California Energy Consultants Services installed a Bryant heat pump HVAC system and three new windows in our 1920 home. What a difference the new HVAC system has made from our old gas heaters! Gary initially came out for a consultation and was there for us through the whole process. The actual installation of the HVAC system took two days. Jamie & Hailey were instrumental in processing the substantial rebates available through SMUD and coordinating the job.Robert, Jake & Ben did a terrific job determining what units would work best for us and installing them.The windows installation took only a day which included removing the old wooden dry rotted frames. Roger and the window installation team did a wonderful job.Everyone at the company was helpful and kind, making sure we were informed and they were very respectful of our home. Id highly recommend them as a place you would be pleased to do business with!

OUTSTANDING WORK!!! I’m so very please with the work that CECS did for us. Felipe (sales consultant) was amazing and walked us through everything from the products to the financing process. They took care of the financing process for us so that was a huge benefit! We actually chose CECS, who came in at the middle price because they offered a financing option at a fantastic rate through Travis Federal Credit Union.The installation crew (Turbo, Jose, Oscar and Juan) were exceptional and such hard workers. They got the job done earlier than expected and made sure everything was clean and in working order. I appreciate Turbo’s attention to detail and his communication was appreciated! I would absolutely recommend using CECS for your window replacement needs!

Had 2 sliding glass doors installed by this company. it was all around a good experience. The price was lower than most other quotes. And the two fellows that came to do the work did an excellent job! Ismar and Jose! They were professional friendly, Cleaned up after and Did a great job. I recommend highly.Additionally! The following day I noticed that one of the doors seem to be a little bit more difficult to latch. I called up and within a day they sent another person out to adjust and fine-tune that latch. That person’s name was Roger. Really nice guy and he fixed the door so it latches and locks closed perfectly. he arrived on time quietly went about his work and fixed it!Thank you .

Not only do I now have a gorgeous new glass door that slides like butter, and a new kitchen window with double sliding panels—so cool!, but the experience from start to finish was so incredibly easy thanks to Jamie and Hailey. I came into the show room with loads of questions and these two women walked me through all of my options, helped me to find PERFECT windows, and even accommodated an early delivery because of my tight construction schedule. Honestly, five stars doesn’t adequately express my gratitude, I’ll definitely give them more business in the future!

We recently moved to Davis. The home we purchased had single pane windows through out. We decided to start a project. Cal Energy was one of the bidders. Dave Robson came over and we were immediately impressed by his knowledge, professionalism, and the fact that he had window samples.As the process unfolded Dave was prompt on either email or phone inquiries. He confirmed appointments for measurements, etc. During this time we determined that we would need to replace the siding around the upstairs custom window. We also found out we had dry rot on the siding with a wall that abutted our next door neighbor. Dave worked with us and included a line item quote for that additional work. We then worked with the office staff at Cal Energy to line up financing via a State of California initiative called GoGreen. This shaved about 4% off the interest on a conventional loan. All of this led us to select Dave and Cal Energy for our project.Dave did a great job on setting up the calls for taking measurements. He was timely, efficient and thorough. He kept us abreast of when the windows would be available. He was flexible with us since we were on vacation as the windows arrived.Tony and his crew came in and did a great job on the installation of the windows, a sliding glass door, and the new siding. He and the crew were very professional. The installation of the windows was impeccable. We were very impressed with their work.It was a pleasure to work with the entire Cal Energy team. We highly recommend that you give them a call should you need any windows or sliding glass doors replaced in your home. Dave’s demeanor and professionalism made this whole process very smooth and easy.

