    The electrician that fixed our electrical issue was professional, knowledgeable, and thorough in determining the scope of work that needed to be done. He explained what steps he would be taking and answered all of my questions. He was not in a rush to take shortcuts. Instead he made sure all possible avenues were explored as he went through the troubleshooting process.The customer service staff was also professional and communicated reminders about the appointment, the work that went into the quote, and answered my questions in a knowledgeable and patient manner.

    Excellent service and communication, and finished my solar install ahead of schedule. My only gripe is I still dont understand why they painted the exposed conduit on the roof as part of the deal, but wanted to charge me extra to paint the same conduit on the side of the house, even though I supplied the paint. It took awhile for PGE to do their part as for the connection, but that is on PGE.

    Ive had them install solar and whole house generator and they did a great job. Yellow light on the generator came on right after the warranty ran out, guy came out, flipped two switches, battery check issue. He was there for 30 minutes, they charged me 250.00, I find that ridiculous, even for California! That being said, I still signed up for their generator service program, they have good people and do good work, luckily I have a little money in the bank if youre on a budget, might want to look around.

    I am so impressed. This might be the best repair experience Ive ever had. We were assigned to Urban Design by our Home Warranty for a difficult repair. Shawnee was professional, friendly, rushed our job because we were in escrow, and provided excellent communication along the way between all parties. Erik not only achieved a difficult motor repair, he also discovered a problematic leak and repaired that too! And, he was professional, on time, friendly, helpful, accomodated our rush, and had great communication. I cant say enough good things about this experience. I would be happy to call them for my next repair!

    Craig at Urban Design fixed my leaking shower faucet today and I’m really happy with how the whole job was done. The appointment setter was courteous and professional, the plumber, Craig, called when he was on his way, and the work was done quickly. He explained what he was doing and showed me his progress at a few points. I would feel good about using Urban Design again!

    Very friendly staff in the plumbing department. They are very straightforward with the issues that happened and even though it was out of my price range to fix completely they did everything they could to make my plumbing work. Also gave me options on how to fix the issues myself! I will be using them for any problems I have in the future and would recommend for anybody with issues they can help with!

    We had a 6.8kw system put on our tile roof which for other firms was problematic to the point where most never even came back with a bid after looking at it. They scheduled 1 day for installation but it took them 5 days! The crews worked their butts off yet always maintained a professional decorum. They were respectful and informative to my questions. I would recommend them highly.

    I had Urban Design install my solar. There was electrical connector that was faulty (product failure) and half my system stopped producing power. I happened to notice it on a Saturday morning but didnt want to bother them on the weekend. Later Sunday afternoon, I sent a text letting them know and asked if they could get me on their schedule. I got a response letting me know that they will let the office know in the morning. Not only did they let the office know but Dave was at my house a little after 10 am and had it back up and producing power a short time later. Thank you Dave and Urban for the quick response and good service

    AMAZING company! I honestly dont think I can write a review that will do them justice! The UDS staff from start to finish were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and eager to do anything and everything possible to make sure we were not only happy customers- but ones that were fully informed & educated on the process of getting solar. They absolutely blew me away. If I had a question, they answered it thoroughly. Calls or emails? Responded to within the hour.From their main sales rep Logan to their installation manager Ryan- we found ourselves in the good hands of good people- hell I was doing a project in my garage while they were installing- & they brought me lunch then lent me a power drill when I had issues with mine! Who does that?! These guys.After the panels were up & I was waiting for PG&E to do their part- I got an email DAILY on what was going on; as they worked to get the power company to approve the connection to the grid. I checked out their competitors. They didnt even come close to the level of service I got from Urban! If your even THINKING about doing solar- do yourself a favor and give them a call, you wont be disappointed.

    Urban Design Solar did a great job throughout the entire process. In building out and estimating our solar needs they took time to ask questions and came out to take proper measurements. I received high quality panels that were competitively priced, which I really appreciated!Something I highly value is communication and follow up. Many places seem to be behind the times on how they communicate and interface with the customer. Urban Design Solar communicated well and they communicate often. Max, in the office, followed up with me many times via call, text and email. Max matched my communication preference and was professional and knowledgeable. He made the process stress free and was able to answer my questions quickly. When I had questions about the installation process or finishing process Max took my questions, followed up with the installation team and the techs and responded to me in the same day. Max’s communication was a big part of our fantastic experience with Urban Solar Design.The installation team members were professional and friendly.     Worked on replacing the bathroom faucet and connecting lines. Due to a Cal Water issue we had to reschedule and they worked with me to do so. Creig and Samuel were great, excellent work and very thoughtful wearing masks as my sister is immune suppressed.

