Wesley and his team (Daniel and Omar) did a whole-house rewire to replace remaining knob-and-tube and other ungrounded wiring in our new 100+ year old house in Oakland. We got 3 other quotes for the work, and they varied significantly in price. Alley was the most affordable, and it came with the added bonus that we found Wesley the most down-to-earth and likable. He and his wife Alina make a great team --theyre somewhat old school, and came by the house several times to collect our signed contract and payments.The work took 2 weeks (10 days, Monday-Friday) for our 1800sqft home (+ unfinished basement and garage), which was about 3 days longer than predicted, but it was a big job! Daniel and Omar are two of the hardest working people weve come across. There were several days that they arrived at 7:30am and didnt leave until after 9pm. But whatever it took, they got the job done in a reasonable amount of time, were patient (especially when I was looking over their shoulders out of sheer curiosity) and communicative, and had good insights on what made sense (where lights/switches/etc should go) when we needed their opinions. Finally, they were both super pleasant to be around (which is important when theyre spending so much time in your space!)Two weeks after the job wrapped up, we actually asked Wesley to come back to put in a few more outlets and 6 recessed lights in our living room. The guys did a great job again. Were so happy we did this --we absolutely love our lights, and are really relieved we did the work before closing up the walls.Theres no doubt in my mind that we would work with Alley again, should a need arise.

Long overdue review. I’ve been using Alley Electrical for all electrical work at our three properties over a 20 year span! Most recently, I had about 18 recess lights either replaced or put in along with 6 sconces to replace for a condo we’re getting ready to rent or sell. Worked with Enrique to start the process, gave me great suggestions in our initial walkthrough…was not salesy at all, just listened to what i was trying to do and offered me options. Schedule about two weeks out and got the job finished in one day with a full crew. It’s getting hard to find reliable trades people in recent years (i think they’re all prioritizing high-value-jobs) so I found it refreshing that AlleyElectric was responsive and punctual to all of our meetings. Highly recommend them for your electrical needs!

Worked with Alley Electric to bring our house up to code. This involved, updating the electrical panel, replacing the knob and tube wiring amongst many other things (a big job). They were very professional and very helpful all the way through the project (even with PG&E who were less than useful). Shout out to Wesley, Alina, and the guys who did the work on the house (so sorry I forgot your names, its been a couple of weeks)

Alley Electric installed a Level 2 EV charger and GFCIs throughout the house. The work was high quality and done as scheduled. We had an issue a few weeks later where the EV charger kept flipping its breaker. When I emailed them, they came out and replaced the defective breaker within two days free of charger. Would not hesitate using them again.

We used Alley Electric for multiple projects over the past 10+ years for both indoor and outdoor electrical projects. He has installed at least 10 light fixtures, added outlets, rewiring, and ceiling can fixtures. We have never had any issues with his work and have always been extremely pleased.Wesley always provides clear competitive itemized estimates, he is fair and honest, his crew arrives on time, and they work efficiently. My husband and I highly recommend Alley Electric and will continue calling Wesley for our future electrical projects.

Had an electrical emergency. Wesley came by within only an hour of two or calling. He was extremely professional and diligently looked over the situation and solved the issue. He was also very friendly and helped educate me on certain re the houses electrical set-up. Will absolutely be calling Alley again when I need electrical help.

Wesley and Alina did all of the electrical work for a Guest House I added in the back of our property. The work they did was exceptional, passed all inspections the first time, and included running utilities underground, all of the bells and whistles besides the basic lights and outlets, including heated floors, motion security lights, and extra outdoor outlets. Alley scheduled us a date for a new 240 watt outlet to accommodate an induction range. They arrived late in the afternoon and worked until they had it done. They were very neat. Later, when our range arrived, and did not work (!), they were super helpful in helping us understand the problem— and teach the Frigidaire installers what the problem was. Throughout that problem, they were very helpful over the phone, exchanging photos, answering questions. My only peeve was that they worked so late into the evening during install that we missed our dinner. Had we known, we’d have planned ahead. We’re oldsters spoiled vs ‘set in our ways’ and we would have appreciated knowing this could happen. When we mentioned it, later, and as good naturedly as we possible could, it was not well received. We tried to say, ‘we understand’ that they keep to a four day work week and I applaud that. We’ll, anyway, the work was done with excellent results otherwise and they came through later like super duper champs!! I’ve recommended them to friends. I recommend them to you.

Alley Electric has really helped us a lot! Old house. Old wiring. Alley fixed a lighting problem that dated from the last century! While they were here they noticed the electrical panel interfacing with PG&E was steadily melting itself into a colossal fire hazard! Alley replaced the panel, coordinated approval from the City of Berkeley and put us right with PG&E. Totally the highest possible rating.