Roof and Windows: the guys just finished my new roof -- Sam, John, and Oscar were fast, efficient, precise, and cleaned up after themselves. The salesperson, Mike, made good recommendations to help me save some money. He helped me select a heat-reflective product because I dont think Sacramento is going to get any cooler. Gen, in the office, helped me with financing finding some eco funds to help keep the costs down.Ask for a sample of the roofing material. The color is not quite what I expected, but I like it better than it appears in the brochure.Overall, the whole process was easy -- facilitated by the crew at CECS from the first inquiry through the contracts, financing, and installation.. . . can hardly wait for my windows to arrive.UPDATERoof last month and windows finished this week. What a team! They helped me find good financing and did all the paperwork. Easy peasy. My new windows are beautiful replacements for drafty 60-year old single pane windows and sliders. They put in 12 windows and two sliders in just a day and a half. They are beautiful. I can already see the difference in the temperature of my home. They look great inside and out. Im leaving a couple of windows that face the backyard uncovered so they show from the inside. Installers Ishar, Jose, and Miguel worked fast, expertly, and courteously. I had a problem with the thermostat at my house. I contacted CECS and the person who helped me scheduled an appointment for me the next day. The people who solved the “problem” were James and Jake, nice, friendly and organized people. James answered all my questions and very kindly gave them to me. I also asked him for advice about the ideal temperature for the house, about the filters, etc. and at the same time he was training a new guy, Jake. Both did a great job, 100% recommended.

CECS quickly responded and we were able to set up an appointment within a few days. Felipe who provided us with our quote was very knowledgeable and informative. The quote we received was very affordable compared to competing companies. When it came to installation Turbo, Jose, and Oscar were the best team we could have hoped for! They were prompt , very communicative, efficient, and detailed oriented! Their attention to detail really was outstanding, if an issue arouse they were very professional and informative about what was happening. After each day they left no mess and wiped down each window! I really am very impressed with this team. After inspection Dave and Mike came to finish the details and like Turbo and his team they were prompt, meticulous, and did an exceptional job. Our heat went out on Saturday and by Thursday we had a brand new heating and air-conditioning unit installed by James and Mitch. Originally was in contact with Gary who did an assessment on our ducts in the home. Was impressed with his consultative approach that 2 years later we got back in touch to install new windows. Same great approach, and breakdown of what CECS provides (breakdown of products, warranties, loan options). All was presented very clearly. The loan side was AWESOME in selecting options. What was most impressive was the installation by Omar and Alonso. The work was done with such great detail, and communicated options to work around wood frames. Lastly, had our screen gate needing a repair, and was able to get a new screen and installed by Omar again. Coordination from Hailey was very much appreciated, communicating dates/times, and confirming to the day of service. Comfortably would work with them for all home services in the future. We are so happy with our new HVAC system from CECS.Our 33-year-old system broke July 3 during a big heat wave. Not the best time to contact HVAC companies! After getting quotes and input from two highly rated HVAC companies, we decided to contact CECS. They installed our dual pane windows and sliding doors years ago (see earlier review about that), and we have never had an issue with them. They had been great to work with, and recent reviews confirmed that they still were great.Benjamin promptly came and was so informative, determining which system was best for us and why. The other two companies sent salespeople, whereas Benjamin is a real HVAC installer who knows the business. He recommended American Standard, which we had learned from research was one of the highest rated systems.Benjamin contacted the American Standard factory and put a hold on the system we chose to be sure it would be available if we selected CECS. Anyone doing home improvements knows part availability is a huge issue the past 3 years.We signed the contract on the spot, and CECS set up a portable room AC a few hours later to ensure we could sleep cooly again.The installation team (Josh, Mitch and Nick) were amazing, they were on time every day, polite, careful with our home and cleaned up every day. They even painted the outside cord cover to match our house and replaced our broken door to the scuttle attic.To top it off, CECS and American Standard (HVA System) warranties were better than proposed by both other companies.

