    I do recommend Olson Solar Energy, the warranty, quality of products they’re using and price speak for themselves. Check out others systems who have had theirs installed by them first if you are unsure-However this was my experience- Initially communication was great from the initial salesman I worked with, receiving the quote they were the most timely and responsive. Had the best system for my needs and the install/hookup was done about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Project manager seemed professional and everything seemed like it was going to be a very good experience, up until after the second payment was made after install and electric hookup. The fourth picture shows a still incomplete item on my roof (as of 12/16/24) not allowing a panel to be secured completely to my roof and the box being exposed. There was also an issue with an electrical utility hookup that took 3 weeks for an electrician to come back to fix due to availability(which is understandable and I don’t hold that against them, it was an honest mistake and didn’t harm the system or hold up solar production at all).Attempting communication with my project manager after install has been on the more difficult side and has been the frustrating part of this entire experience, I could deal with everything else (since the other small items were no one’s fault) but the lack of communication, no. Suffice to say I am disappointed in the lack of communication. I had all of my microinverters go from producing 300+ watts down to 10 watts, I called Olson Solar on Friday 12/13/24 and they just said they would create a ticket for it. I called called enphase (the software monitoring company) the next day and they got it corrected on 12/14/24 after about 35 minutes on the phone. I understand they may be busy, but that’s no excuse when customers pay for this type of service and warranty to come with it, especially owning this system less than 2 months. I expect communication, I’ve had to call, text, email and even then I have not received responses.The office ladies have always been helpful when I call. I can always get ahold of them.Just wanted to share my personal experience. Again, I have had a great experience working with the salesman, the install team, the electricians etc, just the lack of communication and not being kept informed these last 6 weeks about when my project is going to be 100% completed since I’ve made 100% of the payment and with these last few issues has been irritating.Otherwise I do like my system, I think the microinverters, panels and the gateway are all performing great and would recommend them and work with them again as long as the communication aspect is addressed.

    This is one of those rare companies that really do exactly what they say they will do for their customer. The over all experience my wife and I had with the solar panel install was great.From the start with the sales rep coming out to our home to answer our many, many questions and actually listening to those questions and getting an understandable response, our project kicked off with a sense of getting a value added package to our home. It only went up from there with us being assigned and meeting with our project manager at our home we were given a single person whom we could deal with for any questions and scheduling of crews. We were given a time line to expect our project way points to happen and it was exceptionally accurate. The crews and people we dealt with were courteous, friendly and respectful of our home and property. I have been non stop talking about Olson Solar since the install and expect to continue to do so for the foreseeable future.Thank you Alisa and everyone at Olson for the great experience!

    I am very satisfied with all the professional services Olson Solar Energy provided on my solar project as well as with the Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative who got the system activated promptly after finally receiving the delayed site inspection approval by Adams County.     Great job putting up our solar panels. It was a small job. Panels put up in less than a day. Electricians followed in less than a week. Shortly after that we were up and running.

    Olson was the only solar company that really listened to us and our solar needs. The other two we considered were recommending a build out to meet our current solar needs ONLY, even after we mentioned the possibility of purchasing an electric vehicle; which we purchased before the installation of the panels was completed.     On Friday, July 30, our roof-mounted solar energy system was commissioned. Not only was I thrilled seeing our system producing enough power to run my home, I was also pleased with the work and dedication of the management and staff of Olson Solar Energy. I was never left wondering when work would begin or proceed through racking, hanging the panels, connecting the system to my existing electrical meter, or commissioning. Cameron kept me informed through weekly updates. He and his office staff were always available for questions. I give kudos to the installation staff that worked in extreme heat to rack my system and install the panels. They were always pleasant during our interactions, cognizant of keeping the workplace clean, and respected my roof. I would strongly recommend Olson Solar Energy for your solar energy needs.

    Once they received the second payment which took it over 80% of total they seemed to not care how long it takes to get the final hookup to the utility. Everything has been completed including a few fixes that the city electrical inspector ask to be completed. Its now approaching a month and I still do not have a date to get hooked up to the utility.

