EDIT: It’s been over a year since I’ve needed a plumbing repair, but it’s Windheim to the rescue again. One week it was a leaky shower faucet, the next week a clogged kitchen sink. Kevin was sent over for the faucet and I requested him again for the kitchen sink. My sink happened to be a bit of a complex issue and it was resolved with the input of Tom and another plumber all together (if you have an old houses, you know how it can be). I couldn’t have asked for more from a company. I’ll ask for Kevin again and again as he is a good listener, thinks clearly and thoroughly through the problem, is very methodical, and cleaned everything up. He made sure you knew what was going on, how much it would cost, etc.EDIT: Steve came to the house to handle a separate issue several weeks after the call below. I have to say he explained what was going on so well that it has me understanding so much more about my house! I am thankful for this and is proposed solutions! Ill certainly ask for Steve again.-------------Two younger men left my house just now having solved the problem clog in my upstairs bathroom sink. The clog was in a challenging location in the drainage system of my house, and their problem solving was thoughtful and thorough. I was informed on everything and their clean up was superb! Super professional! Im so impressed!Also, Im the person who has people take their shoes off. They were so accommodating. Im also that person who asks questions at the end about what products they like to use to clean up after a greasy backed up sink. Im sometimes chatty. They were very patient with a customer like me and I truly appreciate it.

Windheim has been tending to our plumbing needs for nearly 10 years. They have done both repairs and maintenance work and we have come to rely on their great service at fair prices. Recently we had our annual cleaning done on the furnace. Kevin did a great job. He was polite, professional, and took his time to inspect and ensure that our equipment was properly serviced. I’m a big fan of Windheim Plumbing since our neighbor recommended them back when we first bought the house in 2019. Every technician that’s come over has been great—-always courteous and will offer tips and advice on how to problem-solve the little things. Today was no exception with Kevin and Hector who relit the pilot light under my water heater and then showed me how to do it myself and what to watch for when it seems like it isn’t working at first. We have lived in Nutley for 40+ years and have been a customer of Windheim for most of those years! Whenever we called for a repair, they were always courteous and most helpful. Through the years their plumbers have replaced hot water heaters, sump pumps, leaking faucets and came to our rescue unclogging our pipes! Emergencies were tended to asap and other tasks were scheduled at our convenience! The plumbers arrived on time, explained what needed to be done, work diligently and cleaned up when the job was completed.

Top of 9 year old water heater was leaking for some time, but got worse over the weekend. Called on Saturday for an appointment on Monday. Office called at 8 am to confirm an 8:15 appt. Frank and Hector assessed the situation and gave me the bad news. Quoted a fair price and had the new water heater installed in less than 90 minutes. Both were professional, courteous, and highly skilled. Would recommend them and the company highly.

The plumbers are very good about cleaning up after they have completed a job. I presently had an issue with my faucet and I contacted the office yesterday and was immediately provided with a service date for the following day. Ruben came addressed the issue and immediately was able to resolve the problem. He is one of the plumbers that I have dealt with over the course of the years. Didn’t try to upsell a whole new boiler. Really worked with me to fix the existing, whereas another provider would have tried to get $$$$ through a new boiler. I’ve used Windheim many times. They are great and I would highly recommend.

I write reviews with caution as they can both help or hurt a company. I had a new bathroom created from scratch and Windheim did all my plumbing. Definitely not the cheapest or most expensive but most important they took time to do it correct and actually showed up. Everything didnt go perfect because such as life things can go wrong. Here is the most important part of my review!!!! Tom made sure in the end everything was perfect and was accountable for his work. There is always temptation to point fingers and shy away from corrections and this was a stand up guy. A man of his word. My past experience with contractors in general has been if it doesnt go smooth its someone elses fault and they disappear. The work is great and super important you can trust they will do right by you.

Recently I woke up to a leaking hot water heater and It was clear the unit needed to be replaced. I called Windheim Plumbing and spoke with Tommy who was able to quote me a price over the phone and had a guy out to my house in less than 30 minutes. Tyler, the installer, couldnt have been more helpful. He was able to drain the old unit with zero mess, which wasnt an easy task being it was 14 years old and corroded. He was more than happy to answer my questions throughout the install process and took the time to show me how to operate the new unit once it was installed. What could have been a disaster turned into a minor inconvenience and I was back with hot water before lunch. Service like this will keep me returning to Windheim for any future plumbing and heating issues.

We had just moved into a new house. We called Windheim to get a 2nd opinion regarding an issue with a backed up shower drain. The first guy said the job would require replacing the drain entirely. Theyd also have to cut a hole in our kitchen ceiling to access the drain and quoted us close to $1500 for the job. Marco was able to fix the problem without having to do any of that. He figured out an alternative solution, and all at a small fraction of the quote wed previously gotten from the other guy. Problem solved. The shower works great. Marco is the best. Weve found our new neighborhood plumber.

Our issue was temporarily resolved (heat was restored!!!) and he referred us to someone who could address our major issue which was related to our chimney. Windheim plumbing is the absolute best. They have been servicing our (old) house in the Montclair area for 10+ years, as recently as a few weeks ago, and we are always impressed. As owners of an old home we deal with a lot of home-service providers, and none of them are as all-around capable, dependable, and a pleasure to work with as are the guys at Windheim. Two things really stand out. One, they are the type of people you dont mind inviting into your home: good-natured, responsive, efficient, clean, willing to answer all questions, and zero-attitude. Second, in ~10 years, the Team has never once tried to upsell us, stuff we dont need or any kind of pressure at all. We just had a service call from these guys this morning. They sent a tech named Ruben, he was an absolute ROCKSTAR. He got our steam heat system up and running and ready for cold weather. He fixed a few problematic valves on our radiators and reconditioned our boiler. He took his time, was very thorough, and careful. He gave me some useful advice for keeping the system running through the winter. I dont think Ill ever call a different company for heating or plumbing.

I received very good service from Windheim Plumbing. I called about a broken boiler was told owner would arrive in 30 minutes to give estimate and he did. (As anyone knows who deal with service companies, this is NOT always the case!) I agreed to have the job done and went to their office and received an itemized estimate/bill which also included the cost of possible complications that might arise. I was told the plumbers and boiler would be at my house at 8:30 am and they were there at 8:15! The plumber who installed the boiler was professional, knowledgeable and very courteous. He told me about a couple of problems with my radiators and made some thoughtful suggestions about other issues I had with frozen pipes. Just informational, not pushy. All in all, I had very good experience and I would highly recommend Windheim Plumbing.

Great experience with Windheim. Our boiler had to be replaced a few weeks ago. Friendly, courteous, and professional throughout the entire ordeal. They answered all of our questions and concerns we mightve had and resolved our heating problems within one work day. Also right on schedule. Windheim will definitely be my go to plumbing company from now on. Oh and they best Psegs price by about $2500. Cant really argue with that haha
