    We needed four custom newel posts for the new home we are building. We contacted Adrian at Splash Carpentry to see if he could adapt one of his current designs to our needs. We were after a very specific look to go with our Craftsman architecture and decor, and we wanted to use quarter-sawn white oak.Adrian came back to use with a couple of ideas on how he could achieve the look we were looking for. After a couple of back and forth discussions deciding on a final design, he ordered wood specifically for our project and started building the posts the next week. They were shipped the week after that. They are absolutely stunning, and will make the whole staircase. We could not be happier. Cant wait to get the finished and installed. My wife and I would highly recommend Splash Carpentry!So, now its a couple of years later, and we loved the newel posts so much we decided to use an adaptation of their design for the centerpiece of our foyer chandelier. I spoke to Adrian and sent him the drawings for one more custom project. Once again, he and Splash Carpentry delivered beautiful results, exceeding our expectations!

    I recently moved and started remodeling the new place. I didnt know exactly with what I wanted to replace the old banister. Therefore, contacting Adrian Andercau from Splash Carpentry to help me with this project turned out to be the best decision ever! He was extremely knowledgeable and recommended me what he thought will fit perfectly . He changed from wooden spindles to iron balusters and I love that theyre not the same twist or basket that everyone has. Adrians incredible work gave my old staircase a modern look.Great quality. Looks awesome!My stairs were transformed by these!I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Adrian Andercau !     Great experience overall!I was having a hard time finding someone who would service the south suburbs. Adrian and his team traveled over an hour everyday, to service us! Sometimes as early as 7am to get the job done!I am very detailed oriented and he picked up on it quickly and always responded positively to any concern I had over the 3 weeks of the job.His sister is heaven sent! I appreciated her eye for symmetry and detail, she really compliments Adrians execution and carpentry skills.We had wainscoting done to our foyer, living/dining room and stairs. We also had beadboard added to our half bath in the foyer and an accent wall in the loft/office space. Last minute we added crown molding for all of downstairs and they were able to knock it out, still within the time frame given.They are hard working and very personable, which makes it easy to want to book another service with them in the future. We definitely will and you should too =)

    Our retirement home was built in 1860 and required a custom antique looking white oak 2 step addition, landing, and spindle rail system to complete the staircase. We spent years searching internet sites and architectural salvage yards for an antique spindle and rail system before purchasing one we liked, but antique matching newel posts and accessories were impossible to find.We found Splash Carpentry via the internet and called Adrian to discuss our need and vision.     I had a newel in my house from the early 70s. Never liked it, I always wanted to replace it. Splash Carpentry took care of it for me. The owner was very responsive, asked me plenty of questions to ensure sizes were correct, and built one from scratch. Their prices are great, the build quality is top notch, and the customer service is as good as it gets.Everything about this transaction was what you would expect from a professional. I will use them for any carpentry work moving forward.

    Adrian from Splash Carpentry did an excellent job with the removal of our spiral staircase and replacement of the railing. The railing that was in place was out of code and a hazard for our toddler. Adrian custom made all of the spindles and railing and made sure the space in between the spindles were up to code. He also removed the spiral staircase carefully so we could re-sell it. Adrian was responsive/timely/punctual from the point of getting an estimate to finishing the work. He estimated a timeline to do the work and stuck to that exactly. Adrian is extremely friendly and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely use Adrian in the future for further carpentry work!

    Adrian and the team constructed 6 podiums to be used at the NRA2022 event at McCormick Place, Chicago.All delivered to specification on-time and the event went as planned. Adrian visited us the afternoon before the show opened to check all was good. We required a quick modification to the podiums (our fault), but nothing was too much bother. and he arrived as planned with all the necessary tools.Will absolutely be using him again next year, with a bit more notice next time...until then, thank you.

    I only have good things to say about this company !!I mean , I sent Adrian a few ideas of the shelves I wanted for my kitchen ,Iwanted that rustic barn style look, and he delivered beyond my expectations!!     My fiancé and I had bought a piano and we wanted some kind of artwork displayed on top of the piano. We found Adrians presidential relief sculptures and asked if he could custom make a Chopin ( our favorite composer) sculpture. He was more than happy to work with us and walked us through all the steps and its creation. However, we still had the piano we bought in storage and needed help to move the heavy instrument. When Adrian knew we lived not too far from him, he volunteered himself and some other workers to help us move the furniture for free! The Chopin sculpture came out beautifully and exactly how we wanted. It is a perfect piece of artwork that completes the entire set.

