” smoke detector).All of that said, I would definitely return for future work and would recommend this company for your electrical needs!

My husband and I recently experienced a complete loss of power due to the service cable going bad. We contacted several electrical companies to help and all wanted to charge $3900-$9000 to make the necessary repairs which included applying for a permit, contacting BGE, and having the city come out to inspect. We had almost given up hope as insurance would not cover the cost and we couldnt afford the prices we were quoted. I contacted Able Electric and tech Keith came out, looked into the issue and informed us the work could be done for less than $1000. Keith also informed us that BGE could give us temporary power until the issue was resolved due to it being the winter season. No tech, not even BGE bothered to tell us about the temporary power despite it being almost a month since we had power or heat. Able Electric has proven that not only does Customer Service still exist, but there are companies out there that still believe in helping people. Im truly grateful to Able Electric, the amazing staff(Karen), and knowledgeable technicians(Keith and Josh). BEST COMPANY EVER! As a homeowner and Realtor I highly recommend this company.

I had a great experience with Doug (owner) and Steve M. (technician). We were linked to Able via QMerit for an EVSE install. They were actually the second company. The first company wanted to install a load shedding device and quoted over 3K. I declined that quote and was linked to Able.Doug reached out by phone and discussed the load issue in depth with me. He shared his calculations and discussed at length options. He spent a ton of time with me. I did some research and sent Doug some thoughts. He crunched the numbers and realized we wouldnt need the expensive device. Other contractors could have taken me for another 1000 or more. Not because they were dishonest but because they didnt put in the time. Code is complicated!So Dougs willingness to listen, share his thoughts, and focus on whats best for me saved me thousands.Steve showed up right on time, walked me through the project and got to work. I mentioned Im interested in electrical work and invited me to watch and explained what he was doing. Charger works great and Im quite pleased with the process and the work. Our technician, Matt, was friendly, professional, on time, efficient and masked (hooray! I didnt have to ask!) when he came to the house. He quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it with no problems. Always great to support local businesses, and this one is top notch. Prices are fair, they dont try to up-sell you or trick you into buying something you dont need. Its sometimes difficult to find honest companies with integrity, and we certainly lucked out here. I think weve found ourselves our new go-to electricians!UPDATE: 3 months later, we had another possible issue on a Sunday morning. They got back to us in minutes, and had a tech to us in less than 1 hour. The technician was fair, kind and very professional. The holes cut into my drywall were minimal for the repairs needed and Turk was careful around my brick work as not to ruin it during this job. Highly recommend this company! Had an issue with our outdoor patio lights, called around and was told by a few companies they could get someone out in a few weeks. Able got a technician out the next day. He was incredibly professional, quick to diagnose the problem, and was able to make the needed repairs on the spot (relaying some underground cable between two patio lights. We selected Able Electrical not only because they were one of the least expensive quotes we got, but because they were the most thorough in their estimate and we felt like they really knew what they were doing. Doug did a virtual walk-through so that was really convenient, and we were able to schedule the work to be done less than two weeks later. We needed the electrical panel replaced and service to the house increased from 100 to 200 amps, plus grounding some outlets and upgrading others to GFI. We just bought our house and so we knew from the inspection that the electrical situation in the basement was not ideal, but did not realize how bad it was until Steve came to do the actual work. A lot of what had been done was illegal, so he brought us up to code to ensure that we pass the inspection from the city. I am very relieved to have this work be completed and highly recommend Able Electrical!

I used Able Electric in the past to replace a outlet to my sump pump. They did great work, and I was happy with their service, so it was a no brainer to contact them for installation of an electric car charger. I called Able Electric to request a quote. That day I received a call back and the date they would visit to view what needs to be done to complete the installation. They explain that Keith would visit my home to survey the area for installation of the electric car charger. Keith arrived at my home and explained what was needed for installation. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. I obtained a quote from Keith, that day, that I was happy with. I paid the 33% deposit and Able Electric schedule the installation in 3 business days. Steve arrived to begin installation. Steve arrived on time at the beginning of the 8AM to 10AM window that I was given. Upon his arrival, I informed Steve that the electrical car charger that I ordered did not arrive as schedule and I was going to cancel the installation. Steve told me that’s ok and he would install the wiring and connect the charger when it arrives. That was great to hear because I scheduled a day off from work for installation and didn’t want to waste their time. Steve installed the wiring and explained the whole process while he worked. He cleaned up the area while he worked and afterwards. The charger arrived a few days later. I called them the next day to compete the installation and Steve arrived the following day. After completion, Steve informed me that they will contact the inspector and I should be contacted by Able Electric for inspection date. During this whole process I received emails and text messages on schedule dates, arrival times, and names of Able Electric employees that visited my home. I am very happy with the finished installation and I will use them again when needed.Ron

Mr. Doug Jenkins called me back that evening and asked me to describe what I had done. He then graciously walked me through connecting everything correctly over the phone. After I did just as he said it still did not work. Doug then directed me to my breaker panel and had me go through each one to ensure everything was on while he described how I may have turned off the main breaker but there were sub breakers that controlled the outlets as well. I found one that was not completely on. I switched it off then back on and everything worked perfectly. Doug was amazing, selflessly taking time out of his night with his family to take time to walk me through the process over three different phone calls. 5 Star By FarAmazon Seller + Prime Day 2019 + BGE Power Outage = Potential DisasterDisaster averted after calling Able Electric Services. Talked to Doug (Owner), explained the emergency crisis we were facing and he immediately put a plan together, shopped the parts needed and built a custom circuit to get our engravers up and running on a generator. IN LESS THAN 2 HOURS from the initial call we were engraving orders again. I believe there was some divine intervention on this day cuz Doug was a cold call from a google search and had never done work for us prior. He made us a priority and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Guess that’s why he is still thriving in biz 22 years strong. I don’t know their service radius but I do know they are certainly worth the first call to inquire. It was Father’s Day weekend and we had 20 people coming over to eat crabs on a hot sunny day. On the morning of people coming over, the electrical was not working in our outdoor gazebo, which meant my guests would be without a much needed fan, and lights for later on in the evening. Calling for an electrician to come out on the same day and a Saturday at that made me gasp at the thought of the cost, but we had to, we needed our electrical to work. I called Able Electrical and spoke to Doug. After hearing my distressed lady voice, Doug did the most decent thing; he offered to talk me through potential fixes over the phone rather than take advantage of the opportunity to capitalize on the situation. He was sooooo helpful and sure enough, he talked me through the issue and my gazebo fan and lights were working for my Fathers Day party! He even offered his direct cell in case something went haywire. I am so appreciative of him and he will be the first person I call when I need electrical work again. I highly recommend Able Electrical!
