    Decks by DAK just completed my replacement deck. The crew did a superb job. Every afternoon Dennis or one of his sons came by to review the work. The communication is great. They listen to what you want and deliver it. Everything about this company is top notch from the materials used to the attention to detail. I am very happy and you will be too!

    We wanted to replace both our aging wooden decks with Trex. Dennis came out and gave us a quote. We then decided to expand our upper deck and then decided to make the upper deck screened in with an open area for our grill. Tim was our point of contact and was extremely helpful. Our crew was led by Sanchez and he does very high quality work. We are beyond impressed with Decks By DAK.

    Our experience with Decks by DAK was superior from first contact, through final completion of the project.We needed a wheelchair ramp for my husband and a front deck for enjoying some outside time.     My project was completed a year ago. It is truly exceptionally well done! This is our favorite space in our home. I contacted this company because they had 5/5 stars reviews on BBB, and that is pretty impressive to me! From day one of my communication with Tim Kidd he has been taking very good care of my little project. He has been following up with me about every silly question or concern I may have. They are really do care for what they do wih decency and integrity. Everything is well organized, and well planned every little detail. After all, it is all about the details- and that is what makes work process very efficient. I am so glad I trusted them with my project and my investment into it. And that has a lot to do with 5/5 reviews on BBB. Yes, people still do read them!

    Had them refinish our sunroom including install of HVAC and all new windows. They did an excellent job, highly recommend. Definitely not the cheapest option out there, but quality was very good and they made sure that we were happy with every little finish before completing the job. Good communication throughout with changes to schedule or materials. Everything was done in a very timely and efficient manner. Everybody on site was not only professional, but very friendly in answering any questions along the way.

    Our deck was just rebuilt by Decks by DAK Construction, LLC. My husband and I have been totally pleased with the entire process and with the outstanding quality of the work and materials. Our only hold-up was the length of time Albemarle County took to process the building permit, which DAK Construction warned us about, but could not control. The construction crew was totally professional and left our building site daily with as little mess as possible. Communication with the company staff throughout the process from initial contact to final invoice was responsive and clear. We can highly recommend this company.

    I had my very aged front porch replaced with Trex Select and black Signature rails. I absolutely love it, and how it makes my home feel so welcoming. The entire team, from beginning to end, were great, and I now have a very well-made beautiful porch.     Dennis Kidds Dak Construction just completed installing a Trex deck and railing system as a replacement for our existing deck. Throughout the process, Dennis and his crew, especially Holmes and Jimmy, were terrific to work with and highly professional in all respects. They always came to the job site on schedule and left the site as clean as they found it. They worked in a most meticulous and skillful manner. We now have a deck of which we are extremely proud and would highly recommend Dennis firm for any construction project.

    I had struggled for years trying to find someone to build a deck for me that I felt I could trust. After meeting with a couple of different contractors, Dennis Kidd was easily my first choice and heres why... he responded quickly to my initial call. He called me the next day with an estimate. He suggested deck colors that would go well with my house colors Most importantly, he didnt pressure me into buying something I didnt want. The project involved demolition of my previous deck and replacing it with Trex Transcend using the existing footprint. He started the job ahead of schedule. I found Dennis to be extremely professional in dealing with me and his employees. He didnt insult the previous deck builder, and believe me he had plenty of subject matter. The crew were punctual. They showed up every morning on time. Two of the nicest guys with a lovely sense of humor. They were more than happy to move their vehicles to make room for the neighbors tree trimming trucks. Nobody had to ask them they just did it. So you can stop searching for a contractor... Dennis Kidd is the guy you want to go with. I had a super, positive experience from start to finish and I now have a beautiful outdoor living space. Many thanks for all of your hard work.

    Decks by Dak did a great job on the rebuild of our screened in porch! The new porch looks great and will be easy to maintain with Trek boards - no more annual maintenance and staining! The screens are great, and storm doors make it perfect for evening entertaining in the summer and fall. Sanchez and his crew and David kept us informed during the process and were responsive with questions and requests. I would highly recommend Dak!

    I was impressed by the professionalism of the team throughout the entire process. Dennis and Dan came prepared with a packet of information, examples of their work and the Trex decking, and left us with a rough estimate. We continued to text them with questions and greatly appreciated their quick responses. When the team came to do the work, I noticed how organized they were and how they left a clean site at the end of every work day - even my neighbors were impressed! They always communicated the progress of the work with both pictures and text, and made sure we were notified if a decision had to be made about the direction of the project. After the deck was finished, Dan dropped by with a goody bag and a personable conversation. Working with a company run well like this made us feel even better about the great work they did on the deck. Ill definitely hire them again when a new project comes around. Thanks, guys!!

    In 2015, we contacted 4 deck companies to solicit bids on replacing two decks (one very large deck, one small deck). Dennis Kidds bid was by far the best price for the highest quality - and his reviews on Angies list were all 5s.Dennis gave us excellent suggestions, to include the trex decking, the configuration and the sub-structure. His workers were the best workers weve ever had in 30 years of household projects. They were meticulous in their work and made sure every detail was exact, and they were great people too. We could not be more pleased with the work and the final result. We were so pleased we hired DAK construction for several other major projects, and every project was exceptional.

    Dennis worked with our landscaper (Snows Nursery) to build a custom designed deck project that integrated with the landscaping plan. He built a large screened in deck (pine roof / mahogany floor) and an open deck utilizing Trex planking. It is absolutely gorgeous and will be for a long time. We looked around and DAK is the highest quality builder in the greater Charlottesville area. He also brought in a high quality electrician to install our fan/light fixture and outlets both inside and outside. We could not have been happier with the project and have received numerous compliments from our guests.