    I have newel posts and in my book case a carving of George Washington from Splash Carpentry. I LOVE them. My newel posts make a beautiful statement. And George Washington is my hero. It is fun to have a carving of him next to my history books. Adrian is great to work with.

    We had two skylights installed by the roofing company that replaced our roof, but they made some overcuts in our family room ceiling. Adrian came in and expertly repaired the cosmetic issues, as well as fully encasing the skylights. He demonstrated all the traits I look for when hiring a home repair professional: hes responsive and prompt, he had all necessary tools and equipment, he kept the workplace clean (no sawdust in our house!), and he kept me apprised of all the steps along the way. He knows what hes doing, and hell work with you to ensure the work is done to your satisfaction.

    I contracted with Adrian to build custom stair treads and landings for a large multi-family housing project we were working on. We were on an extremely tight schedule and, when a transit provider wasnt available over the Labor Day weekend, Adrian took it upon himself to drive the treads to us himself.....650 miles....ONE WAY! The treads look amazing, and the job went on without a hitch. Its rare to find customer service such as this in todays workplace and its much appreciated. I look forward to doing more work with Adrian in the future. I have no doubt that he will come through with more great work.

    As a GC i work constantly with different crews and companies. I needed to customize a 13’ wood slab and transform it into a countertop for a cigar lounge. Adrian(Splash Carpentry) was very responsive and professional. He leveled and prepped the slab, C&C customization, sink cutout, stained and varnished. It turned out amazing. The customer was thrilled with the final result. I will definitely work with Splash Carpentry on all my future projects, as i was extremely satisfied with our collaboration.

    In a gut renovation of an 1880s home I saved the original newel posts. Splash did a fantastic job of rebuilding and painting them. They saved the top portion and constructed new bottoms to match. I could not have been more pleased with the quality of their work. I highly recommend them. Ive been a general contractor in Chicago for 25 years and Im really happy to have found them Ill definitely work with them again.

    I don’t vouch for a lot of people, but this ol cowboy needs to tip his hat and raise a cold one to Adrian and the guys at splash Carpentry. Absolutely beautiful newel post that keep getting compliments. I did an addition to a 1920s craftsman bungalow and its nice when the elements you add into the house were crafted by a true craftsman. Everywhere I looked online I kept finding the same cookie cutter box newel designs that are mass produced. For the same price I was able to get post exactly the way I wanted and exactly how they would have been made 100 years ago. Adrian was easy to work with and offered a few suggestions. The post showed up a few weeks later very well wrapped and packaged. I will definitely be using him again in the future for my up coming projects. I just hope this hidden gem of a company doesn’t get too many orders so they can’t squeeze my work in.

    On November 14, my wife and I contracted with Adrian Andercau of Splash Carpentry to replace a stairway in our home. Upon first meeting Adrian, we were immediately impressed with his woodworking expertise. The project was started three days later. The stairway was completed proficiently and with efficiency. We are extremely pleased with the result. Their original estimate was the lowest we received, which makes the choice of Splash Carpentry and the result of their work even more rewarding.

    Adrian and his team are really great to work with. Initial communication and ballpark estimate was with Adrian over email. I described the job and sent pictures, and then he was able to answer my questions and provide a rough estimate for cost and timeline. Then he sent out Matthew and John for 20 min to inspect the job, discuss details, and confirm the estimate. Once I agreed, Adrian promptly sent a contract and we scheduled the work to start later in the week.Our stairs desperately needed a fresh look as they had old worn stain under a carpet runner and lots of caked paint on the risers, stringers, and shoe base along the wall. Also, our stairs have some turns at the top and bottom and the railings were not connected. Not only did it not look very nice, it also wasnt to code.Matthew and his team showed up promptly the first day. They were quick and efficient, and Matthew was a great help to pick the stain based on a couple sample spots he had done. Refinishing the treads took 3 days and Matthew was always very helpful throughout his part of the project to answer my questions. He is a really nice guy and clearly very experienced with the different products, application methods, and what works for different kinds of wood and different conditions. I could tell he really knew what he was doing and the end product looks amazing!John showed up half-way through the project to work on the risers, stringers, shoe base, and installing the railing. He did a lot of sanding and patching before painting, probably more than he anticipated, but now they look like new! And the new railing is one beautiful continuous railing that follows the turns at the top and bottom. John is a very skilled craftsman because there were a lot of angles and cuts, but they fit together perfectly.Overall, we are very pleased with the end result and would definitely hire Adrian and his team again for future projects. We only wish we had done this project sooner because everything looks so nice!