Alley Electric exceeded all expectations I could ever have!Starting from the beginning. I was looking for the company to install AFCI outlets and breaker switches for new dish washer, refrigerator and food disposal at my new property. Alley was a third company that came to our house for an estimate. They came on time and was extremely careful of listening to all our needs and ideas and they offered the solution with very reasonable pricing, no one offered before. A few months back we got the switches in our home replaced and they did a marvelous job ensuring everything was throughly done.We also had a ceiling light installed in one of the rooms and that was also done perfectly.Not only that Wesley takes pride in his job snd ensures customer is totally satisfied.He has come to our home twice after the work was done to fine tune some additional requests. Michael and Chris both were so helpful and quick. We ran into a few problems and had to hunt for the source of the problem. Unfortunately, they had to go to the store to buy the waterproof cords, because the cords they were provided with were not waterproof like the ones Wesley wanted. Chris talked to my husband Ray about the extensive job that needs to be quoted for bringing in 200 amps. And two dedicated circuits. Also an upgraded electrical panel. The garage door switch now works too, yeah! They are very sweet and very knowledgeable electricians! Love them both. P.S. love Wesley too!

Everybody I interacted with at Alley Electric was fantastic. After putting out a last-minute request for a wall outlet installation to nearly a dozen different electricians, Wesley at Alley was the first to respond and provide a reasonable and fair quote for service. He was prompt in communication, and even worked with me on scheduling when I had to delay the install by an hour.Chris, who performed the work, was a rockstar. He was a consummate professional -- he knew what he was doing, was in and out in under an hour (!), and based on his skill, left the walls exactly as he found them -- with the addition of the new outlet and wall jack, of course. I couldnt be happier. And to boot, the price was very, very reasonable. I will absolutely use Alley in the future.

My fiancé and I couldnt be more happy with the work we had done by Alley Electric. From the initial contact over email, to the end of the job, it was an absolutely awesome experience all the way through.Wesley and his wife worked on the job here in San Jose on a Saturday morning, and got everything done before the afternoon. They were very professional, punctual for both the quote and the job itself, they helped to answer some additional questions I had, and also gave me some info about some future work we wanted to get done this year.For this job, I had a bunch of work done in my garage ( new light fixture, new dedicated circuit for tools, and a line and plug for our new dryer ) and had an outlet replaced in the master bedroom and it was all done very professionally and looked fantastic in the end. They managed to leave the garage and all areas they worked looking very clean, even on a terribly rainy day.I couldnt recommend Alley Electric more for any electric work you want to get done.

Very friendly and professional. Wesleys team completely rewired my 4 bedroom/ 2 bath house and did a great job. I initially took three quotes and Alley Electric was right in line with the second quote. My third quote was 3x the other two. The property is a rental and Wesley had to deal with a difficult tenant who was sometimes unreasonable. He handled the situation in a very professional manner. If I ever need electrical work done again I will call Wesley. Everything went surprisingly smoothly thanks to Alley Electric.

I am a repeat customer with Alley. I needed a motion sensitive light installed in new location. I was able to get an appointment quickly, about 7 days from when I submitted the form. I exchanged emails, with photos, per their request so that they had an idea of what might be involved ahead of time.This morning (22 October) I got a courtesy call as they were 15 minutes away from my house. They arrived right when they said, Jordan and Azu (sp?) . We talked about the placement. They discussed the installation, pipe versus UF wiring, with their boss - via text - before they proceeded.I think it was done in about 30 minutes? I went out and Jordan walked me through the installation, placement and settings. UF wiring was the preferred choice, since it runs under a deck and into a basement.As always Alley Electric provided reasonable, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable service.Thank you!

I was impressed with Alley Electric by my first encounter with the young lady in the office. She was friendly and personable. My impression only got better when I met the owner, Wesley. He was professional, polite, punctual and seems to honestly care about others.We needed to have aluminum wiring replaced with copper wire. We sought three estimates. Alley Electric/Wesley was clear in explaining what work needed to be done. Alley Electric was in mid range of the other two quotes. Wesley and his team arrived on time. His two workers were professional and polite. The timeframe for the job was on track, and they thoroughly cleaned up when finished.I will definitely use Alley Electric again, and have already referred them to my daughter. Alley Electric has been my go-to electrician since I first reached out to them in 2014. Last summer, my family moved from Union City to Fremont, and we wanted to get several light fixtures replaced in our new home. Alley Electric was the first company I reached out to for this latest job. They were super-responsive over email, getting a few additional details from me about the light fixtures to be replaced. With those details, they gave me a quote that was cheaper than I expected for the quality of service I knew they would provide. However, they were booked several weeks out, so Id have to wait about 3 weeks before they could come do the job.I contacted one other electrical company with 5-star reviews just to see what they would charge and whether they could potentially come out sooner. That other company was less responsive over email, and they quoted me a considerably higher price (like 1.5x what Alley Electric quoted). Though they did have same-week availability.I decided Alley Electric was worth the wait. When Wesley arrived, he completed the job efficiently, with high quality, and charged exactly what he quoted. I couldnt have asked for any better service, except for sooner availability of course! But Im not surprised that Alley Electric is in high demand. From my experience, their rates are great and the quality of their service is top-notch. They will continue to be the first company I reach out to for any electrical needs I have going forward.

I had been putting up with a bad circuit breaker (100 amps) that fed my workshop. Only half the circuits on the breaker were getting juice. Finally I called Alley. Wes stopped by to look at the breakers, then came back a few days later with a new one, and had it up an running in minutes. We had agreed on a fair price and I was very pleased to have my shop back.