    Our Solar VentureThis year we finally made the decision to purchase a photovoltaic system. We’ve experienced the Covid19 delays, my surgery, a hailstorm of 2 inch stones and through it all Olson’s has been a good company to work with.We purchased this house and moved here early in 2019. The orientation of the roof was favorable for solar. We gathered information, but didn’t feel confident enough in 2019 (to take advantage of the beneficial programs). Then, in early March 2020, we felt confident enough to move forward. We purchased a system from Olson Solar. They did not have the lowest cost system per Kw, but they are nearby and were very helpful. We also spoke with a couple of their previous customers who were very satisfied.Then Covid19 hit. The project was put on hold, although the materials had been ordered. A few weeks later, solar was placed on the “Essential” list and the project continued to move forward, with the solar panels being installed in May. All through this time Olson gave updates on the project status which made us feel more confident in selecting them.In late May, I had my knee surgery (which had been COVID postponed). A week later, we had a hail storm with 2 inch hail. I couldn’t inspect the panels myself, but Olson’s checked the panels two days later and found no damage. (The panels are tough, plus the hail came from the North). Shortly thereafter the panels were connected, and Xcel started getting our electricity.Although the panels were undamaged, the roof was not so fortunate. So the solar panels needed to be removed to allow the shingles to be replaced. Again, Olson was a good partner. They removed the panels one afternoon, the roofer re-shingled the house the next day and Olson’s reinstalled the panels.All through this, Olson’s has been helpful in getting the permits filed, helping with the rebate and tax credit programs and communicating well. They also provided an interesting software package that allows us to monitor the system. Olson Solar has been a very positive supplier. Now, only time will tell if the system pays off as we expect it to.

    Originally reached out to Olson Solar in December 2020 about installing a system on our residential house. I was pleased when Mike Kerska from the Olson team took the time to stop by and explain the whole system and process, rather than just emailing a proposal based on a Google maps image of the house as other companies did.In April 2021, we decided to pull the trigger and move forward with the installation. Emily Windsor was our project manager and she was excellent throughout the permitting process (which Olson handled completely), ainstallation, electrical hook up and final activation. The team worked around our roof getting replaced the day before installation (hail in late April) and were very efficient.If you’re interested in installing solar and looking for a local, professional and competent team, Olson Solar is that company.I highly recommend them.

    The experience overall was a great one, with everyone at the business very positive and determined to get the work done in spite of difficult November weather. I specifically chose Olson because they are a local company and I wanted to support that in our community, and it was a good choice. They were a very new company when we contracted with them, and there were a few rough edges here and there (mostly related to inconsistent communication about progress with permits and scheduling), but I am guessing most of these have been ironed out based on how much better communication has been in the end phases of the process. The install itself went seamlessly and the electrical hookup and utility box change followed quickly. We LOVE our install and it is very clear that Oslon is an in-demand company these days, making us all the more thankful that they focused on getting our job done right. Thanks guys!

    I searched broadly for a solar energy installer. At one point, I was dealing with companies as far away as Chicago and Minneapolis St.Paul. I was extremely hesitant to order anything from a company with no local reps or installers. I was overjoyed to find a local company.They helped me with every step of the way. We worked through the design of my system. I have some unusual needs and they were able to accommodate them. I insisted on a battery back up system, in addition to grid tie, which forced them to produce a different design than they were used to dealing with. Our only hiccup to date is waiting for Tesla to deliver the Power Wall we started talking about last summer. The installation went smoothly. The electrician they deal with is great. I had extra needs, which we were able to factor in with my solar installation. The added cost for that was reasonable. They are receptive to suggestion. They are careful. They are responsive, attentive, and thoughtful. They explain things well.Living in the country, I had to go through a rezoning process to be able to build my panels. They helped me with the proposal and came to the rezoning hearing with me. I was eligible for a Wisconsin Focus on Energy rebate and they made sure I knew how to apply for it. (I have the check in hand!) They stand read to help my accountant with my solar energy system tax credit.They have exceeded my expectations.My electric bill has been cut immediately, in the darkest and rainiest days of winter and early spring.The system works. The people are great. I want to see them succeed and make the system as affordable as possible, for as many people as possible.
