    We have used this company many times. We are having a total kitchen renovation and chose YC Electric to do all of the electrical work. They listened patiently to our concerns about the type and placement of lights, outlets and switches. Once decisions were made, they were efficient and neat in the actual work.We can’t say enough about how good these people are to work with3/2 UpdateJin and Craig were here today Saturday) from about 3-7. Recessed and undercabinet lights were installed along with smart switches. Wires for power to the island were pulled and placed inside the cabinets.The care and attention to detail by everyone at YC Electric is as good as it can get!3/11 UpdatePower and receptacles installed today. You won’t find a more patient and meticulous electrician!3/14 Update. Our Wolf range and convection steam oven are being installed tomorrow. Yi, the owner, made time to come by today to make sure the power outlets were in place. In a total kitchen renovation, the electrical work has been the only thing we haven’t had issues with.3/17 Update. Jinn and Craig spent several hours on a Saturday doing all the finishing work that makes the job look fantastic.3/26. Simply the best!10/1/24.     I had YC Electric come out to look at an issue I was having for my breaker panel. They arrived quickly and knew exactly what the issue was within minutes. I was provided with the reason for why it happened and how to resolve it. They took care of me, fixed everything up, and left the place spotless after. I was even given a detailed report of the repair done. They were great and I would hire them again!

    The installers were very professional and did a nice clean job- very thorough. I appreciate the fact that they installed an outlet in the fuse box cavity so that the Verizon plug wasn’t popping out of the wall. I didn’t ask for it, they just did it and t that makes me extra happy. The outlets in the shed and at the fence look great. All in all it came out better than I had anticipated.

    Prompt, competent, and responsive to small requested tweaks in the course of the installations (re-routing an exterior cable, switching to a dimmer, better-securing a plug). They proposed and executed the work for far less than other bids, by recommending against un-needed upgrades. Everything -- including in particular the parts of the wiring that I was nervous about (old house) -- was done very capably and competently. All works great now.

    I just finished first batch of tasks with them and I really enjoy working with YC electric. They are very considerate when providing estimates which they would go deep into why I need to do each task and help to avoid any unnecessary work, e.g. no need to change gfi in the area we may renovate/redesign in near future. The electrician came to do the work also very professional and they did a very clean and nice work which I don’t feel they are rushing.

    Updated for 2024: Impressed once again!Weve been working with YC for years now on small (and big!) electrical issues as they crop up in our century-old home, and every time we are impressed anew by his excellent service, attention to detail, open and clear communication, and friendly attitude. He is competence and kindness combined.Recently, an outdoor spotlight failed far too early into its lifespan. Yi fit us in when he was in the neighborhood, popping by at 7 a.m. before he went to his next job, and did the work free of charge under warranty. Now thats service! While he was there, he was also able to pop a busted electrical box back into the wall and secure it before it did further damage to the drywall.In prior visits, he has done a wide variety of work, including installing new light fixtures (which look and work great!), wiring up a whole-home battery backup system, and giving us the best advice ever for easy patio lighting that saved a /ton/ of drywall work. YC can do it all!Five stars-- wed give ten if we could!

    These guys are awesome. From beginning to end, they were professional, incredibly creative, trustworthy, and resourceful. They set up an EV charging station for us, and while they were at it, future-proofed our home (at our request, the did not up-sell) for moving away from natural gas dependency. I’m so happy we booked them, and I can’t believe the incredible work they did with minimal disruption and mess in only five hours.

    I cant say enough good things about YC Electric. They fixed several electrical issues at my home couple months ago. During a power outage after that, my porch lights went out and did not come back on even when the power returned. YC Electric came out the afternoon I called (even though I told them it was not urgent). Mr. Yi diagnosed and fixed the problem in a matter of minutes. He went above and beyond. Keep the inside of my house clean as they ran the cabling through the ceiling and made it very easy to patch up after they were done.     We have worked with YC Electric for years. Yi and his team have done multiple jobs for us and all excellent service. If you are looking for a go-to electrician his is your guy. He has replaced our electric panel, installed a Tesla charger, fixed some previous owner handiwork and rewired all our ceiling lights when we did a basement remodel. He works within your budget and helps you make quality decision. You just text him and send some photos and he lets you know when he can visit for a quote or do the job. So simple!

    Great communication, great price. We hired YC to install recessed lighting in our living room. We communicated through text to set it up and the team didnt have to come here in advance to do an estimate, which was great during the pandemic. The job took less than 4 hours during which the two-person team wore PPE. I had initially planned to hire a handyman to repair the drywall after the lights were installed, but there was only one small hole afterward that my husband patched himself. We were so happy with the work, we are hiring them again for lighting in another room!