    Excellent communication and scheduling with Adrian (owner) and Alex (contractor). This was important as the new garage door was installed by others and opening specifications and timing was coordinated by client. Very courteous, excellent cleanup of substantial debris, framed new opening to exact specification provided. Reasonable pricing.Description of work:Demolish an interior garage loft. Expand garage door opening for larger door including framing, exterior siding and trim, drywall garage interior, move exterior light higher. Haul all demolished material away.

    I bought a zero clearance insert plate for my dewalt miter saw and I’m very happy about it ...needed this for some very clean cuts into composite decking while working on an expensive job ... will get more from them since we have a few saws that all need this templates ...highly recommend Splash Carpentry to friends and family!Keep up the good work guys!!!

    We hired Splash Carpentry to remodel our stairs going down the basement. The project went very smooth and all the issues caused by the narrow space and awkward angles were solved both esthetically and following the code. Adrian is a friendly person and during a well deserved lunch brake, our daughter Kayla, who is very passionate about painting, showed him her work.Adrian looked at the paintings and asked her how would she feel about doing the same work but on a 3d piece instead of paper. Kayla was very excited about the idea and so was Adrian. In his opinion, if she likes it, more kids will like it and he can turn this into a small, pleasant business.The designing and machining took a few weeks and the price was very decent. Kayla loved working on this carving and we will find a good place for it on the wall. On top of everything, many of the kids at school want it too!Splash Carpentry turned to be a very flexible and innovative type of business. We will definitely hire them again.

    I had the opportunity to collect a couple of old cedar rafters from a building in demo process and I was looking for a skilled carpenter to convert the raw material into floating shelves. I met Adrian and explained the goal of the project. He immediately understood what I envisioned for the the wood and as you can see in the pictures, the work speaks for itself, the shelves are amazing, with smooth finish just perfect for my apartment.     Adrian and the crew at Splash carpentry are the best in the business. Not only is their carpentry work top notch, but most importantly Adrian is an excellent project manager and the reason his business stands out is his communication skills. I previously had Adrian do a significant amount of work at my house and decided to hire him as an investor for a complete gut rehab of a 4 bedroom 4 bathroom single family home. He performed the majority of the work and had great contacts for subcontractors for work such as electrical, new window installation, and exterior brick work.Adrian is really creative and his custom carpentry is second to none.     I ordered some zero clearance insert plates for my Dewalt miter saws, Dewalt table saw and my glide Bosch 12 miter saw. The plates are very well made and the price are very reasonable. They also helped with some custom projects I worked on. They are easy to work with and very helful. Now I placed an order for a few custom carvings. Cant wait to see the result.

    Ordered a 6-1/2 King Box Newel in hickory, which are somewhat difficult to find. Hickory is 40% harder than oak. I have used it a lot in my house but didnt want to take the time to make my own. That is where Adrian came in. He even hand selected the wood per my request. I have high standards when it comes to fit and finish, but Adrian nailed it with good, tight joints and nice sanded finish.I ordered two more.

    We hired Splash Carpentry for a stair upgrading project. The old stairs were in bery bad shape and the layout was ackward. Splash Carpentry came up quickly with a very good solution. They customized the posts and the railings and in a matter of 7 days. Almost all the finishing was done in their shop which cut a lot of time at the jobsite. Considering the client has 3 toddlers, this was very usefull. The job was done and our customer very happy. We highly recommend them for any interior carpentry work.

    Adrian was punctual and very professional, he was referred to me by my general contractor of 15 years who also does excellent work so I knew I was in good hands. Adrian first measured the space and his partner sent me a few renderings that I sent back with slight modifications until we got it exactly right. He asked for the paint color and hardware and when the cabinet/ armoire was ready his team assembled it on site. It has 2 larger cabinets, 2 smaller cabinets, 2 interior drawers, and 2 exterior drawers with a nice crown molding trim (see photo). Its purpose was to hide our coats, dog leashes, hats etc because we dont have a coat closet and have a custom look. Its almost like a mudroom piece, but in our front hallway. He did a wonderful job, I highly recommend Splash to anyone in need of custom cabinetry.

    I am a general contractor and I hired Splash Carpentry to frame a basement, a kitchen and build an exterior and an interior staircase. I am very happy with the quality and punctuality. The prices are a little higher than medium but its totally worth it. While they are on site, I dont have to worry about anything. I will use them for finishing too. Good deal!

    As a custom woodworker, this is my favorite place to go to when I need something done on a cnc machine. From custom cabinets, curved mouldings, spraybooth finishing or a small but very useful accessory for my tools, this is the place. Good turnaround time and conveniently located close to the city and the northern suburbs where most of my customers are.
