    ProTEK is the best local exterior paint company ever!We contacted the owner, John, last August to get a quote to paint the exterior of our home. John himself came out to do the quote, and he was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our questions. Even though all three owners of the home didn’t decide to move forward with the job until the next April, John honored our previous quote and met with the other two owners to go over any hesitations and questions.Our house was not a straightforward job - it’s a three-family house built in 1894 with wood siding that had not been painted or maintained in ~20 years. However, John and his team of painters and carpenters made the house look brand new in just a few weeks. And the price was extremely competitive.We truly could not have asked for a better experience than what we got with ProTEK. We would recommend them to anyone!

    Had my entire exterior done. The team from ProTEK was easy to work with, did a fantastic job, kept the site clean during the work, and left it spotless. We have shingle siding, a lot of trim, a lot of woodwork, and wooden outdoor ceiling over our deck, and everything was done very professionally, and a reasonable price. Would absolutely use them again, and would recommend to anyone considering having their house painted.

    We were looking for someone to remove popcorn ceilings as it made our home look dated. After speaking with several other painters and contractors, I found ProTEK. We liked how John detailed the job and stated he and his team have experience in removing popcorn ceilings.     Protek Paint was the company I used to paint the exterior of my house. Throughout the whole process from the initial contact, consultation, quotation, to the actual completion of the project, I as very pleased with the professionalism and responsiveness of John Guarino, the owner of the company. John’s team not only did the paint job, but also help to address some carpentry works that required maintenance. The team did a very quality job in a timely manner and cleaned up the work site after the job was done.When I was looking to have my house painted over, I contacted 4 different companies.     From start to finish, we had a great experience with ProTEK Painters of Newton. Their website was very clear, detailed, and had specific information for exactly what we needed, which was painting of our aluminum siding. When we made an appointment, we experienced the same clarity with detailed information from John Guarino who answered all our questions and gave us a good and fair estimate for the work. Johns team was on time, professional, friendly and worked very hard. They were responsive and cleaned the worksite up nicely each time they came.     Protek Painters painted our garage as well as some additional odds and ends on the deck. Getting the quote was easy, John stayed in touch about when the work would happen and it went quickly and efficiently when the painting team arrived.     I look at Google review when I need a painter to paint my outside of my house, I called ProTek because they have very good review . I made an appointment with the owner, John Guarino and he showed up at 8 AM exactly as he promised. He gave me a price which is very reasonable and he promised the date I asked him to finish the job. In the painting process his team has done very professional job including power wash, carpenter work and paint the color I desired. The team also work very quietly and neatly and willing to help on things other than the paint job, such as replace the light bulbs high up on the roof, replace the vent shuttle of the drier. They have finished the job one day ahead of the schedule. Overall, I am very satisfy with their work and they are the people that you can trust.     Had our home in Acton painted this week by ProTEK and we could not be happier. John, the owner, communicated with us every step of the way. These are hard working folks who care about the quality of the work:Edwardo did a great job with the power washing and took a small video of before/after our granite steps. GAH on how dirty they were!I dont know all of the painting crews names, but Rita did our entry and side door and did a beautiful job.Had one small item I wanted the crew to come back for. Alex came back the very next day to take care of it.ProTEK painted our house 11 years ago. It held up really well which is an example of the quality work.

    This year we had the pleasure of working with John Guarino and his team at ProTEK Painting in Newton. We had used them for a small job a few years back, and I had been talking with him over the last few years about repainting our house once we had finished a bunch of repairs and renovations. Finally, this summer we were ready to go. We did our due diligence and had several contractors estimate the job. We chose ProTEK because, not only was their bid lower than the others, but they were highly recommended by so many of their customers. We were not disappointed.The painters were fast and professional. They cleaned up each day. Their prep work was well executed, and the paint job was excellent. We would highly recommend them. John Guarino is a joy to work with. He was very flexible about scheduling the job. As we discovered some additional work that needed to be done, that was not in the original contract, he was kind enough to just include it in the job at no extra cost. He is very focused on customer satisfaction, often saying: The jobs not finished until youre happy. It was very true.We would definitely use ProTEK again, and do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

    This is the third time I’ve hired John Guarino of ProTEK, twice to paint my whole house and once to touch up the holes that insulation contractors left. They are great. Their prices are reasonable, their prep work is excellent (power washing, scraping, carpentry repairs, etc.) They’re neat, they protect everything with drop cloths and. they clean up at the end of each day. The lead man on the job, Andres, was very easy to work with, very accommodating. They showed up each day on time, around 8:30 and got the job done in about a week.     Look there are a lot of painting companies out there, from franchises to old family companies to guys with panel trucks. I know, I’ve seen most of them over the years, and decided I’d paint the way my Dad taught me.     Pro Tek power washed our house, repaired some of the trim, and then painted the trim. After we realized that the old aluminum siding was showing it’s age, they fit ii into their schedule to paint it. Not only did they do a great job but they were very pleasant to have around. They were prompt and responsive to fix a few minor drips of paint. Our house looks like new, I will hire them again for our next painting need, and highly recommend them!