Everyone within the company treated me more as a friend or family member over just another customer. Not only did they get my AC back up and working extremely quickly during a heat-wave, but the Sales Associate Ben who I initially met with to discuss my concerns regarding my unit, was the most ethical person I have ever met. Ben knows the business from the ground up, and it was apparent. He was not quick to jump the gun and recommend I get a new unit (quite the contrary), he wanted to look into what they could do for me to stay within what I could afford (but also be realistic to find a trustworthy solution).Jamie who I dealt with from the administrative side of the house was extremely efficient, friendly, and down to earth when it came to discussing my billing and permitting questions. The folks who performed the work on my home were punctual and communicative when it came to letting me know that another job was running long, so they would get there as soon as humanly possible. We had the pleasure of working with CECS recently for both our windows and our water heater. I probably asked Ben Young a 1000 questions about a new heat pump hybrid water heater, among other projects. Although I didnt end up with quite the right mix of energy efficiency projects to get rebates, Ben had a solid breakdown of options if I added in a couple of other upgrades. Dave Robson fielded at least as many of my questions about new windows and was a joy to work with throughout the process. Their patience was legendary and response times on texts, calls, and e-mails outstanding.Jason Kompa (Komp Construction) and his son ended up doing the install on the water heater and an EV circuit and were fast, professional, and tidy. They also didnt mind my endless bevy of questions.On the windows side of the project, Rafael & Ernie were about as tidy as could be with all of the stucco work that needed to be done for our new construction windows. True craftsman! Inside the building, David did a lovely job with the drywall and texture match after we had to alter a couple of minor architectural details.Turbo (Ismael) and Jose were very efficient with the window install. Whats more, when I asked about how to take care of some minor construction messy spots and how to clean them up myself, I came back to find that Turbo took it on himself to clean up messes that werent his to begin with!Outstanding service throughout the process, in our estimation. They werent the lowest bid we received but well definitely use them in the future. Finally, Id note that Ive never had a construction project in any house that Ive lived in or worked on that didnt have a bump somewhere. Every contractor is great when things are going smooth. The differences Ive seen have all come down to how the contractors handled the bumps. With COVID impacts to building material prices, availability, and transport, I can say that these guys handle the oddball issues with the best of them.

This is not your typical review. I am so thankful to Hailey at California Energy Consultant Services. I read their flyer that showcased Simonton products and reached out to them. I explained to them that I had started working with Cornerstone Building Brands out of Parkensburg, WV on August 14, 2021 to try and replace my upstairs half moon bay window that had cracked. Despite my many calls and texts sent for an update of when my window would be ready, this other company failed to communicate with me. That is when I reached out to CECS for help. I spoke to Hailey and explained my situation. Immediately, Hailey Miller along with Jamie Miller and Dottie Higbee all became my advocates. They sent emails to this other company on my behalf and cced me in all of them. With their emails, my window has finally been replaced by the other company. I used Cal Energy for my windows on my duplex 10 years ago so when it was time to replace my HVAC I gave them a call. I learned that SMUD was offering amazing rebates for HVAC, insulation, water heaters and electrical panels and that I could get most of the rebates for both sides of my duplex. Of course this sounds too good to be true, but it was absolutely true. I hired CECS to do the complete package switching over to all electric and upgrading the electrical panels on both sides of my 60 year old duplex. Jamie the manager of the department reached out to me to go over all the details and how the project would flow, and we set a schedule. All the workers and installers ( Jason, John, Joe, Johnny and Cody ) were very efficient, friendly, and all and all great to work with. CECS even took care of all the paperwork for the SMUD rebates. I couldnt be happier with them as a company and would recommend them to any one looking to do a HVAC or home performance project.

Just amazing service and integrity!we recently had to replace the gas control valve on our central heater for $343, and then it conked out again a month later. the original work was done by Youngs Heating & Air, but they recently went out of business. several of their staff have moved to California Energy. the technician who came out (Tyler) told us that his new employer would cover the warranty for the failed valve, even though it was by the previous company that went out of business.we are now back to enjoying toasty warm air from the furnace, and amazed by the generosity of California Energy who covered a warranty that they didnt have to.now that shows integrity, send em your business!

Great people, great company. CECS was recommended by a trusted friend and Im very happy he did. From the start, Gary was more like a good neighbor than a salesman. We talked about my needs in an older home and settled in on the windows and doors that would work best. Installation day arrives. Alonso and Omar show up and begin work. These guys are a team and well versed in what they do. They had to work with another company that was doing the stucco work and it seemed like one big happy family. It was 103 degrees that day and they hammered through it. Alonso and Omar shared the whats and whys as they worked. It was like having good friends that cared about you and your home, come over and work on your house. I cant say enough good about these guys. When they were done, everything was cleaned. You couldnt tell they were there, except now you had new windows! These are the people you want to do your windows and doors. I highly recommend them for anything you may need them for.

