We had an exceptional experience with Smart Roofing. We needed our roof and gutters replaced sooner rather than later due to a leak that had developed. We were hoping to hire a local contractor. Dale was quick to respond (unlike 3 other contractors I had called), very professional and organized. He explained the process then answered all my questions and concerns. There was no lengthy sales pitch. He was honest and straightforward with his quote. Dale and his team worked quickly, efficiently and very hard. Smart roofing has quality products and workmanship, great communication, good price and meticulous clean-up. We had Smart Roofing replace the roofing shingles on our home due to hail damage. We really wanted to work with a local contractor with a good reputation.We were very pleased with Smart Roofing - Dale and Joe came to inspect and verify the damage, and then Dale came back when the insurance adjuster was here to point out all that needed to be done. We worked directly with Dale to define what we wanted done and that it was important to us to be careful not to damage our landscaping and patios and have a thorough cleanup when they were done.We were very satisfied with their work - they had an efficient crew and supervision on site for the entire job. Complete work took only one and one half days - including installation of new gutter guards to replace original hail damaged ones. Cleanup was great with no damage to landscaping.Smart Roofing were efficient in working with our insurance company.We would definitely recommend Smart Roofing to anyone who needs a new roofing system. Excellent company to work with.

Dale and his team worked hard to get my roof done on time and as promised. His willingness to get the job done instead of endless talk was a great asset. The fact that the owner of the business was on-site and working while the roof work was being done is a testament to the seriousness with which Dale takes his profession. My neighborhood was hit by a storm and Ive seen many roofs being replaced over the months since. Most of the companies seem to have an owner/marketing team and then a separate crew to do the actual work. By the time the job is being worked, the owners are elsewhere and nowhere to be seen. Not the case with Smart Roofing.For my project, Dale came in part of the way through dealing with the insurance company. He did a great job helping me understand the process and the industry in a way that made sense (relative to the nonsensical nature of the insurance industry) and guiding my through the last half of the process.Taking into account the frenetic nature of the roofing trade, Dale at Smart Roofing did a good job communicating and answering questions with patience and diligence. His hands-on approach means he has a lot going on at any given time but somehow, he makes everything work.It seems clear to me why this company has survived through three generations in business in an industry where the average lifespan is only a few years. I would recommend Smart Roofing.

My first contact with Dale Smart came about a year and a half before I thought I needed a roof. I had a random roof leak that would come and go that was driving me nuts for quite a few years. I randomly called (Smart Roofing) to see if they had any ideas on how I might find this leak. To my surprise, Dale showed up at my house a few hours later. My initial thought was that he was going to try and sell me a roof, but he didn’t. He actually found what we thought was causing the leak and did a small repair without asking for any money. The roof didn’t leak for about 1 1/2 years, when a new leak appeared out of nowhere. Once again I called Smart roofing. They got back to me promptly even when they were very swamped with other roofing jobs. Of the 3 contractors I called they had the most reasonable price. Then to make things better they got me in about a month sooner than I had originally planned. The crew came in and did the job from start to finish in 1 day including a very thorough clean up. I would highly recommend this company for your roofing needs.

Dale and his crew did an excellent job in replacing our roof. Affordable, very efficient and conscientious about clean up. It was done in one day and the roof looks fabulous. I definitely recommend Smart Roofing.My only suggestion is to make sure to get whatever receipts and/or paperwork you need before they leave. I really needed an invoice for my home owners insurance, which I was assured I would be emailed. However, I have still not received one after a couple weeks, even after emailing a reminder about it. Luckily was able to work it out with insurance to prove work was completed. It worked out in the end so I dont hold it against them. I know they are crazy busy!

Dale, Joey and the crew are amazing! We have a cape cod with a very steep roof and a total of 5 dormers. We have a 2 car attached garage and a single car garage along with a yanky chimney that was a plain to work with. The guys were total professionals and spent a lot of time setting up ( protecting house and shrubs) and cleaning up after themselves! No huge dumpster to deal with as they had machinery to grind up and recycle old shingles. Less than 2 and a half days and we had a beautiful new roof!

Very happy with the services from Smart Roofing! Both Tom and Dale were great to work with from start to finish. My older home had some challenges and Dale came onsite and spent an hour and a half working through a plan to address my needs and explained options along the way ( I had other estimates and nobody else focused on getting to the bottom of the problem). Dale was very patient and addressed any questions or concerns I had. Dale and his team stayed late to get the roof done and cleaned up everything as well. Above all expectations. Great company to deal with. Very quick to respond - like same day. A fair market quote provided, with explanations of potentail add-ons as the old roof was to be torn off, and could be anticipating damage since we had leakage. Were put on the schedule for work to be completed within 6 weeks of order. They came 5 days later as an opening was available. A fantastic, hard working, polite and respectful crew, got everything completed and cleaned up in 2 and a half days. And that included a severe rain/hail storm, but everything was secured and nothing damaged. Dale Jr you are the best and you show how much you care for your working crew. I decided to get a quote from Dale at Smart Roofing because his uncle installed a high quality roof for my family many years ago. Of the three quotes I received, I decided to have Smart Roofing replace my shingles since Dale was the only contractor who took the time to personally inspect my roof and attic. Dale discovered problems with my roof that I was unaware of. Although he was slightly more expensive, I felt the additional cost was justified since Dale was very knowledgeable about shingle replacement, thoroughly explaining the methods he uses and why, he found the problems and offered cost effective solutions for the problems I was unaware of. Dale recommended that I install Certainteed Northgate class 4 shingles which qualifies me for a $90.00 yearly deduction in the cost of my homeowners insurance. Dale and his crew arrived on time. He took the time to answer my questions during the removable and installation process. Dale and his crew completed my house and shed roof replacement in one day. His crew did an excellent job cleaning up. I highly recommend Dale and his company.