    My hubby and I wanted our solar up quickly and the contractor I had been working with was not being responsive. I did a random internet search, looked up Chico solar contractors with decent reviews, and called a few. Urban Design was by far the easiest to reach and most professional. They gave me a thorough quote, quickly, and matched my contractors price (which was lower than others as well). They provided a lot of options when it came to solar panels and inverters, but were happy to make recommendations and help me understand the choices. I signed contracts on Monday, May 2nd, and I had a system up and running with PG&E on May 13th... I didnt even think that was physically possible. The work was excellent - my husband used to work as an electrician and he was impressed with how quickly and cleanly they ran lines and set up the meter. The workers were friendly and respectful of our schedule and home - my dogs even liked them. The professionalism of the entire office staff was exceptional. After the job was done they gave me a very helpful binder containing product information and warranties, which I really appreciated. Thank you Sean and Catrina for being such great partners in my energy project and providing us a great system that we are very happy with - we made the right choice going with Urban Design.

    These guys have great customer service and are very knowledgeable in there field. They did a 20 panel system on my home and worked with my limited knowledge to explain everything in depth. All of our expectations where exceeded. We where so impressed by how fast they completed the whole install. On top of everything they have honest prices on everything they do. Its a no brainer for me if u want solar give these guys a hollar.

    We took bids on our residential solar project from many companies both national and local. Sean at Urban Design not only gave us the most competitive bid, but he got back to us immediately and came to our house at our earliest convenience prepared to measure our roof and give us an estimate right away. He listened to our concerns, was knowledgeable about all aspects of solar, and was eager to work with us and get us what we wanted, how we wanted it. I cant say that about any of the other contractors we contacted.The install went smoothly and his crew were efficient, thoughtful, friendly and polite...and always cleaned up after themselves!There were a few hiccups with permits and office type things which is to be expected with a project like this. Sean always returned phone calls and emails promptly.Weve been up and running for a couple of months now and the savings are remarkable! On the shortest day of the year, under cloudy skies, with Christmas lights blazing and company in the house, we still shipped power to the grid!     I enjoyed working with the office personnel and they were helpful. I thought the workmen who did the installation were quick and proficient and seemed to have done a careful and quality job in spite of the hot days on which they worked. I am somewhat disappointed in the solar monitoring online, particularly that there was little explanation or instruction about the site. I have found the site to be glitchy. I would prefer to have my own software installed on my home computer. I would and have recommended Urban Design Solar to others.

I told him no and he offered to have Max come and teach us how to use it via our email.Max just left and we are so happy with his tech skills and has made it so easy for us to check whenever we want without any fuss!     Sean at Urban Design just completed a 24kw solar system install at my business in Chico. Its going to cut my $1000 a month PG&E bill down to nothing. Sean and his crew have gone above and beyond to be accommodating to my staff while working in the office. I am so excited to have this solar project launched that were planning on adding electric vehicles to our fleet to take even more advantage of all of the free power were getting.Updated:After working with them on the Solar project at our office weve had them out to our house in Chico to help us transform the backyard into a place that my family and I can really sit back and enjoy. Luckily Sean was able to help design a custom patio cover that truly transformed the tranquility of our backyard.     So the guys and gals at UDS have been crazy amazing. They made sure everything went smooth. Most solar companies have refused to work with us because we live in a mobile home.Lets just say that we dont know very much about solar, PGE, the whole permitting process, NET metering, etc. My wife and I are totally oblivious besides doing a little independent research for ourselves.The UDS staff walked us through every little hiccup and step of the process. They explained everything extremely well and went beyond to do extra research in accommodating our unique situation.We live in an older mobile home, but with our unusual detached garage building, the guys came out to inspect our electrical setup. Then they went extra lengths to ensure we could get solar at a great price. We were averaging between $250-$300 in electrical bills each month, but they guaranteed a $150/month financing option with 77% reduction in PGE.Let me just say, we are now paying about $143/month with our financing option and we are currently seeing a 97% reduction in our PGE bill. In other words, we basically pay nothing for PGE, which saves us $100-150/month with our 20-year financing option. In 20 years, we will completely own the solar unit.I should also add that, even though we had a few hiccups, UDS came through to ensure all our worries were taken care of. We even had a thermostat problem that didnt have much to do with them, but they came and did the repair job at no cost. WOW!But what really was the icing on the cake for us: UDS included a 20-year maintenance package for the solar system at no extra cost. NO COMPETITOR COMES CLOSE! Honestly, I didnt even want to waste my time with any other company. Urban Design Solar doesnt have a 5-star average for no reason. These guys really know what theyre doing and they really strive to be the best for every customer they have.I really recommend UDS for folks who are like us where youre really new to the solar system thing. If you want transparency and folks that look for solutions that fit you, I am absolutely now biased towards Urban Design Solar.

    We recently hired Urban Design Solar to replace our roof and install a solar system. They subcontract the roofing but we were happy with that company also. The bid was competitive and the response times were unmatched by anyone else we contacted. I communicated with several people in the office and everyone was quick to respond and helpful. The installation crews were quick and cleaned up well. Im glad to be up and running so we are not hit with another huge PG&E bill!

    Im a wedding facility that was spending $600-$900 a month for power prior to getting solar. Urban Solar came out and gave me the best price out of all the bids I received. Once I agreed, they had my whole system installed and permitted within a few weeks. My first year the bill went to an average of $50 a month. My system should be paid off within 5 years. It felt a little difficult to pull the trigger for buying solar but now that I have the savings, it just makes sense. Im glad I did it and & Urban Solar installed it. I feel theyre the best.