I got 3 window quotes from pushy aggressive sales people before calling this company Then there was Felipe from Cal Energy exteriors.He was polite and represented this company so well with a great price. What an amazing refreshing way to do business! I did not sign an agreement that day and he left me with the bid but it didn’t take long and called him the next day .There prices are lower for the SAME PRODUCTS you see advertised on TV with other companies by a lot. Then the installers showed up and in half a day Ismar and Jose did a beautiful job even rehung my blinds. They are amazing. The windows are soundproof have a 60 yr transferable warranty and look incredible. Thank you 10/10

California Energy Consultant far exceeded our expectations The siding was done by Artists, true master craftsmen. The new roof was completed within 3 or 4 days and they put finishing touches on, on a Sunday! The house is so airtight now, over a 30% improvement of when we started. The windows and doors are beautiful, and what a pleasure it is to have screens. We have a brand new house to come home to!

This company from initial contact to final installation shows how it should be done. Not only were the estimates a fraction of others but they supplied Anderson products, some of the best in the industry. Installation was fast and had very little impact on our home. The installers were experienced and each evening they cleaned up any materials used that day. I found in talking to them they had worked for the company for over ten years which shows a well running company to keep qualified technicians on staff for that long. The rating should realistically be six stars.

California Energy Consultant Service just installed a new 2-ton heat pump to replace my 38-year-old unit. I had received 4 quotes from SMUD approved contractors and CECS was by far the best of the 4. Their estimate was incredibly thorough, detailing the exact model, SEER rating and thermostat. They did not bad mouth their competitors unlike JR Putman and Bell Brothers (whose estimates came in at almost $4,000 higher with lesser quality equipment).Not only was CECS’s pricing very competitive, their sales rep Felipe Ruelas was great to work with, always responding timely manner to any questions. He even showed up the day of the install to ensure things were going as planned.The technician James and his assistant Jake were very professional, resourceful, hard workers, quick to find solutions to any challenges they encountered. Their jobs are not easy and I had a great deal of respect for what they do by the end of install.My only complaint was that I had to follow up with the office staff a few times after not hearing back from them. A couple texts to Felipe resolved the issues.Highly recommended!

Because they had lifetime window and screen they were a no brainer. 2 years ago the back slider was having difficulties and they came out ordered a new 8 foot slider and installed . This review is for Mike from CESC.Mike was the consultant assigned for the yearly tune up for my HVAC system installed by CESC. I was so lucky that mike could discover a huge problem of the unit which accumulated water in the drain Pan. Then he did the level adjustments and we waited for couple of weeks. Other than that, He could discover some problems in the mother boards and the fan motor electricity consumptions and he replaced them and made sure everything worked fine. Mike had to visit my system multiple times to get everything corrected and he did a very good job as well as kept me updated on everything in detail. I love my whole house fan! PrIor to installation, I was concerned about my indoor air quality because I have allergies. I was also aware my electric bill would be climbing high in summer with the rate increase. I have actually noticed a reduction in my allergy symptoms, reduction in my electric bills, and NO extra dust in my house that people thought I would have. The cool air helps me sleep better at night too. It’s nice coming home to a cool home after work when it has been a triple-digit day! I had an issue that was 1/1,000 and left some water damage to the house. It took awhile for CECS and homeowners to work out the finances. When it was all said and done, the owner of CECS still came out, went over everything that happened and went above and beyond to make sure everything was squared away for us. We have had all the windows in our house, and sliding glass door replaced by CECS and would highly recommend them.For those wondering we went with the top end double pane and gas filled (I think it was argon?) Windows, and the immediate change in temp in the house was noticeable. Cooler in tje summer and warmer in the winter, they were a great upgrade.