Although the other roofing contractors were slightly less expensive, we were willing to pay extra because Dale Smart would work with his customers. It was definitely worth the investment. We had many shingles throughout the roof that had blown off during high winds. Dale came out to inspect and give an estimate on the roof. Following the inspection, he offered to caulk all the exposed nail holes in the cold of winter without charge although we didnt sign a contract with him yet. That is customer service! In addition, he worked with our insurance to try to get the best reimbursement. Most importantly, Dale worked tirelessly with his crew on the job throughout the entire roof replacement to get the job done on time. Dale and his crew are so incredibly hardworking that they worked on the weekend and in unexpected rain. During the entire process, Dale was in constant communication with us, was very professional, came everyday on time, and worked with us to make everything right. At the end of the job, Dale even took the time to seal some leaky gutters, caulked exposed areas of wood on the soffit, and adjusted a few gutters at no additional cost. Our new roof looks amazing and we highly recommend Smart Roofing!

I am a new homeowner and just found out there was a leak in my roof. Called Dale Jr., he came out and did a thorough inspection and gave me a great quote. He is professional and beyond personable. He communicated throughout the whole process and made everything that much easier for a first time home owner. Once I settled on a shingle color, he told me the approximate time they were going to start and I was shocked as to how quick they are compared to other estimates. He came over a day early, finished my garage and then finished my house the day after. They did an amazing job and the roof looks amazing. He will work with you to make sure that all little details (chimney knockdown, vent removal/installations, gutter pitch) are perfect and what you want! He was on the job each day and his crew was great too! They did a great job cleaning up the site completely. So we called up Dale and had a great experience as well. Our roof was a pain. We have 6 skylights that were not installed properly and a list of many other problems. Dale worked with us on price, and our roof and skylights are fixed and amazing! They have a 5-star rating for a reason. They are the best in the area.

Dale to his credit rather then trying to up sell me on a roof now, convinced me to repair this one and get a couple more years from it. Years ago I had Smart give me a quote for a metal roof on our previous residence. Dale was not quick to sell me anything and gave me an honest time frame for the life of that existing roof. I had him come back a couple months later to patch some flashing- quick, inexpensive, and fixed the minor leaking problem we had.Fast forward to our new house; we had some issues with our deck roof and the garage was in need of a new roof. I was happy enough with Smart to call them before anyone else.Dale ran through some options with us and we opted for metal on the deck and garage. Once work started, everything was finished within a couple of days. Deck roof originally had no gutters, and had been sagging in one spot, causing water to pool up and rot the board underneath. Now we have functioning gutters, rotted decking is replaced, and Dale was even able to replace a bowed support beam at the front of the deck, cutting it to match the style of the old one. Garage roof and gutters no problem! And everything looks great!Smart is a small, friendly, diligent team of roofers and I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for roofing repair/installation, and especially for metal roofing.

Dale and crew are awesome. They fixed about forty years of problems. I have a shallow pitched roof and it had very poor ventilation, to the point there was a haze in the attic. Dale and his crew were extraordinary to work with. They were all pleasant and competent and EXTREMELY hardworking. Dale explained the different kinds of shingles and the different costs, he explained the roof vents needed, he leveled the gutters for best drainage, he cleaned up meticulously, he knew what the codes were and made sure they were followed, and he had excellent follow up, communication, and punctuality. I don’t know what more anyone could have done at such a fair and reasonable price. Last fall I needed to start the process of getting a new roof so I drove around my neighborhood scouting out what color I should consider. I came upon a house that was nearly identical to mine and I loved the roof they had on it. I stopped and asked the homeowner who did her roof and what brand/color it was. She referred me to Dale at Smart Roofing, noting she was very happy with his work. I called him and he was very responsive, promptly coming over to give me an estimate. I liked Dale immediately. He was very informative, very open and it was clear he valued his work and his workmen. We had several conversations about the roof and what it needed. I intended to get the recommended three estimates, but I was so confident in Dale’s estimate, had already seen his work product and just really felt he was trustworthy I did not do so. I was confident in both Dale’s honestly and integrity and felt his estimate was both competitive and fair. Given it was fall, we decided to schedule the re-roofing for spring. True to his word, Dale called me in March and set up a time to start the job. I did not need to call him or chase him down as I have with other contractors I have worked with. His crew started a few days later and they completed the project in two days. They cleaned up and it was if they had never been there, except I had a lovely new roof. I know if I have a problem down the road, Dale will stop by to take care of it. I really enjoyed working with Dale. It would be nice if all contractors operated as he does. If you choose to work with Smart Roofing, as long as Dale and his dad are at the helm, you won’t be disappointed.

The original owner that we bought the house from told us it leaked since day one, years before. Found out it was the bracket holding the telephone and electric wires pulling out from the roof and the hole where the mount goes was the little hole where water was leaking in after a storm. My roof required a full plywood redeck because of poor spacing of the 1x4s underneath the original roof. They charge a fair price but Im speaking with the owners of the company directly. The other 3 roofing companies I got quotes from didnt offer that type of personal service and follow up. We highly recommend Smart Roofing. I hope I never see them again!

The knowledge and workmanship from the Smart Roofing team is just awesome. I read the reviews and trusted my gut. I chose the Northgate shingles for my roof replacement because the price wasnt much of a difference and they are the best on the market. If anyone else is questioning going to a class 4 shingle, heres my take - Im planning to turn down the monthly savings my insurance company will try to offer me, so I wont have to worry about not having coverage or coming out of pocket when the next big storm comes. My family deserves the best so we got the best. Highly recommend Smart Roofing!