We really wanted our house painted during a specific week of the summer: even though we could plan ahead for scheduling, this would generally seem a difficult thing to plan given uncertainty of weather.     I am the owner of an old Victorian home that was in desperate need of some attention/TLC, particularly with old, peeling, cracked ceilings. I hired ProTEK, at the recommendation of a colleague, to paint the entire interior of my home. John and his team DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The crew methodically went through every room and painstakingly prepped every wall and ceiling to the point where the cracks are not even noticeable. I still cant believe how great they look! One of my rooms was damaged from ice dams a few years back and youd never even know after the ProTEK treatment. Additionally, the crew was very neat and took extremely good measures to protect/cover all of my furniture and rugs. The also cleaned up any/all dust at the end of each day and then did a full cleaning of my entire house at the end of the project! Oh, and I would be remiss if I didnt give a HUGE shout out to the foreman who oversaw my project. I couldnt have asked for a better experience.

    John, the owner of ProTek, is honest, sincere, and dedicated to providing good service. He and his crew communicate well and listen to the homeowners needs. Breno, the foreman, and his crew worked tirelessly and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time. They were prompt and respectful. Breno was especially responsive and went above and beyond. The particular job was a complicated, difficult one due to wallpaper that had been painted over and could not be removed and due to the fact that the weather was so humid. There were problems with semigloss paint painted over semigloss paint peeling and not curing after more than a month. The latter issues were not apparent during the inspection. John agreed to return and address the problem even though it was not necessarily covered under the warranty. He refunded money related to the inability to remove the wallpaper. Overall John was very responsive and responsible and I would not hesitate to recommend ProTek Painters.

    My wife and I have been very satisfied with ProTek Painters over the six years they have worked with us doing both exterior and interior work on our home. I have great respect for the owner of this local company, John Guarino, who is easy to work with, very reliable and always accessible for advice, and assuring that we are very satisfied with the work of his team. ProTek just has completed a major job at our home after a leakage in our water pipes from the third floor of our Victorian home to the basement. This involved repairing ceilings and walls as well as painting and staining three floors of our home. His team completed the work in seven days working diligently for eight to nine hours a day.     When customers go back to the same service provider again and again, thats usually the best recommendation. Thats the case for us with John Guarino and his crew at ProTek Painters. Johns crew painted our 1929 colonial in Newton about a dozen years ago, and weve just used him to do it again. In between, we used ProTek to paint the entire interior. Each time, the prep work was first-rate, which is essential. Careful power-washing, spot sanding and priming. The crew works extremely hard, and John used a huge gang of eight or so for our house so the job was done in two long days. Scheduling was easy. The crew is respectful of shrubs and grounds and cleans up carefully. We decided to add some extras and John obliged at a reasonable additional charge. His quote was a bit higher than the lowest bidder, but way below the top quote. An excellent and professional experience overall. Again.

    We are very pleased with the work of John Guarino at ProTect Painters. We recently solicited four bids to restain our deck, something we do every couple of years. Johns was the most reasonable. His team did a better job of precleaning and staining than any of our previous painters. Additionally, when I pointed out a couple of things that needed touch up, he did not hesitate to come back and take care of it as soon as possible. In fact, when I asked if he could revisit to help me replace some of the heavier furniture on the deck, he did it on his own within 24 hours.     This was a big job at our house--a two-unit Victorian in the city. We had the exterior fully painted, while putting new railings and balusters on three porches, and replacing a large amount of rotted wood all around the exterior. John at ProTEK and his crew, led by Junior, were the right people for the job. From the beginning, John was clear and accessible (he replies quickly to emails and texts). The crew was at all times courteous and friendly--not to mention very skilled and effective at what they do.     ProTEK is very easy to work with. John (owner) is a good communicator and a good listener. He gets back to you right away if you have any questions (email, text, phone). Good clear bid and accompanying material. The bid was very competitive and they used quality paint (Benjamin Moore).ProTEK provided a list of jobs with addresses. I checked out four nearby houses and everything looked good.We were doing a color match and John was ready to get a 3rd paint sample to make sure we were happy because the computer matches were off a bit.The crew of 5-6 people was very polite; no shouting or loud radios. Although John was not on-site most of the time, when he dropped by he always let me know in case I had anything I wanted to discuss.The daily cleanup was very good. We had guests over for patio dining a couple of evenings during the project and the yard was always in good shape when the crew left for the day.ProTEK did some extra exterior carpentry and I’m very happy with that, too.ProTEK really aims to please. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

John provided a clear estimate for the work and was flexible on timing, accommodating our request to paint the bedrooms while we were away on vacation.
