    Zack Jardin did a great job locating the leak that caused our water usage to double the last quarter. He also checked all our plumbing fixtures in the process and was able to replace one toilet tank water filling device. He also advised on future maintenance. All in all he was very helpful. I highly recommend him.

    These days, one can quickly line up a list of plumbing services using an app or one of those online review sites, and in the past we did our share of trying so looking for the most economical and quick solution to a problem (often seasonal disasters self-inflicted due to ignoring symptoms of small leaks, freezing temperatures, etc). Soon, we found that approach is a crapshoot at best - instead, it is best to have a relationship with the reputable local service for consistently superior solutions. For us, it has been Accurate Baker Elman based in Newton that gives us peace of mind through highly professional, reliable, and timely work. It was a freeze-ruptured hot-water pipe in the basement area two winters ago; This time, it was our old kitchen faucet that died and flooded part of the basement. I was initially in the dark as to the cause of the problem, wondering whether the leak was coming from the insink-erator or (God forbid!) cracked sewage pipe. But Mike Pascarelli, our go-to-guy in recent years, quickly found the cause literally within minute of his arrival, showed me the video of the issue in real time - no beating around the bush. Having regained the mental poise, I took the occasion to do some research to order the best upgrade for the dead faucet. Today, Mike came back and did a superb job of its installation. Another happy outcome!

    These guys are great. I used them recently to install a sink and a pump in my basement so I could continually drain my dehumidifier into the sink rather than having to dump it out 3+ times a day. They were super professional throughout the entire process: gave us lots of information and were responsive during the initial consultation, showed up exactly on time for the installation appointment, did the work well and quickly, and charged a fair amount. I will definitely use them again for plumbing work. It was also great of them to service East Boston (where I live) from Newton (where their HQ is).

    Great experience with Baker-Elman. The person answering the phone was friendly, helpful, and professional. She had me take a picture of our leaky toilet to be sure the plumber would have all the necessary parts for our service call. I was given a same day appointment in the afternoon but when a spot opened up earlier, they reached out - so I had a plumber at my home within 2 hours of my initial phone call. The plumber, Michael, was friendly and professional. The price was totally reasonable. All in all, I could not be happier.

    We have used Baker-Elman for over 30 yrs. They are always courteous and arrive when scheduled. Their service is top- notch. If they canā€™t fix an issue, they will tell you right away and recommend who to call. I noticed some reviewers criticize them for not being able to fix their issue, but I think thatā€™s an attribute. They wonā€™t try to fix something that doesnā€™t fall under their expertise.

    I called several plumbers to take care of an exhaust back draft from one of my older boilers. MassSave would not insulate my property until it was fixed and certified as having low carbon monoxide emissions. That means that the service person needed to have a meter to measure the emissions. Turns out that very few plumbers have the meter.After calling several plumbers, I called Baker-Elman and they knew exactly what was needed and their technician had the proper meter. Turns out that my 25 year old gas boiler had never been fully cleaned and their technician (Frank) could do it. They quoted me a price that I thought was a bit high, but I had no other option.Frank and a helper showed up as scheduled and took the boiler case off, showed me the soot built up inside proceeded to do a THOROUGH cleaning of the inside of the boiler as well as the flue pipe. After they were done, the 600ppm emission reading (6x higher than the practical maximum) came down to ZERO! Very impressive.Better yet, they charged me for the hourly rate quoted only for the time that they put in and the cost was only about 1/2 of the original quote. Great service, friendly & honest folks and Frank very competent. A bit expensive, but they carry a truck full of expensive parts and have to pay for insurance and all the other overhead that real businesses have to pay. For $300, they probably saved me the cost of a boiler and extended the life a few more years, too. Not a bad deal.Bottom line... I dont write lots of reviews, but after having problems with most small time plumbers over the years and numerous call backs with even one of the top big name companies that you might recognize from a local educational TV show that does home renovations, Baker-Elman impressed me as real trustworthy pros.

    I decided to switch from oil to gas in a multiunit building. Baker~Elman was awarded the job. Baker~Elman coordinated all parties, permitting with the towns plumbing inspector and the inspection, electrician, disposal company, and assisted me with the gas company. Basically, all I needed to do is unlock and open the doors.The new furnace fired up nicely.The old furnace which was made of cast iron was disassembled, and taken away without a trace. Hot water heater was also replaced, all within the timeframe quoted.I very much recommend that you consider Baker-Elman for your oil to gas conversion.