I loved being able to text and email him photos of what needed to be done. Based on the photos and emails, he saved me a lot of trouble and money explaining why something could not be done. When he arrived on site, he knew exactly what needed to be done. It proved a little more challenging which he was up definitely up to. He didnt leave until he determined that he had addressed all our concerns and that there was nothing else that might need repairing. And he couldnt have been nicer, kinder or more patient!     Yi did a fantastic job installing a 240V receptacle in my garage and repairing a janky light switch in my bathroom.     Im so thankful I read all the reviews and decided to reach out to YC Electric for a quote to complete some electrical repairs at my new house!I was able to email them photos of my punch list items and Yi and Kamilla were super responsive by email and phone to confirm the scope of work. Yi helped me understand which items were safety issues that I should prioritize vs. which items were minor that I could resolve myself to save money.After receiving an inspection report and two separate electrical quotes from other companies that were wildly different, I requested an onsite visit to assess my punch list items and both Yi and Kamilla were understanding of my concerns and super accomodating. I appreciated how kind and considerate Yi was in explaining technical things to me in ways that made sense, and also how thorough and professional he was in completing an assessment in-person. He definitely put my mind at ease!The quote I received was in line with what I expected and scheduling the repairs was quick. It was also easy to add items to the scope after approving the initial estimate (because sleeping on things will do that to you). The electricians arrived on time, were super kind and professional, and did a great job. We reviewed my punch list items before and after their work began to make sure everything was completed as expected, and before they left, they cleaned up after themselves, so you couldnt even tell they were here all day.Overall, a great experience and a company Id recommend.

We have a closet that has an electric panel and they fished the wires from there to the garage through a tiny pinhole. Now, how they got that wire through… is beyond me, cause I can’t even get the drawstring from my sweatpants to go back through the hole. He was recommended to me from my partners pottery studio where Yi has been the electrician since 2014.     We had a great experience working with YC electric. We called them for help installing a 240 volt outlet as we changed from gas to induction. They made every step of the process easy and were very professional, and were able to fit us in quickly. After installation, I noticed that the lights were flickering in a basement stairwell, and Yi came out immediately to check it out.     The Short Version: Efficient, Friendly, Responsive, Professional (need I say more?)The Long Version:I had two upgrades I had Yi take care of. The first was a service upgrade from 100 to 200 amps. The other was the installation of an EV charger. The outdoor outlet I was using to slow charge my EV failed so I called Yi and he got me scheduled the next day. What impressed me is Yis team did the work the right way, not the easy way. They could have simply buried the electrical wire for the EV charger and ran it around my house but instead they elected to run it through my crawl space which is a much more difficult procedure but produces a much safer and better looking result. I had some concerns regarding the job and Yi took the time to show up in person to address them. Good contractors are hard to find these days I now have one I can safely recommend for electrical work.

Professional, honest and highly knowledgeable are three words that immediately come to mind when I think of YC and its owner Yi. My first encounter with Yi was right after we bought two new Casablanca fans and my wife wanted them installed immediately, if not sooner. When I initially called Yi and told him what I needed, he was honest about their current workload and very kindly demurred because He would not be able to do the job in a timely manner. After persisting, Yi said that if I didn’t mind being a” fill-in “ he would take us on. He managed to get the job done much more quickly than I imagined and in a neat and clean manner. The fan in our family room was a replacement that is mounted roughly fifteen feet high on a cathedral ceiling. It was Yi, not me or my wife, that noticed the fan was off center in the room—I never thought I would find a greater perfectionist than my wife, but Yi is. Finally, the value for the cost was fantastic! YC may not be the lowest price in town but you will be very happy after having them do some work for you.     We used YC electric to update a few things on a 1948 house we just purchased. Yi and his crew were professional, prompt, and on time. It took a few weeks to nail down a scheduled date, but it was a big job during the holiday season, which included a new main service line and addition of a 50A outlet for an induction stove. The crew also installed a new outlet in a desired spot, fixed a dead dimmer switch, and answered several questions I had. Kamilla in the main office was very responsive via email to get things scheduled. I have no complaints about the work and would use YC electric again. 5/5 stars

    We recently used YC Electric for a variety of household electrical projects--diagnosing a potential electrical problem with an appliance, replacing two outlets, repairing a light fixture, and advising us re: best solution for problems with a bathroom light/fan fixture. The experience was extremely positive--Yi was able to come much sooner than expected, walked through the list of projects, discussed steps needed, showed me the fixes afterwards (and how to use a new external outlet he installed), and did everything efficiently and thoughtfully.     Yi came out to help fix some failing outdoor outlets on our home in NE DC.
